The hotel location is not easily visible from the street and one has to look out for the signage. It provides complimentary shuttle to and from Ubud Centre. It also runs the adjacent Japanese restaurant which serves breakfast to hotel guests in the morning. Food from the restaurant is good. One can also find a lot of dining options along the same stretch of road. We are impressed with the excellent services by the hotel staff who were very helpful and responded swiftly to our requests. Some areas of improvements that the hotel management can consider are stronger water pressure from the shower facilities and brighter lighting in the room.

A perfect hotel with fantastic service

We had an incredible stay at Sapodilla. The staff are very attentive and always ready to help out. The hotel is beautiful, the pool is perfectly maintained and clean, and our room was excellent. We had breakfast brought to our room each day and the food was delicious, so fresh. I cannot recommend this hotel more, the location was perfect, an easy walk to restaurants and cafes, and even the Monkey Forest. The onsite restaurant is also delicious and we had dinner there with a lovely voucher from the hotel. We'll definitely come back here, it was perfect.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They made our stay very special. The amenities were clean and very relaxing. It is convenient and close to local shops and restaurants.

Honeymoon Bliss

We stayed at Sapodilla for 4 nights as part of our honeymoon Bali trip. Set just off from the busy street, the serenity means you dont even notice that but its very handy when you want to explore the surroundings. The room was beautiful and spacious. We had a balcony which had private steps to the lovely pool. The bed was spacious and comfortable and had a mosquito net if you're that way inclined though we had no issues with bugs. A large shower and stone bath ensured cleanliness in a luxurious fashion and the wide variety of breakfast ensured you never get bored. What truly sets Sapodilla apart is the service - a friendly smile at every turn and the use of whatsapp to keep in touch means any question or request you have is answered almost instantly. Their shuttle service is very thoughtful, saving on taxis if you need a quick lift to the monkey forest for example. There's a reason that Sapodilla is so highly rated, do yourself a favour and see for yourself.

The shuttle service was a blessing. It made arrival stress-free. The room is comfortable beyond expectations and staff have been so incredibly accommodating. The food has been scrumptious.

This hotel is a hidden gem. Everyone was so nice and helpful. Our room and entire experience was amazing.

I've stayed at Sapodilla Ubud three years ago. It is a lovely hotel. Unfortunately, this time I was moved to their sister hotel because the pool was under construction. The manager contacted me and communicated with me efficiently on the matter. Also, she gave me options as well because of the issue. The sister hotel Sabana is very clean, good wifi and the staff is friendly. The sister hotel is about 200 meters from Sapodilla, brand new (built-in 2019), and on a quiet road.

My sister and I really enjoyed our time here. The staff, specifically Eka really made the experience great and went out of there way to make you feel at home. The breakfast was okay and needs some work. But the other food options were great. If you need anything, just speak to the staff. A very unique experience. Different from other places. Give this place a try. Will definitely return.

Amazing!

The staff here really know how to make you feel like home (only better!) - every time you leave or return, they will always welcome you 'home' by your first names. They gave us a basic mobile phone to use and keep with us in case of any issues whilst exploring and even provided a free taxi service during our stay for anywhere within the local area. Nothing was ever too much trouble and this place is a true oasis (you would never believe this is just off a main road, nor could you tell once you're lounging out by the pool). We stayed in the poolside King's suite which was cleaned and prepared twice daily! We cannot recommend this place highly enough!

The entrance with the arch with plants growing cascading down it was a beautiful welcome sight. The staff are friendly and very warm.

Sapodilla was a lovely place to stay. The staff were incredible and went out of their way to help. Rooms were spacious, modern and very clean.

Friendly and efficient staff, thorough with information given about the property. Small complex, quiet and relaxing. Pool temperature was warm; there was a seat around the edge but no steps to enter. Big shower. Good air con. Firm bed but comfy. Complimentary shuttle around Ubud was handy. We enjoyed the complimentary afternoon tea on our patio. Breakfast was sufficient, order from a menu, 6 options of 3 courses plus tea, coffee & juice.

As a solo female traveler I felt so safe and I was treated incredibly well. The staff says that they want you to feel at home and the do everything to make you feel that way. The room was very large with a gorgeous balcony. I still dream about the bathtub, pool and the room service was delicious. I also tried the floating breakfast and flower bath, AMAZING! The shuttle service was great but the location was so convenient that I didn’t even need it. I plan to stay here again in the future.

Staff were incredible would highly recommend for this alone. Location was great and the pool offered sun as well as a great place to cook off. My only wish was that the bed was more comfortable, it was too form to the point of being uncomfortable and affecting my sleep. But honestly it was a fantastic hotel

The Staff were absolutely amazing, I fell ill whilst on my holiday and the staff really looked after me nothing was too much and there was a genuine care there for my well being. All the staff were amazing I have traveled a bit and nothing has rivaled the service at sappodilla, I will visit there again without hesitation.

The property has an amazing location, extremely clean room, great staff and good amenities for the price. One thing I would improve is the food, basic and to be honest, missing some flavour. But overall this place is 5/5 when considering the price.

Perfect stay

Perfect location for all main attractions. The staff were amazing and so helpful. There were so many thoughtful finishing touches. They gave us a mobile to call them if we needed anything, whether in the hotel or out and about. There was a little bottle of insect repellant on our balcony. Great stay if you are in ubud for a few days. The main streets can be chaotic, busy and overwhelming. The hotel is set just back off the main road and it feels so peaceful and tranquil. Would stay here again if we returned without a doubt.

Such a sweet and homely place to stay. Staff went out of their way to accomodate and make us feel comfortable and happy. They drove us wherever we wanted to go in town for dinner and gave us a mobile to call them with when we wanted a free pick up. Really enjoyed being here!

Excellent service

This was our first stop and definitely our favourite hotel of the whole trip. The staff were amazing, very friendly and made you feel special.

We stayed in 3 places whilst in Bali and this was our favourite. It’s a haven of calm off the busy Ubud streets. The staff are friendly, hardworking and very professional. The rooms are large and immaculate. We loved having a poolside room. The pool was never busy and we could always get poolside sun beds. We had our breakfasts outside our room which was lovely. A free ‘afternoon tea’ was served but be aware that the treats are not like European cakes! ( one was a deep fried leaf!). My partner enjoyed trying the different things though. It was a bonus to have a free taxi service within Ubud. We used it a couple of times but also did a lot of walking. A welcoming and peaceful place. Highly recommended!

Gem resort in Ubud

Love the flexible shuttle service which need not start or end with the resort! They provide bottle of water even for your excursion. Well design of room which has a walk-in wardrobe next to the bathroom and toilet, separated from the bedroom. Big fluffy towels, sea salt for bath tub, even handy bottle of insect repellent provided. Yummy breakfast with many options. Not forgetting the caring and thoughtful crew and Yuli. Despite a bit of hiccups which were not their fault, they went beyond our expectations and we were very happy with our stay. Two thumbs up!

Post Sailing Oasis

Our stay was fantastic, a tranquil oasis in the middle of a bustling street. We love the pool and grounds and really appreciated the extremely helpful staff, and the delicious White Ginger restaurant just steps away from the rooms. The breakfast options where delightful, as the PodTia and the Duck at dinner. The shuttle service was the best we experienced on our trip. Namaste and Thank you Sapodilla

Small,cosy and very well located in Ubad Town. Staff were absolutely fantastic in every way ! So many personal touches made us feel very comfortable and well cared for. Food at their restaurant was delicious! I’m vegetarian but plenty of veggie options. Would definitely go back and stay there without hesitation.

What an absolute pleasure it was to stay here. All the staff are wonderful. So friendly and helpful. There is nothing here that needs improvement. A little oasis from the busy streets of Ubud.

We loved our room, the staff, and breakfasts. However, an adjacent gas station makes repairs on metal (loud electric sawing) until the evening and there is no closure separating the gas station fr the hotel. This, you can hear all of the street noise from this opening. The sound of cars, scooters, and motorcycles goes on from about 8 am to 1 am. The hotel can build a cement structure between its boundary with the gas station to block the sawing and street noises. We stayed in room 202, long side of the pool, second floor. We recommend that you ask for a room on the short side of the pool, as far fr the street and gas station as possible. Not sure if there is a room 216. The rooms upstairs started at 200 or 201 and were by the guest reception; this area is very loud. Vroom, vroom, saw, saw.

Amazing stay and top notch customer service.

The staff was really sweet and accommodating. Their attention to detail was really thoughtful and appreciated. Everything from remembering your name to the room being magically cleaned while you’re at breakfast and sheets turned down when you arrive home. I also really loved their natural in-house made complimentary mosquito repellent they leave outside.

I loved staying here and would definitely recommend it! The room was super clean, the staff tended to it multiple times a day, and had everything I needed. The room was also very large!! Balcony was great. The staff were amazing, so friendly and so accommodating. They provide transport via motorbike or car anywhere in downtown Ubud and even give you a cell phone that you can use to call them (for transport or to order breakfast to your room). Such a nice touch and made all the difference for a solo female traveler like myself. Great price for your stay. Breakfast was also tasty and plentiful!! It’s about a 10-15 minute walk to all the shops and downtown area, so not far at all and very doable and enjoyable. The wifi was perfect, didn’t have any issues, was even able to video call.

It lives up to the great reviews I think. I have travelled SE Asia and Bali a lot and can say the service is outstanding. We requested changed to menu and all sorts of little things and nothing was too hard. Would certainly stay again without hesitation.

The hotel was very clean and in an excellent location for restaurants within a walking distance but they do offer a shuttle service to places within Ubud if you would prefer. This place is fantastic! Book for yourself and see, the rooms are large, clean and so comfortable. The staff are fantastic and the service is second to none.

Excellent small hotel. Small grounds, lovely pool. Rooms big, comfortable and clean. Breakfast was great every morning. A selection of 5 different multi course menus. Served with exceptional service in the hotels restaurant, white ginger. It situated on the south of centre one of the Main Street running into to centre. About a twenty minute walk past endless shops, eateries, etc. Only short walk to monkey forest. The hotel is happy to shuttle you nearly anywhere and bring you back. The staff were really wonderful. If you want a hotel not far from centre this is good. There are resort hotels a bit out with big grounds, more jungly and the like for similar price but you can't just walk out the door of these to multiple restaurants. I'd def recommend this hotel.

It was one of our best stay in a hotel. The staff here is so polite and always ready to help. They always speak to you with a smile on their face. The room was decently spacious and very clean. All rooms have pool view. We got an upper floor room which provide more privacy. Balcony of ground floor rooms open directly towards pool. So if you like enjoying poolside, then go for ground floor rooms. They also provide free pick up and drop to anywhere within Ubud. They provide a mobile device for room service and you can take it outside as well, to call hotel when you need pick up back to hotel or anywhere else in Ubud.

Fantastic hotel, superb staff

We added an extra night here on the strength of the other reviews we had read and we are so glad we did. Amazing staff, fantastic, large room, great pool and superb extra touches - free mosquito repellent left for us (and topped up regularly), a phone to take out with us so we could call the free shuttle any time and even free afternoon tea each day if we wanted it! Don't hesitate to book, we loved it.

Excellent hotel, faultless service

We loved staying at Sapodilla, the staff were fantastic, the room felt really luxurious and all the little added touches (mosquito repellent left on our table and regularly topped up, universal adaptor plug in the room, umbrellas provided and the free shuttle available whenever we wanted it) meant we felt thoroughly pampered. The staff in the cafe knew exactly how I liked my soya milk pancake and that I don't like papaya after a day or two, and they were so welcoming to our little boy. I did some classes at the Yoga Barn which was withing ten minutes walk, and there are some excellent restaurants around. The hotel provides a mobile phone to take with you, so you can call the shuttle from anywhere in the town to be collected - this was invaluable with a little boy in the monsoon rain. It is a really fantastic place to be, I felt really sad to leave.

Truly excellent service with kind, warm, helpful, and welcoming staff. The room was nice and modern and just steps from the delightful pool. Breakfast was included and was good. Only negative was the not-so-great wifi connection. Absolutely loved the small details including the hotel provide a delicious smelling bug spray. Highly recommended

Amazing place with brilliant service

The location is on a very busy street away from the center of Ubud. You can hear road and construction noise outside of your room. Also, the first floor rooms can not have the door open if you aren’t there is direct access from anyone walking by.

It was our first time in Ubud and we couldn’t have stayed in a more friendly and homely place! The staff were excellent and were always on hand. The location was perfect, close to monkey forest street. The hotel provided a free shuttle service which was a lovely surprise. Breakfast was also available in room at no extra cost. The hotel also has a restaurant on site called White Ginger and we had one evening meal which was lovely. Loved our stay at Sapodilla!!! Thank you!! Will definitely return and recommend.

Location was great for me , easy 20 minute stroll to central Ubud but through hotel could get picked up or dropped off. Really nice hotel with extremely friendly staff

Loads of restaurants & shops within walking distance. It is tucked away from the main busy road so its quiet at night. The room was spacious and clean and was attended to multiple times a day. The room included insect repellent and mosquito nets which was good. WIFI was intermittent which isn’t the best but is useable There was a free shuttle service that took you to anywhere within the Ubud area. They provided a phone which you could call when you wanted picking up. The shuttle guys were also very friendly and efficient (within 30 mins of calling) Breakfast quality was okay. It had a variety of options so there’s something for everyone. They had afternoon tea which was also okay. Price of food & drink was reasonable Only issue we had, is that we booked transport to Sanur through the hotel which was more expensive than other places but we felt the people were nice and reliable and the shuttle service was comfortable. However after being in the taxi for 10 mins we realised the taxi was infested with cockroaches which was unacceptable and a massive disappointment to end such a wonderful stay. If you are going to recommend a travel service (more expensive than elsewhere) it has to reflect your hotel standards also!!! Having said that, I would recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again if we stay in Ubud but other than the shuttle service, organise your own transport.

An amazing stay at Sapodilla. Yuli was a most accommodating hostess and our son loved her! The rooms were clean and comfortable, the breakfasts were hearty, the pool was clean and cool and the shuttle was extremely handy. They made excellent cocktails! I would highly recommend staying at Sapodilla if travelling to Ubud.

If you're looking for a relaxing and quiet reprieve from exploring Bali, look no further than Sapodilla. The hotel is located in the heart of Ubud, half an hour away from Ubud Central, but it is still somehow peaceful at night. Really, we could barely hear the traffic going on outside once the room door is closed! Although the hotel is more boutique than luxury, the service of the staff is so much better -- second to none, I would say -- than most luxury hotels I've been in. The front desk staff were extremely attentive to our comings and goings and listened to any feedback we had. All with a warm smile. The White Ginger restaurant staff were also amazing with our food and drink orders (their tom yum soup is possibly the best I've had outside of Thailand!). My heartfelt compliments to the Sapodilla team for being incredible. If I had any real feedback, it would be for the shower water pressure to be harder. A rainfall showerhead is great and all but it isn't much if the water pressure is too gentle. The hairdryer could be more powerful as well. However, these are really minor complaints because the hotel was absolutely charming from the beginning to the end of our trip. When I return to Bali, I will certainly stay with Sapodilla again.

Amazing Hospitality

Everyone at the hotel was so unbelievably nice! The manager and several others manages to memorize our names and addressed us every time they saw us. The resort was very clean and welcoming, and the restaurant was great! I even got very sick on the trip and they shuttled my friend to the pharmacy to pick me up medication!

Excellent accommodation in Ubud

This is a lovely boutique style accommodation with a friendly family feel. The staff were very accommodating and you felt as though they really cared about their guests. The pool area was well maintained and had a relaxing feel. Room service was available for all meals including breakfast which was delivered to our balcony every day of our stay. My friend was also celebrating her birthday during our stay and the staff left rose petals on the bed in the shape of a happy birthday message! They also came to the room later in the evening with a birthday cake and sang her Happy Birthday! The room also had a lovely free standing bath. The TV reception and channel choice wasn't great and the Wifi struggled when in the room but you are meant to be on holidays so these things shouldn't detract! A great choice for accommodation in Ubud overall.

Best experience!

We had originally booked for 2 nights but after decided we'd like to stay for 3. When we arrived, we were greeted with cool towels and a welcome drink and after asking about staying a 3rd night, they found us a room at their sister hotel, Motama Villas and got a discounted price there to help us out! They were very quick to clean the room and help us with any issues. Everyone was very nice and very friendly and Yuli even walked over to great us at Motama Villas when we checked in there. Would highly recommend this hotel and Villas to anyone staying in Ubud! You won't regret it!

Excellent service

The Sapodilla hotel is one of a kind. Beautiful small hotel with lovely rooms, beautiful gardens and inviting pool. It’s the staff that make it though, willing to go above and beyond to to make your stay an enjoyable one. We will be back for sure.
