The hotel was beautiful and very clean. Excellent choices for breakfast. The only thing that let it down was the options for children in the swimming pool. Only a 2 hour window on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
Nice and cozy
Scandic spectrum
Room was clean , bed was large and shower was fantastic rainfall head, pool and sauna worth the 30 pounds for 2 hours and the rooftop bar has great cocktails and a cool vibe , great weekend
Good hotel, enjoyed my time there and the breakfast was also good.
Great nights sleep
I had a great 2-night stay at this hotel. The room was on the small smaller size but the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was good and the gym had all the necessary equipment at a great condition.
Such a great location. The breakfast was delicious and the staff were lovely. Highly recommend for traveling/touring Copenhagen.
modern and quiet area
Wonderful service. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. The staff was very helpful and kind.
Stayed here for 3 nights in March 2025. Nice clean room with large windows and spacious.
I had a wonderful stay at the Scandic Spectrum hotel. They staff was all very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very quiet and I liked that you could only gain access to your floor using your room key. I spent my birthday there and they came to leave me some snacks as a little birthday gift which I found very kind. The included daily breakfast buffet had a selection of delicious options. I highly recommend staying at this hotel.
Lovely stay
Great hotel, felt luxurious - very good value
Disappointed, extra charges for everything.
Disappointed with hotel. I booked for 4 nights to use the spa every morning. I was not aware of the expensive daily charge until after booking. 20 mins after booking I contacted the hotel asking if they could cancel. They said they could only cancel and take the full amount paid for the hotel! They then said I could change the dates for free… clearly not very useful. The rooms have no fridge, water, coffee making equipment. Very basic, surprised it’s a 4 star hotel.
Clean, friendly staff, and great breakfast
Very lovely stay in the hotel. On the waterfront and a convenient 5-10 min walk from the centre. Room was lovely and staff friendly. Would recommend
Booked a superior king room that was prepaid, turned up to reception and they gave us a twin bed room without telling us of the change. No complimentary offers made. Otherwise, hotel was fine.
Great location for Nyhavn
Great location to be able to walk into Copenhagen centre and Nyhavn.
Friendly personnel. Nice and new hotel.
Great, even for a family
Amazing stay here. The only thing I would change about the place is a few extra options in the casual dining restaurant in the evening. The staff are brilliant and made us very welcome. The rooms are great and location is excellent to access the whole city easily. I would definitely stay again!
Exquisite breakfast. No access for the pool unless you book a spa treatment. The two hour access option is never available and again, why would you need to pay extra for a swim?! Otherwise very nice clean hotel with good location.
Ok, bad breakfast
Rooms where small, modern, bathroom nice, no kettle, no bottle water or Glasses, none of that stuff, no one was rude but no one was over friendly either. Breakfast Bad, 2 nights I stayed so 2 breakfasts, first one was very busy but nothing was missing, next morning not busy and essential items missing like milk for cereal and bread for toast and one of two juice machines didn't work, but others wise was still bad anyway scramble egg horrible all eggs not good, the way everything was layed out I took a lot longer getting my breakfast then I did eating it, finding everything took ages, just one of my worst breakfast experiences, I think the breakfast is free with stay is because noone would pay extra for this.
the hotel didn't offer many facilities, very basic, no kettle for tea or coffee in the room
Great hotel and location. Staff friendly. Pity you have to pay extra for the wellness centre.
Lovely 3 night stay, however very poor advertising from Expedia, not once does it state that the pool is not included in the stay. I got a message from the hotel 3 days before our stay saying the pool and spa is not included please book, it was around 300DKK each for a 2 hour slot. But apart from that was really good room was great staff were really helpful.
Lovely, cosy hotel. Excellent breakfast.
wonderful stay in copenhagen. amenities are gorgeous, the breakfast was wonderful and super friendly staff!
A great location. Lovely spacious room with excellent facilities & a good view of the water. The staff were very polite & helpful. Breakfast was superb with so many options. Would definitely stay again.
Excellent experience from arrival to departure.
Value for money with no extravagances. The worst: the guests — not polite, not greeting in elevators. Special remark about Christina that went immediately out of her way at the front desk to repair our safe. And then left a charming note in the room. A great professional — the exception in regards to rendering the experience and stay personal!
Easy access to Central Copenhagen. Always excellent breakfast at Skandic hotels
It was good. Wish the window could be opened for some fresh air, though.
Great stay. Not sure I like the booking system for breakfast. I didn’t like having to pay for my bags to be stored - i understand it but I didn’t like it.
Excelente breakfast and excelente location.
Its comfortable, great location to start walking to any sightseeing location. Tivoli park is just a block away. Breakfast is great but it gets crowded. Thankfully via a QR you can access a “slot” reservation process where you can see the best times.
Great location. Decent breakfast. Service little slow but assuming because it was over new year. Rooms spacious with comfortable beds.
Clean friendly hotel. Busy at breakfast but plenty of food and good service!
The perfect location for exploring Copenhagen
We stayed for 5 nights during Christmas and it was great! The hotel was within walking distance to Tivoli Gardens and the main train station. There is also a bus stop within a minute walk that brings you those locations and also to the airport. Housekeeping is by request which we didn’t have an issue with. The WiFi worked great throughout the hotel. The breakfast selection was solid. There are many seating areas as it gets very busy after 8am during breakfast but we were always able to find a table. The downside is that you have to pay for luggage storage. We didn’t have to since our flight got delayed and we arrived past check in time. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The workers there were all super friendly. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel!
I had a great stay. SS was really nice and room was clean and quiet. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. As others have said lights in the room were a bit complicated but I just switched them all on and off until I got the combination I wanted. Shame gym was not included as looked nice. Have never paid extra to use a gym before. Just note that no English TV channels. Ok as I read a book but something to note maybe. Overall I would stay again as a good location - 10 minute walk from main Trainline and 15 mins by foot to middle of town.
Staff were excellent
Lovely hotel 10 minutes walk from Tivoli. Super friendly staff.
Help out with early check in. Well needed after travel
Staff helpful.was only there one night
Nice staff and clean room
breakfast was ok, not great however it was convenient. The wellness centre was quite expensive however it was very nice. Room was very good
I love everything about it.
This is an average hotel but was as expected for what I paid. I stayed Dec 20th to 23rd - a family of 3 so the sofa (double) was used in a standard room. We were on the 3rd floor and it was very quiet. Hotel was in a good location, within walking distance of the centre. The room was clean and comfortable although the bathroom had an unpleasant smell (sewage) when ever the taps for the basin were used. The breakfast was good, with lots of choice. Although you have to book a time online, there is no one checking when you enter the dining space. Tried to use the restaurant but it wasn’t open. They did offer pizzas for us to eat in our room. They were expensive but nice. The pool is only open to over 16s and there is an additional charge which wasn’t clear on booking. The luggage storage was good, it cost 40dkk for 4 hours. The biggest locker fit 3 cabin suitcases in with room to spare.
The hotel is conveniently located close to the train station. The hotel is modern and confortable. You can see the canal and you can walk to the principal areas from there . The breakfast was delicious and complete with buffet style . I really recommend this hotel.
Don’t stay here, a modern Fawlty Towers
Rooms have no telephone, no fridge, no water, no robes, no tea and coffee making facilities and the staff have no manners. You have to book room cleaning (they did not show) and book your breakfast time. Worst of all we booked this hotel for the pool which is marketed as a key feature, but it’s only available for a hefty fee and under 16s are not allowed so we couldn’t use it with our kids. The hotel claim this is clear on Hotels dot com but it is not (or was not at the time of booking). The hotel could have offered a free meal or bottle of wine or something to try to make good the situation but they just don’t care. Avoid this hotel - there are plenty better. It’s not deserving of being a Scandic which are generally excellent.
Great hotel for city break
A great stay - just need to know a few things
Lovely room with separate sitting area and couch that converted into a single bed. Good location between Tivoli (10 min walk) and Nyhavn (20 min walk). A couple of small things to be aware of: you need to schedule a breakfast time and any room cleaning the night before. There’s an additional charge to use the spa facilities and pool in the basement. On site dining is limited but many restaurants just a short walk away. 10 min to nearest Metro stop. Lobby bar is functional but not cozy. Breakfast covers all the bases but not much variety day to day. Overall a great place for families to explore Copenhagen.
Best thing was the breakfast
Modern hotel, rooms aren’t too big but nice style. Breakfast is excellent with lots of options but gets busy. For such a large hotel they make you pay to store luggage in lockers in their carpark. There weren’t any left so that wasted our time and luckily they stored it for free. Lucky we didn’t have to be somewhere. No kettle in room and if you want a coffee from reception from the machine it is £4 for a tiny one. I’ve stayed at smaller hotels that store your luggage and give you coffee etc
Walking distance to tourist spots like Christianborg Palace. Room is clean but no refrigerator. We stayed in a family room
average
It was a very basic hotel but the room was small and to the atrium so very dark. Also the breakfast was illogical and very poor from other Scandic hotels selections.
Very modern and decently appointed hotel, conveniently located in the heart of Copenhagen. The buffet breakfast is the same every day, but there is a good variety of options and the food is also good. The on-site restaurant and bar are very good but also very expensive, and their hours of operations are very limited. There aren't many restaurants near by, so one has to walk about 20 minutes to the nearest decent restaurant. The hotel offers bike rental for patrons, but they have only 2-3 bikes for kids, so if you are with kids, you have to reserve the bikes very early in the morning. The bike rental is not free. The main draw of this hotel is really its location and proximity to other attractions in Copenhagen.
Good hotel
Our stay at the Spectrum was great. I loved all the eco-friendly amenities. For example, you only get your room cleaned by request, eco-friendly soaps and lotions, LED lights, etc. Having bikes available for rent was very convenient. We used the bikes 3 times which was really fun and made getting around the city super easy. The front desk agents were very fluent in English and very friendly. Overall, the hotel has a very comfortable feel to it. Highly recommended!
Seems like a brand new hotel so everything was clean and shiny. Fantastic included breakfast but a bit odd that they make you reserve a time online for when you will be there but nobody ever checked to see if you were actually there at your appointed time. Also, you had to ask (again online) to have your room cleaned as it was not done automatically every day. I understand the "eco" aspect of doing this, but, one of the nice things about a hotel vs AirBnB are the extra hotel services. I also was a bit annoyed that they made me pay 200 DKK (about $30) to check in a little less than 2 hours before the regular check-in time. Seems a bit strict especially since the hotel seemed very empty and I don't think the early check in was much of a burden for them. Overall, a very nice hotel with some quirks.
A great hotel perfect for a city break. Lovely and clean and great staff. The breakfast was fantastic. Just a shame we couldn’t use the pool as we had the baby with us. Would highly recommend
The hotel is situated in quiet area on the waterfront. The room was clean and ideal for our needs. The included breakfast was amazing. Great choice and plenty of it. Staff we had interactions with were generally friendly and helpful.
The hotel is clean, modern, breakfast is excellent. The hotel is a minute walk from Copenhagen central trains station with easy access to and from the airport and all over Copenhagen. We used public transport a lot. The spa was a welcome addition (additional fee is required for the spa and Pool access which you need to book in advance) you get 2 hours and was great at the end of our trip to unwind and relax out tired muscles before going home.
The hotel & staff is useless, everything is digital x a fee.
Quiet and comfortable rooms Pleasant and helpful staff You have to pay for luggage storage and it only fits one large bag in the biggest of the lockers, so that gets a bit pricey. You have to pay to use the health centre and the pool, which was a surprise.
We visit only for a short stay but omg this hotel is 5***** so lovely quite and great staff
The hotel is in a good safe area, however don’t count on a good nights sleep due to external events and parties taking place within the hotel event space and the roof top bar. Last night a booking by “MK Electric” in the event space last up until 2am at night with loud music reverberating across the whole hotel, every night of our stay had one party going on until the early hours. We contacted reception to no avail and no mitigation provided, with the lack of sleep resulting in missing breakfast and having to start our days later, all this with a toddler! I spoke to Jacob last night who said he would log with management but could not do anything around noise levels as this is an “external booking”. This falls well below expectations and has ruined our holiday to Copenhagen.
The hotel and staff are great. The included breakfast is wonderful. My wife and daughter loved the spa. We were upgraded to a larger room with a marvelous view. Regrettably, the design -- for the view -- reduced the shelf space we needed coming off a long river cruise!
Total Frustration
First of all nobody told us that we have to pre-book the house keeping to clean the room even though we did not hang the "do not disturb card" on the door knob. Secondly, no body told us that the car park was not free and they charged us 250 KK daily which was outrageous. Third, you have to pre book the indoor pool usage and it is not free and children are only allowed in the weekends also ridiculous. In summary, this is a business oriented hotel and definitely not suitable for families. I do not recommend to families.
Excellent place
Very fine experience
At this property you have to book a time to have your room cleaned in advance every day, making it quite difficult if you aren’t on a set schedule. If you want to use any of the amenities, spa, pool, etc., you also have to set up a time in advance which is very inconvenient. You also have to pay to use the pool which isn’t advertised on the website.. I booked this hotel for the pool and wasn’t able to use it once.. you also have to book a time for breakfast. Overall the most inconvenient hotel experience I think I’ve ever had. You’re better off picking a different hotel.
The hotel is great. Dinner options were limited. The sink in our room did not work well. The spa service was really nice. Definitely get a treatment with Anastasia.
the hotel itself was beautiful, modern and clean but the swimming pool policy is not made clear on the booking page , it is not for use by anyone under the age of 16 and as this was the only reason we booked this hotel for our family we were incredibly disappointed. 2/3 of the staff we encountered were rude, one was helpful
Very clean and tidy environment. Excellent convenience to public transport.
Great hotel with a great hot and cold breakfast buffet. Stayed in a room with a king bed and a sofa bed which was much bigger than expected. The sofa bed was not the comfiest and was noisy when moving. Bathroom had a bath and separate shower.
We booked accommodation for 2 nights. The heating in the room did not work, we reported it to the reception. The suggestion was that we should pack up and put our luggage in the locker, so that they would rent out the unheated room to someone else. And we had to wait until 4 pm to get another room, in a much worse place than the one originally booked. We did not accept this, as we came for sightseeing and did not want to spend our time with moving. We ended up getting an electric heater that blew the fuse. We wanted to have dinner at the hotel, as they advertised their excellent restaurant in the elevator, but they indicated that only pizza was available and that too only from a box, because the management decided not to open the kitchen. The kindness of the gentleman working at the bar was the only positive.
Its all about the service, lack of it...
We stayed from the 13/10 till 21/10. The hotel had all the potential to be fabulous, from its design, location, numerous elevators, view etc.. But it failed at the most basic and fundamental core of hospitality - bad service. The cold curt staff, being ordered coldly and sharply to leave the breakfast hall at 09:30 sharp though we reserved a table at 09:00, charging guests 50 euros for using the pool for just 2 hours, the reception NEVER answering the phone forcing the guests to physically go to the front desk, A/C in the room not working despite being told it does, being told a technician will check it out, a technician that never came despite reminding reception 3(!!) times and thus having to put up with a stuffy room all our stay, etc.. etc.. etc.. The general feeling was that our presence disturbed the routine, peace and quiet of the hotel staff. Our sincerest apologies to them - we will not do so again.
I like the place and would return. Breakfast was very good, and included in the price. Minor things that could have been better... It would have been nice to have tissues and small soaps in the bathroom (maybe this is a US only thing). There was only liquid soap mounted on the wall. Storing luggage for a few hours after checkout cost 40 DKK.
The hotel was in a good location
It was super central and perfect walking distance from all amenities. Breakfast was amazing & Soa really worth booking.
nice location and view from the room
We had a decent sized room with nice view of the river. There was no way of controlling the temperature (assume A/C system turned off after summer) and no way to open the window...and the room was very warm. Possibly linked to them trying to be environmentally friendly, but was stuffy and uncomfortable to sleep in. Shower pressure was pretty weak but room all fine otherwise. Reception staff very friendly....bar staff seem a bit less happy with life. Various dining options are not very clear. There are posters for a rooftop bar which is not mentioned anywhere on their internal Web page which you use when you in the hotel to book into breakfast etc. Overall pretty positive though.
Extra charges - pool, luggage
This is the hotel for you if you want to be nickel & dimed. Chose because a swimming pool however additional charge of 295 DKK ($65 AUD / $43 USD) to swim. On check out 50 DKK ($10 AUD / $7 USD) to store suitcase for later in the day.
Nice but pricy
Very nice hotel in a good location For Tivoli gardens. Breakfast Buffett was very nice good selection. As you may know Copenhagen is expensive , if you wanted an umbrella you had to rent it aaand if you need to leave your bags after checkout there is a charge for a locker 40-50 Krone depending on size of the locker , we also wanted to go for a swim with the grandchildren but the cost for a swim is ridiculous
Great location and easy to get into the city. The rooms were lovely and staff were welcoming and friendly. My only annoyance was that you had to pay for luggage storage and use of the facilities (e.g. pool etc) which was not advertised before booking only once we arrived.
Bathrooms suck. No place to put anything and showers always leak all over the floor. There is no door. Rooms are a bit smaller than you may expect.
The staff was not helpful or friendly
We enjoyed staying there. It’s a good place to travel.
Disappointed
The room was spacious but not comfortable. The small closet was located in a corner behind the door. The bathroom door would not stay open. There were not towels racks in the bathroom. Nightstands are pretty small. There were not hooks to hang coats or bags. The bathroom shower didn’t have any shelves. The glass enclosure had not the protection to prevent the water from escaping into the floor.. it doesn’t have any handles either. A place can be eco friendly but at least have to have some facilities to make your room safe and comfortable. In addition the area has no places around where you can go to eat or drink, and the hotel has only one restaurant with not too many options.
The Scandic Spectrum is a lovely and modern hotel. The breakfast was fantastic. It is located a short walk to transport, dining options & Tivoli Gardens. In fact, we did all our exploring by foot. You have to book in advance to use the gym and pool and use of the pool cost extra which was disappointing given the cost of the room. The rooms advertised as family rooms did have sleeping options for 4 people (queen bed & double sofa bed, good for 2 smaller children) but had barely enough space to walk around the beds. There was an issue at check-in but that was an Expedia glitch & Sonja from the front desk was very helpful. Overall a lovely hotel in a convenient location but a bit small & inflexible for a family of 4.
The hotel was nice, clean. The room I wish had atleast like a coffee maker or kettle for tea. Location was good.
Nice view of the water. Close to the Glyptotec. Walkable from the train station if you don't have too much luggage. Staff was helpful.
Good hotel in great location
Very new and clean big hotel (1,500 beds, I think). Excellent service, friendliness from all staff. Great for sleeping and breakfasting (which closes a bit too early).
Very nice hotel with an excellent breakfast. The light controls in the room are confusing and take some time to figure out.
We had a great stay at this hotel - it was new, clean and spacious with welcoming staff and comfortable rooms. The breakfast was great and the location was excellent for many attractions and the train station. We would definitely stay here again if we're back in Copenhagen.
Enjoyed our stay. Friendly staff, nice room, good breakfast and location
Stunning hotel, excellent breakfast and unique spa amenity.
Not bad however not the best
Disappointed with the room assigned - no view , looking at the 100 windows of the hostel opposite. During the check in, the staff told us it has a nice view. The view from the room nothing like it advertised . Room lighting system not that complicated just need a bit of time to understand the layout however the ac control was totally not working, the room was very warm, no fresh air. No ventilation in bathroom make it very stuffy after use. Breakfast - war zone! Hotel management need to do something , there’s no control at all. The choices were basic ! They just repeated the same food again in every corner. Half of the coffee machines not working , long queue for coffee ! Lifts were slow , to serve the amount of guests stay in the hotel, you better have some patience ! Junior suite room size was good , hotel location a nice walk to/from station and other busy area.
Great hotel. Baby friendly. Breakfast was great
The hotel was beautiful. But...we arrived early morning, expecting that we could store luggage. They charged to store luggage in lockers for a 4 hour time limit. Never heard of an upscale hotel doing this in all our travels. We asked if we could check in earlier if room was ready. They finally said yes at 2 pm, but...another charge of 300k for a 2 hour earlier check in. Have been in many hotels, and have never been charged for either of these. Museums, and other sites are within in walking distance during day. But no restaurants for dinner nearby, so have to eat in hotel.

The pool is not included
They charge for the pool and spa area, they charge to hold your bag.
