Located in a nice and quiet location. Room has all the facilities but the lack of a fan or a AC assuming Queenstown is always cold was a bit uncomfortable as we ended up with a hot evening and unable to keep windows open fearing bugs since being bitten enough by sand flies already. An option could be to install fly nest so that we can keep windows open if it is hot inside. The bathroom requires its floor level to be adjusted as water is not draining properly. TV was not functioning for all the 3 nights.

Fabulous tucked away property right in the city center where you can walk to anything at all needed. It offers private and easy parking. We loved that we could conveniently launder our clothes as well . It was a friendly and easy check in and out with a smile along with a small bottle of milk for our coffee. Thanks!

Lovely stay. Nice unit....a real home away from home. And a delightful garden setting. Just two minutes walk from Arrowtown's main street shops and restaurants

Great place to stay. Very quiet, staff were excellent. Replaced the milk for the next day as we had used most of it. Very handy to the shopping area. There was parking but it was tight on occasion. Would definitely stay again.

We had a really lovely stay. Our unit was immaculately clean with a great shower and superbly comfortable bed.It is in a perfect situation for walking to cafes, town, movies, bike hire. We would definitely stay again.

A little disappointed that we were charged for three people when we had informed that we were only two. Other than that it was nice.

There was nothing not to like. Everything worked well and was very comfortable. And the shower was the best I’ve had in ages, it’s better than my one at home. Now I have shower envy…

This is a sweet property and just at the edge of the Main Street. Walking trails are a couple of minutes away. It is a lovely small community to stay in. Busy on the weekends but quiet in the week.

We stayed in Number 11. It was a beautiful, small apartment, and was very well appointed. It was super clean and the kitchenette is a handy feature, even if the fridge was pretty noisy. There's plenty of space for luggage as there's a massive walk in wardrobe. The bathroom was very spacious and modern. The owner is very friendly and is a super host. Would definitely love to stay here again! Shades is within a few minutes walk of the picturesque Arrowtown High St. but the accommodation itself is very quiet and relaxing, it's set in lovely gardens. Recommend

First time staying at this property Owners friendly easy check in and so close to Main Street in Arrowtown. Definitely stay again has good array of unity room layouts 😊😊👍

Such a lively location, right next to the cute little downtown. Room was clean, bed was comfy and the little kitchenette was handy. Loved having laundry facilities

All good. Not enough parking

Lovely hosts! The room was comfy and cozy and perfect for us. The Wi-Fi was a little weak in our unit at the end of the property and Brenda kindly let me sit near the office on the patio of an empty unit to do some work on my laptop. We just lived Arrowtown and Queensland and would stay at Shades of Arrowtown again for sure!

Great spot and very friendly owners.

It was a wonderful stay. The room was cleaned and well maintained. I worked in 5 star hotels and I would rate this as a 5 star stay. It was perfect location and not far from the bus that takes you to Queenstown. I would stay here again when I’m in Queenstown.

Great use of space in the unit. Good heating and kitchen facilities. Only comment is no iron which I wasn’t particularly worried about but would have been handy.

Great being so close to arrowtown to walk host gave us a blow up mattress and blankets for a night party up the mountain, was very helpful and friendly. simple clean and perfect for what we were wanting. thank you so much.

Great property, very close to the Arrowtown main centre. Beautiful setting and the autumn colours on the mountains framing the property are just a beauty to behold. The hosts Frank and Brenda were lovely and very welcoming and took time out to talk to the guests.

Our little cottage was very cozy. Having a spare bed worked well as it meant we both had a peaceful nights sleep, as I snore when I have been drinking! Over all I would stay here on price, location and ambience.

This is a fantastic motel right in the heart of Arrowtown. Very friendly staff & very accommodating. Can’t go wrong staying here!

Enjoyed another stay here. Wonderful dappled light in the setting around the units. Easily walkable to the shops and to places to eat.Good hostess who chatted socially.

A little too relaxed servicing the rooms BUT there was fresh towels etc that were always accessible. Very friendly people, extra milk and tea bags given freely. Suggestions wot to do with our time in Arrowtown helpful.

Quiet and serene while close to town and everything you might need. Only downfall was that I couldn't get on internet often and when I did was only abe to stay on for limited time. Brenda was just lovely and I would be delighted to stay there again should I ever get down that way again.

Noisy/pump/extractor fan from adjoining unit Very hard to sleep , towels not replaced we had to dry infront of heater for second night stay.No reading material maps or information on Arrowtown provided in rooms .

Stay was amazing! Very easy to deal with for check in and out, clean room and reception was great. The only thing which is really small is that the wifi did not reach our room.
