This was a great place to stay in Apollo Bay. Reasonably priced. Easy walk to restaurants and beach. Good communication to manage self check in and out.

The lady staff member was welcoming friendly & helpful an assett to the organisation which runs this establishment

Nice functional motel in a good position to walk to beach and restaurants. Check in and out was via envelope and key drop so didn’t interact with anyone which felt a bit impersonal. The reception was closed for both days we were there and a Christmas tree was still visible!

Good location for town. Room was a little tired and some outside areas needed some attention eg broken tiles in passage way. But for us biggest issue was no contact at all with any members of staff. Key picked up from box outside reception as per emailed instructions and returned to another box on departure. Made the whole experience a bit impersonal.

Parking v tight. Had to park in the street. Re keys to pick up on arrival- not sure having my name written on an envelope for all to view is a safe and discreet method. Perhaps all unit keys in envelopes could be in a locked box pinpad with code forwarded to people who booked units. Thankyou for asking

Great motel, easy to check in, clean and close to the beach and shops. We even had a beach view from the balcony. We would recommend it.

We had a lovely time. The Sandpiper is just the right distance from the shops, cafes, restaurants and the beach to mean we could park the car on Monday - safely off the street - and not drive it again until Friday! Cosy and clean. Felt nice to be in.

Terrific position, but disappointing room. No cupboard or shelves to put clothing. King bed is too singles pushed together, which moved apart during the night. Rats in roof which kept us awake with their gnawing within the ceiling, which might explain the off smell when we entered, thus needing to open all doors. TV only has movies, so we couldn't watch the news, Big Bash or tennis. There were no instruction booklets on how to use the TV or Aircon. Overpriced.

Great stay, noting you have no interaction with staff but that is fine. Easy check in. Room great, bed comfy and great you can microwave and make toast if you want. Easy walk to beach and great coffee. Bathroom fitted out well and good supplies including make up wipes . Highly recommend .

Sandpiper Motel 2 days stay

Overall is good with my 2 days stay, the bed is very comfortable. Comes with portable warmer. The unpleasant part was, when I flipped up the sofa cushion. I found used tissues, crumbs from chips and nuts.The sofa do have a something like urine smell too. I reported the next morning when I happened to meet a lady w/o uniform near the reception area. Fortunately, when we are back in the evening. They managed to clean it up.

Lovely little motel, we arrived around 530pm so our key was outside in an envelope wating to be collected with a note detailing the facilities and dining options in the area. Well presented room with an excellent shower with free toiletries. We really enjoyed our stay and wished we had stayed for longer than 1 night.

Property was nice. Not a fan of remote reception.

The accommodation was lovely. Very clean & updated vacilities. Parking was easy. A very nice place to stay. Only down side was that you could loudly hear any other people staying through the walls.

A last minute decision to book a room meant the unstaffed reception desk was not expecting us, but a phone-call, 'How to ...' SMSd reply & very helpful laundry worker meant we still had a very comfortable stay. Trouble with the TV was also promptly resolved, in person.

Easy to find, room was quite small and lacked the basics, no reception area, picked up key in an envelope. No bench top and no plates to use to make toast. The small window by the door let a lot of light in, so the room wasn’t as dark as it should have been. Shower pressure was good.

Great property in such a cute area. Easy to access, easy and seamless check-in and very clean! Will definitely be back.

The bed and cleanliness

Bathroom heating was nice after getting out of the shower. Check in was easy and well explained in email. Would have been nice to have outdoor lights as quite dark when came back from an evening outing and left at 06:00 am next day Would have been nice to have someone to ask or have breakfast times posted

Clean, quiet, convenient location for touring GOR. Nothing fancy. Easy self check in and out. Only provided 1 hand towel and 1 wash cloth. Would be nice to have 2 of each. Seems to be a thing in Australia.

Missing attention to detail. No dinner plates, 1 knife, 2 forks. There’s a microwave but nothing to cook anything on.

It was strange not seeing anybody for check-in and check-out!

The room is cozy and comfortable and I’m super appreciative of the room upgrade. I was so tired when I arrived and it was easy to get comfortable and have a good sleep!

Okay for a night

Easy check-in. Pleasant enough surroundings; short walk to Apollo Bay food outlets. Clean and comfy king-sized bed. Bathroom modern-ish, but with a strange plasticky floor.

Location was great

Room was clean and comfortable. Location excellent, could walk into the town and only metres from the beach. Reception was closed at all times, but checkin worked fine just collecting an envelope outside the office. Slightly disappointed by the soundproofing from above when guest was walking around late at night, but that's a bit luck of the draw. Big bathroom, good shower. Fridge had a good freezer, and mugs/bowls/plates/cutlery was supplied. Plenty of table space and 4 chairs inside plus 2 chairs outside. Nice little patio outside. Wifi worked fine. Price failry high for the size of room but it was a long weekend in summertime.

The walls are quite thin and we can hear the next room & from the street. It’s convenient and easy walk to town/beach. Self-checkin is easy except they didn’t say they left the key outside the Reception. Overall it’s ok to stay for a few nights (I only stayed 1 night).

Good clean and secure accommodations. Very comfortable bed. Basic furnishings but suitable for our one night stay. Monogrammed towels and bedding were a nice touch. Room had a nice shower. I'm not a fan of contactless check in and out and despite it being 3:30 pm when we checked in, the office was locked up and we had to rely on the instructions provided with our room card in order to gain access. Went around a couple times before we finally found our room on the upstairs floor.

Simple room with a comfortable bed, walkable distance to the beach and shops. Contactless check in and check out. A couple of water bottles would have been a great add on.

Clean and tidy motel with good sized rooms well situated just on edge of town so quiet but an easy walk into the bars and the restaurants. Bizarrely never saw the staff as all keys etc were left for us to collect but as we had no issues the set up seemed to work well. Recommended as a stop off if your travelling the Ocean road

Comfortable motel in quiet location very close to beach and town centre. We had a light and airy room on the first floor with a sea view. Very clean and well equipped. I would highly recommend.
