2nd Time Around
This was the second time I stayed at this hotel and this time I noticed it wasn't as clean as the first time. (E.g. hair stuck to the bathroom sink on the bedding that wasn't ours.) Overall, it's a good hotel in a convenient location.
I stay here many time. Great service great owner safe quick to everything.
This hotel itself was fine for the price. It was quiet and easy to access and book. However for a budget stay it was surrounded by others that I didn’t see on this app. The strangest thing though is that they require a $50 CASH deposit to cover incidentals. When I was checking out, the lady took my key card and said thank you and started to walk away. I asked about the deposit and she seemed confused. She said there’s nobody to check the room and asked if I could come back later. I only stayed in the room overnight and didn’t smoke or have pets. This is extremely sketchy and I’m sure people either forget or don’t ask and the hotel keeps the $50. All in all I will not stay at this hotel again and won’t recommend it.
Excellent i will come back in 2 months time
good location and quiet.
Ac never turn off. Too loud…
The room was decent, our a/c barely worked and was super noisy. The smoke detector had the battery door open and it was missing. Other than that it was fairly quiet and cheap.
Very Happy
Very clean and comfortable room. Went for a class reunion and it was a perfect location to stay.
The rooms have an ant infestation issue. I left my shirt on a couch at night and in the morning tried putting it on not having seen the ants yet, my whole body swarmed with ants and now I have a bunch of ant bites on my upper body. I had to throw my clothes out because of how many ants there were.
They are very rude
They are very money hungry They complain about everything. There's no free Breakfast on the website It says free breakfast there isn't any
It is a unique place
This property is a hidden GEM!! Much better than most of it's competitors here in Killen by a long shot. HUGE 1Bedroom with plenty of space. A very well set up Roomy Desk with a very comfortable chair. And a lounge chair in the room. SUPER SUPER Clean!!! The Staff is Remarkable and Personable. Attentive to any questions or needs. Nice flooring, all around one of the Finest home away from home hotels in Killeen. Walmart, Walgreen's HEB Food Store. A couple of minutes walk from the hotel. Always on point
Stayed here a few times. Best bang for your buck when you need a last minute stay. No complaints what so ever
Great place
Very clean, it has been updated. Comfortable rooms
Very friendly staff and don’t talk too much. Clean comfortable room
Clean and spacious.
The chair and the luggage seat material was nasty with stains and dirt, they needed steam cleaned. I would not sit on either. Overall though, it was a fairly comfortable stay.
Good
I come into town regularly and always stay here. The staff is helpful and always available. The parking area is well-lit, and I feel like my car is safe. It's in a great location, just outside the parking lot of HEB (large grocery store), and there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Rooms are fairly clean, but not perfect. Wi-Fi works great. There is no coffee. At all. None in the rooms or in the lobby. I buy a large cup of coffee the night before, store it in the mini fridge, and microwave it in the morning. Other than the coffee issue, no complaints at all. This will continue to be my go-to place when I'm in town.
Very nice stay !
Rooms are very dirty
Very professional staff it's worth the stay
Wonderful
the friendly and efficient staff was great.
Great value for the price
Affordable and close to Ft. Cavazos. Felt safe and secure as a solo female traveler.
NO COFFEE
Check in was great Our room was being cleaned when We got there We had to wait 10 min but We got there at 2pm. The Bed squeaked But that was our fault. The paint was falling off the ceiling in bathroom but you could see they were doing repairs to it. It was a easy in and easy out and a Comfortable stay for the price. We will stay there again. Oh and the smell of food being cooked in the lobby Made Me Hungry. The only negative I have to say is they don't have coffee pot in Room and don't offer it in the Lobby.
Great people. Clean room
Very nice, clean quiet
My husband has been working in Ft Hood. Different places he’s stayed have been terrible. This place was clean, quiet and the lady in the front office has been so sweet to him. It helps having someone nice while he’s away from family.
The front desk lady on Monday night was very rude and made me feel dumb for asking a question about check in cut off. Didn’t even acknowledge my thank you and was silent then hung up the phone. Customer service is everything to me as I work in that industry. You lost a guest because of this and I went somewhere else! Thank god I didn’t pay online.
Overall, it was a pretty nice hotel. Stayed for 5 days in a non-smoking single occupancy room and had no problems. The room was clean and did not smell of smoke. The AC worked (thank goodness cause the heat outside was unbearable). The staff was nice and understanding of my situation; I had a pretty late flight and had arrived to check in at a later than usual check-in time. I did call ahead of time so I think that helped make understanding my situation a bit better. Would definitely stay here again.
Meeting stop
We loved this hotel location and price and room service. I wish they have coffee making stuff. no breakfast is fine but coffee would be nice.
This was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The housekeeping staff was wonderful. It lacked the little touches that make hotels fun: like coffee, continental breakfast, bottled water, extra toiletries, etc. But for the price, it was adequate.
We stayed a Friday night and surprisingly, it was quiet and quite vacant. The check in person was also the check out person. We weren't charged the $50 cash deposit as we were non smokers and did not have a pet. She was friendly. Lobby was clean. We asked for a room on the 2nd floor and we received it. There is an old elevator. The hallways were warm and smelled of stale smoke, but the room was clean, updated and spacious. All appliances worked. Wifi was fine. There was some wear and tear on some furniture, and a random hair here and there, but nothing extreme. The bed was big and had soft sheets and blankets, but was too firm for us. AC worked quickly and cold, and worked as a great white noise, but once the set temperature was reached, it would shut off for several minutes...then come on again. Very annoying. Window was dirty, smoke alarm had no battery, shower water pressure was low, but temp was good. Ice maker downstairs worked. Parking was plentiful. Area was safe with many shopping/dining options, some walkable. Overall, would recommend, although the price could definitely be less for what you get. B-
The front staff was very nice to my daughter, this was her first trip and they helped her enjoy it for sure!! Great place for the $$.
Price
Military family visit
Just needed a quick 2 night stay and wasn't really around the hotel much but room was clean looks just like the picture actually. Bed was springy maybe a bit worn but no probably sleeping on it. The window ac kept it perfect temp didn't even need the covers for the most part. Definitely was worth the price. If you are visiting family on base and just need a place to stay this is a good price for sure.
I travel often due to my job requirements. I was so very pleased with this property from the clean and inviting lobby, and especially my very clean and cozy room. It was so nice to just feel comfortable and rest with no worries. The bathroom was ultra clean, the eheets were fresh, and the hotel was nice and quiet. I actually slept an hour over checkout!! The staff was so nice about it and seemed glad i got some good zzzzs;) i willl go back everytime im near kileen tx.
Very clean and easy to get to. Price was good but just disappointed that I only had time to stay one night.
Only issue with the hotel is the smell in the lobby. Very strong smell of garlic and cooking. I suggest they separate the cooking area from the common general public area
Rude staff
When I got to the property they tried to charge me a cash deposit and claimed that it was on the post and when I proved to them it was not they were not happy and could not collect it. The rooms are very out dated and not very clean and the staff is very rude
The price was reasonable and property was clean
The staff ate the best in the world
The bathrooms look like they obly tried covering mold with paint.. you could tell they dont clean the floors or any areas.. like headboard had lots of hand marks all around. I likes that i could park my car right in front of my window.
The mattress felt like springs.old and dirt.I could not sleep.loud music playing had to call front desk.towel we're dirty.sheets look like they were old as dirt.lady at front desk not friendly.
Great place
The people managing the property are fount a great job. The lady called me to check to make sure i knew where i booked. Bad thing: The hall on the 2nd floor smelled like smoke Great things: Nice people running the place Very very clean room Clean coming in Felt safe Great pricing Would stay here again in a second
The cleaning of the bed was very dirty at the head on the sheets but when was told they clean it right of way. good service over all will stay again if need be.
Great Stay
The room and lobby was clean and well kept. I will definitely be staying again.
The people at desk were good.
Staff was micro-managing. A lady came out and asked my husband if he had a room there and told him he did not park his car within the lines which was not true, he just didn’t park the way she wanted him to. Also when he was bringing items to our room with the cart he did not bring it back quickly enough for staff and the man called our room and said “bring cart back “ when my husband answered the phone and hung up. The staff does not have people skills and we will not be staying here again.
Great Stay
Very fast check in. Convenient parking spaces. Very clean.
A hidden gem
Booking the Scottish Inn through Hotels.com merely reserves your room. The hotel will actually process your payment. This should be outlined better on the Hotels.com website. I do not fault the hotel for this. The front desk staff are extremely helpful and friendly. There are 2 floors to the hotel and it looks to have been renovated recently. The rooms have hardwood flooring so dropped items on the 2nd floor are amplified, particularlly to those staying on the 1st floor, as I was. The hotel offers both smoking and non-smoking rooms, a rarity these days. The AC unit was properly working and the water pressure is forceful. The provided bar soap in the bathroom is something to be desired as it breaks apart the moment one lathers up. The TV is on the small end at 32 inches. I also can't stress how clean and quiet the hotel is. They do not collect for incidentals; however a $150 charge will be collected if you smoke in a non-smoking room. The bed seemed to be on the firm end of the spectrum, which I prefer and the pillows were soft and comfortable. The hotel is locked down starting at 9 p.m. for security reasons although I do not consider the area the hotel is in to be one of high crime. i highly recommend the Scottish Inn for your next low-frills hotel stay.
Location was good.
Everything was good 👍
Quiet and good stay. No breakfast though but would come again.
Good economic hotel
Staff was polite and helpful. Rooms were comfortable. No coffee maker in room and no breakfast. Overall good economy hotel.
Clean and comfortable.
Very good value. Clean and comfortable. Staff is very nice. Efficient. Our second stay and we will return I am sure. Highly recommended.
Felt very comfortable, room was clean. No complaints.
Worst experience ever!
The sheets were dirty and the bathroom was dirty. I chose a non smoking room but the room smelled like smoke and mildew. Will never come back here!
Although the room was pretty clean it smelled funky inside and outside. Something should be done about the smell.
needed an early check in so we went nextdoor to motel 6
People extremely loud nxt door to our room having sex all evening, all night & loudly in the early morning. Housekeeping was asked for multiple towels & only given one. The vents In the ceiling are extremely dusty & is a fire hazard & also a hole in the bathroom above the mirror where the light is with wires showing & moisture can get to the wires bc there’s no way for the exhaust vent to do it’s job. Only 1 roll of toilet paper & there was no continental breakfast
Clean, and staff sweet. Only thing there was no complimentary coffee downstairs or in room.
Relatively inexpensive (relatively!) but the 50 deposit in cash was interesting and when upon departure I asked how they would return it the answer was, "Oh, you deposited $50?" - then the paperwork was discovered and eventually the cash returned - that kind of thing is annoying since it should be a transparent transaction. The room was fine, water pressure great, amenities limited but then COVID and all that. Location solid - near stores and the highway. We are all struggling these days so I give Scottish Inn props for their effort.
Hotel staff friendly and easy to work with. Will return.
Great deal for great price
We checked in late due to a family emergency the lady checking me and my father in was so rude , when handing my dad back his card she just threw it through the whole , needless to say we won’t be back
I've stayed here several times, and I'll keep going back. The location is great, wi-fi works well, rooms are clean, and you can't beat the price. However, when I showed up for my most recent stay, they told me they now require a $50 refundable cash deposit. They want actual cash, not a card. This fee isn't shown in the Orbitz listing. They agreed to waive it when I told them I didn't have $50 cash on me, but they said next time I would need to pay it. The Orbitz listing states daily housekeeping, but they're not doing that anymore. Also, if you're a coffee drinker, be aware there is no coffee anywhere on the premises.
Thank you so supplying twice that we were there were things that were not her fault at all at the very end they apologized for the inconvenience! The food is still an old do not eat it.
Not so good
The room wasn’t fully cleaned properly and the worker kept just walking into my room while I was there without reason or permission
Just what you need for a simple stay
.
Good stay!
Always enjoy staying here. Close to where I want to be and convenient to stores, restaurants and other things. Easy to get to and reasonably priced.
Easy checking in
Very cozy and quiet
It was a nice place to stay. Quiet safe and close to everything
No coffee available in the lobby or rooms. Very dated.
It was close to the eating places
It was quiet and cozy. And the black out curtains were really nice for lazy days off
Great but racist
Great hotel for the price. My only gripe was I had to put down a $50 deposit upon arrival at the motel even though I booked on Hotel.com. I guess cause I’m black and had dreads the owner racial profiled me. And I know the deposit wasn’t the norm because upon checkout when I handed the owner’s wife the key card she walked off and said goodbye as if that was it. I had to call her back over to ask about my deposit.
I left neutral because when i arrived to find out they didn't charge card (my room was booked for me) so i couldn't get a room at all because the booking was my name but payment wasn't taken so i had to show a card that i did not have..he says we dont charge because its Expedia ..smh..never had problem with Expedia maybe his customer service needs work..end up booking right across at motel 6..with same method no problem..thanks Scottish
Excelent service. Cleaness.
Clean and Comfortable
The hotel room was clean and comfortable. There was only one-quarter roll of toilet tissue and no spare roll. This was quickly remedied with a quick trip to the front desk. The ice bucket had no lid. When we checked out, there was no one at the front desk. Overall, I would stay here again.
Good Stay
The front desk service was not particularly good or bad. They did not greet me warmly, but they were not rude either. The room was clean and comfortable with adequate seating. The bed was fairly comfortable, and the air conditioner kept the room cold while being a good source of white noise to help me sleep. They have cable, but I did not find a channel listing. The wifi signal is strong. Soap, shampoo, and conditioner were provided just in case you forgot to bring your own. My only complaint was that my smoke free room smelled like a pack of cigarettes.
Very good security
This was only a one night stay for my son and husband. They arrived at 12am and left that morning. No one is at the front desk when you arrive. T
Friendly & helpful service. Returned for a second night.
It's OK
It was worth the cost. Clean and comfortable. Noisy throughout the night during my 3 night stay. I would be inclined to pay more for little nicer accommodations on my next trip to Killeen.
While the staff was friendly the facility felt rundown and seedy. Also smelled funny. But the worst experience was the internet whic was so outdated although fast my Mac constantly warned me not to open applications like youtube. I couldnt update my Kaspersky internet security because somehow they prevented it. Finally i ended up using my phone as acces point.
Quick overnight stay
Booked last minute. Best dollar value hotel ever. Owner was nice, room was clean, bed was firm and comfortable.
everything was just perfect
Good customer service
The hotel was clean in appearance and they provided good customer service.
Very hard openind doors to get into hotel in a wheelchair
No lotion and no coffee maker.
They wouldn't rent the after i paid thru hotels .cocrooks
The hotel was dirty and had a very bad odor. I had to wash the ice bucket from my room before I used it because it had stuff in it.
I’m a stranger here myself
Just passing through
The good: the owners were great. Very nice and accommodating. Well lit parking lot. The not so good: The beds were in poor shape. The mattresses are very worn out. They probably should have been replaced many years ago. The chairs and luggage seat were pretty filthy. Sketchy people periodically hanging around outside and I guess they are staying on the second floor since that is the smoking floor. There are better places in the area to stay for the price.
