Dinner buffet at al maha restaurant needs to more arrangement , Swimming pool did not have any facilities like towels and toilets in it is closed , shifting bags from reception to room takes too much time.

Generally was good but I think there were a problem with the condition as there was water in the floor carpet from the seeling that changed the room smell

The room was roomy and comfortable. The bed was also comfortable. I didnt like how small the shower was, and it did t have a full enclosed shower door. Water got on the floor everytime i showered.

I booked this hotel because of the location which is about a 10 minute walk to a few restaurants I like to visit to pick up dinner to take back to my hotel. There are a few other hotels in the area where I normally stay but their prices this time were high so I took a chance with the Sapphire Plaza Hotel. It was a good hotel, value for money. There was a big LCD tv, a decent number of English channels like CNN and BBC and a small gym with a few pieces of cardio equipment. I will stay again.

We had a 12 hour layover in Doha so it was very nice to have a hotel and sleep for a few hours before departing to Hanoi at 3AM. Lovely hotel, great location, Staff friendly and helpful. Would recommend it to my friends.

Dirty towels , Dirty bedsheets and bed bugs !!!! Live and eating your head .. and even you show live video and email the General Manager he don’t care because it seems his aware and don’t mind .... So disappointed!!!

Disappointed 4 star hotel

So disappointed 4 star hotel... Bed with old guest hair, old towels , no hot water at shower , no managers or in charge person at night. They don’t respect there rules and government rules for smoking at non smoking rooms

The room was really good. The breakfast which was provided as complimentary was really refreshing.

Overall, not bad, but some bugs in the bathroom.

It was a quick trip through Doha so we only stayed one night for our layover. The hotel staff was friendly and accomodating. The rooms were huge! Complimentary water was nice and they refilled too. There were some gnat/bugs but they seemed to be contained to the bathroom. Not sure what they were exactly, but it still kind of grossed us out. The shower was odd and didn't have a full door or curtain. By the time you were finished showering, there was a huge pool of water on the bathroom floor. All in all, would still recommend especially if it's a quick stay due to a layover or something like that. We didn't spend too much time in the hotel since we wanted to see the city.

The all in one facility that caters my needs , clean and comfortable .

Very comfy beds and rooms, the staff is excellent, the food from the restaurant is brill. Usama from night shift staff, who covers room service is absulte star. The door and carpark staff are very prompt. The building itself needs abit of a touch up paint windows cleared. Other than its great. Biggest down side for me is the indoor swimming pool and no real chill out lounge area in the hotel.

The service was also excellent and that also was true of the location. Within easy reach of the city of Doha and its environs. The atmosphere within the facilities was also excellent. Very nice hotel for the price i paid, location is brilliant and a short ride away from places to visit. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Qatar Only negative i say about the hotel is the breakfast could do with a better selection

The room is not clean and it’s not comfortable but it’s big room. And the water is very hot there’s no cooling system and the Internet is poor and the TV signal is horrible.

Excellent all round stay!

Amazing hotel and value for money. Thoroughly recommend, excellent breakfast choice too. Beautiful room, could do with a few more TV channels in English apart from standard news channels but excellent room facilities otherwise.

Beautiful

Reasonable hotel but dry and tiny pool

Advertised mini bar and pool but is a dry hotel with tiny pool and unfortunately in a poor area with no services. The staff are friendly overall but I'd advise using Uber as they kept offering limos which were Kia or basic Nissan at inflated prices. Clean room and overall nice but the TV is purely Arabic except for CNN and France 24 which are English and French respectively. Movie channels were in Arabic.

Convenient but dated

The hotel has certainly seen its prime, probably a decade ago. If you are looking for a reasonably priced place close enough to the airport for a night, I'd highly recommend it but certainly dated. The hotel staff was super nice and helpful which definitely made up for the hotel not being up to date.

Comfortable Stay

We enjoyed a comfortable stay at the Sapphire Plaza Hotel. Rooms are very clean. Staff was helpful when we tried to arrange transportation, however, be wary they may call a private driver (“limousine”) in lieu of a taxi for you. Ask for a metered taxi, which will save you money. There is currently a lot of construction near the hotel so unfortunately it is not very walkable to attractions or to the public busses. Expect to take a taxi everywhere you go.

fantastic room

I had a long trip , visiting on business . Long days made me very tired. It was great to come back to what was like an apartment more than a hotel room.

Good thing about hotel is price that sit . Their service level is going down day by day! Cleaning of the rooms not not , noise inside the hotel reaches unbearable level due to some function in the ground floor almost every other day. Even for toe;s you should call them several times. Hotel was my choice earlier but most probably I wont stay again

Exceptional

Check-in took some time but they upgraded my room. The staff were very helpful and friendly the room was clean and spacious. I value my privacy and so did the hotel.

Good hotel and not bad the rooms is clean the stuff are polite the hotel is full of life but i got shoked because the executive suite did not include a breakfast which is the high level rooms But any ways they can provide a vouchers its 50 riyal per day and the food not bad

Housekeeping is not good. Towels quality is very pad and old. service is not good. I stayed three times before in the same hotel. It was much better before.

It was excellent, indeed.

The local area is under construction so it is a challenge to walk to other parts of the city. The hotel does not allow charges to your room so that may be a consideration for some people. Staff is very friendly and helpful and rooms are in a barge and quite comfortable!

Was a good hotel at a reasonable price

It was a pleasant and comfortable stay,except that sometimes they can forget to clean your room even after you put the sign on the door. Breakfast leaves a lot to be desired. Easier to get a taxi from the airport which costed us 57 qatari riyals at night time with no traffic. We went for a delux room which had a plenty of space.

Lovely hotel. Interior is beautiful. Rooms are very comfortable. Had dinner at the hotel and it was a buffet with lots of options and friendly staff. Have booked again to stay in a few weeks! Would recommend cheese toast for room service! Room 606

Nice hotel

Very nice hotel and the price it's good, location near the city and safely

Overall is comfort stay, but there are stains on the carpet in the room and the water boiler has bad smell. Not convenient to find restaurants around.

Very Pleasant Stay, Delightful Staff

I booked to stay at the Sapphire Plaza Hotel for a week in order to tour around Doha and within Qatar. My check-in and check-out times were out of the usual time-frame i.e. early morning arrival and late night departure, and as a result of this, I had to pay for two additional nights. I was very tired and a little annoyed, as this had not been brought to my attention at the time of booking via Hotels.com. However, the situation was handled extremely well by Hamid, at Reception. He was kind, patient and offered me an upgraded room at the same price as the "classic" room I had booked. The following day I was advised I could stay on in the same "upgraded" room for the duration of my stay, which was gladly received. The bed was really comfortable, one of the nicest I've slept in. The TV had a few English speaking channels, which was good if one wanted to relax and watch a movie. The breakfast was adequate with a fair assortment to chose from. The one time I ate dinner in the hotel restaurant the buffet food was freshly prepared and tasty. WiFi was good quality both in the room and lounge area. The hotel is conveniently located (via taxi, of which I used Uber) to most points of interest in Doha and 20 minutes drive from/to the airport. I have no complaints about my stay at The Sapphire Plaza Hotel and found every person I encountered to be warm, sincere and helpful. I would have no hesitation in staying here again.

Nice hotel for a layover

We stayed at this hotel during a 10hr layover in Doha. Arrived and left in darkness so cannot comment on location, other than was an easy taxi ride from airport. The hotel is very nice, rooms extremely clean and comfortable, pool is small but was nice to stretch out after flight. The staff were super friendly.

The staff is doing the best they can but the facility (rooms especially) is dated and needs renovation. The breakfast is decent and the location is very central to downtown.

Doha experiences

Very clean modern Hotel and staff willing to assist. Location - you require taxi service to any local points but this would apply to most hotels in Doha and taxis pretty cheap. Hotel provides good transfer service to Airport. In house restaurants provide good average menus - but for very good experience and range of really affordable options try the Souk. Bear in mind our review based as travelers and not local clients - and we did find the Hotel pretty thin on "tourist information".-. Also take into account local temperatures when travelling. But overall very pleased with accommodation and level of service..

Just Okay

Food is quite expensive and not value for money. The taste and the quantity wasn't satisfying. Rest all is fine.

A Real Saphirre of a Jewel. Pleasantly Surprised

Missed flight connection and needed a nice hotel not too far from Doha airport. When the taxi took us there, we were happy and astonished at such a remarkable facility. We ordered room service.

Great, simple, not-many-frills hotel. The interior is nicely decorated, the rooms were clean, simple, and spacious enough. The gym is decent for a hotel gym: 2 treadmills, 2 elliptical, a spin machine, an all-in one machine for rows/lat pulldowns, etc; and a wide array of dumbells. A la carte room service is reasonably priced, $10 for a solid breakfast.

Great 4 days in Doha

The staff were very friendly and willing but sometimes found it hard to understand what we were asking for.
