Service was on the whole really good, except we got ghosted by one butler 🙃 the property is really nice, but a bigger pool would be nicer. The best part was easy access to hillside pool on the sister property 😄 we got an ocean view room but there was barely a view of the ocean. Bed was a little too soft for me, and water in bathtub drained too slow (we complained 3 times). Overall I’m still rating it 5 stars because we had a fun time, and the staff on the whole seemed pretty happy and were very helpful, but I probably wouldn’t go back, check out a different resort next time.

The Royal Plantation is a heavenly getaway. Seated on the beautiful coastline of Jamaica, this gem is a prime, relaxing location. The staff, particularly the butler service, exceeding our expectations and set the bar for hospitality. My wife and I cannot wait to return on our next trip.

It’s a beautiful property but I had a lot of issues during my stay

It’s a beautiful and a small resort with excellent service. Our butlers Robert and Anthony were fantastic. The hotel management Omar and Sheldon were very helpful. There is a regular shuttle service to other nearby Sandal resorts if you wanted more entertainment or food options. Our only issue was that the bathrooms need modernising. It’s great for golf players too. We had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay.

It wasn’t the fanciest sandals I ever went to, but it was nice. It was much further from the airport than I thought it was.

Beautiful property with a fantastic staff. This was our first Sandals experience and it was everything we had hoped. We celebrated our anniversary and they made it very special. It’s a smaller property that’s more intimate and definitely quieter than the big resorts. There were a couple days there were only three other couples at the beach. The butler service took a couple days to get used to, but once we did it was great. Andre and Javon were excellent! The entertainment staff, bartenders cleaning staff and everyone else were exceptional. Can’t wait to do it again!

We had a fantastic time! Chase and Neil were incredible. The resort is quiet and the French restaurant out of this world. Make sure to make your reservation at least a day before. If you want a soufflé for dessert you need to make sure to let your butler know 24 hours a head of time. Trust me the vanilla or chocolate soufflé is worth it. And the chef brings it out to the table. Definitely will be back.

staff was great!

This is a resort to go to reconnect or enjoy the company of your spouse. You will meet other couples while on the resort during you stay too. If you want to relax and unwind this is the resort to go to. This is not a resort for young couple who want to party all night.

The butler service is impeccable, they really pamper and cater to all your needs

Liked being able to use the other sandals properties, service and the food. Jamaican air conditioning is not to the same standard as in the USA. The sandals fishing excursion was terrible. They only wanted to collect our money and didn’t care if we caught fish, had a good time or where safe. Stay away from the fishing trip.

We loved the quiet and serene surroundings.The service was excellent and everyone from the bar tender ,servers ,entertainment,transportation and butlers were amazing. The resort is beautiful but what makes the experience outstanding were the people who work tirelessly at the resort to make you feel welcomed . We will surely be back at Sandals Plantation resort again.

The property is nice and in a secluded area. Most days we had the beach to ourselves and was able to find beach chairs without a problem. Its peaceful and relaxing by day, but by the time night time came around, it was far from peaceful. Between the noisy AC, the fan, and the orchestra of crickets that can heard throughout the entire property..most nights it took us a while to fall asleep. The rooms are outdated and the property only has 3 restaurants. Two of them require reservations for dinner which made no sense considering that the hotel was empty. The French restaurant had a nice ambiance and the service is great. Again, menu is limited. Breakfast is repetitive, it's the same thing on the menu everyday. In my opinion, the butler service is overrated. There is a lot of things I could have done myself without having to go through my butler. At most we saw our butler once a day. I did observe that a lot of other guest had their butlers around more often and constantly came to check up on them more frequently than us. Not sure why. The website mentions there is entertainment, themed nights, and a variety of water activities but all these things are at the property next door. If you are looking for something low-key this is the place for you but if you want something more lively and fun, keep searching.

This resort has a sense of intimacy as it is nestled in a quiet corner with scenery to die for. It only has 74 ocean view suites as opposed to the 500 in Ochi, which allows the staff to be more interactive and personal with you. This resort had guests of different age ranges, but in my opinion is suited for individuals who are looking to relax with their significant other rather than party We opted for the butler suite with an ocean view and was blown away by the service we received by our butler Duwainey. Our Anniversary trip was amazing Will Definitely return.

Only one thing good about the property were the staff and people who were working except for 1 of the 2 butlers that were assigned to us . The worst part is this is all inclusive and they say they have 5 Rest and some 15 rest next door at Sandal Ochi. More like Plantation only has 2 real rest in first place. There is absolutely no veg food in all the rest combined except for one Plant based dish. the food was horrible and even after checking in before we went i have let them know about my wife being vegetarian and it her being 40th birthday celebration. They didnt do anything to accommodate her Veg needs let alone doing special for the occasion. Let me put it that way that they did not know how to make grilled cheese. They gave us 2 piece of toast with a slice of cheese . Our butler who was present with us for 4 of 5 days was very arrogant and didnt fulfill any of our request nor would make reservations for us for any of the rest while we were there. 3 our of the 5 nights we had to eat out in the town it was such bad situation. Getting food at Sandals was itself a problem The rooms and other area as you would see are really dated and old. The toilet flush are not strong and work properly, the sink was clogging up and the towel hanger near the sink were coming of the wall. The room TV entertainment was horrible and not working at all. Box TV like quality. They keep saying they are renovating and working on making it better but i did not see any renovations.

This was the most amazing vacation, the service was top notch, our butlers were so sweet and accommodating, the entire staff was welcoming and friendly. The rooms and views were lavish and we loved the privacy and quiet. Anyone looking to be pampered on the beach with gorgeous views, this is your place!

Not only the butler (Bebeato and Marvin)service was excellent ,but all the staff were great .Couldn't have found a better place to celebrate our anniversary Resort does need to be updated .

Bathrooms a little old and dirty. Definitely need to close bathroom windows to outside as it is too hot in summer.

It has a friendly team of staff and due to its small size, the staff can sometimes recognize you. It has the added benefit of using all the amenties at Ocho Rios of Sandals literally next door which is much bigger, but less friendly. This resort is all butler service. There is a shuttle to go between two resorts and I have come to know that you can actually ask for shuttle outside the scheduled time which is not frequent.

Good experience overall

The property was beautiful, and the butlers Richard & Dwayne were amazing. We absolutely loved our stay and the staff overall was amazing. The only improvements would be to the busses that travel to the sister sites are rarely on schedule, and because the busses are only every hour or more sometimes, missing a bus is a big deal. We were late for dinner a couple of times because the busses either left early or did not show up. Our butler(s) were able to get is in to dinner late, but going to events off sight at sandals ochi was a bit challanging. More frequent bus routes to and from the beach club or hill side would be a big bonus. Also, hving a way to see the event itinerary of the sister sites would be great as well. Our favorit spot was the rabit hole (speak easy) we went there every night for dancing and live music!! A

Higy reccomend this Sandals Resort. Shout out to Andre ohr Butler, Garnett aka Crocodile, DJ Chris aka Wire, Ash, Trudy with a K, Treyvardo the startender.

I immediately felt at home on the plantation. It was intimate and we all felt like family. And yet, there were many things to do and enjoy so we were not bored. The advantage of being able to go to the Ochi property for added dining and entertainment was certainly a plus. Relax as much as you want or book an excursion to stay really active. Everyone is so attentive and ready to assist you for all that you need on your stay at Royal Plantation.

Some of the website pictures were a little deceiving as the beach is much smaller than I expected and the pool also. The pools seem to be a little old and needing upgrade. The great service made up for the few disappointments.

The resort was amazing and the views were awsome. These are all butler suites so the added service was great to. Highly recommended to anyone with a special event or just looking to get away.

Honeymoon hotel / Anniversary trip

We came to the hotel for our anniversary 10 years ago and decided to celebrate our 10th anniversary there. This have change drastically.... use to have Excellent service, now it's ok. Food use to be amazing... now aside from the Pavillion food is ok. Drinks use to come as soon as you have finished, now they have one server for the whole Beach. They say you have 24 hour butlers... well they just do several reservations and that's it. Takes 2 days to get your fridge stock... it's another Sandal hotel. Not anymore a small luxury hotel!

Great location but service still lacking

A return after 15 years and now part of Sandals. Room spacious and great view but bathrooms badly need updating. Food variable but main concern as often in Caribbean is the service from some staff which is inconsistent. Many still treat you as an inconvenience - e.g. Got reprimanded for walking on the sand after guy has raked it, transfer back to airport 35 mins late, butler highlighting the letter upon arrival saying the no tips policy had been removed for butlers. Others were warmer and more frienfly.

Wonderful beach

This was our first time trying an all inclusive. Generally we found the food fairly repetitive and basic which made us feel its just not worth the cost of going all inclusive. The cocktails on the beach were all very tasty and the thought of having as many as we liked brought to us was fun, but lacked the boozy kick that you look for in a cocktail (even when we asked for them to be strong). We also felt that because we went all inclusive, we weren't inclined to venture out and try some of the local restaurants - which is half the fun of travelling for us usually! The staff were friendly and helpful. Our butlers were lovely, however, we didn't really see the benefit beyond their assistance to book our place at some of the more popular restaurants. I can't help but feel the butler scheme is a bit of a marketing gimmick. However, it did seem other repeat customers really valued their relationships with their butlers, so perhaps its down to personal style and preference. The rooms, as others say were a bit tired and run down - especially the shower. The bed was very comfortable and we had a beautiful view of the ocean which made up for the room being dated. The beaches on the resort were stunning and the East beach really feels like your own private paradise. It was never too busy and you literally have a front row lounger on a stunning beach with lots of water sports at your disposal. It was a lovely holiday, I'm just not convinced it was worth the premium.

A very relaxing stay. Service levels very high provided by a great team at the Royal Plantation. Plenty of choice for eating on site, a small but very nice beach. Not a party hotel.

Not much butlering going on here for the price!

This property was our 10th Sandals stay and the 1st to this property. They have 2 very small beaches; one is smoking. Food is fantastic, the butler service is subpar. They just don't do anything for you here! You have to ask for anything that you want; no walks to dinner, no special flowers on your table, no funny towel art. The final night they set up some wild lights and music with champagne. It would have been great to have that effort throughout the week! The water here is very pretty but there is only 3 restaurants and 1 small swimming pool with hot tub. Note there is also many stairs down to the beach!

Great view, awesome room w/ view...but not 5-star!

For a 5-star all-inclusive, this resort has very limited food choices, that too for Jamaica. The only restaurant with reservations available was the buffet one (Terrace) and the food was okay. But, Buffet was obviously superb on Jamaica night. The French & Seafood ones were always reserved and the resort wasn't even fully occupied. We didn't spend $$$$ and go all this way to eat buffet and/or Dive-bar food. We were given options to reserve restaurants at the nearby Ocho Rios Sandals and guess what? That was full booked too. Plus the hassle of taking a transport (every 2 hours) to get there and back. We used the butler service ONLY for restaurant reservations & it was totally useless. Didn't buy into the hype one bit. Towards the end, the butler called us to make sure we were around & as a mere courtesy call. Very disappointed for a 5-star. If not for the spectacular views & water activities, this qualifies as a 3-star at best.

Friendly staff,very accommodating, great atmosphere

Very High Class Service

When we arrived we was greated by the hotel staff with a cooling towel and a glass of champagne. Our bags was taken to our suite, as our butler Hector introduced himself to us, and preceded to escort us around the beautiful property and then to our room. They treated us like royalty and the memories will forever be in our hearts.

Great all inclusive resort

Everything about this resort was excellent. Royals Plantation is a bit more expensive but it's well worth it. You get to travel to all of the Sandals resorts via shuttle buses while the other guest can't come to the Royals Plantation. So you get the best of both worlds peace and quiet and the party scene of the Ochi Beach Sandals resorts. By the way if you stay at the Royals Plantations you can eat and drink at all of the Sandals resorts!

We enjoyed every minute of our stay at Royal Plantation!

This may have ruined all future beach holidays

I made an excellent choice with Royal Plantation - with only 74 rooms there were never crowds anywhere or queues for buffet - it was fully booked and we still felt almost like we had the place to ourselves. Staff couldn't have been more helpful. Plenty to do in the area. Food was excellent in every restaurant on the property. Felt so spoiled and now worried I may never be able to find another beach holiday resort with as much room to breathe...
