The hotel was nice, but the elevator stopped working, i had to lift my luggage with my hands through stairs
The manager was nice to let us check in early. The room was tidy but didn’t feel clean. The decor is old and desperately needs renovation…even a fresh coat of paint would help. The shower did not have a curtain or doors to close so water got on the floor. The location is good so it has potential to be a great little hotel with Amsterdam charm.
Ok
A
Could be with a tidy up on the decor!
Okay
We went for two nights. There were dirty/ used towels left in the wardrobe. The wall paper was all ripped. There was no shower screen, so the shower would fill the bathroom with water. It is very loud if there are people in the room above and loads of banging. The bed was extremely comfy, and there is potential if those changes got made. It is a big enough room!
Room was dusty. Bathroom was tiny and had a leak under the sink. The lift only worked on the day I arrived. Towels were old and ragged.
Great hotel, spent three days there. Great location, close to tram and bus services and restaurants. Staff also very helpful. Would happily stay here again, bed was really comfy and huge!
£250 for 2 nights for a very tatty hotel with walls bare and no wall paper, tatty towels that were small, paint on the chair in the room, couldnt even serve a coffee because they'd run out of milk. Just awful. If it was £50 a night, that would be a different story. Wish i'd pay more to go elsewhere.
Comfy beds
The hotel is in a good location. Sandwich bar and a restaurant were across the street Beds were comfy and soft - pillows hard! Hotel staff were friendly and helpful
Looks nothing like the pictures. There are no facilities. It's basically a hostel. Staff are very friendly
On arrival the place looks nice from the outside but inside is a joke. At some point they have had a leak and its made the wallpapper in the hallways peal and some spots of black mould. The 1st room i was put in was gross, dirty sheets, no carpet on the floors and the flooring was dirty with dust gathered in the grooves. Not to mention the layer of dust over the entire room, the limescale all over the shower heads and someone had picked their nose and wiped it on the window frame also where the leak was in the hallway the wall connected had bubbled pealing paint. When asked to move to another room i was moved i to the room above, it was slightly cleaner. Dust layer over everything, bed sheets still unclean and bathroom while nicer than the other room was not worth the price of the stay. The hostel- because thats what it is, also required a €50 deposit which gets refunded when you check out. Staff while friendly were useless to fix any issues. It felt like having a bad landlord who thinks a paint job is a repair. There is a tv- but doesnt work, there is heating but too 3hrs to warm up and then sounded like a trickling stream the entire time. Location is great but this place should be taking no more bookings before its repaired and up to code. The black mould alone should take it out of commission.
The hotel is in an ideal spot, a short walk to Leidseplein. The staff at the hotel were fantastic. My phone broke and the lady at reception helped me print my tickets, give directions and overall was really kind and understanding.
Lovely hotel . Will definetely use again
Stairs very steep. Elevator extremely slow. Need ear plugs. Staff was nice and helpful.
Yes this hotel could do with a refresh but the location is perfect. The staff are helpful and it is an ideal place to stay if you just want a bed for the night and a decent shower. Lift is slow but works. We walked to all of the attractions and shops. Restaurants close by, sandwich shop over the road. Definitely served its purpose for a long weekend away. I was worried by others reviews but honestly there is nothing to worry about. I would recommend this hotel.
The staff were friendly and helpful but this hotel is in desperate need of a deep cleaning or a fresh coat of paint. I stayed in a single room near the elevator that the hotel acknowledge is the slowest in Amsterdam. The room is very small but served my purpose. The twin bed was comfortable but the topper kept slipping off the bed. The sheets and towels had stains and were dingy grey. The shower had good pressure but flooded the bathroom every time you used it. The toilet is so close to the sink that you could sit on toilet and brush your teeth- not that would want too but it’s the best way to describe it. My room had strange brown smears on the wall and the wall paper was ripped and peeling off. The hotel has cats running around which didn’t bother me but if you have allergies be aware. Location is convenient to trams and museum district. Neighborhood is quiet.
Room was filthy, a pile of dust on the floor under the table, skirting boards grubby and thick with dirt. Sheets on the bed were off white, the pillows were just cushions lumpy and off white.
Gute Lage
The room was too small. It was impossible to sleep at night because of the noise. It was the super loud elevator if it wasn't somebody talking loudly. The room was not super clean (my sheets had stains), and the walls desperately needed a fresh coat of paint. I do not recommend the property.
Greta location, but it was dirty and there were cat’s and cat hair all over the Reception. Unfortunately really loud all night. But the bed was comfy and front desk stands were good
Nice, clean, somewhat simple hotel. The room is basic, but modern and clean. Very helpful staff. Great location not far from the Leidseplein. It's my go-to budget choice in Amsterdam.
Very nice one night stay!
I was very aprehensive about staying here after reading the reviews but it is nowhere near as bad as people make out. Staff were very friendly and on hand 24/7, we were on the first floor so didn't use the lift much but it wasn't as slow as expected and we didn't hear it during the night at all. The location of the hotel is great, it's close enough to the centre to be walking distance, but far enough away to get a good nights sleep. We stayed for a week, including on a Friday and Saturday night, and slept with the window open with minimal noise issues. There are a handful of shops and restaurants just a few minutes walk away. Was it dirty? No. Did the paint need a freshen up? Yes, but it does not affect your stay at all. The double bed was massive and SO comfortable. The room and bathroom were both decent sizes. The shower doesn't have a door or curtain so some water does go a little around the bathroom but put the mat down that they provide and be a little careful and its not an issue. Overall, I enjoyed my stay here and would stay here again. It's a great budget hotel and nowhere near as bad as people make out.
After reading the reviews I was hesitant about my stay at this property. However, we were pleasantly surprised. The location of the hotel was perfect, only 30 min walk till you’re in the city centre. The hotel has bikes to hire as well as numbers for taxis etc. The room was satisfactory for the price you pay. The balcony was lovely, the TV had Netflix & Prime available. The bed was comfy. Big bathroom and mirrors. 24 hour reception was perfect. You cannot go wrong for the price. The only criticism, would be there was no soup/toilet roll, however we did get some after asking. Overall, the reviews are not accurate and the hotel is perfect for a budget stay. Thank you very much!
A small but functional room. The thin mattress kept slipping off the wooden base, and the shower oddly had no curtain or door, so the water would spread out into the bathroom and the room itself. But the floor was made of a material that eventually absorbed the water. The elevator is indeed the slowest and loudest I’ve experienced (as advertised) but the room is reasonably priced, the location is great, in walking distance from the van Gogh and Rijksmuseum, and near several good restaurants. The staff is nice and the front door stays open throughout the night.
Room 17 is not a room I would recommend to anyone taller than 5'4 or over 140 lbs, you simply won't be able to maneuver in the bathroom. The window can't open because the cubbard is in front of it. The head of the bed is against the loud elevator wall. The stairs are whimsical yet treaturous. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Room was very tired and the shower was covered in limescale. No cleaning the room during your stay unless you request it 24 hours in advance.
Read reviews before you end up in bugbeds lake. Rejected to refund my money of £185 for 3nights . I wouldn't recommend any human to stay in that trap. Read the REVIEWD BEFORE PLEASE .
If I could leave 0 stars I would. This is a warning to all potential guests to steer clear of this hotel. Do not believe the Expedia average review of 7 out of 10 stars. The room will only be cleaned if you demand in advance, you will be charged fees for requesting fresh towels (which their resident cat lies on all day - hello allergies!), and the amount of audible noise from other guests (because it's an "old building") is insufferable. The towels, bedsheets, wallpaper, etc etc is in such a state of disrepair it's disgraceful this place still makes money.
Very, very, very bad
The person at the reception was not knowledgeable about the city. To the point he couldn’t even point in the map where we were. He insisted I used Google Maps to find my was around, even when I told him I had no data in my phone. There is NO AC in the rooms, and the little fan they provide brings no comfort from the heat whatsoever. It’s twice as hot and humid inside the room as it is outside. It was hard to try to sleep being so hot. On top of that, they wouldn’t inform their guests in advance that I there is a very loud construction going on right next to it. I was trying to rest after a long day of work before my flight, and I was awaken at 6 am but the tremendous construction noises. Therefore, I was unable to rest in the room I booked to be able to rest. Their lift is indeed the slowest one in all Amsterdam as they themselves acknowledge in a funny way. That is no problem, but the key card to my room didn’t work, so I had to go up and down in that slow elevator many times, which wasted a significant amount of time. To top this up, the key card never worked, and the door handle was broken, so they had to give me an old-fashion key to be able to access the room. I guess the flip side of the key not working is that I can be sure no one could enter my room.
Comfortable location
The location is quite comfortable and in a walkable distance to the main attractions. The outside of the hotel is not bad but the entrance is very dirty, the rooms are dusty, showers are not very functional as you will flood the floor. Rooms are spacious but the forniture not arranged properly as you will have to jump over the bed to reach the balcony.
Great
The location was very convenient and close to where we wanted / needed to be. However we were disappointed with the size of the rooms, the lack of basic facilities such as tea and coffee in the room, the plastic flooring, stained mattress, and faulty electrics on arrival
Few days away
Friendly staff comfortable bed, no tea or coffee facilities in your room We were able to leave our bags before check-in
Good
It was mediocre
Really great service, nice and attentive man, but there was no hot water in the morning, found out at 10:30am and was a little late to go and speak to someone as checkout is 11am. The soundproofing is non existent, we was in room 1 right by the door, and you can hear every whisper from the office next door along with upstairs sadly. Room was okay, but run down, but can’t complain for the price apart from that. Good stay just disappointed it could have been so much better! Probably won’t come back until renovations take place sadly. 7/10

Staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. Room #3 was nice but needs up-keeping and maintenance, especially the bathroom. The overhead shower has bubbles in the ceiling and the water comes out uneven. It is a walk in shower and there is not enough inclination on the floor so the water does not move towards the drain, water splashes outwards. Mold damage on the door frame due to this excessive water. Headboard and lounge chair need to be vacuumed. Have a lot of dust. Just with this details fixed it go up to be a 5star.
Great value for the location of the hotel. The area is relatively quiet but very close to museums, attractions, and public transportation. Staff was friendly and helpful. The room itself was comfortable with a comfortable bed. I’d recommend easily.
The room itself is fine, you have a bed and a lovely shower… but it is not a balcony, it’s a shelf that you can’t actually stand on so the description is not accurate. The wallpaper is peeling throughout the property and the whole place feels like it needs a deep clean. While we were staying, some guests upstairs decided to smoke in their room and set off the fire alarms at 1am. However, if the price was a little lower I would stay here again.. the location is perfect for exploring Amsterdam and it is actually pretty quiet as it’s not right in the centre
Good location, walking distance to most places tourists may want to go. Bathroom was main issue, shower gets water everywhere. Walls are thin and front desk staff conversations can be heard at all hours.
Was with my daughter for a short time- lots of advice invaluable
Great place to stay
Fantastic hotel for location and convenience. No airconditioning in room so was extremely hot. Only a small fan was provided. Bathroom door did not close either. Comfy bed and close to amenities
Great location
The reception lady was kind enough to offer a free water bottle as i checked out
The young lady who checked us in was very friendly but the foyer stunk of cats, when we got our room No 16 we were very disappointed with what were getting for £400 for 2 nights, the room was stinking of dampness, the whole room was dated and worn out, the net curtains were dirty and torn with large holes in, we had about 9 inch gap to squeeze against the wall and the bed end , the safe in cupboard did not work and was not bolted down so carried all our valuables with us when we went out, the whole room needs decorating the wall paper is all flaking of, We do not recommend this hotel which is definitely not 3 star for £400.00 x 2 nights
The location is good, walkable from Amsterdam Central, The wallpaper was peeling from the walls and the paint was stained, They charge a €50 deposit that is not discussed previously and are currently trying to overcharge me by around £100 for changing from a single room to a double room
Lift is far too noisy ! Stairs are dangerous and steep If you allergic to cats don’t go as they walk in and out building Wall paper falling of the walls Paint working scratched off Shower leaks into the bathroom and then becomes dangerous
Unfortunately this was a bit of a disappointment. We booked 3 rooms. My poor sons room blew a breaker, and the outlet fried his charger. His shower would not turn off one morning and the door hanf=dle to the bathroom broke off. Not to mention that we=hen we showed up to his ready room, all 4 of the pillows were on the floor with no pillow cases on them. Our room had a buzzing in the wall all night one night and a similarly almost broken bathroom door handle so my husband had to close me in from the outside because I was afraid I was going to pull the handle off. We only got 2 pillows and were told we could not have anymore. Additionally the boiler went out so the whole hotel (maybe street) was witout water for an entire day.
Sara’s
Hotel was fine. Would make it better to have a kettle or at least a cup in your room for a drink but on the whole - it was an ok room with clean bedding and an en suite.
Very pleasant and friendly staff, great location, clean and cosy room. I loved staying there. Would love to stay again if I come back.
There were some issues with the property. We had no hot water and the radiator in the room would not turn off. The staff quickly resolved the issue the next morning and provided us with am alternative room
Sure cute hotel with a friendly staff!
Great staff however the bed was not the comfiest.
We enjoyed all aspects of the property, and particularly the presence of the lovely hotel cats!
Nice Property great location, nice and central good value for money
Swings and roundabouts
The location is good. Near to the tram to take you to central but walking distance to the museums. Relatively quiet. Lidl 3mins walk. At first the room looked very pleasant. I had read the other reviews and was very anxious about what to expect. As per the other reviews, yes there was patches of paint pealing and a patch of damp by the door. In city with so much water it can't come as too much of a surprise. The bathroom looked cute. With complimentary shower wash and hand wash. Again as per the other reviews, the water isn't contained but not too much of a problem if you're careful. There are no tea and coffee facilities, no cups, no iron. That was a little frustrating. We stayed in room 1 one on the ground floor. The windows opened wide and the radiator got hot so you could control the temperature to what you desire. Only be mindful that there are local cats that given the chance wouldnt hesitate to invade your space. Now, on to the unforgivable. The bed. It was made beautifully and the sheets were clean and soft. Pulling back the covers there is a mattress topper which was SO BADLY stained with brown patches it's not even a joke. What we didn't understand was why not cover them with a protector that could go in the wash?? The lack of care to the hygiene to bed has taken this hotel from a 3 to a 1. We paid over £100 a night for basic amenities in a reasonable location. As a minimum I expect a decent standard of sanitation. Wouldn't book again which is a real shame.
Slightly strange decor, definitely needs a refurb. Staff more abrupt than welcoming. You get the feeling they deal with a lot of rowdy guests so just assume we are all the same. It was a reasonable price tho and just on the edge of the busy areas.
A great little spot to stay when coming to Amsterdam. It's a short walk to the Leidsplein where you can visit the cafes or take the tram into city centre. There are restaurants nearby and busses to take you where you wish to go. The hotel is small but offers a continental breakfast from 8AM to 10AM. The front door is always open and a staff member is on duty in case you need help. They have single & double rooms which are clean and comfortable w private bathrooms & TVs. The hotel features the slowest elevator in Amsterdam and a fine cat who guards the front of the hotel. Well he may not be guarding it, he may be just hanging out, but a fine cat none the less! The prices were great and I'm sure to return sometime this year.
Great for the solo traveller
Well informed abd helpful staff, stairs are steep but there is a lift for use
I would rate 2.5 stars if possible. Good location, spacious room, big comfortable bed, nice en suite, very clean. Down side was tv and hairdryer didn’t work, never got the lift to work and my room was on the 4th floor, could hear conversations in next room.
Everything was very fine, clean and close to the centrum.
A cheap, basic stay
We booked this hotel for a 2 night stay. The Hotel is in a good location and it was easy to get around. Check-in is very basic. The stairs to the rooms are very steep although there is a lift. The room was big with a small balcony. The room decor is peeling and cracking and it needs updating although it was moderatly clean. The Tv needs updating as was not working. The room is like a sauna and we had to sleep with the door open. The radiator seems to be broken as we turned it down and it was still boiling. The shower was ok although very basic. We did not require any assistance from the office as we were away first thing and back late just to sleep which meant we wernt really fussed about the hotel being the way it was. We enjoyed our stay as the bed was comfy. Unfortunately we had guests in the hotel who were extremely noisy and with our room being at the top of the stairs it kept us awake qhich was not ideal. Check out, I had expected them to check the room since they took a deposit although they just refunded it. I asked for a receipt but got the one in which i paid it not the refund. I eill check that this goes back. Iverall an ok stay in A cheap 3 star hotel. If tou are going to be spending time to chill in your hotel then i would not book this one.
the property itself is really not the best. you could hear everything from outside the rooms and what was going on in the hallways. also the lift was the worst sometimes it worked sometimes it didnt and soo slow and loud. best thing was really only the location. very central and everything was nearby.
Steep stairs
Good location and decent size rooms. Stairs are ridiculously steep but there is a super-slow lift to use instead.
Will not be returning!! King size bed is two single beds pushed together with a topper laid on top after two nights on bed they pushed apart so i had to strip the bed to push back together and that's when i found a blood stained topper that i had been sleeping on for two days!!!! no smoking anywhere in the hotel but staff smoking weed underneath balcony! No tea coffee in room shower dribbles out While in room you could hear everything from others room could even hear girl next door to me having a wee due to NO carpets or rugs anywhere in hotel so sound travels the key cards are waste of time they open all the doors in the hotel had one man open our door while we were getting ready looking for his friend! The stairs are a death trap, use the lift well add 10 mins to your journey and don’t get a room next to it as you won’t be sleeping I have been many times to Amsterdam and I have to say worse place I ever stayed at only good thing to say was location
The room had mold, cobb webs, and mysterious splatter on the walls. The shower did not have a proper door/drainage which caused for water to go everywhere. The lights also did not work properly and constantly flickered/turned off. I would not choose to stay for more than a day or two
Poor
Not sure of her name but the receptionist lady with long black hair has absolutely awful customer service skills the hotel it’s self is conveniently located that’s the best I can say the whole hotel is very worn and shabby wall paper falling off the walls in the communal areas the room was so hot with no control in the room the room we stayed in smelt off damp we stayed for 4 days the room was not cleaned once or sheets changed. When we got to in the room the bed clothes were dirty with brown stains on shower looked liked it hadn’t been cleaned in months
Your paying for location not bad for a few nights
Felt like in between a hotel and a hostel but in a good way. The staff were friendly and helpful. Room is exactly what is needed. A space with a end and a bathroom
Decent for what your paying. Balcony was messy but no biggy. 7 minute walk from nearest canna cafe. Good staff. Quiet.
Overall the standard of the hotel was ok. The staff were lovely and the area was great. However, to improve the stars I would recommend having kettle, little fridge, or an area to be able to heat up food or make food. In the bathroom maybe a shower curtain so the water doesn’t go everywhere.
Dirty
Staff were lovely there were resident cats which was lovely but the room was filthy the bathroom door wouldn’t close the sink drawers were badly water damaged which was unsightly. There was crumbs in the chair from previous patrons and rubbish under the bed. When o asked when the rooms are cleaned I was told they’re only cleaned on request. The girls working there are lovely but I wouldn’t stay again. It sadly was not enjoyable at all pillow cases were also stained
Having stayed here previously and had a wonderful stay we were looking forward to returning. But this time we’ve left feeling incredibly disappointed, the room we were given was right next door to reception/front door so was often noisy. There was no tea or coffee provisions in the room where as last time there was this plus a coffee machine and the tv this time was smaller and not as good (was able to use Netflix in previous room). We stayed for 3 nights and there was no offer of fresh towels or bedding. On one wall the paint was all bubbled and coming off the wall and on another the wall paper was peeling a little, not very 3 stars vibes. All in all I feel robbed for the price I paid and can’t get my head around how the two stays at this same hotel have been so different. Unfortunately we won’t be staying again.
The stay was ok. Property could use cleaning and updating. The floors in the room were plastic/rubber mating you'd find in a gym, the shower had mold and no shower door (like most European bathrooms) so constantly soaked floor. The bed sheets and pillows were dingy but clean enough. Overall would only recommend based on price for the area, otherwise looking for something better.
DO NOT STAY!!!
DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. The rooms are not as the pictures show. Our room was in complete disarray and looked to not be properly cleaned for sometime. I booked this hotel months before as it had good reviews. But it was not in the state as described months ago. After our first night of our two night booking.. we left the hotel to see PEST CONTROL entering the hotel. The hotel staff said it was for renovations but that was obviously not true. We looked at the reviews and there were many reviews of BED BUGS. It is not worth your money and should not have ‘boutique’ associated with the name at all. This hotel should be shut down and not allowed to be posted on any platform.
improvement necessary !
Dirty toilet, never seem so dirty specially for boutique hotel? the stars are terrible to walk in, its like climbing. there is no curtain or close for shower which wet the whole bathroom. To be called a boutique hotel, they need improvement.
Good location. Easy check in. Room given was very close to the road. As such, little noisy. Dark floor with less light made the room darker. Very helpful front desk.
Room was in a very strange location as it was next to the front door. This meant that we could hear everyone and everything whilst in the room very loud. Room wasn’t very clean and when you took a shower the floor was covered in water.
Good hotel - Bad cleaner
Excellent location, 5 minute walk to a tram stop. Room wasn’t clean, however the staff were absolutely lovely and did everything they could for us. All in all it’s a great hotel for the location, has bike rentals from the hotel, set rate luxury taxis from the hotel to the airport cheaper than anyone else.
.
3rd floor room but email stated ground. No lounge. No tea or coffee facilities in the room. No restaurant or breakfasting areas
Stay for location rather than comfort
Very small room, typical of Amsterdam, shower and bathroom was a wet room in all but name, got very wet on floors after shower. But perfectly acceptable for short stay when only being used to sleep. Very friendly, helpful staff and plenty of good coffee shops, supermarkets, restaurants close by. Great location and I'd definitely stay again if the price was competitive.
Dont stay here BED BUG infested. The place is filthy. Wish I could give ZERO stars. Expedia should not have this place listed on their site.
HORROBLE ! NIGHTMARISH. This place was horrible. Hair and vomit in the shower. No luggage racks, stains on the one chair in the room, mattress had no middle support, fixtures were unclean, shower head broken and on the floor. Cleaning fees and clean laundry fees.
Location was great and we were able to get into our room prior to check in time. Room was dirty, no toilet paper, no shampoo and remote for tv missing (we were told “it had to be there somewhere”.
This property should not be sold to anyone Dirty HOT no ac floor’s disgusting walls filthy Stair’s unclimbable for some Washroom gross Cats roaming around for two people with cat allergies awful Worst hotel ever. Nice name but it ends there Expedia should embarrassed to sell this property Especially at such high prices Could not sleep after hearing about bed bugs at hotel Would love to hear back from Expedia why they sell this place
Cheap, and a convenient location, with decent restaurants nearby. The stairs are very narrow and the lift is slow and cannot be used at night so not for anyone old or infirm.
Good
I was extremely disappointed with my stay at the hotel. The room was in a deplorable state of cleanliness, with visible dirt, stains, and grime on the floors and surfaces. The bathroom was particularly appalling with a foul odor that permeated the entire space. It was clear that the room hadn't been properly cleaned or maintained in quite some time. I felt uncomfortable and disgusted throughout my stay, and I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and hygienic accommodation.
Really friendly staff. Very accommodating and always available 24/7
The room was a bit shabby and needed doing up again, the room wasn’t ready for the check in time. The stairs in the building are incredibly steep - there is a lift though! The hairdryer was broken and useable. There were no facilities in the room such as cups, glasses, kettle, coffee etc. My partner woke up with bites all over her leg - suspected bed bugs.
BED BUGS EVERYWHERE
HORRIBLE STAY. RIDDLED WITH BED BUGS. This hotel is disgusting and the service is horrible. When you walk in you notice all the linen and extra bed sheet are kept RIGHT beside the front door, which helps explain our main complaint : BED BUGS IN OUR ROOM. Outside of the fact that our room was dirty (hair and dirt all over the place), we found one dead bed bug and one live bed bug in our bed after laying down. We immediately packed up our items and notified the front desk. After sending the photo proof we had of our experience, the hotel refuses to refund us. Despite the fact that two other reviews note that bed bugs have been found this year (one in april and one two days before our check in date on aug 9) they hotel refuses to acknowledge the health and safety concern. At the time we were told that we would receive a refund after the employee contacted the manager (front desk staff seemed unconcerned and indifferent). The manager was even worse. She accused us of mistaking what we saw for other bugs (which is still disgusting and dirty??) and then said we were lying and they would not be providing a refund. After much back and forth and multiple images and videos of proof the hotel refuses to acknowledge the health concern or refund us. DO NOT STAY HERE. They are unfriendly, unhelpful, uncooperative and SCAMMERS. The farthest thing from operating in good faith or following best business practices.
Great location for a 3 night stay. Rooms were very strange in layout with very little room to walk around the bed. The toilet and sink were not clean and if you use the rain shower head then the bathroom will flood. There are cats on the property but this did not bother my husband or I. The warm was very warm, unbearable at times with only one small fan provided that did nothing to help.
Where do I start! This has to be hands down the worst most disgusting hotel room I have ever stayed in. To begin with the hotel staff are rude and no help at all. The stairs up to the rooms are very unsafe you practically have to climb up them they are that steep. Upon arrival we were asked to leave our baggage in a holding room where there were two dirty looking cats that were rubbing themself up against mine and other peoples luggage. I could see in the corner of the room there was "fresh" bedding to which another cat was sat on top of. Totally disgusting/unhygienic and really unpleasant to think these are the sheets you are sleeping on. Once making it up to the room the pictures advertised proved themself to be completely false. Dirt and grime all over the floors, my socks went from white to black within seconds. Big thick balls of human hair brushed to the side of the room with dirty behind the bed. The white sheets on the bed had dark alarming marks all over. Some brown which looked like stale sweat. The bathroom was shocking too, poorly designed and poor drainage. Each time you get a shower you're practically in a pool off water in the bathroom. Here's the worst part. After one night of hell in a room to which I can only describe as despicable. My self and partner woke up covered in red bites head to toe. I counted 12 bites on my body. The beds were riddled with bed bugs. I had to visit the pharmacy to get some cream and tablet's. Do not stay here. It's 0/10
I stayed 4 nights at Sara’s and got about what I expected. The room was a good size, updated, and comfortable. I had a room on the ground floor and could hear everything going on in the entrance hall. The sheets also didn’t seem clean (there was some hair on them), but there were no bedbugs. I did not really have issues with the shower flooding the bathroom as others did. The staff were all very nice and helpful. I also got my deposit back without any issue. Walkable, 10-40 min to everything I wanted to do. One heads up to other guests: there are several cats on the property and some cat hair in the rooms. They are all friendly and I love cats so this was a plus for me, but if you are allergic it might be best to find another hotel
This property has its pros and cons, I can only share my honest experience. Initially I had to wait until exactly 15:00 to check in because my room was not ready. However, when I checked in, the room had not been properly cleaned. There was thick dust on the desk and precarious stains in the bathroom. My bed sheets also looked like they had been attacked by Wolverine - rips in them. To be fair, the hotel offered me new sheets and cleaning free of charge, but I was already settled. I was given one of the larger double rooms which was nice, however, the lift was right opposite my door and I could hear it throughout the day/night. The walls are quite thin as well so you can hear the neighbours. The lift is also very slow, which there is a sign warning you of this. To summarise: Pro’s: - Good Location - walking distance to shops, clubs and transport - Good sized rooms - Luggage storage - Lift - Reasonably priced Cons: - Very Noisy! - Basic facilities - no mini fridge etc
Staff were very friendly, nice cat in reception and good area. However the room wasn’t clean, dirty sheets, bathroom was a state and walls were very thin, can hear everything.
