We stayed in the villa at the top of the property . Bar across the road plays hard rock until 11pm most nights, it’s like sleeping next to a speaker very loud, The cafe in the morning starts prepping around 6am ..but if your ok with this then it’s a great place to stay or stay in one of the villas past the pool a lot qieter

AWESOME STAY!

From the moment I arrived that evening I was in paradise! The walk to reception itself at night is spectacular! Very professional check in and staff was outstanding and accommodating. I enjoyed the beauty of the surrounding as step like a baby! I have already tried to book again but they were sold out. I will definitely return!

We loved staying in this villa. It was huge and had direct street access, which we enjoyed. A beautiful place to stay.

Our stay at Sama's Cottages & Villas was truly relaxing. We stayed in one of the spacious villas, surrounded by lush greenery that created a peaceful, therapeutic atmosphere. The villa itself was beautifully designed, offering both comfort and privacy. The nature-filled surroundings provided a serene escape, perfect for unwinding. The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. While there’s no beach nearby, the tranquil setting and proximity to local attractions made it a fantastic place to stay. We’ll definitely be back for another peaceful retreat!

Excellent service throughout our stay - from the airport pickup, staff interactions through to our departure! Sama’s is a tranquil oasis in bustling Ubud. Very pleased with our 4-night stay!

We loved this property nestled in the heart of Ubud. Close to shopping and many restaurants. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The morning breakfast served on our private patio was a wonderful start to the day. We will return.

A wonderful oasis near the centre but hidden in a beautiful garden so there was a calm and relaxing atmosphere. Restaurants bars, shops even A glutenfree cafe a few steps away

Please note that the fan cooled room is 20 m2, not the 45 m2 listed here. The fan cooled room smells mouldy. I cancelled my booking after seeing the room. The staffs were not responsive initially when I told them about the issues. They said that they didn’t put the description of 45m2 online, it was the owner, so it’s not their problem. Expedia Australia is so hard to reach in Indonesia. But at the end I got my refund. It’s been several weeks since my cancellation and they still haven’t changed the description, so I just wanted to leave this review to remind others.

Traditional stay

Beautiful cottages in the heart of Ubud. Quiet. Position is fantastic for shopping and lovely restaurants. Staff here were helpful and lovely. I cannot fault this beautiful balinese haven. Breakfast was delivered to the room every morning at a time to suit. Beds are very firm. Water machine in room for cold water and to fill your kettle. The pool was lovely. Restaurant is not on the premises but a very short walk. This was a delightful place to stay in Ubud.

The Gardens and Villas were beautifully, staff were friendly and always accomadating. The location was perfect with a balance of very good dining options and entertainment.

This property was so well located, we were in the heart of Ubud and there were so many bars, restaurants and shops within walking distance. The staff were lovely and having the restaurant next door that’s affiliated with the hotel was so helpful!

Had a great stay at centre. In walking distance to central abud. Staff very helpful. Nice pool area which was geat for our 2 boys to cool off in the muddle of the day. Good location to head further afield on tours if needed.

The place is really good and very close to ubud place. Stuff was really friendly and nice.

Loved our stay here in the big villa! They set up 2 twin beds for our kids. Large, comfortable, AC and WiFi worked well. Kitchen with very basic amenities was convenient. Superb breakfast included, you select your choices the night before and they deliver to your room. Fantastic location near the main part of town near many great restaurants and shops. Staff was wonderful. Grounds are beautiful. Kids loved the pool area. Enjoyed some spa services up in the tower! Totally recommend this place!

Good location for centre Ubud

I really enjoyed my recent stay at Sama’s cottages Pros Patio with table chairs Lovely gardens Pool is sunny but chairs are also shaded / sunny so you don’t feel like you are baking in the sun Staff very pleasant especially Koyo who looked after me and has worked there many years Air con good close to centre Ubud so great for walking Very convenient location Good choice and of local eateries No plastic bottles used for water Wifi was good Quiet Cons No later checkout Basic yet nice breakfast choices Small loud fridge The towels look and feel 10 years old

A comfortable and clean villa in the heart of Ubud. 5 minutes walk to the Royal Palace!

Our family of four had a relaxing time inside the property. The service and food was great, the pool and room was very clean and the people were friendly. The street Sama’s is on, is more relaxed than just down the road where traffic is heavy. Would stay again. Good value for the price.

Fantastic spot and great value for the price! Nice and quiet but in a great area of Ubud. Pool is quite nice too!

Great setup for lots of people, however the music at night was loud! The owner did email us about the noise to let us know but it was very loud. Live band across the road every night until 11pm. Pool was cold due to lack of sun but plenty of room for large family

Our stay on April/2024

Satisfactory stay, here are key points. Resort's Staff : extremely polite and helpful. Resorts location : very convenient. Breakfast : not so good but plenty of food options around, just few meters away. Lush green property hence mosquitos are around but the hotel staff everything possible to keep them away. Internet was an issue, not good coverage in the rooms which are located at some distance from the reception area. Overall, satisfactory experience, full marks to the hotel staff.

Fabulous and comfy cottages

We loved Samas cottages. The room was beautiful and a good size for a family of 4 (kids are 8 and 10). Breakfast on the front patio was a favourite for us all, a wonderful way to start our day. The staff were super helpful and the on-site massage wonderful. We loved the location, just a quick walk to major tourist attractions but loved hanging out on the street the cottages are on. Great restaurants and a lovely vibe. Couldn’t rate it higher

Great location but cottages are a walk back from the hustle and bustle so quiet and romantic. Breakfast served on your patio was a bonus. Mosquito nets and mosquito coils provided which was clutch during rainy season. Central to everything but still private.

Loved staying here. Staff were excellent. Beautiful breakfast served to your balcony every morning. Grounds were always clean. Pool was private and great. Bathroom was brand new. Staff would stop to visit with us when we were on our balcony. So ffriendly. Our favorite place to stay so far! Restaurants and shopping close by. There was a place to park for our tour guides.

Very peaceful place to stay

Cottage was wonderful in the rainforest with 100s of birds and some monkeys. Nice pool and great breakfast served on our balcony

When we arrived to pay at the property the price was more than the booking price on line. We certainly were not impressed by this . Get it right Expedia.

Our stay here was fantastic! The staff and service were amazing! We highly recommend this hotel!

Loved the place. Only issue would be to limit guest use of high voltage appliances since it would cause the breaker to flip. Beatiful and quiet but close to everything.

Peaceful retreat from the bustle of Ubud

This is a fabulous little villa with pool secluded behind vegetation off a busy street. Terraced so it is quiet and private. Staff are so gracious and the location is fabulous for walking to the sights, the art market and restaurants. Easy access to the walks to the little local rice fields and cafes. Thanks Sama’s my daughters and I loved our stay!

Had a comfortable week’s stay at the Ayu Villa, just next to the reception and pool. While it was convenient, noise was a problem especially from the restaurant next door that played rock and roll music till around 10.30 every night! The staff are pretty friendly and Mega at the reception in particular was exceptional. She helped me plan my entire stay which included booking transport, dinner reservations and side trips to Tanah lot etc.

The hotel was beyond beautiful and we just loved the friendly staff. They directed us to nearby sights we would never have discovered. Breakfast was delicious and plenty of food.

The staff were super helpful, the accommodations beautiful and comfortable, we couldn't have been happier especially because it was near to the sights we wanted to visit.

Great stay

Lovely helpful staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Cleaned room very well each day. They are trying to reduce plastic waste (something not very common in Bali yet) so they have glass water bottles and you can re-fill your reusable water bottle from their supply for a small charge. Lovely choice of breakfast cooked to order each day, just select what you want and what time the day before.

it is conveniently located near the city center. Clean property and friendly staff. Not enough power outlets in the room. One or two more would be enough so one doesn't have to unplug the fridge to plug the fan.

Great location just on the edge of town. Lovely room set in pretty gardens. Several places to eat and drink within 2 minutes.
