Great location and staff at the hotel v
The hotel was lovely! The staff were very friendly. Food around was good. If you want breakfast go early!
Good Location
The room was nice and there was a working elevator. Location is great next to Roma Termini.
Thank you Marco for being so friendly and helpful.
The room is small and the bathroom is very small. I am a small person but when I shower I can't move much because I will hit the walls.
Staff was friendly and it was in a great location 👍
Picked this place for 1 night return in Rome before going to Naples. Checked in late. Room small, dated and there was noise from outside. For a 3 star the breakfast wasn’t bad.
GOOD LOCATION, STAFF VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL!
Really good hotel and a good price
Stayed with friends for the rugby. Lovely friendly staff and overall great value - area around the hotel seemed pleasant and nice. Breakfast was ample and rooms lovely and clean
Small room but great location
We had a double room and booked quite a few weeks in advance so I was very disappointed when we were given the corner room as it was tiny and very tight, with almost no room to walk around the bed. The room and bathroom were both very clean though, with some toiletries provided too. I did find ants on the bedside table both nights and even one in the bed… The beds themselves were also quite hard. Location was great, with some amazing food options right on the doorstep. Reception staff were also friendly at check-in. They gave warning of cash only for the tourist tax required at time of checkout.
good location next to train station and bus terminus, they have elevator,
It can be loud in night, from outside noise. Bed was stiff, room was very small and less options in breakfast. Overall good location from termini and friendly staff.
Needs some property renovation
The attention for the morning was so kind, he gave us many tips to go everywhere, and the location is perfect, in front we had very good restaurants very good, excellent
We had no idea what to expect but the streets in Rome around the hotel were filled with restaurants and shops. It was quite charming. The railway station was barely a block away. The rooms were cramped but adequate for our stay. The man at the front desk was PHENOMENAL. He took care of us two solo women with great discretion, care and honesty. I'd go back in a second!
The gentleman at front desk who has worked there since 1989 was so friendly and helped us to book restaurant and taxis was so kind nothing too much bother thankyou people like you make a big difference to someones stay a credit to the hotel thankyou jacqui rose
This small and quaint hotel was located well, and has the best staff! I would stay there again if I returned to Rome!
Friendly helpful staff. Included breakfast was good and plentiful. Clean room. Close to train, bus, tram, attractions, dining, shopping.
Hotel was really cool looking inside very old but well kept. The room definitely needed some updating and I’m not going to lie i felt a little creeped out sleeping there… the bed just looked creepy and the blanket on top looks very old. The bathroom looked old and it needs updating. It was very clean and perfect for a One night stay because of terminal so close to hotel it was convenient . Breakfast was also good in the morning
Good stay for your money.
The receptionist was excellent. Room was small and toilet tiny.
Good location, and clean. Extremely firm bed too firm to sleep and breakfast not great. No variety, no toaster, pastry was not fresh tasting.
Excellent location - very near to Roma Termini. Good spread of breakfast. Friendly and cooperative staff, Luggage storage. Would stay again
it very nice hotel breakfast sweet staff very frienfly they help me every think i need i like it next tine roma i will stay again price very cheap included breakfast thnks expedia or hotel staff
This was such a cozy place to stay. Everyone at the front desk was super friendly. The included breakfast was delicious. Hardly recommend
Great location and staff
I had a single room. It was literally 6ft wide. It had a small cot to sleep on, a thin flat pillow, the fridge was warm, the wifi didn’t work in the room. I had better internet without using their wifi. There was an outlet by the bed but it didn’t support the weight of my adaptor and the only other outlet was in the bathroom. The “street view” only meant that there was loud drunken noises until 2am and city workers at 5am. If this was a place I spent €30-40 on, I would be ok but they charged almost €100 for this prison room. I went across the street to find another place, but they were full. The worst room I ever had. Breakfast was ok but the staff were not friendly or kind. I had to ask everything (wifi password. Breakfast place, breakfast time. Check out time) because they gave me no information. Maybe a double room is better but the single room is the worst I have ever had.
Arrived on a flight well before check in time of 2 PM but was allowed to drop our bags in our (not yet cleaned) room anyway. Made our first day in Rome much easier not having to lug bags around.
staff were very nice
The staff was friendly and helpful, also good location near Termini.
Hotel located close to Roma Termini. Marco was very helpful and accommodating to our needs.
The front desk personal were friendly. The room is extremely tight.
Room with odor and fan did not work. Breakfast is okay.
Mold build up in the shower and very dirty shower head. Noise level is very loud at night. Dump trucks / garbage trucks nightly around 3/4 am. Lots of yelling also from the local restaurants
This is a lovely hotel for a short stay. Location is excellent. It’s very close the tremini station, which also has the metro with it. But honestly I walked everywhere because that allowed me to see more of Rome. There are also trams and buses. The hotel is quiet considering it’s in a busy location. It’s clean and the staff are very friendly and I felt safe. They have a life (the old fashioned kind that you can see through the bars) which was great with the suitcase! The breakfast was very nice continental style and as many coffees as you like with your breakfast. Overall I had a fantastic stay. It’s not flash or posh but it’s perfect if you are out and about most of the day and really want a good base to sleep.
Adequate for our needs
Close to Termini station within easy walking distance this hotel satisfied our requirements for a quick transit through Rome.
My Stay in Rome.
The Serena Hotel in Rome was conveniently located just a 5 minute walk from the train station. The area was safe and offered many opportunities for shopping, eating, and sightseeing. The room was a little small but it was all I needed and the refrigerator allowed me to keep food and drink in the room. I would stay at the Serena Hotel again in the future.
Staff is so friendly! I’d go back anytime!
Okay stay, keep expectations low, price is good
Disgusting! Save yourself from a terrible stay and DO NOT BOOK this hotel. The location is ok close to the train station, rooms are extremely outdated. Shower was dirty and had leftovers of previous guest shampoo and soap packets. I took a photo and showed it to Marco the front desk man downstairs and ask him if someone could come and clean it or if he had another room, his answer was "but is the rest of the bathroom clean? Maybe tomorrow I can send someone (we were checking out the next morning) there's nothing I can do now. He couldn't care less, even after I told him I couldn't shower like that, that the lack of cleaning was not ok and was not acceptable, he didn't even apologize.. in all my years working in hospitality I've never seen anyone so careless, rude and unserviceable.
Very simple, small, clean rooms, good value for the price. Excellent location, 4 minute walk from the train station.
This was a great place to stay! The room was small but clean...nice to have an elevator too! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful with any questions regarding how to get around the city and suggestions for making our visit more enjoyable.
The stay was good , staff were friendly Breakfast could have a better choice.
Good Hotel
Convenient hotel only 2 short blocks from Metro and train station. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast options were really good.
It’s very centrally located and makes getting to places very easy.
The hotel was nice and the staff was friendly and helpful. Very close to the train station, pretty busy and noisy area.
Michal
Nice hotel with good allocation in the area of the city to pick up the tour bus or metro as it is the station which cross overs the two Roma metro lines. A little bit loud in the evenings due to garbage disposal from the restaurants and shops but generally not bad
excelente estadia, ambiente, seguridad, y comodidad
It’s just ok hotel. Breakfast is very basic . It was three of us and the room had barely any space to move around but for one night it’s ok. Location is excellent.
The proximity to the train station was a great benefit, literally a 4 minute walk. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean although small. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was typically Italian and very well done, with plenty of selections and abundance.
Lovedd
Wonderful location , friendly and helpful staff , great breakfast. The rooms are outdated though and the blanket was very thin and ripped .
A few negatives but overall nice
Good location near Termini station. Clean property. A few hang ups in that the safe did not work, the temperature adjustment was not working in the room and hotel staff told us that we have no control of the temperature in our room. Thankfully it was winter and we could open a window to cool off the room. The shower leaked all over the bathroom floor. Breakfast was very nice and room was clean, beds comfortable, good location.
Couple of girls on a short trip
Just a couple of girls having couple nights in rome. Hotel was on a good street well lit with buzzing restaurants. It had beautiful Xmas decorations up outside room was small but clean. Lovely tiles in bathroom. Couldn’t control our own temperature which was a bit of a problem but think they said was just 2 rooms which were like this. Good selection at breakfast compared to what I’ve seen in rome
Run down, old
An quick walk to Roma Termini, and within walking distance of the Colosseum, and all Roma's other wonders. Great jumping off place for exploring Italy by Train. Decent hotel, quiet and the staff are friendly.
Returning to Rome and will stay here again. Very conveient
The breakfast is better the expected. The staff is friendly. The A/C cannot be adjusted. The elevator is ancient.
pleasant hotel, clean and tidy, good location for transportation and getting around the city
Upon entering the room we noticed a few issues like damaged wall paper however we went out straight away. When coming back in the evening we spent more time in the room which is where we started seeing more issues the longer we were in there! The issues started with just wallpaper peeling, then we noticed mould growing in multiple areas of the room, multiple damaged walls with holes and cracks, there was blood on the pillows, there was red marks on the wall and wardrobe, the bathroom shower had ingress of dirt, grime and mould, the fridge didn’t work and upon inspection it was saturated with dust which isn’t acceptable. The images which are advertised on your website for this hotel is nothing like the reality upon entering. We requested a fridge but they couldn’t do anything, we explained about the pillows and the staff claimed they couldn’t do anything, we requested a new room but there was no rooms available, there was no management available so we resorted to the only option we had and had to book a new hotel which has incurred more cost to our holiday and causing more stress and loss of time on this holiday. Then the next morning when we were leaving they started looking for a new room after stating there was no available rooms the night before. I would of been apprehensive of staying in another room having no guarantee that itll be in a better state than the previous room. This holiday was meant to be break for our mental health so we could relax.
The hotel was clean, but old amenities. Great location closed to the Termini train station, and restaurants. The room was clean daily, and beds sheets changes every other day, which we didn't expect it. The room had AC which was fantastic!!! The staff very friendly and professional. Breakfast could be improve -there were no fruits served, and the salami and Chesse will get warm being on the plate (with no ice) from 7:30-10:30.
It was located in a very good section of the city for me.
Good hotel
The hotel is good, near to termini station, just 2 Blocks, but not so near the another turistics points, like 20/ 30 minutes by walk. There are many restaurants around.
The location of the hotel is great. Close to many of the attractions and Termini. The room did not have air conditioning as advertised. Glad it was spring and not summer. I could open the window to cool the room off. I did not notice any noise levels that were bothersome. The beds were very firm. The staff were nice. The rooms were clean. Overall it is an average hotel. You can only pay the city tax with cash. Makes you wonder who keeps it??
Love the hotel! Staff super nice and they treat us really good! Very convenient location too! Will definitely go back!
Traditional property located centrally for city sights and close to the Termini. Very clean, with friendly staff. Comfy bed. Dining room not open due to COVID, however a simple breakfast was delivered to our room daily, always at the agreed time.
Iike the staff was friendly fro manager to cleaning staff i felt welcome but the bed cover look old and dirty i was suspicious to use it and the floor near the bathroom was broken but all the facility was there
I didn’t get to stay at this hotel even though it looked ok. When I arrived there they claimed they had a pipe problem, and without my consent they had arranged a room for me next door at Hotel Demetria Capitolina, also listed on Expedia. The attitude of the people at Serena should have been different at least asked me what I wanted to do, not decide for me. Demetria Capitalina is a horrible dirty hotel. I contacted Expedia but they told me they couldn’t do anything about it since I was ‘already checked in’ Demetria is an old dirty hotel with uncomfortable beds, dirty bathrooms, cracks on the walls, it means it had not been painted in years. The people there looked, in appearance, unprofessional and rude. The Pakistani night employee tried to pick a fight with me because I entered and exited several times. Internet didn’t work at all. The night guy offended me because he insinuated I will leave without paying the 4 euro city tax. He demanded it that I pay it in cash, when everywhere is advised not to handle cash. He failed to provide a receipt so there is no trace I ever paid it. The breakfast was very poor. Stay away from this hotel if you can. Luckily I left as early as possible because I had an early train to catch.
Excelente place to stay
The room is clean, spacious and as described on the website.the hotel is close to the Main station ( Roma Termini ). However, the elevator is poorly constructed. The breakfast is nice .
Hotel was very close to the Roma Termini station. The room was spacious and very clean. And the staff were nice.
Logistical issues with booking
A few days before our stay, the hotel reached out to tell us that the card we listed for pre-authorization was not valid, which is false. They then proceeded to try to force us to pay fully beforehand, even though we had selected the option to pay at the property when booking. This was overall a very stressful experience because we weren’t sure if the hotel was going to cancel our reservation under the guise of “not having a valid card on file.” Fortunately, everything worked out when we arrived, and we were otherwise satisfied with our stay. We’re just upset that we had to handle this logistical problem. The shower was also pretty small, and the WiFi was slow and unreliable. The hotel met our basic needs, but we did encounter some issues. The close location to the train station was great, though, and we felt that the street was safe and secure.
The room was small but clean and there was a wonderful staff memeber who was very helpful and accommodating, he truly made the experience much better.
The hotel is old and seems as if though everything is original including the furniture. The bed was hard, shower would leak water onto the floor and the shower floor drain smelled like sewer.
The hotel staffs are very gentile and kind, especially the front staff remembered me even though my last stay was several years ago! The hotel is very near to the train station and easily accessible to anywhere.
The property was located near a square. It was clean and attractive. The people were friendly and helpful. It was just what I needed.
Room size is very small, if you are coming in this hotel with baggages then you will get problem to accomodate it in room... Room doesn't contain electric cattle for cofee
Very good
Excellent service, clean room and good location. Good breakfast.
Great location
Location is excellent. Breakfast was ok, limited and cold, feels like u r not welcome. Internet not stable, slow. Lift old and classic style but very slow. No view from room.
Recommended
The shower space is too narrow for normal movement. Others are fine. I like the shower which provided sufficient water and the water is hot enough. The reception staff is nice too.
Good hotel well centrally located.....but there'
I have mixed thoughts on this hotel. The receptionist and staff are wonderful. Check in was easy. The location is perfect as you are steps away from Termini station. The only warning is that this hotel is not sound proof so you will hear everyone outside. You will also hear every door that opens and shuts that is not far away from your room. So bring earplugs if you're sensitive to sleep. Breakfast is simple but it's what you can expect for the great price that you pay per night!
Great deal close to termini station
Excellent location - 5 minute walk to termini station - good buffet breakfast and very nice and helpful staff. The hotel might be a little dated but you can’t beat the price and considering the lively and safe location and the fact it’s very clean I would definitely stay here again.
Close to Termini. Basic, inexpensive hotel. Rooms are cleaned each day, a quick breakfast available.
Hotel was Good :)
The front desk staff was very kind! And 24/7 so that a plus. The bathroom was a separate room outside in the hallway. The A/C worked great. Bed was hard and pillows were flat but everyone has their own preference :)
loved the location a very short walk from the termini station easy to get around rome from there
Small but clean basic hotel. Friendly staff and good breakfasy
Didn’t like anything about this hotel. Beds were hard and super flat pillows. We asked for another pillow and the worker said he only worked the desk and didn’t know if there were more. The only positive for this hotel is it’s location very close to the train station, luckily for travelers though there are a ton of hotels to choose from. I would choose another one.
We liked that the hotel is family owned, and located in a very convenient spot near the train and metro stations. Also near lots of restaurants which is nice. The flip side of the city location is that there is more noise at night. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
Good location, next to the train and metro station, however local bars and restaurants are expensive. The major issue is that I didn’t sleep well due the noise outside and inside of the hotel . You can hear everything, every little movement. The hotel owners need to do something about it. The bathroom was clean and there was enough space. The bed was small but it was fine. Some reviews mentioned about the the mattress being too firm but that’s how it is in Southern Europe and in fact it’s much better for your back. Some reviews also said that the lady in the breakfast was rude and unfriendly but I this is not true, she was friendly towards me. If you approach people with then people with respect you back .The staff at the reception were good but not overly helpful or hospitable . Except the gentleman with grey hair and glasses he was nice and helpful. The service was good overall.
Good Hotel, good location, Breakfast must be better.
Hotel was a short distance from the train station, perfect location.
Great location! Close to the train/busses and hop on/off busses.
The bed is a rock. The elevator doesn’t work unless the exterior door at each floor is closed properly so be prepared to walk up stairs. The breakfast room is tiny so there isn’t much room to sit and they don’t let you take the food out of the breakfast area. There is no parking on site and the closest parking garage (3 blocks away) is 35 euros per night. I have nothing nice to say about this hotel. We even asked to check out early because we were unhappy and since we had prepaid, we were told no refunds.
Excellent location and wonderful place to stay. Very friendly
The hotel is very basic. But perfect location, clean and good bed.
Smelly room :(
We stayed room 202 ..first time we arrived at the room there was an unpleasant smell coming out of the toilet, and stayed in the room if you let the toilet door open. We had to open the window just to ventilate the room even if it was winter cold. The exhaust fan in the toilet was broken that's why the smell stayed. There was a bit of an improvement the following days not as strong when we first came. Luckily we didn't stayed in the hotel that much, we go out early to catch the fast train to go somewhere and come back very late in the evening, it was just basically for sleep and shower use. We missed some of our breakfast coz we had to go very eary and some days we had to eat our breakfast at the hotel. It was so-so, very basic and simple nothing much to choose, it was alright. The room though was clean and good enough apart from the smell. They should fix that exhaust fan. Location was great that's why I chose this hotel, very close to Roma Termini for the fast trains. It was great for location but down to PASSABLE at edge of FAILURE for a lot of reasons. If I'm going back to Rome don't know if I'll stay in here again.
The Best Thing About the Hotel is the Location
It is not the best stay for me. Breakfast was okay. Bathroom is big. Room 429 is not exempted from the noise at 2 am when the garbage truck comes. Wifi is not strong. TV has only 6 channels, all Italian. There is a dog on top of the reception desk which is bad for guests with allergies. But Staff Friendliness? Bordering on 0. Only Marco was friendly. One Reception Staff was so rude to me for asking a "tourist" question and proceeded to embarrass me infront of other guests. I did not even hear a "thank you" or "safe trip" when I checked out. Glad I paid all my bills and taxes on the first day.
Very friendly staff, nice and clean, the beds were more like cot sauce but comfortable. For a European hotel I would rate it A
Horrible experience
I booked a single room for one night which turned out to be close to the worst night that I have ever spent in a hotel room. It was a hot night and the air conditioner could not be operated as the control panel had been removed from the wall. The small window only let in more warm air and the incessant noise of squealing railway wheels. On top of this the mini fridge did not cool and the television was useless as unbelievably it was an obsolete analog model! The bathroom floor had not been cleaned and was gritty underfoot. The bed had a hard foam mattress and a single floppy flat pillow. The room itself was minuscule and opened directly into the breakfast room. I cannot review the included breakfast as I just wanted to be out of there as soon as possible the next morning.

Never informed about AC not working
Terrible, we checked in and never told AC was out in the whole building. Got to the room to find out about it. Receptionist said nothing he could do. At this time Hotel.com is saying they can do nothing to get a refund on my cancelation because it is non refundable. Fighting it, but terrible service from Hotel.
