Great location and vista. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Overall is the best place to stay in Niue, just a little bit disappointed about the fishing charter booking, even though everything seems confirmed before we are heading to the wharf. Unfortunately, we couldn't get on the trip due to the miscommunication between the resort and the skipper who mentioned the resort hasn't come back to him on time which was unreal. It's a little pity of our holiday. Other than that, we highly recommend this resort to the others.

Loved our stay in Niue! Staff were helpful, and great that the resort restaurant was open 7 days. Would have been great to have access to a vacuum or broom. During our stay as with visits to the beach and walks, the floor got a bit dirty.

Beautiful apartments and scenery out by the ocean. One thing, the wifi coverage was very slack. Out of our 4 days there, we probably only got to use it for 15 mins at the most on one day.

Loved our stay here,very friendly staff and wow what a location.We were made to feel so welcome from the moment we arrived...if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle i couldn't recommend Scenic Matavai highly enough.

The setting is certainly amazing and worth experiencing

We stayed in apartment 3, the view's and the sound of the waves were amazing. Our only issues we had were... 1. The shower head was very dirty as was the toilet, we had not used any of these at this stage. 2. The attachment to the showerhead needed tightening as it spent most of our stay cleaning my feet, if you turned the pressure on to high it would lift the showerhead and spray water on to the walls out of the shower catching you off guard. 3. The pool was murky, pool deck broke under my husbands feet. The boards are rotting. 4. Get a good car. The potholes are challenging to say the least, you hear it takes an hour and a half, it took us 3 hours. All that aside, we would do it all over again, the people are friendly. The local kids performances were beautiful. Thank you for a great experience.

Best resort in Niue

Great place. Excellent pick up and drop off service to the airport.

Constant aural torment from chickens roaring right outside your room starting at 3am. Every day, for hours.

Central resort was good, however the apartment, where we stayed, was not serviced well. Housekeeping was hit and miss, no wifi in the room, the pool was not always clean.

We enjoyed our stay very much. Would recommend to anyone who wants a quiet getaway.

A week that went too quickly.

The only resort of any size on Niue island, it is a very relaxing and enjoyable environment; comfortable with out being over the top......it really adopts the island experience. Great team that seem only too willing to assist and give advice. wonderful decks for daytime relaxing or nighttime dining. Something entertaining happening each night which is excellent as if you dont have a rental car on Niue you cant really go anywhere as there is no public transport. Nice tropical breakfast, good evening menu. Great pool bar with excellent cocktails.

Pleasant place to stay

We stayed at the resort primarily out of convenience. We found everything to be more than adequate for our needs, but not fancy. Restaurant food was good, especially on umu night. (Many thanks for the bottle of sparkling wine, to help me celebrate my 70th). Pool was a great alternative on days when conditions made ocean snorkeling difficult. Full marks to the staff, who were always helpful and friendly. Recommend getting an upstairs Ocean room as the views are good. I suspect the ground level rooms could feel a bit less private. Also recommend the orientation tour as an introduction to the island. Rent a car, both for convenience and the experience of "pothole slalom" .

A good break away with no frills

The hotel needs a bit of R&M in places esp the rooms. They need to be checked more often for faults

Hotel is build on huge coral cliffs.Because of that the beach is not accessible.There are however swimming pools. The hotel is about 5 km from the capital. If you do not rent a car the very friendly staff Will shuttle you to “down town Alofi.(= capital).There are NO ATM MACHINES. The only bank does not change foreign currency,so you must have NEW ZEALAND DOLLARS on you. At some places credit cards are accepted. The islands of Samoa and Tonga are about 500 km away,but There are NO flights from Niue to these islands.The ONLY FLIGHTS are the biweekly Airbus flights to AUCKLAND. If you want Some quiet time and do things like sending a POSTCARD,using Niue stamps,or renting a car in a country that has no traffic lights,and where the speedlimit is 25 Miles an hour GO TO NUIE.You CAN even get a Niue driving license ( showing your foreign one,and costs you NZ$ 22,50).A

Great resort in a beautiful location

As soon as we arrived we felt welcome, the resort looked stunning and the staff we very friendly. During our stay we ate at the restaurant everyday either for breakfast or dinner. The menu was fine but could have a bit more choice, after seven days it got a bit boring. The staff were lovely and always polite, some lacked training as they did not understand some basic requests. The lsland is wonderful and we had a great time exploring and meeting the beautiful people of Nuie

Lovely Resort

We had a wonderful stay at the resort in Niue. All the staff were incredibly helpful, the room and facilities had amazing views, and the food was great.

Great place to snorkel and eat fresh local produce.Definitely need rental car to get to lagoons and walks.

Hotel was comfortable but feeling a bit tired and staff had to be asked to do simple things like removing dirty dishes and changing towels. Happy hour was a bit of a myth when it takes 45 minutes to get your cocktail. Mostly small cereal boxes, tinned fruit and white bread for breakfast :(

Spend a little more and get the cliff top rooms you won't be disappointed!! Amazing place will definitely go back

Beautiful country, beautiful resort

The resort has just been refurbished and expanded and it was absolutely fantastic. There are brand new facilities and our rooms had insect screens over the entire windows and doors which was nice for the temperate evenings!

Great Hotel, views fantastic but food is terrible

We had a great time, pools were great but lacked any sunbeds, some of the staff are friendly, food was terrible - but we didn't expect great food anyway. There is plenty of cafes and restaurants around the island to go to and the resort dropped you off and pick up up which was fantastic. We would definitely go back (Just don't have any expectations). The island is not yet commercialized but is going to be soon with the Chinese coming into complete the roads which are full of pot holes!

This resort is great but be careful.

The resort was great however we were not informed of the construction and maintenance work on at the time of our visit. Incentives were also not given say for a day out given the construction noise which was a nuisance for poolside or even inroom relaxation. The managers are also not flexible and discretion not afforded for any unforeseen events so be sure to check the booking conditions and/or have appropriate insurance. We paid for two rooms and used one with a credit note also not on offer. Communication between staff is low and unclear and incorrect advise provided, be very cautious.

Good location , friendly staff,

one week at this place was just right. There a a lot of things to be improved now it 's more of a construction side and has th status of a 3 star accommodation for the money they charging you would expect a bit more.

Great resort

Amazing experience staying there. The staff is very friendly and go out of their way to make not only the stay but the holiday a great experience. Where on earth is Niue? An experience of true discovery!

Matavai motel

Great views from motel. Need reasonable fitness for some walks and good shoes. Ear plugs, roosters crow quiet a lot through the night. Good dinning at resort and other cafes.

A lovely resort in a stunning setting

I stayed in the self-catering apartments - spacious, clean, modern bathroom and the wood-paneling gave it a seaside vibe. The view from the balcony was beautiful and the sound of the waves made for a relaxing time. Whales could be spotted just a few metres offshore - amazing! The main resort itself is a km away - I recommend hiring a car which you will want anyway wherever you're staying on Niue. The resort has a lovely layout and delightful staff. Very slow wi-fi so just abandon your phones and tablets and enjoy the stunning surroundings. I would highly recommend this resort and Niue itself - the coastal scenery is just wow!

Nice quiet spot

We had a quiet relaxing week here. The apartments are large and have great views. It's easily accessible to the rest of the resort if you have a car. Our only frustration was we asked staff to set up several excursions and they all fell through. We ended up having to arrange them all ourselves.

Great location

Very good - magnificent location. Restaurant service very poor. Staff obviously need some proper training but had pleasant attitude towards guests. Everything well maintained and clean.

quiet place, great views, no beach

concept of customer service still needs catching on,place was almost empty and yet the guests were put very close together with the balconies providing no acoustic separation ie no privacy

Excellent location

I love the hotel location with its 180 degrees panorama views of sea. Close to airport (free shuttle available), right next door there is dive shop, they can organize all possible water activities. Rooms were comfortable and clean with huge beds and balconies, area with swimming pool was pleasurable, with enough chairs for all guests. The choice of food at restaurant was limited, but food itself was tasty enough and with excellent service dining was no bad experience.

Six stars!

I'd live here if I could. There's nothing not to like. Spacious, clean, comfortable rooms. You can hear the ocean waves at night. A breakfast that can't be beat. And other meals are great too! A coconut crab show some nights with music. A beautiful pool and poolside bar. Very attentive and helpful staff. And even a hotel cat to keep you company.

A typical resort with not too many people

Most staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful; the meals I had there were excellent; the breakfast buffet was good (it was included in my booking price).

The staff was varied when I used this hotel. The staff who had a particularly good response was a pretty lady who responded at check-in. It is a white male staff who was disappointed. There is only one white man at the front desk, so you can see it as soon as you go. He has no basis but is confident, so if you become friends you will be able to have fun talking. The amenities are minimal. Please bring a toothbrush. It was saved that there was a dryer. The amount of hot water that can be used in the shower is sufficient. You have bath towels stored in the wash basin, so be careful not to wipe your body with the foot-drying mat. There is one taxi in the country and the old sergeant is fully operational, so I recommend you to rent a car. The hotel car hire is available for $ 55 for 24 hours. We ran for eight hours and the gasoline cost was $ 20. In my case, it was a face pass (just kidding) just by verbally confirming the possession of the license. 海沿いにあるリゾートホテルです。レストランにプール、プールバーとゆっくりした時間を過ごすことができます。 私が宿泊したのは、アパートメントの方で、ホテルから1.5kmほど離れた場所にあります。 ホテルのシャトルを利用することもできますが、レンタカーがないと、この島では何もできなくなります。 アパートメントからも海を見ることができます。こちらにもプール施設があります。室内には冷蔵庫に電子レンジ、共用スペースにはBBQのできる施設もあるので、長期滞在にとても便利です。 小さな蟻の群れやヤモリみたいなのと同じ部屋で生活することになりますので、虫が苦手という人は事前に対策を。 ランドリーと電話は共用スペースにあります。部屋には電話がありません。また、電話は国外から持ち込んだ携帯電話は圏外になってしまって使えません。滞在中、島内全面停電に巻き込まれたときは、ホテルの電話も使えなくなり、連絡手段が全く断たれてしまいました。 アパートメントにもレセプションはありますが、時間が短いので、殆ど使うことがありませんでした。 リゾートに行けば、１日１時間（24時間経過すればまた使用できる）のフリーwifiが使えます。夕方くらいから、ホテルのレストランで様々なイベントも行われているので、それを楽しむのも良いと思います。 アパートメントは、静かで快適です。リゾートより、個人的にはこちらの方が居心地が良いように思いました。

We stayed in the apartments at a couple of minutes distance from the main resort. All wooden interior that feels very comfortable, private, and spacious. Not an 'island design' but modern. Beautiful sea views and whales and dolphins can be spotted from the terraces of the main resort and from our room. By car it takes less than 10 minutes to Alofi were the longer you look the more restaurants and sea view bars you will discover. The people from Niue are very friendly, welcoming and always in for a chat. It was nice visiting the various tranquil villages. Super relaxed, very safe. On the way around the island we found numerous sea tracks, leading to amazing coral-rock places and pools. And the inland jungle tracks were beautiful to walk and bike. One week was too short.
