well presented unit. close to the city. with a supermarket within easy walking distance. A great place to stay

Average

Check in Office locked. Had to ring a mobile phone to get anyone to reception to check in. Person stood up from behind reception counter Then an inquisition of whether I had a reservation or not. Room. Clean tidy. Beds ok. Pillows like imitation concrete blocks. Room suitable for 4 people. There were 3 adults staying on this occasion. Only 2 of plates. Cups. Knifes. Forks. Towels. etc in room. No bath mat or hand towels.

The rooms were a bit of a disappointment. The single bed wasn’t level. The rooms weren’t made up or even tidied. Average at best.

Not what it seems

I have emailed the owner to reply to the complaint received by the AV crew that I booked into this hotel (which was on the pricey side). I have not received a response which is completely unprofessional therefore I am posting the feedback in here: "Scott has asked me to let you know about the accommodation in Hamilton. The feedback we have had from our crew who have returned to work today is that it was definitely below standard. Some of the things they said were rooms not clean, they smelled of cigarette smoke even though you had booked them non-smoking rooms, in one of the units the toilet was almost falling through the floor, the beds were old and lumpy and sagged in middle, one of the units had stains on the wall and the spout on the tap would come off when taps turned on and sprayed water everywhere."

Ordered online and paid on credit card through expedia received email saying I would need to pay another $68 for the room already booked or this would be cancelled as was over the National field days

Close to all shops easy drive in and easy access off road

Dated motel in handy location

"Deluxe" spa room seemed really dated. It was tricky to figure out how to use heater. The couch that turns into a be was really cheapand ugly looking. However the location was good, I could walk down tthe road for a walk along the river.

Close to town

The room we stayed in was a good space and quit comfy. The spa bath and shower was lovely but just a few little things like the ceiling fan was hang out and couldn't look the door properly and tap made a loud sound when turned on but apart from those few little thing we enjoyed out stay.

Three night stay

The property is tired in some respects, however clean and comfortable and in the location we needed.. Limited linen in the bathroom, one towel each but was replaced daily. There was an issue with the shower running the hot water and getting a good pressure, You needed to run the water for a while. Tea/coffee not replenished daily, had to ask for milk each day. Not replaced. Handle on oven broken. We were given the wrong room on check in, that was remedied. The bed was comfortable and clean. Room was clean too. No issues there. Unfortunately the parking is very tight in the weekends.

Pleasant enough place to stay and handy to supermarket.

Ok but kitchen facilities need checking when you book for three you ecpect at least three of everything

Ok for short stays on a budget

We stayed for one night in February 2018. Our host was friendly on arrival, even though we interrupted him at dinner. Our room was dated but very clean. The towels that were supplied weren't matching, but were incredibly soft! We were surprised by how quiet the room was, considering we were next to the main road and the windows are only single glazed - we barely heard any traffic except a couple of extremely loud cars. The bed was comfortable and clean. There were a couple of things which let it down - there was no information in the room about either the business, or the local area, such as restaurants nearby etc. and when we went to check out just before 10am, the office was closed with a sign giving a cellphone number for urgent queries. We didn't know what to do with our key, so just left it in the room. There is definitely room for improvement, and the rooms could be updated quite easily, but it was OK.

One night only but quite comfortable

Were in Hamilton for one night only and seemed to have booked the last room available in town. While we were there at least four people were told that they were full as were all others we could see while heading into town. The room was comfortable enough but the ceiling fan wobbled around if not on full. The room was set up for three people but there were only dishes for two - cereal plate for one only. Otherwise no problem and we were quite comfortable. The man on reception was happy to come to the room to sort out how to use the TV for us and was unhappy the next morning to discover only the one plate. Evidently some rooms are bulk booked for groups and dishes get moved around by occupants but he was apologetic

It seemed past it's time...everything a bit worn, dated. Too expensive for the real condition it is in.

Didn't really match expectations. Not enough pillows and beds were old and in need of replacement. Units need a refurbishment.

A decent place with all facilities needed in motel

I booked this motel as a overnight place, in my way to Auckland airport, from south. It was all as I expected (and advertised in the website). Decent size room, comfortable, clean bathroom, and a full kitchenette with all the utensils needed to prepare light meals. It is a bit outside the city center, but for me, that was not a problem.

Close accommodations to the stadium

Good, comfortable stay. Didn’t have bubbles in spa but that didn’t detract from the accommodations. Would recommend to other travellers.

Handy location but it could be better

The rooms are very clean, and the shower was excellent quality. Sadly it felt dated and the electric jug was missing as was some of the cutlery and crockery. One window didn't shut completely. As someone who doesn't travel to Hamilton regularly, I would have liked some information about what was available locally, such as breakfast. It could have been helpful with information on takeaway meals, locations, sight seeing etc. None of this was available.

Place to stay at

This place was not expensive, it was in 3 - 4 minutes drive from town. Supermarket in walking distance. Had everything we needed.

Do not stay here!

Would never stay at this property again. Worst motel I have ever stayed in. To be honest, felt a little ripped with the dated interior.

Hotel was great. Had a good location to everything. Nice big rooms plenty of space available and spa baths. Clean friendly and plenty of parking. We will deffinely be coming to stay again.

Have not stayed here before. Property is a bit run down and access to upstairs rooms is confronting. Breakfast arrangements are a bit 'Heath Robinson' - meals come from another motel restaurant and incur a $5.00 room service 'fee' (which is not part of the declared cost when ordering). Staff are engaging and welcoming, but the general property is noisey if there are inconsiderate guests.

Cheap easy location

Walking distance to the rugby park. Clean tidy rooms. A little dated.

Excellent value and service

I was upgraded to a larger room to accomodate a late arrival and a short stay. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff were very helpful, even outside listed reception hours. I would recommend as a great option for value and service.

Convenient for the rugby

Lots of children running up and down stairs. Slamming doors and shouting. People playing with a basketball and playing music outside the room. A hole in the bathroom door which looked like it was left by a fist.

Hamilton visit

We arrived in Hamilton very early and the motel owner was quite happy to check us in and make sure everything was okay for us. Nothing was a problem for him. The room was roomy and comfortable. Thank you for a very warm welcome to Hamilton

not very professional

Check in time is 2 pm but the office is locked and no one is around to check us in. Had to phone a number, they are in town and won't be back for 10 minutes. Also seems like beneficiaries stay here while housing NZ finds a house for them. Not very professional.

Not great

Overall, the motel needs maintenance and renovation, everything was very old. It's seen better days. Our room also had a huge amount of horrible air freshener that I think was trying to mask that people had smoked in the room. Carpet had some kind of plastic underlay that rustled when you walked on it. It certainly wasn't our favourite place to stay and was rather expensive considering all this.

Helpful Management

Manager readily assisted with parking space for larger vehicle. Motel well supported by out of town contractors with work vehicles.

Went to Hamilton to see friends, was disappointed when management made comments about a visitor. Comments on behalf of daughter & son-in-law, I shouted them a night away.

Helpful staff

Hamilton was hot and very humid. The management had opened the verandah doors and had the ceiling fan running in the room when we arrived which we appreciated. We were pleased to have staff put our cooler pads in their freezer, and appreciated assistance with providing parking space for a large vehicle. Good room size. Was value for money. Normal wear and tear indicated deferred long term maintenance.

We only planned to stay one night on our way home from Auckland, because it was so nice we stayed three nights.

Don't bother!

Was really disappointed with this place. Sitting in a lovely big spa bath looking at mould around the bath and peeling paint are certainly not my idea of relaxation and comfort. Bed was budget but no where near as budget as the pillows. Overall I was really disappointed. The particulars stated that there was a spa pool available but I still have no idea where that was!

Good motel, close to river, conveniently placed for grocery shopping.

Hotel owner is very kind and flexible. I was offered a better room downstair because I have some items to cart upstair which was original located.

Close to Waikato Stadium

Sails Motor Inn was close to where we needed to be, Very handy to Waikato Stadium and supermarkets and on the direct route to The Base and highway north to Auckland. It was heated and the owner was obliging. We ended up staying there again a couple of weeks later.

Home away from home..

The owners made my stay very comfortable and were very welcoming. The room I stayed in offered a full kitchen including an oven and stovetop- This made a long stay a lot easier as I didn't have to rely on takeaways the whole time. The room was lovely and clean and offered a very homely feel.
