JP was a fantastic host. Kind, friendly, welcoming. He offered lots of complimentary extras. We will be back again.
An enjoyable, and comfortable stay!
Had a very enjoyable stay at the Hale Seymour Lake Lodge over the Thanksgiving holiday! If you like to dial back in time to a historical location, relax and just enjoy this beautiful, and peaceful location, then this might be for you!
Lakeside location
A cosy, comfortable room with great character and a very friendly host set in a beautiful location.
Great , cozy place with beautiful views, comfy bed , perfect place to stay if you’re getting your global entry card at customs or just visiting the area
Friendly staff. Layout of apartment is a little unusual. It appears to have been a conversion of part of the main building. I would stay there again. It's not as nice as many of the other places we have stayed, but it's good for what it is.
Affordable B&B with spacious rooms by a gorgeous lake
The room is small but clean and cozy. I absolutely loved the lake view. The only downside is the slow Wi-Fi.
Great location, extremely friendly and helpful owner about recommending the right activities to do.
The host was very accommodating. Highly recommend.
Seymour lake
Historic inn not too far from many areas in Northeast kingdom.
The property has wonderful old time charm - lots of fun things to look at, the view of the lake from the front porch is stunning and Rob, our host, friendly and helpful. We’d love to return ~
This property is 120 years old so it has creaks and cracks but that is the appeal. It was staying overnight at an antique shop. The stories Bob can tell were fun and amusing. We had the apartment to ourselves with a kitchen. The lake is acrossed the street and the loons were singing. We loved it.
Interesting place and good quality price ratio. With all the antiques in the lodge, we have the impression to go back in time.
This lodge is not for everyone…. but it has charm if you like history. The Manager was so helpful…… You won’t find another Lodge as quirky as that one. The views from our huge balcony were fantastic.
Bob greeted us and made us feel welcome. Lodge has a lot of character! We loved the wide porch overlooking the beautiful lake
Very pleasant old style lodge
Rob was incredibly friendly, informative, and genuinely nice to be around. The room was clean and comfy. The lodge was quaint and peaceful. 10/10 will return.
Old school lodge. Friendly proprietor. Great coffee in the morning
Great view! Unique place, didn't know we had a shared bathroom. Probably wont go again.

Rob was a very kind man. The house was built in 1871, with some upgrades done to it, so a country home feel. Plenty of outside seating on 3/4 acre. It was right across the street from the lake. Our unit was an apartment that was attached. Very comfortable beds. It was a wonderful stay. Fyi: there is a cemetery a block away that had the stone of samuel elliott. He died in 1855 at 91 years old. It said "a revolutionary soldier". That was cool! Some very old stones. We enjoyed our stay and recommend it.
A beautiful surroundings.
Great bang for the buck!
Beautiful overnight stay in the NE Kingdom.
Stayed here back in late April which was perfect because it wasn’t quite peak season for this area. The owner even upgraded me to a balcony room which was greatly appreciated. So sorry my review was so late but the stay here was perfect. The owner and/or inn keeper was very friendly and we had multiple long conversations about the area, the history of the lodge and how wonderful Vermont really is. He told me about the garden he keeps in the back and how the rain storms last year really affected the fall foliage in the whole of the state. Plenty of older and replica lamps, computers and other kinds of antiques. Very cool stuff. The room was perfect for just a one night stay. I drove up from NJ just for a day or two trip and needed something last minute. I’m glad I chose Seymour Lake Lodge. There was no TV in the room and the WiFi and cellular network was slow but it’s out in the country so I totally get it. I think it’s great to disconnect from reality for a bit. The bathroom got the job done. Shower was a bit iffy but I made it work without issues. Thanks for the awesome experience! Mike.
Drove up the state in a pretty bad storm and arrived at the inn with no power. Regardless of no power we had an amazing time! There was efforts in the morning to get coffee and breakfast made even without the power. As we were leaving the owner showed up and was very friendly! They really care about their guests
the welcome was good. The staff was nice. Breakfast not much choice. the view of the lake was magnificent. the price was too expensive compared to the condition of the lodge.
Quick trip to VT for a get-a-way
It was a great stay! The man who lives on the property greeted us, showed us around, told us about breakfast in the morning and shared some history about the lodge. The lodge has a great view of the lake and we chose the room with the balcony so it was fantastic being able to go out and just sit and enjoy the view. The weather wasn't the greatest but nevertheless it was a great trip. The only thing that would have made it better was if the bed didn't squeak so bad and no matter how many times we tried to stay on our own sides of the bed, we kept sliding into the middle.
Lake House
Quaint house on a lake. Very serene. Beautiful breeze
Charming, cozy lakeside spot.
Really charming place, really friendly host. Right near a beautiful lake, with lots of room to sit on the porch. A little warm upstairs in July, but we had a fan & a sliding door to let cooler air in at night.
Caretaker was just great.
Antiquated but homely.
My family and I had an amazing two night stay this weekend! The owner JP was friendly and kind and the property manager Ron was very kind! He was knowledgeable and helpful! We had a great time and will definitely be back!
It was like staying at a grandparents house. Lots of antiques. The porch was very pleasant and relaxing. The scenery was also great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Had a great stay
Our stay was great. No one expected a heat wave in June, so no air conditioner made sleeping a little tougher. But the relaxing atmosphere, view of the lake, and warm downhome hospitality made up for that. We will definitely be back.
The best stay
This was an amazing place to stay. Man taking care of the lodge was super friendly and quickly showed us our room. The atmosphere of the lodge was spectacular and they have beautiful antiques all around. Our room had a balcony that gave us the perfect view of the lake. If you’re ever in this area I highly recommend staying here.
Vermont overnight
It was a very cozy place. Beautiful views and very friendly
Manager is very hospitable. No tv
A little piece of heaven
I wasn't sure what to expect of the Seymour Lake Lodge when I booked it on Hotels.com. Was I pleasantly surprised! It is an old converted farmhouse, with tons of character, and all the modern conveniences. The room was adequate and comfortable, the view of the lake was stunning, both from my room, and the large front porch! A huge yard for walking my dog. Had lengthy conversations with the property manager and another guest. One of my most memorable stays.
Bathrooms were not clean, internet incredibly slow
Cute, cozy, clean! This house was adorable with views over the lake. Kind proprietor and location convient both to Canadian border and a town nearby with grocery and restaurants.
Clean and friendly. Very welcoming.
It reminded me very much of when I used to stay at my Grandparents house in the 70's. my only complaint would be that the room was very small and tight and that the second bed in the room was horrible, the springs almost come up thru it. that said if i was looking for a place to stay on the lake at a reasonable price i might go back.
Comfortable Inn
Clean Inn, good bed. Awesome location. Will go back in summer to kayak on the lake.
Great stay here. Enjoyed the atmosphere and the staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly.
The inn keeper was super nice. Everything was extremely quaint and clean. Very accommodating and helpful with ideas on what to do around the area.
Rob the site manager did a great job of answering questions and havng breakfast ready.
Gorgeous lake view. A step back in time.
