A beautiful and comfortable old hotel with a fantastic breakfast located near shopping and restaurants and within walking distance of museums and the Royal Palace.

A boutique feel in a Scandic property right in the heart of Gamla Stan. Excellent location close to everything and very close to a metro station.

Best part about this hotel is the location - it is centrally located to most attractions and public transport. Very quiet on the room we had facing the courtyard. Bed was decently comfortable but nothing particularly special and the room was warm. Breakfast was fine but the dining room was crowded; they booked us in to a specific time but I have the feeling nobody paid attention and just came when they wanted. Only real negative is the walls and floors of the room we had was dated and could really use a refresh. Doesn't deserve 5 stars but if you need a decent hotel for a city break, this will certainly work.

Don’t stay at the weekend - nightclub noise

This is a nice traditional Swedish hotel with an excellent breakfast. The rooms are small but this is to be expected in the old town. I do not recommend staying at this hotel at the weekend though if you value your sleep. The noise of the nightclub next door went on until 3 in the morning and we needed two sets of ear plugs and two fans to cover it. We got little rest as a result which made our weekend in Stockholm much less enjoyable. The hotel would not refund us for the room despite the noise but gave back a small amount we had paid for an additional breakfast.

Great location if you want to explore the old town. Conveniently located to metro and not far from ferry transportation as well.

Great location! Right by the metro.

Good location for sightseeing dining & transport around the city. On the downside there were no free tea & coffee facilities & only daily room cleaning by request.

A hidden gem, great location. Hotel is older but well maintained. Breakfast was a nice surprise, hadn’t realized it was included and was delicious. Great variety, not a standard European breakfast, beautiful presentation and chef was very pleasant, even offered to open early if we needed so we could eat before our flight. You won’t be disappointed

Good little hotel on the edge of the old city. Convenient to transportation and walkable to many places. For an old hotel the room and bathroom were surprisingly spacious. Glad they have an elevator, small as it is. Breakfast buffet included was excellent.

Very centrally situated in the historic area which was great for getting around but also made it quite noisy!

So easy to get to from the metro. So many restaurants and shops nearby. The room was the perfect size. The only downside was how close to the metro it was because it was very loud all night long.

Excellent location, 2 mins walk to the nearest train station. Decent complimentary breakfast, very pleasant and nice staff! Rooms are clean, the hotel itself is a bit older, the bed is comfy expect it makes this squeaky noise whenever I move. Overall, good place to stay!

Great location, helpful staff, lovely variety at breakfast

I loved the location in Old Town. There were many dining and shopping options in the surrounding blocks. Also it was very close to Metro, Bus, and Commuter Ferry stops. The facilities were very nice, excellent breakfast.

The property has charm and is located close to what we wanted to see. The morning breakfast was excellent. The “old town” location comes with some noise challenges from the Metro trains and service trucks. Keeping windows open adds noise. It may not be practical, but a/c units in guest rooms are called for.

Great location, very friendly and helpful staff, fantastic breakfast. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone.

NICE STAY

GREAT LOCATION AND SUCH A WONDERFUL BREAKFAST INCLUDED IN THE ROOM...

This hotel is in a great location to the shops, restaurants and metro on Gamla Stan.

Staying here felt like home. From the warm greeting each time we came in to the INCREDIBLE breakfast each morning, we were thrilled to be staying here for 5 nights. The room itself was more spacious than any other we’d had in a month of travel and the room had everything we needed (proper desk, mini fridge, mirrors, closet, outlets, hair dryer, great water pressure) The kitchen manager, Oscar, made mornings feel like you were at your childhood home as they took such pride in the atmosphere, quality of food and presentation. He even had an outstanding selection of gluten free food since I have celiac disease. The location in Old Town was perfect and close to everything. During the Summer the streets have flower boxes everywhere & are closed to car traffic so you can walk everywhere. This place is 1 block off the main streets so nights were quiet and we slept so well. We will surely stay here again on our next trip to Stockholm.

We loved our stay at Scandic Gamla Stan. Fantastic location. The hotel is a few streets off of the busy area, so it is quieter but also such a close walk. The staff was super friendly. Breakfast was wonderful!

Nice stay.

The hotel was very clean and convenient to our sightseeing. Fortunately, there was an elevator to the 3rd floor, but my husband and I couldn't both fit in it with our luggage.

Room was quiet hot, fan are supplied but felt like a sauna. Good location to restaurants and shops.

Great location and walkable throughout Gamla Stan. The room was clean and somewhat roomy. The selections at the breakfast were ample and delicious.

Great location and breakfast, but.....

Pros: Staff was very friendly and helpful. Cesar runs a great breakfast and is happy to accommodate any special requests, if possible. Amazing location in Gamla Stan. Cons: Shower was tiny (see attached picture). I am only 5' 3" and 112 lbs and I regularly hit the door with my elbow opening the shower door and getting the bathroom wet. Room was very warm due to unexpected warm weather and the fan was insufficient. Windows can't be opened because the outside noise is extremely loud (people, trash truck) - ask for a room not facing the street. Room 207 was fine for one person but if 2 people, someone would have to climb into bed from the foot because there is a piece of furniture against the bed so no access to one side of the bed.

Great location. We walked from the main train station to this hotel (about 15 minutes). The hotel is in a great spot, easy to explore old town and great food options around. The hotel is old (to be expected in this location) but well kept. The room was hard to cool. The breakfast included was great!

We love Stockholm as tourists, and love the old town (Gamla Stan), just don't want to end our vacation here. This hotel has everything one needs when visiting Stockholm, superb location with subways and water taxi right next to it, food and drink steps away, tourist attractions, and views.... The hotel staff is very helpful and friendly, and breakfast is very nice, lots of varieties.

Had an amazing stay. This place and the people that work here are fantastic. I appreciate the extra mile they went through to make sure I got breakfast at 5:30am before I left for Helsinki.

Good location!

The place was very nice, close to everything and breakfast was great. The only thing was it was very warm and no air condition. Everything else was great.

The hotel has no way to get to the elevator without going thru two three step stairs. Lights are dinghy and dark

Nice, clean hotel in a great location!

Nice hotel very centrally located in Gamla Stan. My room was comfortable, but a little small. Make sure you have a quiet room preferably on an upper floor as noise from the outdoor restaurants and bars can be quite loud especially on weekends in the warmer months. Delicious breakfast! Nice staff.

I understand this hotel is pretty old but the room was so tiny and the noise coming out of the street was terrible. Compared to all the other hotels alike we stayed in during our 2 week trip throughout Scandinavia this was our least favorite. And it was the most expensive. We wont be staying there next time we visit.

Very charming hotel in Gamla Stan! Wonderful daily breakfast and rooftop terrace. Would highly recommend staying here.

Breakfast was excellent. One of best breakfast’s we ever had for a hotel buffet. Lots of variety. Rooms clean and spacious.

This hotel feels like you are going back in time. The rooms are decorated beautifully. There is a rooftop sitting area. It is right next to restaurants and shops. If I ever find myself back in Stockholm I will defiantly stay there again.

Great location to walk the city.

Very close to the Metro for access anywhere in Stockholm and minutes from the ferry boats and several local attractions. Bathroom was the only complaint as it was ridiculously small for the room we had. Everything else about the room was good.

Very misleading info. They offer a queen and King rooms but then what you get is dofferent. So basically queen bed is 2 single beds joined together..really misleading especially when offered in a room for a single person. They have two size of rooms but on the booking confirmation they dint mention the measurement of the room you are getting

We LOVED staying here! The hotel was cute and clean. The breakfast was included and was AMAZING! We appreciated the staff working with us on check in and check out time. The area is quite and safe, but so close to a walkable area of town with lots to do. Highly recommend!

The reception were very welcoming, professional and pleasant, room basic but very clean, it had all you need. Breakfast selection very varied was fantastic hot and cold buffet I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Absolutely amazing service. We arrived at 7am after a long train and they gave us early check in without question so we could get settled. The place was wonderful, breakfast was incredible with a chef who made us all smoothies. The hotel is in a wonderful area, would absolutely stay there again

Lovely place with great staff. Just be aware it is an old building so there is a limit to what they can offer in facilities compared to the other Scandic Hotels nearby.

There was hardly any heating in the room, so an electric heater was provided the next day. The phone also did not work for more than three days. But the staff and location were excellent. Also rich selection and variety at breakfast.

Second time staying at Scandic Gamla Stan and wouldn't even look at another hotel when returning to Stockholm. Perfectly located, clean, INCREDIBLE breakfast and friendly staff. All I can say is thank you!

Liked everything

This was a perfect stay. The room was small and a little bit old-fashioned but it was clean and the bed comfortable. The bathroom was recently renovated. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast buffet had a good variety of high quality food. Then there was the location, which was so convenient: located in Gamla Stan and only a two-minute-walk from the tunnelbana station (but you can walk to most of Stochkolms neighborhoods)

The location was superb! The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We walked everywhere very easily. Gamla Stan is charming! The hotel is a bit run down and our room was quite small. However, we would stay there again but ask for a larger, sunnier room.

The location was excellent and the staff are all very friendly, helpful and accommodating. There is a free breakfast with many choices. Although Rick Steve’s book described the hotel as “charming”, it’s generally run down. Our particular room was extremely small, the closet was literally 12” wide with 3 hangers, there was no place to put luggage or clothing. We had to live out of our suitcases, which were on the desk. However, the bed was quite comfortable and we really appreciated the location in Gamla Stan, which was walkable to everything.

Fantastic location too!

The man at the reception desk went above and beyond helping me travk my lost luggage. Because we checked out so early in the morning, we were given bag bfasts and coffees to take with us. Great service at this hotel.

Loved the location and had a great breakfast!

This is a gem. Room is european in size, but enough room for suitcases and to be comfortable. It's location is fantastic. You can walk around the entire old town easily, and I am not a great walker. I noticed on a # of occasions that the chief would get something special for a child staying there and he suggested to us to take coffee to the roof deck, which we had not considered. Highly recommend.

Amazing Hotel in the Heart of Stockholm

I can't recommend the Scandic Gamla Stan enough. I came to Stockholm on business & extended my stay for a vacation. Knowing I wanted to stay in Gamla Stan I found this gem. The location was great & walkable to everything yet on a quiet street where you don't have a lot of noise. The rooftop patio was perfect to enjoy the beautiful Stockholm summer. Morning breakfast was always delicious & well stocked. I had to leave for my flight early in the morning so they had breakfast to go bag ready for me in the morning. The staff was very friendly & helpful. I will definitely book here again for my next Stockholm trip.

Wonderful old building but that also meant furniture, carpeting and bathrooms a bit worn. Lack of a/c was an issue. Breakfast and servicewas good altho reception service could have been better.

Looking for a cozy old hotel in Gamla Stan? Look no further. Such a nice contrast to a chain hotel in other parts of Stockholm. The breakfast smorgasbord alone is worth the very reasonable nightly rate. The desk staff go out of their way to be helpful, including one who called a department store when I misplaced a credit card. If you are a walker, you can get just about anywhere a tourist needs to go within a short time. We highly recommend this property.

This is a lovely hotel in a great location with an excellent breakfast and approachable staff but it’s not 4 star It could be so improved by upgrading the bedrooms The rest of the hotel is quaint and has lots of charm and the service is excellent the bedrooms let this hotel down and appeared tired and shabby the bedrooms need mattresses on the beds instead of toppers, bedside lamps , usb connectors and charging points and most importantly tea and coffee facilities in the rooms . the Bedding was very low standard and the bathroom towels too small for the average person bathrobes ans slippers would be an added bonus it felt more like a B and B which is really sad because it has so many great qualities

nice accomodation in convenient location

After taking a taxi from the airport, we were warmly greeted and actually able to check in 2 hours early. We took the elevator to our clean and comfy room. The location for touring Stockholm is perfect and there are numerous restaurants within a 2 minute walk. The best part about the hotel though was the amazing breakfast! So many delicious choices and a perfect way to start a full day of touring Stockholm. I would definitely stay here again!

Old building lots of character. Friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast. Convenient to tourist attractions and restaurants. Cheesecake on the breakfast buffet, first time I’ve seen this.

Really cute place that was comfortable and friendly. Loved being right in old town. Loved the roof top patio.

1. I was permitted an early check in and my room was clean and spacious by Scandinavian standards. 2. Location is fantastic- accessible to all the major landmarks and a 2 minute walk to the metro 3. The bed is very comfortable - had a great nights sleep 4. The breakfast times have to be stated in advance as the breakfast room is small to fit all, but there was always plenty of seats during my 3 night stay 5. There’s always one staff member in the kitchen/breakfast room who’s polite and greets everyone every morning. Cons: 1. Guests have to specify if they want housekeeping in advance. So I asked well in advance for one day at a specific timeslot and on that very same day, the cleaning staff decided to turn up 4 hours after the requested timeslot. I was fatigued after hours of walking/touring, leaving me a tad annoyed at their lack of punctuality and consideration. I ended up having to leave the hotel again! For your guests on holiday who want to put their feet up, please be more attentive! 2. The bathroom floor was perpetually wet after every use. There is no sealant at the bottom of the shower doors and I ended up using multiple towels to mop up the water 3. A kettle/mugs in the room would be ideal for those of us that want to unwind with a cup of tea in the room. 4. Wifi is sporadic- good connection on the first night and on/off access on the remaining nights despite following the instructions

This place is so cute and the location is perfect when visiting Gamla Stan. They also have a really nice rooftop seating area with a great view. Definitely recommend.

The hotel was in a perfect location & the rooms were very nice. Breakfast was wonderful & the staff was very helpful. Gamla Stan area a must see & you’re right in the heart of things & close to the subway. Would recommend this hotel
