It was terrible, there were ants everywhere and when we told the reception they told us that they couldn’t change rooms unless we paid 400RM extra. They sent someone to use ant spray and made the room smell of ant fumes, we had to check out and book another hotel. The bathroom also had a ton of ants, and the shower head was mouldy. It didn’t look like they had cleaned the room before we used it, there was still hair and sand everywhere.

Good location, no pool loungers or chairs.

Poor value for money

Very basic room. Bed was incredibly uncomfortable - the bed springs were barely covered. Pillows were incredibly hard. Towels very thin ... Building works during the day and pool was very run down. Extremely poor value for money. On a positive note, the location is great.

Very Convenient!

Enjoyed the convenience of doorstep parking. Saves a lot of time going in and out! Location is Perfect! 5 Minutes walk to Duty Free Shops, Beach & Mall! However water pressure was low, and no room phone to call the lobby. Could be better.

Great location, friendly staff. The accommodation itself was generally clean and comfortable but walls could do with a clean or new paintjob. Breakfast included was good but I preferred the vegetarian option. LOVED LOVED the air conditioning in the room. The pool was lovely but as an older tourist with a minor disability a safety handrail to get in and out of the pool would have made my experience more pleasurable and safer. The water pressure in the shower was very poor as only getting droplets from shower head and management stated this was due to lack of rain. Overall, very happy with the hotel and cost.

GREAT STAY but..

Great Location!!! walking distance to the Cenang Beach for sunset View, Night Market, Malls, eateries, Shopping!!! Jammed Packed activities.. Only setback was the bfast set, mouldy toast and DND door signage was not in place thus they accessed the room during our absence for cleaning..

Toiletries in terms of shower foam and shampoo has to be separated. Watchable TV channels aren't there. Local channels which we don't watch. Other than that, It's a good place to stay. Clean, friendly and polite staffs and somewhat peaceful.

Not recommended one

In bathroom spray did not work. toilet was not in usable condition. reception isn't available for 24Hrs, looted my money in thename of deposit & never returned. I wont recommend this to my friends.

Booked family room for 4 person. Room and toilet are clean. Hotel provide free breakfast. Hotel just opposite cenang beach. Many shops and amenities around the area so is good especially travelling with family. It would be nice if hotel can place a water hose somewhere near the room for people to wash their feet before entering the room

Worth the money

CHECK OUT TIME SUPPOSE TO BE 3PM BUT WE CHECKED IN AT 4 PM SINCE THE ROOM NOT READY!! WAITED 1 HOUR AND THE ROOM STILL DIRTY. A LOT OF DUST. WATER HEATER NOZZLE HOLDER BROKEN.USED BED-SHEETS. PARKING NOT AVAILABLE.SHARE SAME PARKING WITH RESTAURANTS AND OTHER HOTEL.LACK OF STAFF. WASN'T A PLEASURABLE STAY AT ALL.

It was convenient and near to the beach

It's central location, within walking distance to shops, malls, cafes and restaurants. A few minutes walk to underwater world. The Cenang beach which is suitable for even young children to swim is 3 - 5 minutes walk across the road. The property has a swimming pool but too small. 4 of us stayed for 5 nights and they gave us complimentary bottled water, sachets of nescafe and tea throughout our stay. Towels were also provided. Complimentary breakfast was also given everyday but only for 3 so we had to pay RM10 for the 4th person. We asked if we could combine 2 days breakfast voucher for 1 day of breakfast but not allowed citing breakfast was complimentary. This does not make sense since we were not asking for additional breakfast but simply wanting to combine 2 days breakfast vouchers. Breakfast consisted of 1 slice of bread, butter, jam, scrambled egg and baked beans. My 3 kids do not like baked beans so we told them that and they replaced the baked beans with 1 more slice of bed. Overall stay was excellent. We hope to return by end of this year. We arrived at Langkawi airport about 8am so we went straight to Shell Out hoping we could check in early eventhough the official check in time was 3pm. However there was no room available that early, so we left our luggage at the property and walked to underwater world. Just before noon, the property called saying the room was available for us. It was kind of them to let us check in at noon. The staff at the reception was friendly.

Studio room is spacious. Free internet wifi. Swimming pool. Within walking distance to the nearest restaurant and shops including Mall in Cenang area. Parking is easy. Beach also within walking distance. Pleasant & clean environment.

Ants everywhere

Resort was as expected, pool area wasnt great. Front office staff were really helpful. Bad things... there were ants throughout my Bed and in the bathroom (have videos). After I moved rooms after the first night, the bathroom in the second bedroom had ants crawling out of the sink. Rooms701/702 I spoke to the hotel general Manager and requested a refund and he said he would get in touch with Hotels.com... as of three days later, they have not...

The hotel is very close to shop and the beach. Room was big enough and everything we'r needed. Air conditioning was not great but did the job for one night. Bathroom was hot all the time though. Breakfast wad quite small so we needed another snack after. Overall it was good for what we paid.

I enjoyed my short stay though there were a few problems. The noise, cockroaches, check-in time, poor wifi, and the pillows. The traffic (not from the street) but guests of Parotti, Shell Out and the drive in motel was extensive. The amount of people allowed to drive after 11 was excessive, right past 2am. These include the loud scooters that everyone drives here. I captured 2 cockroaches and one got away but a good daily spraying will help this problem. I arrived after twelve to check-in or at least drop off a bag. The Hotel.com site says 2pm check-in. The sign at hotel says 3pm. Luckily was able to hang out at pool until room was ready. When I got to my room, I found relatively new a/c that worked perfectly, clean clean clean room with some worse for wear furniture, but the pillows were absolutely rock hard. They felt like foam chips had melted and solidified. They desperately need to be replaced. The wifi worked initially then wasn’t able to access, used 4G the remainder of stay. Overall the room (standard chalet) was a good option to be close to beach, shopping and restaurants. The staff was lovely.

My stay was good for budget hotel. However I can't really sleep coz neighbours upstairs level is noisy. Can hear all the sounds from 2nd floor and next door. (Not sound proof). I almost cancel my stay upon check in coz the bed sheet was not clean.Pillow is not soft makes me difficult to sleep. However they manage to change to a new bed sheet. Over all ok la for 3 star hotel. Cannot compare with 5 star hotel.

Great staff and a fabulous position.

We loved it at shell out. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. The pool area was a great place to relax. The location was perfect. We would not hesitate to stay there again.

A wonderful and relaxing stay

The resort was in a great location and the pool area was lovely. But it was the staff who made our time in Langkawi special. They did all they could to make our stay enjoyable and even gave me a birthday cake. They became friends over the eight days. We would go back their without any hesitation.

WiFi did not work. No amenities in the room only bar soap. Only one comforter in a studio room with a king and a twin bed. For the twin bed, there was a baby size blanket. The staff was friendly. They gave us an extra pillow. Only one night sleep. We could not wait to leave. For the quality of our stay here, we would not come back.

My individual wood cabin was cute and convenient to restaurants, shops, etc.

Pleasant trip

Had a pleasant stay during my family holiday trip, hotel staff were friendly, location is conveniently close to Cenang beach, the Family rooms is comfortable for 5 pax, rooms was cleaned & tidy up daily even though there wasn't any wardrobe for us to hang or place our clothing...all in all, it was a pleasant stay at Shell out Chalet.
