Beautiful rooms at this property. Great location!
Great Private Space in the Heart of Rome
The room we stayed in was nice and spacious. We were on the "1st" floor (2nd for those in the US) and it was nice, clean, and felt very secure. Rosa was very accommodating and made check-in and check-out a breeze! I recommend this place & their sister hotel Galatea as they are nice, clean units in the heart of Rome!
Honestly I would look elsewhere. We booked this place because we wanted a hotel not an Airbnb for our stay in Rome. But this was basically a bad Airbnb with a front desk. The apartment was dirty and in poor condition. The faucet in the kitchen wasn’t even secure, and wobbled all over the place when trying to get water. I can’t even imagine trying to cook a meal in the so-called kitchen. The tiles on the walls surrounding the sink in the bathroom were filthy and didn’t look like they even get wiped when the room is cleaned. The shower was dark and dingy with mold and hard water buildup. And finally, the room had a sofa bed for the kids instead of the two singles listed in our booking. The only things this place had going for it was location which was good, the staff were very nice and friendly, and the optional breakfast was decent enough for us as we were at the end of a long trip and appreciated not having to go out looking for breakfast.
Property was a bit run down but otherwise ok
Was only here one night but would have loved to be here longer. Great experience in a lovely hotel space!
Hotel is in perfect location within walking distance of most sights! Plenty of restaurants and cafes in the area. Hotel is clean and staff are very friendly and helpful, will definitely book this hotel again when I return to Rome!
Good location. Good price. My queen bed was 2 full beds pushed together. It was so uncomfortable. Tv channels no good English options and spotty connection. It’s more of an apartment building, so loud noises all the time with pipes, doors slamming, outside noise. Wasn’t very peaceful. No way to hang my do not disturb sign and got disturbed at times. Shower was way too small for me as I am a bigger person. Staff was nice and friendly. I did love the feel of being in Italy in an apartment vs hotel room. Having a fridge with freezer and stove was very nice for my week there. Overall it was a good stay but wouldn’t book again because of the bed and the noise.
Very beautifully styled rooms, and great staff!
Spacious apartment within walking distance of Roman sites
The front ladied were suoer friendly. The location was conveniently located so that all the tourist spots were within walking distance to the hotel.
This was an amazing location close to the Colosseum. The room was clean and beds were comfortable. We would definitely stay again.
The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel’s location is excellent, although it’s a little hard to find. We walked to nearly all the major attractions, and you can also take a few steps to access nearby buses. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend it to anyone interested.
Staff was excellent and helpful, very kind. The bonus bottle of sparkling wine due to Expedia status was not only appreciated, it was really good! We did not opt for the breakfast but it looked amazing. Only minor complaint - the signage for the hotel is near non-existent so it's hard to find, and its kind of just a random door. But, great little room. Would return. :)
We had an amazing time. Situated close to most touristic attractions. Our room was clean. Comfy bed. Sound proof. All the employees were really helpful and kind. Friendly front desk. Special thanks to Lorenzo for making breakfasts enjoyable!
Great stay. Highly recommend
Good location and great staff
No complaints what so ever! Staff were wonderful! Breakfast was great! Helped us greatly with our online check-in with the airline. We couldn’t have been more happy!
Salotto Monti is conveniently located to most of the tourist activities in Central Rome. It is a fairly easy walk to everything. The staff was very friendly and prompt. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay
There were stairs in and out of the room, and a step into the bathroom, which was awkward at night. There was a heavy perfume odor in the room that made us sneeze. The boiler was out of service so we had no hot water at night until it was fixed, which resulted in staff coming into our room at bed time. The breakfast started too late for us to receive it. The entry off the street was confusing and dark, with no hotel presence at street level.
This hotel is wonderful right in the heart of Rome 10 minutes walking to the colosseum the staff is friendly and welcoming! This is a hotel I will be delighted to stay at the next time we visit Rome! Private rooftop terrace is wonderful 5 stars!!
Very close to everything you want to see in Rome.
Good hotel in a nice location
Nice hotel and location once we found it. Clean room and comfortable The hotel didnt receive our message about our check in time so we had no idea where to go. No signage whatsoever outside the building- only inside
Great place to stay close by restaurants and bars, convenience stores, and of course the coliseum and Roman forum! We really enjoyed our stay and the breakfast was really nice. The rooms were very nice and the beds were great!! Although it was possible to hear talking from the hallway via the room door. The staff were very friendly!! We were able to store our luggage before check in which was very handy. Only suggestion would be to make the door to the hotel a bit more clear! You’d only know where it is by looking at Google maps. Standing in front of it, it’s not obvious that you’re at the correct door. Also please include in the check-in instructions that you might have to use the buzzer to have the door unlocked, and also which floor the hotel is on. Thank you!!!
The court yard and breakfast were great
Great experience!
This hotel was not as good as we expected. We paid well enough for the nights we were there and it just wasn’t up to basic standard in my opinion. The room wasn’t cleaned properly, the floors were not vacuumed or swept once over our stay, our sheets were never changed and the shower was never cleaned for our stay there as well. I find these cleaning standards to be quite normal in all hotels so was disappointed to see this. Location of the hotel was fanatic super central and safe. The security of the hotel was also safe and sound. Unfortunately another negative was that the rooms were NOT sound proof. We could hear everything which is fine however we found that we were often woken up in early hours if the morning from the noise outside our room for either staff or guests.
Great stay, perfect location for exploring Rome! Included breakfast was good and our room was spacious and comfortable.
Very nice, small hotel located within walking distance of several of Romes main attractions. Coliseum was literally, turn right out hotel door and straight down the road, (15mims) max. Trevi fountain was left up the road and about 15mims too. Good variety of restaurants and bars nearby away from the major tourist areas. Could ask for more, and reasonably price too.
This hotel was a great way to end our trip. It was very spacious, comfortable and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We would love to stay here again; highly recommend.
Breakfast on terrace was very nice
Excellent vacation stay for three nights
Great staff. Made our stay in Rome enjoyable
The location was walkable to many sights, dining options, the train station, and grocery stores. It had a kitchenette and plenty of space for a family of four. The staff at the front desk was incredible and we took advantage of one of the free nightly tours offered.
Hotel was centrally located few blocks from the Trevi Fountain, and the Colluseum etc... shopping and reataurants close by and staff made sure everything was good. Real authentic experience. Great place.
Great spot next to all the sights. When dropped off, you need to dial the front desk through the outside call box. Breakfast is served on the terrace, and is delicious. Our unit was an entire apartment with a kitchen, and we had a ton of space to ourselves. Staff is friendly, and in 15 minutes walk you can get to Colosseo, Spanish Steps, or Trevi fountain. Building is full of character, there’s a mini market downstairs.
Excelente ubicado para ir caminando a todas partes, el personal súper amigable
Very friendly and helpful staff
The staff is amazing, Rosa was very helpful and went above and beyond. She helped us with booking train tickets, recommended restaurants in Rome. Georgia was there for us every morning with breakfast and even when we left earlier when usual she packed a king size breakfast for us to go. The hotel also offers free walking tours with Virgilio who showed us everything with an walking distance ( which is the entire city) and gave us the history of locations visited in English and Spanish. Thank you Salotto Monti staff for making our stay a wonderful experience! Next time in Rome and highly recommend it to all our friends visiting Rome.
Great location!!!
Rosa at reception was so welcoming and gave great recommendations. They welcomed us on the roof terrace with a glass of wine. The apt was spacious and clean. Excellent location to walk everywhere. Grocery store nearby and some excellent restaurants close. The Gelatist down the street had THE best gelato in town!!!
Staff (Rosa) was so helpful and friendly. We loved the breakfast buffet on the rooftop terrace. The property is in a great location for seeing the main Rome sites.
Rosa Joanna and Georgia were excellent. Hotel in a great location. Had a good sleep. Breakfast in the terrace garden was welcoming.
Nice stay for our short trip to Rome. We were very comfortable and everything we wanted to see was within walking distance. Staff were very friendly and helpful!
The staff was friendly, helpful and went out of their way to assist us in acclimating. The room was lovely, spacious, they even had a bottle of wine waiting. Fedelica, Rode and Giolpia were so kind providing tips and directional help. Loved our stay.
Very nice, clean
Staff were all very helpful, always pleasant and they wanted to make our visit comfortable
Excellent service from the staff in terms of helping arrange travel plans. Very cute place. Large room, especially for a European hotel. Adequate breakfast with a "to go" bag full of treats for an early AM departure. Highly recommended. Convenient to main attractions, restaurants and transportation.
Great
Excellent hotel in Rome
The room was very clean and comfortable. the staff was very friendly and very helpful with tips around Rome and for our next destination in Naples. My only complaint is that the hotel claims to have parking on their profile but they simply direct you to a paid lot 15 min away thats 30-40 euros a night. they have no special relationship /discount with the lot. i would have chosen differently had i known in advance.
Liked the location. Close to everything in Rome including clothing stores, restaurants, metro, and ruins. Our room was on a main road and heard sirens all night but earplugs helped with that. Comfortable beds, nice staff, elevator.
3 nights Stay
Superior Room was huge and neat. Hotel staffs were very friendly and helpful. Must try out that Vintage Otis lift that will take you to level 3 , LOBBY. Wide Spread Continantel Buffet breakfast @7 Euro was fantastic. Walking distance to most places of interest in Rome. Only thing, no sign outside that big wooden Door.
Beds were lovely and comfortable with large shower. Noisy at night internally and from outside. Towell rail extremely hot and could not be turned down. Had to sit outside for breakfast where not as warm and no space inside, breakfast ran out two out of three mornings.
We booked this hotel for a short trip and wanted somewhere central. The hotel itself is walkable (20 minutes) from the train station which was convenient and 15 minutes to the colosseum and trevi fountain, so the location is excellent for this. The building itself is old and has an elevator to the hotel on floor 3 which is fine and it’s fairly easy to locate. The staff were welcoming and friendly, they let us check in early because our room was ready and stored our suitcases so we could explore on the final day after checkout time which was helpful. The main downside of this hotel is the noise, wow the noise. We had the small double which looked out onto the main road/side road which we accepted would be noisy in central Rome but the internal noise is something else. There is a big door separating rooms from reception which doesn’t seem to be used. The doors to the rooms are very thin so you can hear everything going on outside. If you’re a heavy sleeper you might just cope. The breakfast is nice, basic but nice. The terrace outside is lovely. We did ask for a recommendation for dinner one night and were given a business card for a restaurant which the lady said was very nice and she’d tried herself. When we looked on their website we saw that they were owned by the same chain as the hotel. We didn’t go, we wanted a genuine recommendation. Overall, wouldn’t stay again but fine for a short trip. Lady on checkout wasn’t surprised when we said it was too noisy.
Enjoyed our stay!
We enjoyed our brief stay at Salotto Monti. It was a clean hotel in a building with character. We thought the room was pretty cozy and close to attractions / food.
This was a perfect apartment for our Rome visit in December, 2023. The staff were very flexible and the space nicely fit our family of 4 including a lovely terrace for breakfast or a drink. From this location we were able to walk to all the tourist sites in the city including the Colesseum, Trevi Fountain, Vatican City, and more while still enjoying non-touristy restaurants nearby.
The staff was incredible!! Elisa , Federica and the rest of the staff made our stay even more pleasant. The Hotel had an excellent location. The room was very clean.
It’s not a hotel
We really enjoyed our stay at Salotto Monti, the staff is really welcoming and kind. The location is very central and walking distance from key attractions, and they also have a very nice terrace to enjoy your breakfast. Overall a very good choice for a city break to Rome.
Cute place with a nice location, great staff and breakfast. My room was too close to the breakfast area so it got a bit loud early.
Fantastic
Fantastic! Great location and staff. We stayed in executive apartment that had small kitchen and a spacious bathroom. Noise does travel from the stairwell of the building, so bring some ear plugs if you are light sleeper. Lovely roof terrace too!
We loved our stay here at the charming Salotto Monti Hotel! Staff were all super friendly and accommodating! Our apartment was very roomy, clean, and comfortable! Breakfast is excellent!! Hotel is in the perfect location! It is in a historic old building with charming architecture. They have elevators - which is so excellent when you have luggage! If we are lucky enough to return to Rome again, this is where I want to stay again!!
Wonderful service from Giorgio and Nadia. Very friendly and accommodating.
This hotel is amazing. It was a large room and very comfortable. The staff was amazing. It was in a very convenient area. It is in the Monti district which is wonderful.
The staff did a great job of communicating prior to and during our stay. The location was easy to walk to main attractions like Trevi, Pantheon, and the Colloseum. The room was very nice, bed was comfortable, and the breakfast was fantastic.
Great location. Breakfast each morning was great. Best though was the staff. Super friendly and helpful always giving us great recommendations and advice!
The one of the air conditioner did not work at all, then when they fixed it and we turned on both air conditioner at the same time the lights went out and I had to call them since the desk was closed and they turned on the lights within 20 minutes. When we checked out they wanted to charge us again for the breakfast thinking we did not pay. We then waited at the lobby area to wait for our taxi and a man storm in yelling us telling us that we cannot stay here in the lobby, I told him that my ride was coming in s few minutes and he told me very rude I am the owner of these condominiums and you need to take your luggage and wait outside and if you don’t like it you don’t have to stay here again , so we left and waited in the sidewalk to avoid any problems. Besides, the issues the location and apartment was great.
The staff was very friendly and professional!
Very convenient for walking to most tourist sights. Staff very helpful and polite.
We had a wonderful stay at Salotto Monti. Great location for walking yo all the sights in Rome. The staff was so helpful and friendly. They arranged all our transportation and dinner reservations. Extremely nice, knowledgeable and accommodating staff. Hotel was very clean and comfortable for the 8 of us. The best part was the breakfast!
It was a very quaint and clean property and convenient to tourist attractions. The staff, especially Enzo, was very friendly and helpful.
Highly recommend this hotel! Amazing location, friendly staff, great room with good air conditioning, and a nice rooftop terrace.
The staff were incredible. I had an early flight and they kindly packed me a breakfast the night before so I could take it with me. No 5 star hotel provides this kind of customized service so I am extremely grateful to the staff for their friendly and kind attitude
Nadia, Enzo, and Virgilio are wonderful! Although I don’t know the names of the cleaning staff and the breakfast staff, they did a great job. It’s these people who made our stay special. They tried their best to be helpful and were always gracious. Thank you!
3 star.
Very nice. Could be better. Did not change the towels for just 2 nights. Complicated to get up to hotel. Break as fast was good. Not great.
The owners were so attentive. I appreciated their hospitality and the accommodations were perfect!
Great customer service
Did not have an iron, missing a hair dryer. The air conditioning unit was not turned on, required that I plug in the unit myself…and it was very loud when it was on. The shower was extremely moldy. No assistance with my bags or even a luggage cart to utilize for our group of 4 with many bags.
Location was very convenient and walkable to many notable sights in the Old City. Room was spacious. Staff were all very helpful, accommodating, and extremely friendly.
The hotel is in a very central location. We were able to walk to all the sites we wanted to see. Rosa and Clara were amazing, so helpful and kind. We were celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary and they had a special bottle of Prosecco waiting for us in our room. Excellent breakfast as well. Rooms were clean with comfortable bed. We would definitely stay here again.
Un hotel muy bien ubicado, limpio, muy buenos colchones, pero lo mejor con un equipo encantador, amable y cálido! gracias a Enzo, Giorgia, Federica, Rosa y Ana por su hospitalidad!
Great stay!! Girls in reception are wonderful and so so kind. Rosamaria helped us out getting a shuttle and checking us in even though we arrived reaaaallly late. The rooms are spacious and they have a good breakfast section.
Best location
Excellent location for walking to so many great sites. Rooftop patio is a great bonus!
It’s all the room and
nice old time feel rooms were small but we were out exploring most of the time . AC didnt work first night but were quick to get it fixed . nice area walking distance from everything . the map provided was excellent help .our first visit to rome not our last ,
We loved the staff, they were so friendly and helpful! They spoke English
Wonderful accommodation in an authentic Roman apartment. Pleasingly furnished and very comfortable. Walkable to all of Rome’s key attractions. Staff were professional, friendly and helpful. Highly recommended and would stay here again.
Great!
Had a lovely stay at Salotto Monti in September. It was a beautiful hotel in a great location. Only thing to note is that it's a historic building so there isn't any sign for the door. And it seems like on the weekends the door is locked so make sure you find out the code to get in or you can call and they'll help you. The staff was very helpful for my entire stay. Would stay here again!
Monti
Lovely stay at the convenient and great neighborhood Monti, staff gave very good recommendations.
Lovely stay
Central, stylish, friendly. a great place to settle to explore Rome!
Our room was by the main road, a bit noisy for my wife but ok for me
Salutto Monti is a wonderful, central hotel. The staff go out of their way to help make your stay perfect with directions, restaurant recommendations, etc. We loved it there. The breakfast provided was delicious, and once out the door the Colloseum is literally down the street! Other sites like the Spanish Steps and Trevli Fountain, The Pantheon, etc are a short walk away. Perfect place!
Terrific location comfortable bed clean and the breakfast is perfect. The staff are very obliging and will do their best to make your stay a good one.
I cannot recommend this hotel. It should be stated that the hotel does not have a street entry. You come into a very dark and ding entry with no one to greet you. It felt like many China factory dorms that I’ve seen on business. The floors and window coverings were very dirty in our room. The bathroom was in the middle of the room that had an awkward step to climb up. The bathroom was so small you could barely move in it and we’re smaller people! I asked the front desk area up on the 3rd floor if they’d request a cab for an early tour we had scheduled and was given a number and told to call another location in the morning to arrange it ourselves, needless to say when we tried calling the number we could not get though. I’ve stayed in many international hotels and this was one of my worst experiences! Do not stay here!
The Salotto Monti is situated right in the heart of Rome. Most of the tourist sites were in walking distance from the hotel as were many reasonably priced restaurants. The room was not very big but quite adequate for our stay. We appreciated the facility to make a hot drink and a small fridge. The choice at the 'serve yourself' breakfast was very good and the staff attentive without being too intrusive. We were met on our first day by Patricia who was the receptionist on duty that day. She was extremely helpful and informative throughout our stay.
The hotel, which had been recommended by friends who had stayed there, was in the heart of Rome. Despite this we found the room very quiet, and, with the air conditioning, very comfortable at night. Because of its location we either walked everywhere or took a local bus from down the road to all the tourist sites. Several very good restaurants were just down the road opposite, not far to walk back to the hotel. On our arrival on the first day we were met by Patricia, who was the receptionist that day, she couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. During our stay at Salotto Monti Patricia was on hand to help on several occasions. She was charming !! Thank you. The breakfast choice was varied and our thanks to the young man who served us for most of our stay, Avea, my apologies to him if I have spelt his name incorrectly. If ever my husband and I visit Rome again we would not hesitate to stay at Salotto Monti.
Good enough
Side tables kinda suck, room is pretty barren but had essentials necessary. Getting into the building can also be a challenge. Staff was great but limited hours!
Amazing location which made the city very walkable! The staff here was spectacular and friendly, they made it great.
The design and decoration of the hotel were beautiful. The water were not hot enough and the room was on a main street very noisy
Great location. Very large room, comfortable beds. A bit noisy from traffic and inconsiderate people elsewhere in the building. Breakfast a bit cramped and not the freshest bread. But very nice staff and ovral great value for money.
Stayed here twice. Cute spot that is very conveniently located near the Colosseum and near the Monti neighborhood. Stayed in two different rooms both times. Great breakfast and staff. First room was quiet. I experience a bit of noise in the second room (near the breakfast area) because of staff/people walking by
