Great hotel and nice amenities! Staff were very nice and accommodating.
We love the property. My husband and I had stayed there before. This time we were traveling with our daughter ghetto and sister and brother-in-law. We booked our rooms separately but when we arrived together they told us they didn’t allow groups of more than four people and that we would not be allowed to sit by the fire pit together or eat our breakfast in the dining room together. They were very unwelcoming and made us sign a paper swearing that we would not congregate together in any part of the hotel together and never make a reservation to come again. They basically spoiled our whole stay.
Nice hotel in a great location!
Amazingly kind staff and amenities, like the free drinks, the public bath, etc. Really incredible place to stay that was great for the price.
Bed was slightly squeeky
Fantastic service, great location, beautiful hotel
Hotel is walkable from the station. I like the design of the hotel but sound proofing isn’t the best as you can hear people outside if they are loud.
Excellent location and good facilities
Ideal location for Kyoto station. We had a rooftop room with huge balcony. Room was nice apart from the bathroom - it’s like a plastic box that we saw a lot of ok Japan but it was on a slope so made me feel dizzy! Bedding could have been better but was ok. Breakfast was good and loved the free welcome drink every night. Bar was very cheap and so was restaurant in hotel. Nice seating area outside with fires and blankets. Free public bath with salt sauna. Massage chairs in south building and washing machines. Free tea and coffee You get a lot of bang for your buck at this hotel! Loved the pjs too Would stay again.
Wonderful hotel near the train station. Many nice amenities, including a welcome drink, a common area with coffee and tea available all day. The buffet breakfast was exceptional. The staff was very welcoming and accommodating. We will definitely return to stay at Sakura Gallery hotel!
Perfect social hotel
Loved the free evening drink for all guests - it made for a great atmosphere after a full day of sight seeing! Very comfortable hotel, lovely hot baths and btilliant service.
Very nice lobby like a lounge
i liked the hot tub and gym.
Probably the best stay on our 3 week vacation. Very friendly staff. Lots of amenities on property. A 5 minute walk to the station. Would definitely recommend.
Great service and location ; fantastic breakfast buffet ( almost brunch inspired ) with endless choices of fresh quality food.
Nice staff. Nice restaurant and musicians. Shimizu San and Josef San are great hosts in the restaurant.
The hotel had a fantastic buffet breakfast and had many modern and cosy spaces to sit and relax in, including a cafe, bar and onsen. The room was clean and nice, and felt a bit more spacious than other hotel rooms we had in Japan. Reception staff spoke English well and their service was good, but felt a bit less helpful and accomodating compared to other places we had stayed. In the evenings, they had a live musician play instrumental music until 10pm, which was a pleasant surprise, but you could still hear it gently playing from within your room. Some might find this disruptive if your looking for an early night.
Very nice open lobby, rooms amazing and clean, great smoking area. Only negative thing is that you’re not allowed to eat outside food and drink at the tables in the lobby, the restaurant at the hotel was simply okay.
Great location, clean and friendly
The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The restaurant was great. We enjoyed the fire pits, friendly staff, professional, and friendly help. Coffee beverage bar was great And the free evening drink was wonderful
Very comfortable, quiet and convenient. Liked the morning coffee/tea bar and the evening complimentary beverage. Restaurant good. Nice courtyard.
Really nice to walk around station and back to the hotel with ease.
Great location close to the train station. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Spacious rooms.
Unique place.
Friendly & Helpful staff. Very Clean & efficient.
Great location, terrific breakfast, really nice onsen, complimentary welcome drink is a really nice bonus. Would definitely stay again.
I enjoyed the daily welcome drink, the lounge that is sun filled during the day and warmth with the fire pit lit at the night time.
Very close to Kyoto Station. Close to Don Quixote Store.
The hotel was VERY conveniently located the room we were in was massive. The balcony is a lovely touch too. Would definitely stay here again.
Spacious room and balcony access. Comfortable bed and working AC. The hotel provides coffee and tea along with the electric kettle. WiFi is a bit temperamental and in some cases I had to use mobile data, because video streaming was buffering.
Excellent. Walkable to Kyoto train station so perfect as visiting in third trimester pregnancy. Clean and modern, comfortable and quiet. Good non alcoholic drink options for nightly welcome drink. Staff kind and helpful. Would stay again.
The amenities were great. Coffee and drinks available for guests until 10pm. Staff were nice. However, room was not clean. The floor between the bed and sofa has spider webs, and hair accumulating. The comforter had a blood stain that was not cleaned.
Really good location. Hotel very nice. Staff very helpful Room compact but all we needed. We enjoyed our complimentary evening drink to live music. We decided to stay an extra night. 😊
Unique design with open air aspect to reception area. Roof top room nice outside space helped because bedroom was small although bathroom was larger than our previous hotel (Hilton) Tokyo. Huge variety of choice at breakfast but for me I would have preferred more options for the evening menu. Great location for Kyoto station.
Very convenient and clean
The weather was hot but the aircon in the room was great. Really close to the train station but no train noise at night. Bed was comfortable but would have preferred different pillows. A great place to stay while sightseeing in Kyoto and Osaka. Staff did a great job of cleaning the room or just changing towels as requested. Nice drink service every evening. There are free laundry facilities but they get crowded fast and drying can take a long time.
Location and service!
Excellent location, easy walk to main station, everything there. Luv the free all day coffee and tea along with free massage chairs. Very convenient free on site laundry ( self). Wonderful service staff. Bonus. Free happy hour drink in lobby every evening 5pm+
Great location
The perfect location from the train station (3 min walk). The staff very helpful and friendly. The breakfasts were super good. Laundromat available on the premises.
Cute, Quiet, and Convenient in Kyoto
We were looking for a last minute hotel for a quick trip to Kyoto. This hotel did not disappoint! Check in was fast and easy. The room was clean and quiet. The hotel was in walking distance to plenty of important destinations. If I had a minor complaint, it would be a step up/down in the room that I kept tripping on in the dark.
location good
Close to Kyoto station
We stayed in a rooftop room which was beautiful. The porch had a lot of seating options and the view of the city was lovely. We enjoyed the free welcome drink and complimentary coffee and tea options. The staff were helpful and kind.
Staff was amazing and so close to the train station. Would stay here again!
Terrific location near Kyoto station. Great breakfast selection.
Great location. Friendly staff. Nice breakfast buffet.
The reception area is very comfortable and relaxing. The ventilation fan in the room was moldy…
We’d stayed here for 5 nights and loved the hotel. Very close to Kyoto station. Seems all the rooms have a small terrace which was lovely. There is an open lounge and refined live music each night. We enjoyed a pizza in the restaurant as well as a welcome drink. We didn’t realise that was available every night of your stay, but the lovely Manager refunded the other drinks we had paid for, a service we certainly expect. We had breakfast once, but that was excellent, buffet style with a huge selection. There are also countless food options within the station complex, as well as a convenience store a minute away. Hotel provides free laundry machine and dryers which was very handy. Easy to catch bus from front of station to the old town, or it’s a 30 minute walk if you’re keen to use legs! We also did day trips to Himeji and Nara from here, so convenient to get JR rail or Shinkansen trains due to proximity to station. Would definitely stay here again.
So convenient for Kyoto station. The room is a good size. Bed was hard and pillows very thin. You get a free drink every night. And there is often live music. Great place to base in Kyoto.
friendly staff. close to Kyoto station. shopping mall nearby.
Right across from Kyoto station and like a 2 minute walk from 7/11. Verrry convenient. The staff here were so helpful ESPECIALLY with helping me ship my bags to my next hotel. Special shout to Ms.Ayane and the hotel night staff! If you like bathing and chilling they’ve got an Onsen 😮💨
The property was conveniently located close to the train station and shopping areas. However, there were certain areas such as the hallways and elevator that did not appear to be as clean as other properties we stayed in while in Japan.
There are so many things I love about this hotel. First, they are located 2 short blocks from KYOTO Station making it so easy to get around. They also provide guest with free access to onsen and the apparel to wear, a daily complimentary cocktail where you can sit in an open area with two fire and live music for your enjoyment and every room have its own little balcony where you can enjoy your complimentary coffee or tea. Lastly, excellent staff!
Loved the atmosphere of the Sakura Terrace with its free nightly drinks and entertainment. It was nice after a long day walking around Kyoto. The rooms are spacious and the balcony was a bonus. Massage chairs and a simple gym were nice touches. The hotel is not a high rise so taking the stairs was actually a nice option. The room itself could be updated especially the flooring and there was a funky smell from the bathroom but there was plumbing construction calendared to start the day after we left. So hopefully that eliminated that smell. Otherwise I would stay there again in a heartbeat.
The hotel was great valueZ a free beer in the lobby every evening was a nice touch. The room was basic but comfortable. Will stay again.
Lovely calm atmosphere at this hotel. Open courtyard where there is free tea/coffee and a decent welcome drink each day. Please note the hotel does not condone group bookings of more than four people and our group of six was not permitted to sit together (despite being quiet and respectful people). The hotel has a free laundry service which was excellent for mid trip stays. The location is excellent with 2 mins walk to Kyotos main train station and a taxi rank and 7eleven supermarket literally next door. The rooms themselves were basic but had everything necessary. Beds were a little bit soft so not great if you're used to a firm mattress. Overall a decent stay and good value for money.
Fantastic location, accessible to train and shops. Staff very friendly and helpful. A good range of facilities.
Good access
Beautifully designed. Free laundry service. All day tea and water. Free happy hour.
Nice lobby. Nice restaurant
Nice lobby. Free water and tea. Staff was nice. It’s a good hotel.
Very convenient location as it’s super close to Kyoto station that get you everywhere. The hotel itself is very clean. Really enjoyed the public path and the laundry. The hotel itself is in a very quiet neighborhood with many family style restaurants. Also, it’s right next to a 7-11 that you can exchange Yen easily and buy other things if necessary.
Great location
Great location if traveling by train to Kyoto and need to be within walking distance from train stations and shopping. Fun outside area within the hotel to grab a drink, food, or just hang out and listen to live music. Rooms are adequate and well priced. Staff was nice enough. Price is reasonable.
Beatiful
One of the best hotels we were in in this price in Japan and Europe. Amazing Breakfest, great and very valuable Restaurant. We spend in Kjoto 3 days in the hotel. There has been nothing we could claim about
Nice spacious room and is close to Kyoto station. Restaurant and amenities are great too.
Buffet breakfast was excellent! Complimentary drink each evening was also a nice touch
Staff was so friendly and so close to a lot of shop, restaurant and also train station. Breakfast was amazing. Will definitely stay here again.
Location is good near Kyoto station!
As for the staff, there was only one gentleman who was awesome! Attentive and very pleasant. Unfortunately, I didn’t get his name, but he spoke perfect English. The others were very cold. Our room reminded me of a cruise ship. The bathroom had a sewer stench. The AC was horrible in this summer weather. Also, in this day and age I would think the property would have Netflix or some TV app where we can log into our own account and watch our favorite programs. The location was convenient to the train station. But, next time I’ll choose another hotel.
Great hotel near station
Great hotel near station with great services and amenities.
Staff was extremely friendly and helpful
Great location with just a few minutes walk from Kyoto station, room is spacious
Super close to a 7-Eleven and the Kyoto Station. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly and the room was perfect for our stay in Kyoto. Appreciate the eco-friendliness of the hotel as well.
Chill and comfortable, just few minutes to station, perfect location
Location location location
Location was perfect. 5 Minutes away from the Kyoto station
Very close to Kyoto Station. Polite and helpful staff. Clean room. But I can't seem to find a safe to use. Nice balcony to chill at. 7-11 is so close. I had a good stay. Thank you!
The hotel offers wellcome drinks everyday and free coffee.
Helpful staff and they speak English. 4 minute walk from Kyoto Station. 7-Eleven is the next door building.
Had a great stay and the staff was so nice and very helpful
Convenient, beautiful layout for comfort and elegance. Fire heaters, music, welcome beverages and grand breakfast.
Very well located, walking distance to Kyoto station. The breakfast offered is very good.
Great hotel, great experiance, and happy about the staff!
The property and hotel were great but the rooms were not sound proof. Could hear a lot of what was going on outside
Great sized room and great facilities (free laundry, free massage chairs, free welcome drinks, tea coffee station and water station. The room however, is a little noisy due to the "openness" of the space. The balcony street outside can be quite noisy. Live music goes til 10 ish so that can also be noisy if your room is on the lower floor.
Close to 7-11, walk to Kyoto Station. Entertainment and drinks at night
Good in general
Excellent location by Kyoto station. Fab lobby area with plenty of nooks to relax, fix a hot drink at the coffee and tea bar or head to the south building lobby to enjoy the massage chairs. Great breakfast with a lot of options. Lovely staff. Loved the happy hour drink. Room basic and lacked character but nice to have a balcony.
Everything was very good ! Nothing to complain
The property has great location and also friendly staff
Kyoto April 2024
Perfect location near the Kyoto train station. Rooms good size. Good breakfast buffet and good dinner at the hotel. Staff friendly and very helpful.
Very nice hotel.
Was a great hotel right near the train station would recommend
I wish I did not have to write this review as I would like to keep this place hidden. We had a wonderful stay here. The staff was very helpful. The rooms nice. The breakfast buffet amazing. The dinner not-so-great, but really who goes to a hotel for dinner? The happy hour was great when combined with all the soft seating and socializing. The architecture was super-cool with the hotel open to the elements, but designed so that you never got wet. I'd certainly stay here again!
It was exactly what we needed.
Comfortable room, great breakfast buffet, and very nice coffee and tea available at most times. Laundry room. I like to grind my own coffee and they have stands with grinders to make fresh brews.
We loved this hotel. The location right near Kyoto Station is perfect for getting around the city. They offer a lovely drink every evening and a delicious breakfast with Western and Eastern foods. They have a public bath facility (which we didn't use) and massage chairs which were amazing after walking around all day. They also offer drip coffee and tea and coffee machines all day. The rooms are quite small and have very little storage space, but we spent very little time in our room, so it was fine.
Very clean and nice hotel. Love free drinks. I would love to come back for the future trips.
Spacious room, well laid out, clean, lovely deep tub for bath, great water pressure for shower. Husband enjoyed the onsen facilities. Nice to have a private deck area. Took advantage of the laundry facilities as well. Great breakfast in the restaurant with both Japanese and western cuisines. Very close walk to train station which has a very high variety of shops and food venues. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. I would stay here again! Thanks for the lovely stay!
This was one of the best stays I’ve ever had. The property was clean and had great amenities. The staff was helpful, friendly and attentive. The rooms were nice and it was close to everything I needed as well as the train station. All in all I would definitely recommend.
It's hard to believe this hotel has only three stars! It's wonderful. The rooms are spacious, the breakfast buffet has an enormous variety of choices covering many cuisines, you get a free welcome drink every evening, and there is a public bath at the hotel. We loved soaking in the Japanese-style bath each evening and following that with the sauna.
Great .
Great for the money paid!
Not worth the money. The only good thing is location (very close to Kyoto station). Either go somewhere cheaper or pay more to go to a better hotel. - Room conditions are not great. It is not cleaned properly and I was starting to have allergic reactions due to the dust. I also dropped a piece of food on the floor and they did not clean it despite 2 consecutive days of room cleaning. The room is also maintained in poor quality. The wallpaper was ripped in some places and there were many stains and scratches on the wall. - Bedding is poor. You literally get two incredibly weak/flat pillows on your bed and that's it. - The shower is so tiny. That's why I opted to go to the public bath but you have to go to the building across the street which is super inconvenient. The public bath was also always crowded. - It is an outdoor (motel like) facility. The check-in counter and lounge are all outside. Technically anyone from the outside can walk up to your room door. If I knew this I would not have booked this place. Overall I am not satisfied with my stay. I wish I stayed somewhere else!
