The location, just a block from the harbor, was excellent. The room was spacious, and the kitchenette well stocked. The decor was not fancy, but we were comfortable and felt at home, which helped make our stay excellent.

Always a great place to stay, located in the heart of Russell you can walk to the waterfront in a couple of minutes.

The one bedroom apartment has everything you need. It is less than a block from the main street and is conveniently located.

Wonderful!

We loved our stay here, we had a wonderful time. The host was so welcoming and kind you couldn’t ask for more. The bed was comfy and the room was tastefully decorated. The shower and WiFi were great. The location itself couldn’t have been in a better moments from the centre of town. We would love to come back.

Been based in town and close to the ferry wharf no need to drive anywhere. Plenty of food and drink restaurants and bars close.

Very helpful and friendly location was great

Cute, quaint lodge. Had the feel of an island lodge, which it actually is. Be aware that you can to take a 5 minute ferry to get to and from Russell. Ferry price is reasonable. $17 usd round trip. I would say the kitchenette supply did not look clean. I had to buy a sponge (rather than use the used, hairy one under the sink) and scrub all the glasses, dishes, and cutting board before I felt comfortable using it. There also wasn't daily cleaning service.

Laid back, close to village and ferry. Good facilities for cooked breakfast. TV OK.

Excellent chooce

Location was excellent literally a minute from seafront. Accommodation was spacious, well equipped and tastefully decorated. The host was very friendly and helpful. Absolutely perfect.

An interesting building in the charming town of Russell, this is a very convenient place to stay in the town centre. Self-catering facilities are good. The bedroom is small without much storage space. The owner is exceptionally friendly and helpful. No air-consigning which might be a problem at the height of summer - we were there in early November. Overall a reasonable place for the price but the Duke of Marlborough might be an even more interesting and historic choice.

Warm and welcoming

Perfect location in a sleepy little village. Easy walking to restaurants, attractions and passenger ferry. About 8kms drive to vehicle ferry across to Paihia which is a much busier town. Our host was the most welcoming and warm man. Would not hesitate to recommend this accommodation and would love a return visit.

Lovely Inn close to everything in Russell. Manager is wonderful. There when you need anything and lets you have your privacy when you want it. The rooms are a good size with a kitchenette (fridge, kettle, microwave and sink) There is a bit too much furnitre in them though, making it tough to walk around. Owners should consider getting rid of two of the 4 chairs and one of the two tables. Bed is comfortable. Internet is very good - both fast and reliable. The bathroom is nice with a GREAT shower. The rooms could be a bit cleaner. I found a few bugs that looked like roaches in the room and there was debris in the bathroom corner (hair and hairband). I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Russell and would most definitely stay here again.

Great suite & great location!

The suites are beautifully designed with elegant yet charming furnishings. Baden makes you feel so welcome & goes out of his way to make your stay special. I love that you are close to the shops, bars & restaurants as well as the waterfront, for a wander down the wharf or to catch a fishing charter or trip around the Bay. One of the best places to stay in Russell, very reasonably priced & high quality accommodation.

Cosy room in ideal location.

Perfect location in the town centre, friendly staff, clean, tidy and cosy. Everything you need.

Couldn't have picked a better place to stay and enjoy Russell. The property is just back of the main street and a block from the waterfront. We had a spacious, ground-floor room, with parking right outside. There was a comfortable seating area, dining table and chairs, nice bed with superior linens and pillows, a fully stocked kitchen with full-size stove/oven and fridge, as well as microwave and electric kettle. Bathroom was also spacious with excellent shower. There is a pub next door (across a parking lot) and some rooms may be bothered by the music, but we were not and the music ended at a reasonable time. We slept well. A short walk to all the restaurants, jetty and grocery store. Also walked from the hotel to Flagstaff Hill and back easily. A real winner!

First class location and first class accommodation.

We really enjoyed our stay and Baden the manager/ owner was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, the bed comfortable. Seaport Village is centrally locates & very well maintained. We loved our visit & were sad to leave

Great staff & location

Friendly staff - really went out of the way to welcome us, didn’t seem like they had a “customer service hat” on, just genuinely nice people running it. Right next to the Duke pub, and right in the middle of town - excellent location.

Excellent location in Russell town centre

Arrived late was not a problem. Was offered an upgrade when I informed I thought I had a balcony off room. I decided to use original cottage booked, it was very cosy, quiet and private. Checking out was quick and easy also. Loved their local dog also, very friendly.

Great time in Russell

Our stay in Russell was wonderful - Seaport Village is in a fabulous location, very close to everything and our room looked directly down the road to the wharf in Russell.

A great location.

Situated in a quiet street back from the hustle and bustle of the beautiful village. The room was spotless clean and comfortable. Braden was very helpful and friendly and nothing any trouble.. Village a short stroll away with excellent restaurants and coffee shops.

Great little rooms in the heart of Russell - amazing and accommodating staff . Great value and close to everything. My only grumble ( and others may have found it a blessing) was the hard bed. Maybe having some bambiillo toppers available could be a solution. Overall a great little holiday in a lovely spot.

a very good place to stay

Russell is a lovely town and Seaport Village is right in the centre. You do not need your own vehicle here as not only is it accessible to the beach, shops, cafes, and restaurants but it's minutes from the ferries that frequently travel between Russell and Paihia and Waitangi.

Very central

2mins walk to supermarket and 4 different take aways. Studio C faces car park so good for unloading cars but rather public breakfast outside. Kitchen equipment lacked cafetiere and cheese grater but could have asked. Clean and towels changed.

Another great stay at Seaport Village!! The standard friendly welcome and even a room upgrade!! We were stoked!! Great location, staff and everything you would need!! Will be back!!

Great Location and Friendly Host

We spent 5 nights here over the Christmas holiday and had a fantastic time. The suite was clean and well appointed and there was even a dishwasher! Two bedrooms with plenty of room throughout. Beds were comfortable and the bathroom was spacious. The balcony had a good view of the water over a couple of rooftops. Our host for Seaport Village was Baden who made us feel very welcome. We were even included in a great Christmas day pot-luck dinner with other visitors and Baden's family and local friends. It made it a really special visit for our family. I would highly recommend Seaport Village and hope to return in the not too distant future.

Our 2nd time at Seaport Village. Best customer care of our whole 2 week NZ trip. Baden the Manager (of 20 years) is caring and helpful. Rooms luxurious, very clean and well appointed. Could not find a fault.

We had a lovely 4 night stay. The manager was pleasant and willing to make our stay comfortable. Our apartment was large, clean, well furnished, breezy and quiet. We highly recommend this accommodation.

Absolutely wonderful apartment, in the centre of town close to restaurants and the sea, but very quiet. The host was brilliant. Would definitely recommend.

Cute and clean motel

Nice motel well located, 5min walk to Russell's wharf to get on the ferry, an 1 min walk to Main street with restaurants, shops and sea. Our room had a recently renovated kitchen and bathroom with everything we needed. Felt more like a hotel than motel, which I guess is expected considering the price. A nice stay.

Great spot, decent rooms

The hotel is set in the heart of Russell within minutes walks of everything you need. The owner / manager is extremely friendly, the place is well appointed and clean. The only downside was the noise from the pub next door on the first night but it was a one off for a visiting band!

This hotel is very convenient to get the nice restaurants and wharf.

Excellent place to stay in Russell

A great location in the middle of town and close to the beach. Beautiful accommodation, very clean and well appointed. Friendly and competent staff.

A great spot, but the room smelled a bit like an elderly smoker.

We had a great stay. It was a very hot day I never the magnificent Bay of Islands but the ceiling fan cooled our room down to a very comfortable sleeping temperature. The crisp linen also added to our comfort. The pub behind us was is full swing on this Saturday night but once we had closed our door we heard nothing ! I would definitely book again
