Nice but noisy

It's a good looking hotel and the service is good. Word of caution: the rooms facing the ocean are very noisy. Not only is there a constant din from traffic on the road below, but also directly across the street is a club-restaurant that plays high volume music until 2 AM

I had a wonderful stay at Second Home Peru. It was everything I had hoped for and more. Super nice location and very friendly and helpful staff who make you feel right at home. The house is marvellous and sunsets over the ocean are spectacular. I will for sure come back next year!

Oceanfront, original art, & a great breakfast

Fantastic location in Barranco with beautiful ocean views and original art throughout. Quick walk to everything you need. Great customer service, Luis and Enrique were super helpful! My room had a nice ocean view and great air conditioning (very important!). It was pretty minimalist, but the mattress and bedding were super comfortable. If you’re sensitive to noise and choose an oceanfront room, bring earplugs! The Pacific highway is also right there, and it stays loud and busy until late. The only thing I wish they’d provided is drinking water in the rooms. Oh, and the breakfast was simple but really delicious—one of the best breakfasts on my whole trip. Fresh baked bread for the win!

Wonderful historic 100 year old house. Ocean view room was fantastic! Electrical and plumbing was old and security to room was poor with easy access from upper common patio door that blew open with just a breeze. Staff was great

I really loved it here. I was sad to leave my room on the last day. Everyone is kind and wants you to have a pleasant stay. The breakfasts are delicious and made to order- the bread was yummy! Overall, I hope to make a trip back out to Lima and have another stay here.

Great service and friendly staff

The house of famous artist Victor Delfin is literally one of a kind. On the cliffs of Barranco with unobstructed views of the bay of Chorrillos and the Pacific Ocean, unparalleled!!! Peruvian friends that came to visit with us couldn’t believe it, they are stunned and took pictures to recommend to others. I’m a Peruvian leaving in California, USA and usually come to visit Lima every year, by far this is the best location to stay around Barranco and Miraflores

This is the coolest place I have ever stayed anywhere, which might explain why I have stayed here so many times. Very unique, with the art of Victor Delfin throughout. Meanwhile over the years the nearby restaurant scene has really taken off.

Perfect in Every Way

Hands down, one of the best lodging experiences I've ever had. The property is essentially a mansion, and the service was just above and beyond. Super professional, helpful, friendly... and the views! Wow! The area is very walkable, close to lots of points of interest and conveniences, and very safe. If I ever return to Lima, there is absolutely no question where I'll be staying.

This is one of the most unique and comfortable hotels I ever stayed in. It was an artistic paradise, location was perfect with ocean views, the staff friendly and accommodating. If I comeback to Lima, I Wii definitely stay here again.

Unique property in the heart of Barranco. Highly recommend for staying in Lima

A very unique hotel that seems like it exists in another time. Beautiful wood, high ceilings, gardens and art everywhere. Perched on the cliff overlooking the sea, and ideal location for Borranco cafes and restos.

Passport problems left me unable to attend but my wife visited without me. Hosts attended to her every need allowing me to relax. Staff and atmosphere were excellent as was the artwork and charming setting. Spectacular view of the sea. She thoroughly enjoyed her stay.

Loved staying in Barranco and staying at this property exceeded my expectation. Just imagine sound of the ocean while you are sleeping despite the windows being closed. It was very clean and close to many things but what struck me most is customer service: The day before arriving there I had injury and per his manager Enrique took me to the clinic and stayed with me until I was done. I don’t speek spanish and they wanted to make sure I was taken care of. I will never forget their kindnes. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

The property is beautiful - lovely staff - great neighborhood

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at this unique and beautiful property. We travelled here during winter, so we did not spend much time outside on the grounds and, of course, could not utilize the pool but our accommodations were sufficient. The property is safe with secured access and the house itself is very stimulating with paintings and sculptures to view throughout the property. The only negatives were that the kitchen in our apartment could have been better supplied with the addition of things like coffee, knives for preparing food, and towels/paper towels for cleanup. Additionally, the photos for the apartment seem to suggest that it was a larger space than it was and there also appeared to be a private balcony/terrace when there was not. It seems that, perhaps, pictures were included of common areas in the room description that made the apartment appear to have more amenities than what it actually did. Other than that, the service was good, the property is beautiful, the location in Barranco is ideal, and the view of the sea was incredible. We would stay here again when traveling to the area and would recommend Second Home if you are looking for a unique stay in the beautiful Barranco area of Lima.

First Time in Lima

I booked three room for a total of 6 people, who were visiting me in Lima from Turkey. All 6 felt the hotel was a great experience, the staff was helpful, and Delfin's artworks combined to make this a great experience.

This is hands-down the most beautiful, unique and memorable hotel I've ever stayed at in any country around the world. The beautiful original artwork on display all over the hotel and grounds by the legendary 96-year-old artist Victor Delfin, who still works and produces art everyday in his on-site studio are even more stunningly beautiful than the cliffside views overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Add in the wonderful hospitality of the owners and staff, large and comfortable rooms, and delicious home-cooked breakfasts and refreshing cocktails from the on-site bar - all at extremely reasonable rates - made our stay at Second Home Peru absolutely extraordinary!

Second Home Peru is an artist’s dream! This stay exceeded my expectations. The staff were amazing, the views were incredible, the immersive art experience was beyond cool, and the surrounding area was perfect. I highly recommend this place to stay when in Lima. We will hopefully be back just so we can stay here again. Many thanks to the whole staff!

Excellent stay, authentic Lima!

Fantastic stay. We absolutely loved it. The house is so interesting and a treasure trove of art. It’s literally a museum of fantastic pieces. The owner, Lilian is a fantastic host and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Would absolutely stay here again. Location is also top notch, great restaurants half a block away. We loved the feel of barranco.

The property was very unique. Beautiful house with beautiful and interesting art and a great view.

A very special place, filled with art by Peruvian artist Delfin. The entire house and its gardens feel somewhat surreal. Our room was very nice with a high ceiling and comfortable bed, though the bathroom was an open design. I’m usually not a great fan of that but it worked, providing airflow through the room. Staff was excellent and very helpful, serving freshly cooked breakfast. My only complaint is that there are few power outlets and unfortunately the floor seemed a little dirty. This is a problem we had elsewhere during our stay in Peru as well.

Oceanside Paradise

We spent four nights in two rooms (our first choice room was already taken for part of our stay.) The staff was attentive and accommodating. They seemed almost clairvoyant, magically appearing to help me with bags when I started by myself. The place was clean throughout, with some amazing sculptures in the courtyard and patio. I don’t think they could have done better.

Loved the location sitting high on the hills of Lima. The staff were excellent and made you feel very welcomed and at ease in Victor Delfin’s home. The only suggest would be to have tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms. Sometimes it would have been pleasant to come back and enjoy a cup of tea on the balcony.

Unique opportunity to stay with a multigenerational family in a beautifully appointed summer home converted to a hotel. The public and private rooms are decorated with the art of a very important Peruvian artist. The bar is warm and friendly. The breakfast overlooking the Pacific Ocean is very special. Pay the extra fee and get the room with the hammock and floor to ceiling glass that lets in the breeze of the Ocean and is sooo relaxing that you will not want to leave your room. Bring a bathing costume, because the pool is cold and an experience all of itself. This is a very special experience.

This is an unusual hotel--more of a guest house--in an excellent location. The views and pool are wonderful, and the neighborhood is great for walking, restaurants, etc.

This place is just like none others. It is absolutely fabulous. Monumental art rt is everywhere. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Location is perfect. A Peruvian Gaudi and Waking Castle like paradise.

What an amazing place. I enjoyed my stay here tremendously. The breakfast was wonderful, the staff was very friendly and helpful and the rooms and galleries and gardens were lovely. Barranco is a great neighborhood with lots of restaurants and easy access to the beach. And, if you like art, this is a paradise. Victor Delfin's work decorates and enhances all the spaces inside and out. Five stars for this great bed and breakfast.

This property is in a wonderful neighborhood with ocean views and a nice green space/park nearby. The hotel is beautiful and unique with interesting art everywhere. I originally booked a room with access to the terrace but ended up switching to a garden view as the room itself had more windows/natural light and there are lots of other decks and outdoor space to enjoy. Staff were very accommodating and held my bags after I checked out until I was ready to go to the airport. A wonderful two night stay.

This place is a must stay, On the ocean it is peaceful, and relaxing, My only regret is that we could not stay longer

Location

Through Expedia we prepaid a twin-bed room on the way driving to Lima around 4pm and arriving at the B&B around 7pm. We got an email from the staff Luis providing airport pick-up service. However, the host did not know our arrival when we rang the bell at the entrance which made us feel unwelcomed. The beautiful main building sits in a pretty garden along a quiet street of downtown Barranco facing the sea, which is a kind of heritage over a hundred years old and needs some update for comfort. The breakfast is warm and homey. The gallery is great. Free parking is good.

Located in the safe neighborhood of Barranca, you are next to all kinds of great things to do...cafes, restaurants, sites and most important surfing!
