Pictures really don't do the hotel justice for the queen + double bed room. Very clean and comfortable. Walking distance to bars and restaurants. San Ignacio is hilly, so keep that in mind for your walking, but great exercise. - Staff was great - Close (driving) to multiple cultural and natural sight seeing/experiences - Easy parking on site
We stayed at the San Ignacio Resort Hotel for two nights and had such a great experience! Not only is the property beautiful (swimming pool, patios, tennis court & walking trails) but the room was so clean and well-appointed. We slept so well every night! The restaurant was fantastic - we usually like to go to local places but the food was so good that we ate breakfast both days and dinner one evening there. Beyond everything else, the staff was so kind and courteous. Special shout outs to Ozzie who helped us prepare for our ATM Cave tour and Elito who was a pleasure to chat with in the restaurant. We would highly recommend this property!
Very helpful staff. Great old school attitude. Perfect location for all the Cayo activities. Easy walk to the main drag without all the noise. Restaurant food and service was great. Bird watching in their preserve was fun and Jason is very knowledgeable. Highly recommend.
very pleasant atmosphere, staff were terrific and food was very good
Beautiful property, friendly attentive staff. Ate every meal at the restaurant- all very good. Would recommend!
We only stayed a night and had to leave early due to an emergency. Staff was friendly, pool was nice enough and kids had fun with the pool toys provided. Food was ok as well. The view from our room was beautiful and really felt immersed in the jungle while inside the hotel with Toucan’s and iguanas sighted our first day. Good location to get to all the intown activities. The immediate vicinity outside the back of the room had a lot of trash and construction also happening which was distracting to the beauty. The day we left there was literally debris falling down in front of our door as they worked on an addition or remodeling next to/above our room. Was also extremely loud due to the construction which made naps for kids hard. I think if staying in San Ignacio this would still have been an OK choice but way overpriced and not good value for the money.
The checking process was the most pleasant due to customer service agent was rude. However, the other front desk agent Christopher was ver friendly and very helpful. I paid about $700US for two bedrooms suite a night. I personally don’t think this hotel is worth the price. The carpet in the hotel is worn out and needs cleaning. The throw pillows and rugs in our rooms were very dusty. The hot tub on the balcony was dirt. The hotel it needs some repair and upkeep to charge this price for a room. On a positive note, the restaurant was best food I tasted in Belize. I traveled to 4 districts in Belize on this trip and I highly recommend this restaurant. All of the food were delicious, I told the restaurant manager to make sure to keep that cook because the restaurant is part of the hotel.
The resort was really nice, staff were wonderful. We loved the green iguana conservation project! Location was close, and walkable to town. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again if in the area.
My sister and I loved our stay here! The restaurant is great, the staff is so helpful getting excursions booked, and the iguana project is wonderful. The photos do not do this place justice. Sitting by the pool as the sun began to go down and all the lights were on was simply beautiful! The hotel is on a big hill, so while I did do a lot of walking because town is very close - that may not be for everyone!
The Resort was lovely. Jungle atmosphere, variety or birds and monkeys in the trees around the property. Fantastic room, staff friendly and helpful with events, restaurant delicious and pool serene. Great bar.
I and my husband stayed for 3 nights at the hotel and we loved it! Our room was comfortable and the garden view is beautiful. The staff is very friendly. We loved the iguana project.
Just stay here. You’ll be very glad you did.
Great food and beautiful surroundings
We loved the San Ignacio Resort Hotel. It was truly as they said – like staying in a jungle right in the city. Everything was extremely clean, the staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the room was very comfortable. We had several meals at the hotel which were very good and the restaurant was relaxing.
The property itself is really nice, and a bargain for the price. It is quiet and lovely with a wonderful staff. The beach is nice and they work hard to keep it clean.
Beautiful hotel with many tons of stuff to doStaff was excellent and restaurant is amazing
Excellent staff, pool and restaurant. The Iguana Project and Tikal day trip were fantastic. There are lots of spaces at the hotel to sit and relax. Great start to our vacation!
Everything was AWESOME!!!
Clean
You won't find friendlier, most personalized hospitality anywhere. The staff were all smiles and seemed genuinely happy to be of service. John in particular was very helpful as concierge and booked shuttles for us to other destinations. The guides for activities arranged through the resort were top notch. Rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable, the pool was nice (and quiet), and the dining was excellent. The Green Iguana project is worth visiting whether you stay at the resort or not. Highly recommended for your jungle adventure portion of your Belize trip!
Hotel staff was awesome and very helpful when we had questions about the local area. The tours we did through the hotel were well run and the guides provided a lot of history and background on our events
A very elegant, immaculately maintained and furnished property. Exceptional gourmet food and artisan style cocktails that were perfectly mixed. I don't know that there is a finer resort on mainland Belize.
Great staff, beautiful property!!! Close to town
Lovely property with friendly staff. The food in the restaurant was very good. Our room was clean and comfortable.
The customer service was out of this world. We were well cared for and felt like they could help us with any question or request.
The staff was amazing. The room (regal suite) was so beautiful. The beds were comfortable. Housekeeping did a wonderful job each day. Helpful concierge. The jungle from the patio restaurant and pool deck was breathtaking. This hotel is very special.
Amazing property, clean room, great food. The staff there knew our names and provided 5 star service. Ashti was incredibly helpful, and Elito was the best…he befriended our 7 and 8 year olds, and was absolutely awesome. Can’t recommend this hotel enough.
Second time staying here. Great place, nice pool and grounds, restaurant and bar
The restaurant has a lot of options for things to do such as visit the iguana habitat, bird watching, night hike. The food in the restaurant could use improvement, the steak was tough and the potatoes were like cardboard. There was a good wine selection.
The property includes an iguana preserve, bird watching, and medicinal plants on top of it great facility
Great place to stay. Beautiful location and friendly staff
Ok
The property is excellent and well maintained! Very clean and the staff are all friendly and helpful!! We loved the restaurant and will miss the conch and octopus ceviche!! Honestly, if can have a longer stay, we would! The concierge was superb and service was just top notch in everything!! Definitely highly recommend this hotel!!
The property was excellent and very friendly staff. I would return again. Excellent value
My boyfriend and I stayed 2 nights. Loved the resort and staff. Staff were attentive and helpful. Plenty of tours available through the front desk but they don’t push only those options on you. We booked ATM cave with them and it was fantastic. We enjoyed visiting the iguana conservatory as well. They arranged a taxi for us to see some of the Mayan ruins. Room was nice. Pool area was pleasant. The food at the resort was where we ate best the entire time we were in Belize. Extremely impressed by the food and cocktails. Would happily return to this resort if/when returning to Belize.
Amazing! Great hotel and staff, extremely polite and helpful, excellent service from each staff member, great restaurant and pool area for relaxing. Highly recommend this hotel when visiting the area. 5 stars!
Service was incredible. Great food at the restaurant. Would 100% recommend.
This place was our introduction to Belize. The hotel is a gem situated on a hillside above San Ignacio. The rooms were clean. The staff were lovely and willing to solve any questions you may have. the restaurant food is top notch and pricing is really reasonable. I will come back here again. Truly kicked off our trip in Belize.
Highly Recommend the San Ignacio Resort Hotel
Excellent staff and beautiful hotel. The on-site restaurant was fantastic. Easy parking and great location. We thought it was one of the best hotels we’ve experienced and we travel often.
The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting here.
Excellent!
Management was very inflexible. Rest of staff was great.
Nice hotel in a beautiful location with great pool, restaurant with view and close to town. We had a great experience and relaxing time. The only thing, we found a scorpion in our room by accident, trapped him and had staff kill it and dispose off. Wish they were more diligent cleaning and making sure rooms are free of scorpions. Also, the Iguana Conservancy Project should be free for guests, it is a very basic tour and facility, nothing extraordinary. Staff was very friendly.
Food was good hotel room was nice and clean. Hotel is 1 hr and 40 mins from belize city. I feel Everything is too far from here. Casino is next door but i really didn't enjoy it not much variety of machines.
Property was beautiful, especially to see different types of birds
Very comfortable bed. On site restaurant had many good options. Iguana tour located on site.
Nice place in a great location!
Excellent caring staff who were always helpful and professional.
Nice hotel very near to downtown ( though on a a pretty steep hill). Great staff, nice restaurant, and the king room was great with nice balcony.
Beautiful
the staff was pleasant, food was good, property cleaned and well maintained
Ioved the green iguana tour and the nightime animal tour
Excellent
Comfortable and clean room. Excellent menu. I really appreciate the no contact ordering.Outdoor area is a pleasant atmosphere for evening dining.
Not my style. To formal. Price was good, service excellent.
Beautiful place
It was a very nice place. Everyone was very friendly. The restaurant was just okay. Service was slow. Meat was overdone. We only stayed one night wish we could have stayed longer and enjoyed all of the amenities.
The hotel backs onto the jungle. The view from the restaurant patio is very nice. We enjoyed watching the variety of birds and iguanas from the patio and from the balcony of our room. The room was well equiped and clean. The service from all hotel staff was amazing! The best we've experienced while on vacation
The staff is always amazing, its a beautiful place to stay. We were able to have breakfast while toucans were in the trees above us. This was my second visit to the resort.
We had a great time. Great Location. Short walk to Downtown & Farmer's Market. Iguana Project and Bird Watch is a must do. We did them our last morning. We would recommend you do the Bird watch as soon as you can. We did not realize how many birds, especially so many Toucans hung out in the palm tree by the pool. The tour guides/naturalists were very knowledgeable. Room was spacious and comfortable. Enjoyed relaxing in the hammock on our balcony. Nice little Casino right next door!!! This was our first trip to San Ignacio/Belize and when we decide to return to Belize, the San Ignacio Resort will be our place to stay...
Beautiful, clean, looks brand new everywhere you look, staff is incredibly accommodating, food is incredible and everyone takes pride in what they do and the resort itself. Absolutely will stay here again!
Customer service was top notch. Several little treats to make it special.
Loved it!
The front desk were amazing, very professional and friendly. I loved this hotel and would go back. The room was modern and clean. The food options were plentiful and the food in the cafe smelled delicious. I wish that I'd had time to eat there. Unfortunately it's far from the downtown but near the airport.
Clean, comfortable hotel with accommodating staff and good service. Beautiful deck area for enjoying your meals. Top notch resort in San Ignacio.
Wonderful experience
This resort has a goal of exceeding our expectations and they did just that. The rooms were clean, they always made sure we were comfortable, and got to know us at the restaurant. Everyone was willing to answer questions and giving advice for our travel plans. The grounds were really nice and they have a wide variety of relaxing activities to do. They are also really close to nearby ruins and Guatemala to see Tikal, which we did. I would definitely book this place again.
Everything was perfect! Staff was friendly and helpful, all the tours we booked through them were great. Very comfortable stay and the restaurant was excellent. Would highly recommend.
Rooms are small and needs updating, but has a small town quaintness about it.
Pros: Walking distance to San Ignacio. Cons: No elevator.
Property is located on the hill just off downtown. The trees around the property were filled with birds and wildlife making it very interesting every day. The food and cheff were excellent. The staff was very friendly all the time and was willing to help in any way including suggesting places to visit. There was nothing I did not like about the property.
really nice place to stay. Everybody wants to help
That was the most amazing resort I have ever stayed at. It truly was a piece of paradise. Believe me I am bragging on the San Ignacio Resort. Think I will spend more time in San Ignacio the next time I visit Belize.
The food is fantastic along with everything! Very friendly
Sweet treat in the evening when turning down the beds was a nice touch! The hotel backs up to the jungle so there's fantastic bird watching in the early morning hours.
Beautiful hotel, comfortable beds and very friendly staff. Cleanliness was not up to normal hotel standards.
Everything was very good. Food was delicious and staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely como back
The property is beautiful and everyone is so friendly and accommodating.
Amazing stay. Beautiful hotel. Service was perfect
top notch facility. service was impeccable (attention to detail). food pricey but amazing. close to everything. rooms a little bit small. Had a great last minute tour of ATM cave arranged by hotel but check around tour prices in town bc I think we paid about $40/ea more (but convenient to book at hotel).
The staff was excellent. They focus on customer service and they really know how to treat a guest. Building was clean and comfortable. Food was great. Onil, Elito, Giovanni, Javier among others gave us excellent service. The hotel is a short walk to town where we ate at other local restaurants. The shuttles to and from the airport where convenient and the drivers always nice and informative. The tour guides, Jimmy, Eddy and Jason were excellent and very knowledgeable. Big Thumbs up from our family.
Great location, friendly and helpful staff, and comfortable clean rooms.
The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They do their own private tours which was really nice. Excellent service.
Great staff. Beautiful layout. Nice location on small hill above the town at edge of rainforest. We were booked on,lower level which has lots of stairs and currently some construction noise from renovation. Restaurant on site quite good. Booked some tours through concierge. Ask for Eddie Pinto for a guide. He was raised in area, has great stories and is extremely knowledgeable
We liked the jungle setting. We booked late, so we didn't have a room with a view.
OK but not great
Fine hotel...vastly overpriced for what it is...very poor ability to organize local tours for someone travelling independently. Had to hike down into town several times to organize my stay with other service providers...would not have expected that a Hotel like this could not really assist except by their own pricey transport which was unavailable. I booked a balcony room with a river view which looked out on...the roof of the pool building. Fan in my room did not work...no explanation why. The River is inaccessible except via a paid iguana tour. Friendly staff. Good restaurant.
The property was well maintained and the staff was extremely courteous and welcoming. The rooms could do with an update to make it more modern and an actual spa space (as opposed to using an empty room) as well as onsite gym would also help modernize this property. Overall it was a nice place to stay and its proximity to town made exploring different food options easy, as long as you were willing to make the hike back up the steep hill to get back!
Good Stay, would stay again.
Nice property just on the outskirts of town center; close enough to walk if you need to, and central for pickups for tours. Room was clean, comfortable, lovely jungle-side setting with toucans and other tropical birds to catch in the a.m. Staff very friendly, and property has on-site bird watching and iguana conservation tours (at cost), which are charming and easy and good extra activities after / pre larger tour activity. Restaurant is good, although the menu read is better than actual execution. Cahal Pech resort is nearby, and probably similar - a bit better restaurant on-site, but San Ignacio Resort has the edge due to proximity to town.
Belize Navidad
the St Ignacio was perfect and centrally located to our excursions. They helped us set them up. We loved the Iguana preserve, the pool and the tennis courts. The room was huge and very comfortable. the dining service was excellent, the food was ok, was over priced. the staff was very hospitable.
Everyone at this property were welcoming and thoughtful. We arrived a day late, thinking we would miss one of our planned tours. The staff at San Ignacio made sure we could enjoy both our tours. They took care of us as though we were family. I highly recommend this place.
The hotel staff were informative, friendly and excellent. The concierge arranged our tours and transportation which were excellent. If you stay here and take some tours- request Cruz or Ted as guides. They are superb and the tour of Tikal in Guatemala is well worth the cost.
The staff were all very friendly, most especially the front desk girls. It sits on top of the hill so when walking onto town it’s a nice downhill stroll but a good workout going back up.
Great hotel with wonderful staff. We stayed here and set up a tour to Tikal through the hotel. Everything was perfect - the hotel took great care of us, and the tour to Tikal was amazing!
This is a wonderful property. The service, food and hospitality are exceptional. The beds comfortable, room spacious and very clean. Loved the pool and ignauna exhibit! Bonuses! They leave you a treat each night, how nice is that?! Definitely will return and highly recommend.
Great experience
Wonderful and accommodating staff, beautiful hotel. Would stay again.
The staff was beyond amazing and over the top helpful! Always there 24/7 to answer any questions or to assist with any requests. Check in was not only fast and easy, we were also greeted with a complimentary drink. Housekeeping was the best and we loved the daily treats they left for us in our fridge. We even had our laundry done before we left, what a treat it was to come home with clean clothes! The restaurant was our favorite. We ended up eating dinner there every night. The food was absolutely delicious! The waitstaff was top notch. Elmor was super and shared a little history of Belize and gave us some fun ideas for our stay. We got to see the toucans right outside our window on our last morning, beautiful! Thanks to all at San Ignacio Resort, we will definitely be back!!!
Immaculate service. Good central location and well organised tours. Great food too.
The hotel workers are all nice and respectful. They have their time to explain whatever inquiries you have. I really like the fact that they are always smiling. No ever seemed to have an attitude . The tv in the room had all American movies, it actually had better movies than I have and I have way more channels lol. But it was a good stay, I love the fact the town is not to far from the hotel.
Great location and staff was superb, only issue was the extra firm bed.
Lovely Hotel in San Ignacio
San Ignacio Resort Hotel is a beautiful property that’s just a short walk from the center of town. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Opportunities for improvement: The tennis court really needs to be updated and the pool definitely needed to be thoroughly cleaned. I still recommend this hotel, however.
The staff couldn't have been any nicer. The food was amazing. And, the resort itself was beatifully maintained. We couldn't have been any more pleased with our stay.
Excellent staff!! Make you feel welcome and are happy to help with questions and requests. Very clean rooms. Highly recommend if staying in San ignacio
Nice hotel near lots of great things to see but decor and facilities are a bit worn and dated
Our stay at San Ignacio Resort Hotel
This hotel was amazing to stay at. It was very clean and very comfortable. The staff was extremely friendly and always accommodating. Every time we entered or left the hotel, the front desk staff greeted us. The balcony with the hammock was a big added bonus for us and the pool was great to hangout at during on of our down days. The Iguana Conservation Project is right on sight and is a must-do in my opinion. It was a short but fun tour. The only downside was the Wi-Fi was spotty at night when we were trying to use it and there were times in San Ignacio when we were very careful about where we went. Also there is a huge hill that you have to walk/drive up in order to get to the hotel. I would definitely contact the hotel about accommodations if you are traveling with someone who is disabled or handicapped. Other than that, we had an amazing stay and I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.
