If you are seeking an authentic Fijian cultural experience, Serenity Island is an excellent choice. The staff are exceptionally attentive and supportive, which has left a lasting impression on me during my travels. I would particularly like to acknowledge Sammie, Emost, Gracie, and Tanni for their outstanding service. The resort offers a wide range of activities, both on-site and through day trips, alongside an impressive menu selection. The spa, conveniently located near the beach, provides various options for relaxation. However, there are a few areas that require attention. The comfort of the beds could be improved, as they currently do not meet expectations and may need to be replaced. Additionally, it would be beneficial for staff to ensure that all amenities in the bure are in working order prior to guests' arrivals.
Amazing spot, but...
The hut on the beach was beautiful. New, spacious and a good size bathroom. The property itself was very nice. Lots of snorkeling spots, sandy beaches and very pretty to walk around. The only negatives were the cost of transportation (boat) to the island was extremely pricy ($350 CAD return for 2) and the food was beyond terrible. Breakfast was so disappointing with next to no selection and the dinners were below average. In particular the buffet we had the one night. For over $50 CAD, there was about 5 things to choose from and some clumpy rice.
Breathtaking Wanna go back soon!!
The staff were amazing; friendly, and helpful. Did everything to make your experience special.
Sweet staff but business scam
The staff were friendly and sweet. However, we paid for all inclusive and they changed the terms after arrival and limited drinks and food. They then wanted to charge extra for things that were supposed to be included. They also ran out of multiple liqueurs so we couldn’t even drink what we wanted - rum, vodka, and others.
Forest & Brach paradise
I stayed at Serenity Island for 4 nights (I regret not staying longer) The island is a paradise on its own, with reef all along the island where lots of fish (all sizes and colours) and star fish can be seen while snorkling, kayak and SUP available too. Different activities are offered each day/night and the activities staff is super fun making each activity more exciting and entertaining. The facilities are a combination between forest and island paradise, with the smell of flowers all along. Bedrooms are equipped with everything you may need and the beach at your doorstep. Food is amazing and delicious, specially cooked by the kitchen staff, omelets are a must try! Gym is well equipped and has a beautiful view of the beach. The spa is a gem at this resort, I tried the foot massage treatment and highly recommend it! The management and staff at Serenity island are super helpful, always willing to assist you and answer all your questions, the atmosphere and vibe is unmatched! Super vibrant and happy! I had a great time during my stay! Thinking about my next holiday at Serenity Island.
Serenity is a beautiful island and resort. We loved the location, the water was amazing and great snorkelling opportunities. However, the dining really let it down for us. The food was not very good and very expensive, often things would be out of stock for our entire stay (a large portion of the menu) and on one morning the buffet was pasta and grilled chicken and fish which seemed a bit odd. They definitely run on Fiji time here and we were often waiting hours for the boat for our excursions.
The biggest downside was the food, i highly recommend you buy your own food before going to the island, because the only food available is whats on the menu. Thats it The food was below average and at time not eatable. There is a shop for buying junk food like noodles and biscuits but its super expensive The breakfast which was included in price is good, they do eggs! And they provide fruit and its a buffet rather than a menu When you book, choose ocean bure up to 17 you can swim in front of, any bures (rooms) from 18 to 33 have rocks so impossible to swim. And they do not do room swaps! The garden bure location is actually good too! On the plus side, The people were amazing they made us feel part of the family which is why i will definitely go back!! The free activities were really good: turtle feeding fish feeding weaving oil making cava drinking and more The water around the island was so clean and clear that we could snorkel from anywhere, corral was very close to shore and fish everywhere Snorkeling gear and kayaks were free including life jackets which was amazing They have good coffee and nice cocktails Note that you need to pay for bottled water. Rooms were very nice and comfortable, hot water and shampoo , towels etc provided Also a nice hammock in front of room and 2 chairs to sit We loved our stay and will be back thank you serenity island and it’s lovely people
Lovely friendly staff, have to go with the flow a bit. Appears to be re-investing so facilities may improve as they recover from Covid.
We spent 3 nights at the resort with our 4 year old and 6 year old. We enjoyed that the resort was quite quiet - we never had a hard time getting beach chairs, tons of space at the beach, we could grab paddleboards and kayaks throughout the day. The staff was very friendly and kind to our kids. The resort maybe isn't the fanciest in Fiji, but we had a great time and appreciated how it was more laid back and calm. The food at the restaurant was good, the spaces around the resort were clean and we could see staff cleaning throughout the day in the common spaces, and there were activities throughout the day we could participate in if we wanted. Overall, I would recommend the resort.
This island is very beautiful and peaceful. There are plenty of beautiful fish to see when you are snorkelling, and some stunning white sandy beach. Lovely staff, comfortable rooms and a comfortable bed.
Unforgettable stay!
I’m so excited to share the wonderful experience I had with my family at Serenity Island Resort. From the moment we approached the island, we were greeted with a joyful welcome song and a delicious drink. We arrived quite early, but Grace and the rest of the crew were ready to receive us. We have 2 young kids, and the room we booked was spacious, cool, and comfortable. The grounds are beautiful and well-kept. This is not a perfectly polished and manicured resort. It is a little more rustic, which, in my opinion, makes it more enjoyable and authentic! The staff on the island were so warm, caring, and engaging. They invested their time and energy into treating us (and everyone else) like family, especially our children. For a portion of our stay, they were the only children on the island and were treated like treasure. Emosi, who manages food and beverage was always considerate of their needs. The food was delicious. We embraced Fiji time while we were there and it made everything so much more enjoyable. No need to rush. There is never a wait if you sit back, relax, and enjoy the views, sounds, and delightful people. We have visited some hospitable places, but nothing compares to the welcome, hospitality, and joy of staying at Serenity. I really could go on and on about it, but I will say with staff like Grace, Emosi, Danny, Nemo, Saki, Sammy, Ulamila, and many others, Serenity Island Resort stands out in ways I never imagined. Fabulous experience. I highly recommend.
Super friendly staff, beautiful island, beautiful views, singing from the staff every evening was very nice!
Friendly staff
I had an excellent time. I appreciated Joe and how much he taught me about Fijian culture.
Beautiful location, staff work hard day and night and treat the guests as family. Having usb outlets in the room were very convenient. Nice activities like kayaking, snorkeling, paddle boating, excursions, fish feeding kept us entertained.
The staff was extremely friendly and always ready to serve. The island is beautiful and very relaxing. The bungalows are so clean and cozy and the AC works excellent. They had a great variety of food on their menu They offer so many activities every day like grass skirt, making Fiji culture and language, coconut oil, making, Fijian food, cooking demonstration. The Snorkeling and kayaking around the island were excellent as well. Nemo And Sammy The resort directors were fabulous! We had such a wonderful restful vacation and would definitely return to this amazing paradise Island!
OUTSTANDING
Excellent Service Early check in Massage Food Clean Awesome Staff Very Friendly
AWESOME
Excellent Service food Early check in Stay 3 nghts get 1 freehave take a boat to island price Reasonable round trip
The Staff were very friendly and helpful. The Island is surrounded by crystal clear waters made for excellent snorkelling. Many activities were organised throughout the day should you wish to join.
This is the best low key resort. It was a 2 star but made you feel like a royalty.
So so for staying front desk was hard to find or to get help
For anyone looking for a very quiet holiday, Serenity definitely ticks that box. There were three members of staff at the resort that were absolutely wonderful: Sammy, Oula, and Sereana. They really made sure to try and take care of us during our stay. Unfortunately, other than the beautiful surroundings and the three staff mentioned - I would not recommend Serenity to anyone. The food was absolutely terrible, the bartenders couldn’t make a drink to save their lives. I would not drink anything there that didn’t come out of a bottle…just because you simply did not know what you were going to get, but you knew it wouldn’t be good. We were thoroughly disappointed with our stay, enough so that we left early just so we could get a proper shower and experience some decent air conditioning. We had a 10 day stay on Serenity, and trust me - one night was enough.
Serenity Island Resort is on a gorgeous little island. It is peaceful, and the staff are very lovely and welcoming. The bed is sooo comfortable. Fell asleep listening to the waves on the shore. The only thing that prevents this being a perfect place is the food and service in dining room. The food is barely edible and takes ages to arrive. Example a BLT took 1.5 hours to arrive and then the fries were cold. Would benefit from having a much smaller menu and doing the options well. Avoid serving leftovers from dinner for breakfast.
Serenity island could be so much more. The staff that work there were fantastic and did the best they could do with the resources available to them. Always friendly and happy!. To bring the island up a notch, a safe in each room, a coffee maker in each room (not instant ) have someone walk around the island and clean garbage that washed ashore every morning. Have a proper waste and recycling program….its there Fiji!! Fine tune the dining experience, try an electronic bug light/zapper to control flies. And lastly this is a big No No , don’t have the gas and diesel storage next to the dining area as you can smell the fumes in the dining area, and don’t unload fuel drums into the water in front of the guest!!! For the price point it was good these are items that I believe should be corrected. My biggest like was the Fijian staff, their friendliness and easy going way and how much they embrace there culture!!
Serenity Island Resort gave us an unforgettable experience, which we could not have had anywhere, esp. staying away from the mainland. Being our first time in Fiji, we wanted to have an enjoyable Holiday and Serenity Island was perfect -- away from crowds and the daily hustle/bustle. The Booking was perfectly managed and the Trip to the Island was perfect. The Welcome at the Island was amazing and from the time we landed, we were made to feel like we were at home. We opted for the PalmView Bure. Although it was nice, clean and quiet, Beach Bure would have been a better option. There were plenty of activities around the Island and we stayed for 7 Nights and especially enjoyed the Turtle Feeding, Fish Feeding off the Island, Setting up the LOVO, Removing the LOVO, Volleyball with staff and the Coconut Demonstration and Tasting with Daniel. My Wife enjoyed her 5-6 days with an artistically hand-made Coconut Leaf Beach Basket, which sadly we could not carry back. The Food was amazing, and the portions were huge. We had gone for an All Inclusive Package and that was a good pick and it came with an excellent choice of drinks. Both the food and the drinks were presented nicely. There was a wide selection of dishes from the Menu and even after 7 days, we had more options we could have tried. The Beauty of the Island was mesmerizing and the sunset was divine. We thank all the Staff who went out of their way to make sure that our 25th Wedding Anniversary was memorable. "Sota Tale"
Huge potential and they are working on it. Can become second to none if put some work and management on it!
Overall was a great 3 night stay. Wasn’t bored, as I feared. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was generally OK, you wouldn’t go here for the cuisine , equally you wouldn’t not go here because of the food. Definitely recommend.
We can't wait to come back to Serenity! We came with a plan to relax and rest for 5 days and let me tell you, we managed to achieve that and more. The room (5) was well equipped with a modern AC unit, a good ceiling fan and very close to the main ammenities in the hotel. The bed is excellent and the surrounding areas of the Bure are very quiet. The food was very good and fresh, the herb crusted fish was excellent. The restaurant runs in Fiji time so just relax while you wait for your meals. The best part of the hotel is no doubt the staff, all of them make you feel very welcomed and treat you like family. Special shout to Sami, Tua and the restaurant/ bar staff that always looked after us with a big smile. The whole island is a short 30 mins walk and the best beach is on the other side of it, where you will find yourself alone and relaxed. This place exceeded all expectations we had from it and cannot recommend it enough. Vinaka!
SUPERB SERVICE by ALL Serenity Team members! Mr. T.; Jamie the captain & Bolo are very helpful & very accommodating & great & understanding of what we need. Great work!& keep it up! :)
Found peace on Serenity Island
Beautiful little private island resort with a lot of heart. It could use a little TLC but it was a idyllic peaceful tropical beachfront getaway.
Fully met expectations, perfect location, friendly staff, nice beaches, great daily activities.
Everything went really well and we enjoyed our stay... However we got billed twice ... We spelled the bill on the day of checkout and then a few days later we had another few hundred dollars taken off our account with no explanation and property is not responding.... This brough a damper on our experience.
Serenity Island is a great place for a relaxing holiday. Typically Fiji, staying at the island you camt help but relax. The resort has gone through some tough times i assume because of Covid however but presents well. We were unlucky to experience a triple generator failure which Ben the new Operations Manager found himself dealing with on the first day ! Despite the lack of power we still enjoyed ourselves and the staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. We look forward to heading back to Serenity next year to see how Ben’s plans have played out. Shout out to Sammy who supplied plenty of ‘energy’ to the resort !
Thanks for having us. Had a pleasant time and a great new year celebration. Thansk to the team.
The Island Manager Ben made our stay Incredible. The Room with its private beach, step off Balcony onto the sand and a 12 meter walk to the water, absolutely divine. Ben personally took an interest in each aspect of all patrons stay to make everything run smoothly.
Serenity Island Resort is just right if you want a secluded and relaxing hideaway. The staff are genuinely kind and "make the resort" - hospitable, responsive to your needs and really do go out of your way to make the most of your stay. There was one restaurant providing a variety of foods and the view is absolutely stunning and the staff sings, providing insites to the Fiji culture . The salon services are quite good and personalized. Andi provides great massages, and her and Ro are very personable. If you want a rustic island hideaway with nice ammenities--this the place for you.
We loved this property so much we extended our stay twice. You may notice another review from me regarding this wonderful spot. Food was amazing, loved the natural surroundings...no complaints.
We stayed at 4 different hotels while in Fiji and this was our favorite. While there was some damage and areas to fix up, this resort had all we needed. The beaches were the best we had during our visit and the food - nothing short of amazing. Each meal was deliciious. We took the all inclusive option which was well worth it. Thank-you Serentiy Island!
What a beautiful place to stay. Gorgeous coral reefs just steps from the ocean view rooms. Staff is very friendly and make you feel like family. I highly recommend Serenity Island
This property is a great little island
The island is incredible. Coral is amazing for snorkeling and the beach is just perfect. The bure I had was a little dated- unit 2 with AC that didn’t really keep up. I think it’s designed to be open air with louvers on the sides of the room since that also let in the smoke from the neighbors. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. It was a short ferry ride with the south Sea cruise. The red speedboat was a good option for going back as well. It would be nice if they could be more eco-friendly with solar power instead of running the generator all day and burning trash. The incredible beach all the way around the island is the star of the show, none of the other stuff matters and I felt lucky just to experience the beauty.
An amazing resort where the friendly staff will do anything they can to make your stay the best you've ever had. Cannot find any fault. An unique island with very special people.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at Serenity Island Resort in Fiji and overall, I’d rate my experience a solid 4 out of 5. The standout feature for me was the incredible staff – genuinely friendly and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure a memorable stay. Their warmth and helpfulness truly enhanced the overall atmosphere. Moreover, I was impressed with the resort’s commitment to catering to dietary needs, particularly gluten-free options. As someone with dietary restrictions, I appreciated the effort they put into providing diverse and delicious gluten-free food choices. While the resort’s ambiance and amenities were commendable, a few minor improvements could elevate the experience further. Nonetheless, Serenity Island Resort is a tranquil haven with a staff that leaves a lasting positive impression, making it a great choice for a relaxing getaway in Fiji.
The island itself is gorgeous and has so much potential. The reef surrounding the island is stunning and makes for easy safe snorkeling. The resort itself is in poor condition. From badly lit uneven paths, to peeling paint and limitied hot water. Water pressure? Non-existent. Beds? Like a concrete block. The best side of the island with sand and unlimited ocean views hasn't been developed. Most rooms front onto slippery rocky beachfront. The room was clean, stocked, and lovely when we arrived, but went downhill from there. We had a small bottle of milk for coffee when we arrived but though we finished it on the first day, we never got a restock. We had a Nespresso milk frother but no Nespresso machine. Instant coffee. Water is an upcharge. Flies, lots of them. Service is hit and miss. The staff is absolutely lovely but it doesn't seem like anyone really knows whats going on and nobody seems to be in charge. #1 rule of a resort is keep the guests tipsy and they'll forgive almost anything. Bar service is slow, and the drinks are inconsistent. Sometimes there's ice, sometimes not. The recipe changes from drink to drink and they are often out of key ingredients. One night we ordered drinks before dinner. Went the entire dinner service (painfully slow) with no drinks at the table. Ended up picking our drinks up at the bar 2 hours later. Mmmm, warm alcohol. /s One night we were given a menu, then the menu was taken and they forgot about us. There's more but character limit.
Property itself is nice staff is nice but bit lost when u ask them something it takes long time for the response and also food is over priced and everything is cold by the time it gets to the guest and also the breakfast was cold too.
Very relaxing environment, nice staffs, decent meals.
We recently stayed at Serenity for a week and loved it! The island is beautiful and takes about 20 minutes to walk the full loop around. The small resort is relaxed and like one big family. The coral was alive (comparative to most places these days) and they have a lot of fish, snorkeling on the south side of the island was definitely the best. Although we also enjoyed the daily fish feeding boat drop off as well. The snorkelling gear looks fairly new so I think it has been replaced recently after the reviews. The staff were amazing, Sammy is the best front of house and has an infectious positive energy. He is such a fun person and remembers every single guests name - it's impressive! Sereana and the other lovely ladies in the restaurant were great too, always booking us the best table for dinner and ensuring our pre-ordered food arrived fairly quickly. Wathy and Solo kept us stocked up at the bar too! Dinner runs on island time and can take a while especially at busy times, be prepared for some wait times. The food can sometimes be a little inconsistent, we often ordered the same thing and got different variations each time - all nice though and the food was decent! We loved the evening singing every day and also the cultural show was impressive. The buffet dinners aren't quite a nice as the a la carte menu. The pool loungers are all fairly new. Our beach bure was great and looked like it had been recently renovated. A few tweaks needed to make it perfect!
We booked all inclusive but they ran out of vodka on day one of our stay. Management was not able to restock even on third day so I paid for a bottle to be purchased from Nadi and sent to the resort so we can enjoy our favorite cocktails. It is not a up market resort but very simple and enjoyable.
It was amazing. Thank you to the staff for making our trip to Fiji unforgettable
I chose to stay in this island this time, my second visit to Fiji. Very quiet and peaceful moment on the island, have spent 4 nights here, taking my time to just being relax, reading, dive in the ocean, swim, snorkelling and taking naps. Friendly staff especially the management team. Unfortunately, the food needs some improvement, inappropriate temperature especially dinner time. Otherwise, everything else was great!
Food was hit and miss manly cold and soggy.staff were great singing was awesome.Property was a bit tired. For the price.
Having just returned from our first visit to Fiji staying at Serenity Island I can only say what a wonderful relaxing time we enjoyed. The location is beautiful, and the beachfront bure that we stayed in and had everything we needed and when you stepped out of the door you were only metres from the water. Good menu selection and lovely Fiji singing welcome every evening. It’s worth noting that all inclusive does include both drinks and meals but only at meal time hours but definitely a worthwhile option. The Island is small but you are able to walk and/or kayak / paddle board around the whole island for free and provides a lovely relaxing pastime. The staff are what make this destination so good, from Captain Nemo, waiters, bar and kitchen staff, cleaners everybody who works there they work as a great team and make every guest feel welcome - nothing is too much trouble! Thank you to the whole Serenity Resort team for looking after us so well.
The location is beautiful. The staff are lovely. The ocean is clean, clear and warm. The accomodation is fine - pleasant and clean. However the dining experience needs work - it's an easy fix but almost every guest had the same issue. It's a messy, disorganised, hectic, not that delicious (and quite expensive) palaver - every day. I don't want to moan - as I loved the place and location and my time here - but the dining experience could be fixed easily with some proper management and thent this resort would be first class and perfect. Once I accepted the food (breakfast and dinner) was going to be a daily dilemma, I enjoyed it all and it's worth it purely for the ocean, weather, kind staff and comfy beds.
Very beautiful island (pacific paradise) and great accommodation huts right on the beach, very peaceful. The people are very friendly. There is only one restaurant for all meals. Breakfast was standard international fair and the buffet was generally good, however many of the menu ordered meals and cocktails were very disappointing and expensive for Sydney prices ($35-$55 main meals Fiji dollars). Meals could take 1 to 1.5hrs to arrive at the table - Fiji time!
A major disappointment
I’m stunned at the number of positive reviews on this site about Serenity Island Resort. Based on these extremely misleading claims, I made the terrible mistake of booking there. It was a disaster. While the island itself is gorgeous, the “resort” is a major disappointment. The bures are poorly designed with a weird quarter step leading into the bathroom which is an accident just waiting to happen. We found tick like bugs in our bedding. The wooden walkways are poorly lit which makes night walking treacherous. The only option for food is the one restaurant with a limited menu and extremely questionable cleanliness. I felt so sorry for the employees - they were trying their best, but it felt like they knew they were on a sinking ship. I realize I sound like a lone disgruntled person, but please think long and hard before booking - and then book somewhere else.
Staff were very nice. Clean property and food was great. Maybe they could introduce a few other activities.
Amazing staff. Amazing resort!
Beautiful, private, and quiet. It is a piece of paradise you cannot find on the Fijian mainland. Lovely, helpful staff that make you feel at home. Be prepared to accept Fiji time and make sure they understand what you want. You will need to accept that the food is not a 5-star resort, the fish dishes being the best. Overall, we had a wonderful escapist stay.
Serenity Island Resort is a unique authentic resort for those wanting a bit of peace and quiet. The beach bures are great and the staff very friendly. The beaches are lovely and the snorkeling was awesome. The resort has daily activities
This not the run of the mill resort . It was just the ticket., staff was friendly and helpful. Really felt like we were in Fiji and not some big resort. The massage was amazing. Leave your watch at home " Sega na lega" No worries you're on Fiji time
Sam and the team were excellent hosts. The island is just 25min from Port Denarau on the islands own Red Speed Boat and excellent snorkelling just off the beach. 3 laps of the island’s internal track will bring up a 5km run. A most excellent stay. We loved being on Fiji time and taking it slow…
A fantastic experience for our family staying here for 3 nights. from staff to food was really good.
We absolutely loved the staff, they were friendly and helpful but that’s where it stopped. The rest was pretty poor- the food and drinks were not consistent and wernt good and a lot of the time were not able to be consumed (cocktails and food), the property was run down, rubbish piles all over the place, the fences were all down and could see staff washing hanging everywhere and broken trees, bushes and weeds etc all over the resort as well as old mattresses that we were told staff use. The sandy beaches in the marketing are no longer there or anything like the pics as the pics are outdated due to a storm a while back it’s all rocks now. I was made to feel stressed and upset on day one due to them not updating their system to us being all-inclusive and they kept telling me I wasn’t even after proof sent while standing there- eventually they accepted it but no apology given. I found the booking process stressful as the reservation team is not in the island so any info wanted was super hard to get. Was super disappointed no Fijian dances etc either as advertised. Apparently it has recently been taken over by new owners and according to some of the other guests who had visited previously it was not as good as it used to be. Shame as there is so much potential there. Would I stay again - absolutely not. We had a great time and loved our holiday but that was due to making the best of it and great company. Thank you to the staff for being so lovely ! You saved it.
Fabulous time on Serenity Island Resort. Everything was perfect. The staff were all exceptional and did all they could to make our stay memorable. Probably shouldn't single out one person, but Sammy was fantastic...he really put his heart and soul into making us feel welcome. We loved the singing by the staff. Can't wait to return!
Nothing on this island other than the resort and the most beautiful blue water making it quite and extremely relaxing. It felt like you had the whole island to yourself. Room was lovely, comfy beds, cleaned daily, good AC. Resort was kept tidy and staff really cared for it. The staff were fantastic always attending to our needs and going above and beyond. Big vanika to Kami who provided us with all the cocktails. Was a little disappointed when we arrived and it wasnt white sand out the front of the bure but soon forgot all about it, unfortunately nature took the sand from that side of the resort. The other side has beautiful white sand. Lots of marine life, we saw reef sharks and a turle while sitting on the beach.
Best resort friendly staff and well look after customer. Well organised good management. Thanks and will coming back some day.
The staff at the island are incredibly helpful and friendly. Such a relaxing place to visit and stay. I cannot thank the staff enough for their hospitality. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.
I would have liked to stay longer!
If you want a relaxing laid back stay with your feet in the sand stay here. The staff are so lovely, the singing & dancing heartwarming. Our beach front bungalow was simple but modern (the shower curtain needs throwing out tho!)
Serenity is unique small island beautiful....beach front room . comfortable bed.. clean..smart tv not so smart no wifi in our room.didn't worry us ..shower poor.. everyone great they working hard to improve the Little things.... wifi good in dining bar area..if need it.. would go back beautiful place and people .food nice..
A small paradise island off the grid
The island is a small resort with 33 bures (27 on the beach, 6 behind in the garden) We stayed 2 nights in a beachfront view bure and we were amazed how brand new/cleaned was the bungalow with a private deck and hammock a few meters from the beach. The resort had a change of management and is a work in progress so don't expect much from the common spaces, the restaurant, reception, bar and shop (which is empty) needs serious attention but the island itself is well maintained and you can either walk on the beach or on the inside track and do the tour of the island in 30/40 minutes. We were happy without it but there is no wifi in the room yet so there is a brand new tv but it's not connected but the wifi at the main building works perfectly. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. There is a few activities organised by the resort everyday, some free like going fish feeding and snorkeling on the boat or handline fishing from the boat for $50. The cocktails are delicious and there is an happy hour if you are not all-inclusive . Overall we loved our stay and would definitely comes back.
Here you should stay
Highly recommend We spend for 2night in last our Fiji holiday . Crews were really welcomed and friendly with worm . They looked after us as professional and nice kindly . The beach from hotel is extremely wonderful . White sand beach , nice cosy beach side chairs . You don’t need swim far way to get see tropical fish. Water is absolutely clear. If you wanna have a relaxing also fun holiday , this is here where you wanna visit and stay :)
Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I love the location and beauty the island
The vegetation and clear waters of the ocean around the island
Great start to our Fiji adventure. The staff couldn't have been friendlier or more attentive. The room was beautiful, just steps from the beach and snorkeling. Food was delicious and plentiful.
Great value for money.
Fantastic stay, great value for money. Easy island to get to, only 30 minutes from Port Denerau. The Bule was perfect, clean and a step from the sea. Hospitality couldnt be faulted, everyone was very friendly and accomodating. The only let down here is the food. I would rate the quality and choice 5/6 out of 10, and they are also not very accomodating for dairy or gluten alternatives.
Staff super helpful and go the extra mile, So many activities so your never bored. Room service if you want your dinner or lunch served to your room ( convenient if your jet lagged). Vinaka Serenity
Very friendly staff! Perfect place to unwind and just chill. They had everything we needed.
Depends on What You're Looking For
First, I want to say that it was really nice to have transport all the way from the airport to this little island off the mainland of Fiji. It was quite pricey, however. We enjoyed our room and the AC was lovely for the heat of the day. But, other than that, I was unimpressed and a bit disappointed. The food and drink prices on the island really gouge you. Also, outside of the one water you get when you arrive, all bottled water is on your own dime. Also, some of the food items (for the price) are really stingy. The views are amazing, but the lodge area where the food is had a lot of flies when we were there and the music in the bar always competed with the restaurant music so you were always listening to a garble of both. But, the most disappointing part was paying the bill. We received our room charges upon check out and I realized something was double charged. They removed the charges and then I settled the bill. A couple of days later they charged my card and sent me an email saying I had to pay more taxes. After a string of confusing and frustrating emails, it basically came down to the reality that they had not charged me enough when leaving and were just covering it up by charging it later by saying it was for taxes. It was so frustrating and irritating to be hit with extra charges even after leaving. But, if you are looking for a small island experience close to the mainland of Fiji book directly on their site because they give much better deals.
The staff at this hotel make the stay 5 stars! The island is absolutely beautiful and only 20 minutes from the main island. It is a small island so there is a decent amount of guests on the island but it is not overcrowded. There are activities that they provide for you to do (water activities) for an extra cost. It was stormy and rainy most of the time we were there so we were unable to do it. They also have island hopping. The few things that I think are important to know before going: Book your cab and boat with the hotel because it makes transportation easy. The bathroom in the rooms are not enclosed so there is no real privacy. The all inclusive package does not include alcohol. The food buffet does not have very many options, and isn’t the greatest. The food on the menu had better options. This is a small island, and the hotel itself is a three star. Things are a bit slower than your average hotel and food is only available during certain hours. This place is beautiful, and the staff are absolutely amazing! They were welcoming and assisted in anyway possible. We will definitely be back!
This island is simply stunning. Just 20 minutes from the mainland of Fiji, it's very easy to get to (the hotel arranged the boat), and the island is like a paradise. The hotel is the only business on the island, so you have it to yourself. You can walk around the entire island in about 25 minutes... and find many deserted beaches for yourself. The staff are some of the friendliest and helpful people I've ever met. The rooms, although simple, were about 10 meters from the shore, so you have the beach at your doorstep. There's a turtle pond... sunset bar... snorkeling... it's the perfect hotel to rest and recharge at. Prices compared to other island hotels we stayed at are also very affordable. Cannot recommend this place highly enough. If you're going to Fiji, making visiting Serenity Island a priority!
Everything was wonderful. Staff is super friendly and the property and surrounding water are beautiful
I can’t describe how good this place was. The rooms are excelent. The open spaces don’t have mosquitoes. Albert, Grace, Mr T, & all the staff were amazing. I chose this over an international chain and I don’t regret it. The service level is great and I’ll defini back. Vinaka vakalevu!
We loved our stay here. Beautiful resort and very lovely staff. They made you feel very welcomed!
We couldn’t have enjoyed our time anymore at Serenity! The staff we lovely and very accommodating. The rooms were very clean with amazing views and the food most certainly didn’t disappoint! We definitely plan to return in the future
This place is a Gem, the Bungalows on border of this fabulous beach. Wonderful Staff specially the manager Bella and the host Sammy. I'll be back for sure!
This is an unspoilt and unique place to stay.We were made to feel so very welcome by all the staff.Very relaxed. We absolutely loved the hammock and beautiful view of the ocean from our room all just a stones throw to the crystal clear water ! Meals were delicious ... only thing to improve would be the breakfast & evening menu to include a bit more diversity and fresh juices ... other than that we would return in a heartbeat 💗 Thankyou Serenity for making our stay so very special
Very great resort. Small island with limited rooms making it really great experience. The staffs are all very nice and they always making sure we are taken care of. I wouldn't hesitate coming back to this resort if I am coming back to Fiji.
Recommend stay but make sure airport transfers on
Staff were amazing, polite and very friendly. Food tasted good, but chefs need to learn texture, not to overcook and what works well on a beach resort. One little grumble. I organized boat transfer with them. Because they decided to drop off a couple at Mala island first(opposite direction to airport), I missed my check-in!
Heaven on earth and can’t wait to come back. Divine location with well appointed rooms right on the beach. Couldn’t fault it
Relaxing, beautiful spot!
Lovely stay! The staff was very wonderful and attentive. They helped make our stay there extra special and fun. Beautiful island, beautiful facilities. They set up a special private dinner for my partner and I to celebrate our engagement, which was great. Dinner food was delicious and fresh. You can walk around the island in 20minutes. Only thing I wouldd change is that the lunch menu is very Western - pizza, kebab, burgers, etc with one more Fijian option (grilled fish or fish and chips). Would have loved to see a more local, light lunch menu.
I loved almost everything about this resort.Food could use improving.
Peace and Quiet with a View
Serenity Island lives up to its name: it is wonderfully quiet and peaceful. If you're looking for a party place, this is definitely not it. But if you want a few days of relaxation, this is your place. The bure are right on the water for swimming or just admiring the view. There is nothing on this tiny island but the hotel, but the food in the restaurant is reasonable priced and well-prepared. You can borrow snorkeling equipment and kayaks at no charge. Staff is exceptionally friendly.
This island is a beautiful place to stay. The staff are wonderful and friendly. The service is very good. The food is of very good quality. You get the choice of 4 or 5 excellent main courses each evening. The garden/palm rooms are very nice. We didn’t have any neighbours so was very peaceful. You can however hear absolutely everything from next door when someone is there. I have only 2 negatives about this island. I asked if I could pay for a room upgrade. I was told the lady who did reservations was on her day off. They said they would call her but no one got back to me. I really liked my palm view room and the it’s only the hotel who has lost out on increased income. Maybe another member of staff should be able to do this to cover her days off. Secondly the fly issue. Out of 12 meals we had we only experienced flies 3 times. Never in the evening. And only at breakfast or lunch if it had rained. However they were very annoying. To the point I walked out with my food. They need to install 2 insect repellent lights in the restaurant. This would probably solve the problem. I understand it’s a small island in the Pacific Ocean and I don’t mind any form of wildlife. However I believe this issue could be resolved. Thank you for a great stay.
great location & nice beach & snorkeling around the island. Beach bures were new, well appointed & very comfortable in great setting. Staff were pleasant & helpful. Downside is menu was fairly limited (although changed daily) & the standard of food (dinner) was ok but not as good as we had had elsewhere in Fiji.
The island is amazing. It is so good to be able to walk around the whole island. Or kayak around if you prefer. We took a Brita water filter with us to boil and then filter water for drinking as buying water all the time soon adds up. The staff are super friendly and informative. I highly recommend this location if you want to totally relax. To snorkel you simple stroll out of your bungalow and on the beach.
Beautiful stay.
Really beautiful stay. Lovely staff and location. The rooms were nice. We did have an issue with our reservation but they handled it fairly well. The food was good but not great and they were out of a lot of menu items (not surprising since they need to bring everything in by boat. Overall my whole family loved the stay and I would definitely come back here.
The island's beauty is equisite and this is really the star of the show. The water is gorgeous shades of blue, right out of a magazine. The sunrises and sunsets are unmatched and the view of the main island and several small islands on the horizon make this place of purple toned mountains truly special and breathtaking. We reserved the beachfront bure (hut) and being steps from the waterline was a huge plus - not to mention the balcony with a lounger and hammock on the hillside facing the water. It is true as others said the beach has alot of coral, and in front of some bures it is rocky, so bring your reef shoes. This review is written from the perspective of traveling as a couple, frequent international travelers that normally book 4 star hotels. To make it easier I'll break it down into categories: Location - absolutely perfect. Convenient to airport. We used the hotels transportation option (shuttle and fast boat) and were happy with this. On arrival we did have to wait around 30 mins at the airport and around 45 mins at Vuda to catch the fast boat. But we arrived early in the day so this wasn't a huge problem for us - but if you arrived during mid day and just wanted to get to the resort i could see the wait being a bit frustrating. The return trip had little waiting. Note: meet and greet at airport charges you extra 15FJD. Room: on small side but enough and makes it cozy. Decor is modern. Air con cools well. TV only gets india channels but is capable to mirror y

We absolutely loved our stay at Serenity. We had a beachfront bure, number 16, which was very clean, comfortable and well appointed. We could swim and snorkel right out the front of it. Overall the food was great, although a little pricey but generous sizes. The staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful. The only negative thing would be the condition of the main area around the pool and bar area was a bit shabby, had a bit of a faded tired feel to it but we weren't wanting the pool with all the pristine ocean surrounding us. Would definitely stay there again, perfect for complete relaxation at the end of a holiday, especially after staying at one of the busy resorts.
