It was ok. Could find better for the money. Loud at night. Not much for ventilation in the rooms.

Had a great stay here and a great base for the area, the staff were very friendly l, would recommend for anyone looking for a place to stay in the area

Lovely helpful staff and a really good breakfast.

The staff at Schillings were very helpful and kind! The breakfast was excellent (especially all of the different fruit options), and the common areas (including a garden!) were very nice.

Great stay with wonderful staff. Conveniently located just steps away from the main Street of el Calafate.

Bathroom was poorley clenaed, it has a lot of hairs on the floor which was disgfusting. Some of the staff were really friendly and some really unfriendly. but overal it was a good place to stay.

The best hostel I have stayed during my trip in Patagonia. The accomodation but also the stuff is beyond the expectations, they gave me such good tips and local insights. If I will come back in the region I would definitely book there again!

Lo recomiendo, cerca de un supermercado, de los restaurantes y de la calle principal, fácil de caminar. Los desayunos están ricos y la encargada de la cocina es muy amable y servicial.

Ramirez was helpful and welcoming Margo , Frederic were wonderful! Guadalupe made the best eggs and put on a nice breakfast spread.

Lovely place to stay! A short walk away from the Main Street, awesome helpful friendly staff, and a very chill atmosphere.

Great location. Great front desk service. Rooms are old and can be loud (sounds of cars driving driving by) if they are located next to the street

Flintstones bed rest

The worst beds EVER!! They are so hard it’s like sleeping on rocks. Breakfast was mediocre and the lady that serves has the worst attitude. Bathroom was tiny and bedroom was so warm we had to open the window. Best to stay somewhere else.

Excellent location to supermarket, money exchange. Staffs were extremely friendly. But we had to move to another room after one night, very loud from street noises and extremely thin walls. If next door neighbors stay up late, you can’t sleep as you hear every noises, alarm ringing. But the staffs were extremely friendly and helpful in everything.

A great base for el calafate

Really friendly staff that speak good English. They were very helpful in setting up tours and transport and offered better prices than surrounding agencies. Shower was a bit temperamental but all in all great value and good location.

Helpful but run down

Front desk is extremely helpful but the facility is run down and not clean (especially the back area where the refrigerators and small courtyard are). The single beds are too small and move around easily (not very heavy beds). They're not standard size twin beds. The location is great though, very close to town. Breakfast is the same every day and not much to be desired.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Tremendous value for your $$. We highly recommend this place. Just know place does feel a bit like a hostel. The walls are thin and the breakfast was very basic (though they do provide scrambled eggs upon request). However, the beds are very comfortable. There’s also a kitchen if you feel like cooking abd they have the best staff who’ve helped us with taxis, places to eat, etc., etc. DO NOT pay in advance. Wait till you get there and pay in pesos (they give an excellent exchange rate so you save A LOT). We were happy with our 3 nights there.

Thank you all for making my stay such a wonderful one! If I go back, I would love to stay with you again.

Great place to stay close to town!

We had a great stay at Schilling. The hosts here are the best! They know everything and really help you make the most of your trip to Patagonia. I would definitely come back again. It is really close to the town and they serve eggs with breakfast which is really nice since so many places only do toast and coffee.

Helpful stuff to provide advice for our questions. They provide lunch box for day hikes. The meat sandwich we got from the hotel is the best in our 2 weeks of hiking try

Comfortable and convenient

Great vibe and staff. The facilities are basic, but functional and clean. Very close to the main street through town. We stayed there several days, enjoying the included breakfast each morning and used their laundry service once. Great hostel!

In town Calefate

Good central location and value for money though hostel style. Our room had good facilities and staff were very helpful.

Lovely hostel

Very friendly hostel in a great location. It is a 5 minute walk to the main business district with loads of restaurants and shopping. Nothing in the hostel is new, but everything is clean and they go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable. I used their laundry service and they helped me with some travel logistics. the breakfast in the morning has basic toast and cakes typical of Argentina but also fresh scrambled eggs. I stayed here 4 nights and would stay here again.

Brilliant hostel.

Brilliant hostel. We booked a private room. Breakfast was included and was good for the price. Staff were very helpful with booking tours. Would recommend. We were a couple aged 55 and 67.

Good location re the center of El Calafate. Some outside noise. A lot of inside noise. Management should put sponge around the room door frames to minimize the noise of door banging when closed. Walls are very thin (seem thin) because we could hear everything going on in the adjacent room. The breakfast egg chef was not at her station, she was having coffee talking with the receptionist. We did not use the wifi.

Better options may be available

Great family place to stay!

Great location in El Calafete, about 5 minute walk to downtown and 25 minute walk to Lago Argentina. The buses to El Chalten will pick you up at the hostel. The bus station is a 5 minute taxi ride from the bus station. Helpful and friendly bilingual staff have great recommendations and will help book tours, taxis, buses, etc. we were traveling with a 15 month baby and they have cribs available. This was our second stay here in a couple of years and it was excellent both times!

Excellent hostel, great value for money

Double room with private bathroom was excellent, perfect for a travelling couple. Room was clean, well heated and shower was good. It was also excellent value for money. Staff were very helpful in assisting with booking buses to El Chalten, and also gave us 10% discount coupon for our trip to the Glaciarium (which is well worth a visit to learn more about glaciers before you go to Perito Moreno). There is communal kitchen access from midday until 10pm which is great for those looking to cook themselves - they have multiple gas hobs and two ovens. The communal area is also welcoming with a variety of board games and puzzles to keep you entertained. Breakfast consisted of toast and jams, yoghurt, scrambled eggs, and also a selection of cakes. Breakfast started at 6.30am but the staff were very accommodating in allowing for an even earlier start time if necessary for those who had an early bus or an early tour booked in the morning.

Convenient location and friendly staff. Clean basic place to stay. We had a room with a double bed and private bathroom. Staff helpful in arranging excursions.

Homey and welcoming

The staff is very helpful and I love that the kitchen is available. I stayed in a dorm for three nights and a single for one night, each were comfortable and clean. The showers are dated but the water was always warm.

a little expensive for what you get

It was a fine guesthouse, but definitely a little pricey for what you got. The common areas were well maintained and comfortable. The included breakfast was one of the best we had in Patagonia (eggs!). Hot water intermittent and the hotel had strange rules, wouldn’t even let a friend of ours come into our room for a few minutes before heading out on a hike. We felt a bit like we were sneaking around if we asked if anything slightly out of ordinary. Perfect location in Chalten and easy access to main hiking trails.

Enjoyable stay in El Calafate

The hostel is located near the main street, restaurants and businesses. The staff is very helpful and internet works quite well for Patagonia! Also, common areas are actually nice to hang out/work and the kitchen is clean and well equipped. We had a room for two which was quite spacious, but it could have been a little warmer.

Stayed for three days

I liked the communal kitchen; dishes for cooking, cutlery, stove was provided and it appeared that everyone cleaned up after themselves. People were very helpful and shared excursion stories. Stuff was very welcoming and assisted with making reservations and providing suggestions on where to go, where to shop. The furniture in the communal area is a little "tired", but otherwise, this hostel fit exactly our expectation. We especially liked the little inner garden with the cherry trees.

Charming but basic

The staff is friendly and helpful. The building has a nice character. The breakfast was mediocre and repetitive. What is really, really needed are hooks in bedroom and bathroom to keep clothing off the floor.

Great place to stay in El Calafate

We stayed here for two nights during our trip to Patagonia. The location is great: it's one block away from the main drag (Avenida Libertador) but was removed enough that it wasn't too busy or loud. Our room was simple but comfortable, two twin beds with a private bathroom. Pretty clean overall and good shower pressure. The real highlight of Schilling is the staff, which are very knowledgeable and friendly (especially Antonella). She helped us to book a bus trip to Perito Moreno with pick up from the hostel itself, so we didn't have to make a separate trip to the bus terminal. Only con is that the wifi in the room was not that reliable. Overall, we would highly recommend staying here during a visit to El Calafate!

This is a family run hostel. The space is Amazing. Open. Inviting. The family that runs it could not have been any nicer. A part of me wanted to stop traveling and stay there for a while. Best place I’ve stayed in a long time.

Visit to El Calafate

The staff was friendly and very helpful with directions and restaurant recommendations. Rooms were basic but had everything one would needfor a stay. They had a nice lobby in which to sit and chat with other guests.

A great hostel to stay in. central El Calafate

A great breakfast and very warm hostel. Clean and easy to walk everywhere. We had a private room but you can get a shared dorm if you want. What makes it so great are the friendly staff who helped us and were so kind. Hats off to Antonella, ,Ramiro and Gabriella. gracias !!!

Sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal, das auch bei der Tourbuchung hilft. Das Frühstück ist super, es gibt eine gute Auswahl, vor allem auch vegane Aufstriche. Das Zentrum mit Restaurants und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten ist nur 5 min zu Fuß entfernt. Es gibt nette Aufenthaltsmöglichkeiten im Hostel und die Zimmer sind geräumig und haben alles, was man braucht und sind gut durchdacht mit vielen Ablagemöglichkeiten.

Está muy cerca del centro de todo, El servicio es bueno y el ambiente muy padre. En realidad precio calidad, muy bien. Recomendable

施設は綺麗できちんと掃除されており、タオル交換もしてくれました。 ただし、コンセントの差し口が少なく、またシャワーの水圧が弱すぎて満足にシャワーできませんでした。サービスもいいですし、朝食も温かいスクランブルエッグを出してくれた分残念です

O hostel é bem localizado porém as condições do banheiro deixam a desejar. Muito vazamento nas torneiras e descarga do banheiro. Água com pouca pressão no chuveiro e não esquentava Fiz algumas reclamações mas não houve solução definitiva Limpeza razoável, cabelos no banheiro Café da manhã mais natural, não agrada a todo paladar e deveria ser informado na reserva e descrição do hostel. Funcionários atenciosos

Simplicidade com aconchego

Hospedagem aconchegante com atendimento cordial e afetuoso. Cafe da manha simples, mas feito com cuidado e com opcao de ovos feitos na hora. Contam com areas de convivência e cozinha compartilhada, muito pratico para preparar lanche para os passeios. O quarto é muito simples, nao tinha persiana, mas alguns tem, peça no check-in. Fica a duas quadras da avenida principal. Na quadra acima do hotel ha dois mercadinhos com boa variedade de frutas

Excelente Hostel en Calafate

Bello hostel, rústico pero cómodo y en excelente estado, la ubicación cerca de la calle central y comercios. Quienes atienden super amables y colaboran en todo lo que solicitas para guiarte en la ciudad, excursiones y me ayudaron a coordinar el transporte al aeropuerto de manera rápida. Me quedaría nuevamente. Lo recomiendo

ESPECTACULAR

Excelente! Atención, amabilidad, paciencia, Predisposición y dispuestos a hacerte pasar unos días espectaculares. Están en todos los detalles: te prestan tappers para las excursiones q no incluyen viandas, desayuno (super completo) desde las 6.30 hs porq hay excusiones q te pasan a buscar a las 7 am, servicio de lavandería muy bueno, cocina muy bien equipada, té y cafè libre todo el día, tienen excursiones para venderte ahí en caso q llegues a ultima hora cuando todo está cerrado como fue mi caso para q no pierdas el día, etc etc etc. Habitaciones limpias, calefaccionadas y colchon muy cómodo. No dudaría en volver a Schilling si vuelvo a Calafate, realmente como en casa me sentí.

Deux nuits sympa

Nous sommes restes deux nuits dans cette auberge de jeunesse. Les communs sont géniaux, le service est parfait. Nous étions en chambre pour couple. Bon rapport qualité-prix

部屋のwifi接続が不安定だったのが残念だが、スタッフが親切でこちらの要望にも真摯に対応してくれた。

Easy Calafate

La struttura è molto carina, situata alle spalle della Avenida libertador che é la via principale. La struttura é dotata di un'ampia zona comune e anche una zona cucina. La colazione potrebbe essere migliorata con più varietà o con un poco di frutta. Gli asciugamani nonostante lasciati sul pavimento non sono stati cambiati.

中心地からも近く、昼食のお弁当もUS7ドルでお願いできました。お湯も問題なくでたので、満足です。

Auberge de jeunesse sympa, centrale, un peu chère

L'auberge est bien située à une rue de la rue principale. Il faut toutefois grimper la côte, comme souvent dans la région. Belle chambre pour cette catégorie. Bonne literie. Salle de bain agréable, eau chaude nickel. On a trouvé le chauffage un peu juste et on a ajouté une couverture. Beau décor des parties communes. Tout est très propre. Jardin ideal pour boire un coup ou un café. Thé et café en libre service. Le personnel est sympathique et disponible pour fournir les renseignements sur les excursions, les bus etc...La cuisine commune est correcte, mais pas d'épluche légumes et une odeur de gaz un peu forte. Bref une bonne auberge tournant de longue date, mais profitant de sa renommée pour pratiquer des prix plus (un peu trop) élevés que des établissements comparables. Prix des boissons (coca, bouteilles d'eau) excessifs.
