Exceptional in every way! Rooms, amenities, details, location, food, but most impressively was the service. From the moment we walked in early we felt as if we were home. Every single person we met that worked at Sensi were warm, patient, accommodating, fun, happy, and the employees made our trip what it was. I cannot recommend this place enough to anyone that stays on Sao Miguel! Thank you so much for having us! Btw we even left another hotel and took a financial loss to return to this hotel after leaving for one day!

My wife and I stayed here recently with our baby on his first trip and we were so happy that we did! The view is amazing and the staff was so helpful and patient with us. They really made our trip so much more enjoyable given the challenges traveling with a baby can bring to newer parents. Having an indoor pool and access to the spa just a short walk from our room was perfect and the food was great! Will definitely try to return as soon as we are able!

Luxury oasis

Very nice boutique hotel, the nicest we stayed in on the island. Everything was great, the room, bar area, dining room and outdoor space. Lovely decor and well done. Thank you for a wonderful stay at Sensi! The servers, bartenders, and all staff were extremely hospitable and kind. Our room was spectacular and the pool was wonderful. In addition, we booked a couple's massage with Sonya and Sylvie that was one of the highlights of our stay. I would suggest that if you are staying here more than a night or two that you should have a car so that you can explore the island outside of the resort. Overall, it was a great trip :)

I almost don’t want to write a review for Sensi because then the secret will get out, but it might be too late for that. Everything about Sensi is wonderful. It’s peaceful, lux, gorgeous, and worth every penny! The staff is very warm and helpful. Do yourself a favor and just stay here.

The property is so peaceful and calm and was such a wonderful experience. We are so pleased with how everything turned out. The pool was immaculate. The food and drinks were delicious. The staff was kind and patient and were wonderful at every turn. The golden retrievers that are on the property are so sweet as well. Overall, we had an excellent time and would love to return.

Very peaceful and beautiful setting.

Found this on a whim and it was well worth it. Hotel was quiet, secluded from crowds and in a cool repurposed old building on the western side of town, near many of the outdoor attractions we desired. Delicious food, great pools and the massages were terrific. Overall it was a very relaxing place and if we return to the island would stay there again.

Best place we’ve staying anywhere in awhile!

Amazing resort! Blew away anywhere else we stayed during our 8 days in the Azores. The staff were so nice and accommodating. Food at the restaurant top notch for lunch and dinner. Bartenders fun to hang out with. We didn’t do any spa services, more concentrated on excursions and exploring the beautiful coast and mountains surrounding the property. Already highly recommended this location for friends and family.

Beautiful resort, great amenities, very helpful staff. The breakfast was amazing! Not very many restaurants close by but the food at the hotel was very good.

We stayed here in FEB 2024, and we honestly can't wait to return. It is hands down the best hotel experience we've ever had. Even before our arrival, they were always very prompt in replying to emails, and answering questions. Every single staff we interacted with, from check-in to check-out, were always friendly, professional and in some instances, went above and beyond in helping us figure out our after hours car rental return. The handwritten welcome note, and complimentary bottle of wine in our suite was personalized and impressive. Every cocktail was delectable, every meal was delicious. The room, the entire property, everything was spotless and very well maintained. We can't wait to return. This was the perfect place for some well needed R&R.

My wife and I had an amazing stay at Sensi Azores Nature & Spa. This is truly a boutique hotel that offers a relaxing and welcoming experience. The staff throughout were amazing, especially the bar and restaurant staff. The food was delicious and the bar staff made great cocktails. Every morning, the included breakfast offered the freshest local cheeses, breads, fruit, and assortment of hot offerings made to order. Everything we ate at the hotel was delicious. We enjoyed a couples massage that was fantastic. We stayed in one of the rooms overlooking the ocean and it was perfect. Beautiful patio, modern bathroom, and comfortable bedding. The customer service at this hotel is truly that of a five star hotel. We would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing stay in the Azores!

I really loved this hotel! It’s in a beautiful location with awesome views of the ocean, the staff is very attentive, and the rooms are well appointed! We arrived before our room was ready and were directed to the spa where we could relax in the pool, sauna, and Turkish bath, which was great after a red eye flight. The food in the restaurant was pretty good! There was some interesting things on the menu like the triggerfish hotdog which was fun to eat.

Fantastic resort hotel spa

This is truly a boutique hotel and spa and I mean that in the best possible way. The staff tried in every way to make us comfortable and welcome. The location, room, view, bar and restaurant are all fantastic. We had both dinner and breakfast in the restaurant and I can’t say more about how wonderful it was - food and service. I only wish we’d stayed longer.

Staff treated my husband and I like royalty and were so attentive to every need, usually exceeding it —- especially when it came to comfort, safety, and informative vacation options. We had a really great stay at this very beautiful and calming hotel..The hotel room was very elegant and comfortable with a very nice bathroom. Everything was spotlessly clean. The food here is delicious! Breakfast is amazing with a great continental breakfast with cheese, ham and fruit and pastries along with a choice of entree. The tea, coffee and fresh juice is great. The staff in the Dining room for breakfast and dinner are so nice and do an excellent job. Our favorite meal was breakfast though due to the great food and lovely staff member who served us each day and even asked about our days hiking and sightsering. The bar lounge is gorgeous and a lovely place for a pre dinner drink. Dinner has some nice choices all very well prepared. The hotel location is excellent. It is located down a quiet road so there is no car noise. It is located near to the thermal waters at Ferraria and just 15 minutes drive to the village of Sete Cidades where great hikes await! We had a wonderful stay and would like to return!

Enjoyed our honeymoon here! We were able to relax, ate an amazing continental and hotel breakfast, book the indoor pool, and enjoy massages for additional fees. As a result, we were able to have a late check out making it very easy to wind down!

We stayed at three of the best hotels around Sao Miguel island during our visit this week and Sensi Azores was our favorite. The beauty of the location and spaces, the peace and quiet, the warm service, and the best food of our whole trip .. I could go on, but these just a few of the things we’ll remember fondly from our visit. Mix all that with the easy drive to epic experiences at Sete Cicades and Ponta da Ferraria, and Sensi Azores is a destination not to be missed.

It’s very charming, nicely remodeled, private plunge pools, beautiful spa and absolutely delicious breakfast and dinner menu. We were treated with warmth, friendly and welcoming employees. We would love to come back and stay again. The experience was great! We had a 3 people suite with private plunge pool. Water was nice and warm and very private. We were provided with 3 robes, slippers, separate pool towels. Shower was great and spa treatment was very good.

We had a wonderful stay here. The room, amenities, food, and staff were all incredible.

This was an entirely transporting setting, property, and staff. There are 21 rooms ensuring a peaceful intimacy with the stunning beauty of the island's southwest coast. As far as you can see up and down the coast there is nothing but ocean and farm. We were well coddled from beginning to end. I felt personally pampered. The restored substantial farmhouse, outbuildings, and stables were imaginatively redeployed as rooms, spas and restaurant/bar. A stone horse barn with the arched wall from a large stall separated our bedroom from the sitting area. Our ocean view room had a warm dipping pool with a private terrace that offered many seating options (chaises, swinging chair and cushioned chair), making it difficult to leave our room. The staff in the spa were highly professional and we enjoyed 4 different sessions, each a pleasure. There was absolute simplicity at every encounter...Elegantly unpretentious....We spent two magnificent days by the large perfectly clear pool overlooking the ocean, free from noisy crowds. I usually take a day or 2 to acclimate to a property. This was instant bliss from the moment I walked through the door. The owners are there daily with their 2 golden labs - a restorative bonus pleasure. I forgot to mention food- fresh squeezed orange juice, fresh breads - a different daily surprise that delight in taste and presentation...We ended up staying for 2 dinners on property....great Azorean wine recommendation....I simply can't praise this place enough.

Sensi was an absolutely amazing property. We loved every second of our stay here; from the inviting staff, unique tasty foods, and the sound of the birds on the property, we wished we could have stayed forever! Our room was a corner room with a plunge pool (heated) it felt very private although there was a family staying next to us with children who we could hear. Waking up to the sound of the birds was so magical! The use of the spa was also convenient at night; the mineral bath was very relaxing. The staff at the property helped us arrange airport transfer by a local taxi which we enjoyed. The proper is off of the beaten path but is well worth a visit. When we visit Sai Miguel in the future we will spend all of our time here.

Amazing place with a great vibe. Everyone there is super nice, and the pool area is stunning, Small issue with the number of flies buzzing around, but it sounded like they were actively working to resolve that.

Exceptional find! The staff was terrific and the food in the restaurant was superior. The breakfast that was included was a full continental PLUS a hot item off the menu. The indoor, private salt water pool was a relaxing treat. We also indulged in outstanding massages. The locations was beautiful.

Deluxe

Such a comfortable, beautiful place to stay. The staff were very accommodating and the spa treatment was exceptional! We loved the use of the indoor heated pool since we were visiting in the cooler off-season. Breakfasts were above and beyond!! We had an early flight out on check-out day and the staff took a breakfast order ahead of time and sent us off at 5AM with a to-go bag. Exceptional service, such a deluxe stay.

Absolutely loved our stay here. The staff was incredible and did an outstanding job of creating a wonderful atmosphere. From the music in the bar, the lounging areas to private access to the spa - it was an incredible stay. The location is quiet and not very walkable to the larger cities, you would definitely want and need a car for this location. The restaurant is nice and we ate there a few times but if you want more options you'll need to go to town. That being said I am SO glad we stayed here the entire time we were in the azores- even though it's on the west side of the island everything is fairly close on the island overall so if you don't mind a bit of driving it's a DREAM! (approx 30 mins to ponta delgada, 40 to Ribeira Grande - never more than 1.5 hours from really anywhere at all - and the drive itself is stunning) From reception to house keeping (especially housekeeping who saved my beautiful jacket from being destoryed with mud from a hike!) I'm so grateful for everyone at this amazing place and would need a lot of convincing to stay anywhere else on the island - I look forward to returning.

The property was beautiful. One of the nicest rooms we have ever stayed in with an incredible view/sunset. The staff was great, food and drinks were great, massages were excellent, and all wass affordable. You really coudn't ask for more. We would go back in a heartbeat.

We stayed for for a long winter weekend and the staff, food, drinks and accomodations were more than perfect. It is a very simple drive from Ponta Delgado and a wonderful spot to stay to see the area around Cete Citades and the coast. Can't wait to get back.

This was the highlight of my trip to the Azores. You are spolied 24/7. The service is 5 star. The facility is perfection with a lovely bar and terrace that overlooks the ocean view. Meals are some of the best on the island. Value is outstanding. Look no further.

Perfect place! Could not have been nicer or more luxurious

Our stay at Sensi was unbelievable! From the moment we stepped on the property we were amazed. We were greeted by Sophia who did an amazing job giving us a tour of the property, including a history of the grounds, and how to make the most of our stay. We dined on-site every morning for breakfast, for dinner twice, and several times at the bar for drinks and lite bites. The entire serving staff was remarkable. Dionisio and Clovish (spelling?) were FANTASTIC bartenders and are masters of their craft. We highly recommend the Volcanic, Navigator, and Sensi cocktails! The plunge pool on the private balcony and getting massages on the same balcony overlooking the ocean were unbeatable. If you are staying on Sao Miguel, and want the best treatment and the greatest experience, look no further!

I have never, ever, had as wonderful of an experience at a hotel as I did at Sensi. The property is gorgeous and well kept, the room was immensely comfortable and designed to let the view be the focal point, and the staff were some of the most genuinely friendly and helpful people ever. They made our elopement even more special and we cant wait to go back in the future!

We had a fabulous stay at Sensi. It is a beautiful property located in a rural area overlooking the ocean. The rooms are large and elegant. The dining room, bar area and spa are equally appealing. We loved the outdoor infinity pool, as well as the indoor pool and saunas. The staff and owners couldn’t have been more friendly and welcoming. We highly recommend Sensi.

Small hotel, with excellent service and sea view.

What a gem. Beautifully designed with thought, amazing sea views and good quality breakfast all topped with friendly and efficient service. Only comment would be to remove the single use plastic body lotion bottle. Everything was just perfect.

The staff here were truly amazing. I’ve never experienced anything quite like it. Our guide canceled late on a Sunday for a tour the next day, and they were so wonderful- researching and finding us a new guide and calling to make sure everything would work. I’d give 6 stars if I could!

The rooms and location were lovely. The bartenders and the morning waiter were mediocre. I asked to borrow a corkscrew on two separate occasions and was snubbed by the bartenders ("they could not find one" - really?!?). We ate dinner in the restaurant; the food was good but over-salted. During breakfast we received just the continental option - no mention of cooked-to-order food. It wasn't until we overheard the waiter offer a hot meal to another table that we felt neglected. Due to our flight departure time, we did not follow-up since it would have taken too long to make/enjoy. Disappointing based on all other reviews...

Sensei is a beautiful and serene property. The grounds overlooking the ocean are gorgeous. The rooms are stunning and unique in their architecture and immaculately clean. The most outstanding aspect of staying at Sensei is the excellent service-- from reception and concierge to the bar to the dining area, the staff was extremely kind, helpful, resourceful and fun. The cuisine was creative and delicious. I cannot say enough good things about our stay at Sensei and I really hope to be able to go back.

I spent 4 nights at Sensi with my two daughters and it was a beautiful relaxing place to begin and end our days on Sao Miguel. I loved the beautiful ocean views, my children loved the warm indoor pool, and all three of us loved the breakfast. The people there were all friendly and helpful any time we needed anything. I would definitely go back!

Everyone was so friendly at Sensi. We felt immediately relaxed when we arrived for our honeymoon. Beautiful views, food, and drinks were available and the massage at the spa was incredible. We can't wait to come back!
