Staff very friendly and laundry facility very handy. Could have done better with parking lot as it impeded our water view, which is what we purchased at this location for.

A n Ross no hassles facility that has all you need for a refreshing holiday. Close to restaurants and stunning views of Lake Taupo and Mountains in the background. This is our third visit

NZ road trip

Lovely apartment / motel right on lake Taupo. Large space with very comfortable bed and decent sized shower room with powerful shower. Owners were lovely , friendly and helpful. Good communal barby and a lovely outside seating area. Definitely stay again.

Perfect beachside spot

The staff at Sails on the Lake were top notch, everyone was so nice and helpful! We loved the location as it was right across from the public beach and super close to downtown shops and restaurants! We also loved the kitchen setups in the rooms to make a quick breakfast or dinner before our busy days! Would 100% recommend this resort to anyone traveling in the area!

Our room was equipped with a kitchenette and they had a grill on site. It was close to amenities. The lake view was wonderful we really enjoyed our stay

The rooms were spacious, with great amenities and a fantastic view. The location was incredibly convenient, with easy walking access to restaurants and stores. However, the air conditioning is located in the living room and struggles to cool one of the bedrooms, even with the door open. Additionally, one staff member was rude during checkout, which was disappointing.

This beachfront property had all the required amenities and was conveniently located right opposite the beach. The rooms were cozy and well-maintained, and plenty of parking was available.

Loved our stay at the sails on the lake! Room was very clean, it was warm, had everything we needed, awesome service from the lovely guy in reception, the view of the lake was beautiful to wake up to and a bonus that it is 10min walk to town. No complaints! 10/10! Would recommend 100 percent!

Overall the property was good however the wi-fi was very slow at times.

Nice quick visit in Taupo

Quick and easy check in, convenient off street parking, clean and comfortable room with view of the lake across the road. Had everything we needed for a nice night during our couple of days in Taupo.

Great place

Very nice place. Ruby the cat was fun. You can walk to town in about 10 minutes and ubers are very easy to get. The lake to right across the road. Very clean and nice motel with good parking.

Property is a bit dated; but kept in good condition. Came in late about 8:30lm. Reception office stayed open til after I checked.

This property had everything we needed for our stay, the view was beautiful and we enjoyed the spa bath. Shops were xlose by as were the restaurants and cafes

Well-equipped and very clean

Wonderful place, good location for lake with plenty of parking, a bit of a walk to the town centre but perfect with a car. Friendly staff who couldn’t do enough to make my stay comfortable. The cleanest place I’ve stayed in a while, and one of few who still offer daily service. Everything I needed was in the room. I’d recommend it and would love to go back.

We loved our stay at Sails on the Lake. The space was very comfortable and roomy. We loved having the living room area as we. As the patios off both our living room and bedroom. Everything clean and totally up to expected standards. I highly recommend.

Free use of washer/dryer and soap. Largest selection of TV channels that I have ever seen in a motel.

Did not care for our room which was on the bottom floor next to the driveway. Not conducive to being outside on the small patio. Felt like we could get hit by a car at any moment.

We were a couple of two. Had our own unit's. Across from the lake,coffee trailer just down the road. Owner was most welcoming and helpful. Thank gor our stay. HAPPY TO STAY AGAIN *****

Great location being right beside the lake and an comfortable walk to town if you enjoy a good walk. Good parking options. Busy road outside but no problems with noise at night. The sofa bed in the lounge was not that comfortable for the third member of our party

The manager and his wife were very friendly and helpful during our stay

Everything was great, except the barbeque trays which were not cleaned properly.

So very glad we stayed here! Lovely, quiet and fully self-contained apartment (including basic cooking gear and laundry facilities), with plenty of room for the family (2 adults and 2 kids). Right on the water front, and an easy stroll along the lake to fabulous dining options. It was the perfect place for us to explore. Keep an eye out for the very friendly local cat who came to say hello every morning!

Easy to check in. Nice view of lake. Parking available. Clean. Smelled of bleach. TV channels good. Not too nosy. Shower had interesting taps with a preset amount of water flow, but it was good enough. Only negative was that the sofa bed was uncomfortable.

Property was a great find. About 20 mins walk away from the centre of Taupō. Manager was extremely friendly and was fantastic with advice.

Lovely hotel in a lovely area.

My wife and I stayed at the Sails for three nights in October 2023. We loved the place, especially the lovely view of the Lake that we woke to each morning. Our unit was a one-bedroom and had everything we could possibly need. The rooms were clean and very well maintained and the Hotel personnel were very friendly and helpful. There was plenty of free parking available and the area was very safe. The only issue was that the hotel is far from downtown and not walkable, but it didn't really bother us as there was plenty of free parking in the town, and being so far away meant that the area around the hotel is very quiet; we slept like babies for the three nights. We are very happy that we chose the Sails.

Lovely being on the Lake front. 2 kilometre walk to shops and the wharf.Very comfy bed and everything you need supplied.

We loved it here, wish we could have stayed longer. The owner was so welcoming, kind and had a great sense of humour. Everything was very clean and comfortable!

Amazing Break

My husband and I went to Sails on the Lake for a break away from work and we really enjoyed it here. Totally amazing and friendly. Hassle free and very clean and tidy.

It was accessible, easy and exactly what we needed.
