The property in places is looking tired and needs a facelift but the staff were excellent. They are always smiling and can't do enough for you.

Pleasant Staff. Room was looking a bit worn

Overall, not a bad stay. Upsides were that the location is good and staff are friendly and helpful. The downsides i would say, is that the rooms are a little dated. We stayed in villa, with own plunge pool. We felt the outdoor couch was a bit dated and didn't really suit the decor. Also, in the bathroom, there is an outdoor shower. The walls of the shower was showing black mold around the bottom. Which needs a good scrub and re-paint. Overall it was comfortable. Especially the sun loungers. The private pool doesn't get much sun.

A piece of heaven in the Land of the Gods, Bali!

Amazing overnight stay. We wished we could stay longer so we immediately booked to stay again in February! We enjoyed everything about our stay in the villa there & including the spa.

We loved how the property was so unique and tranquil. The location was superb with the walking ability to all things around the property. The villas were excellent with privacy, quietness and relaxing layouts.

Stay at Sagara villas and Suites

The one bedroom suite was perfect for us. It was a large room with Jacuzzi and it was very clean. The breakfast was good and the location of the hotel is perfect. The beach was only 5 minutes by walk. The staff at the hotel were very friendly.

In a quieter part of Sanur, near Mertasari beach but with tons of good restaurants and earrings close by. My room was incredible— lovely decor, big soaker tub and a walk in shower. There’s even a jacuzzi on the terrace! However, there was a couple of times where I ordered from room service and was mildly disappointed— the food was good and arrived quickly but twice I ordered a glass of milk with my meal and both times, it was forgotten (not a big deal, just a slight inconvenience as I had planned to use the milk for coffee in my room the next morning— no creamer/coffee mate)

Over all the property was fantastic. The staff were very friendly and helpful. You couldn’t ask for better staff they were great. However for us we found the same play list every day became annoying as was the music from the bar opposite the property although this did stop usually at 11pm. Our 1 bed pool villa was lovely and a high standard.

The size of these rooms are amazing, and have been renovated nicely. Absolutely loved the pool and surrounding area.

Great Staff, clean rooms with good air con.

On arrival first impressions weren’t great as villa wasn’t ready at 2 or even 230. They did comp lunch. Day 1 they never did a room turn down. On the plus side villa was huge and pool super clean with beautiful gardens. They offered a free light afternoon tea and free breakfast included. Staff are lovely but I feel they may be understaffed. The rooms are getting a little tired and need some love in places. We enjoyed our stay despite the few things I mentioned

Delightful

Totally enjoyed our first stay in Sagara pool villa. We loved the design, privacy while still having the personable reception and breakfast experience. This property is delightful and comes with a friendly staff who are attentive and lovely.

The room that I was put in was facing the road, no windows, music till late from the restaurant across the road, not acceptable. Moved upstairs to the same loud music till late, spoilt my holiday. I only stayed 6 nights as I couldn’t sleep. Asked about villas at the back of the property but none were ever available so I will not recommend this property at all to anyone 😡 So Expedia you owe me for 4 nights.

Great location, staff helpful, great place to relax

I was upgraded to a villa once a got there. I have my own pool which was amazing. The place is nice but the door of the room was not sealed when u close it. So in the night I could see lizards inside my room. The surroundings areas are not very pleasant. Not much to see

The Villa was in a quiet area of Sanur on the main street, the staff at the villa and suites we friendly and would go out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Nothing was ever too much, I would highly recommend this resort and will be certainly staying there again in the future. There is options there for dining there and also a variety of restaurants around, plenty of different places to shop whether you like the markets or shops. It is within walking distances of the main drag in Sanur.

The Sagara Villas were just superb. My husband and I stayed in a two bedroom villa as that was the only villa available when we booked. It was just magnificent ! Everything about it, we just loved it. The pool was spectacular the villas and the living areas were amazing plus the bathrooms were super awesome with the outdoor rain showers! Was such a wonderful peaceful and relaxing experience we will definitely be back! The staff were also fantastic, so helpful and sweet. We had a delicious breakfast delivered to our room every morning and spent most about time swimming in our private pool...what a great holiday! The villa was in a great area also, very quiet but so close to shops restaurants and the beach. I was so sad that we had to leave, we can't wait to return! Thank you Sagara, our stay with you was absolutely wonderful and such lovely memories.

Sagara was wonderful for a quiet relaxing few days after the noise and busyness of Ubud. The apartment was clean and spacious and the private pool was wonderful. All the staff went out of their way to make it a wonderful break, with their friendly, smiling faces. Nothing was too much trouble

We loved our stay at Sagara. First time back since Covid and it didn't disappoint. Some work being done to the premises but that didn't impact on us. It'll make the whole place better in the long run. Breakfast options are fine and tasty. Western, Mexican and Bali options. The suites are well setout and the air-conditioning is frosty. The pool being so very warm was probably my biggest issue in the whole experience. As usual, the staff were superb. Nothing is too much trouble and we were very well looked. We'll be back again!!

Firstly very disrespectful not to be informed prior to our arrival there was construction happening in the villa next door 7 days a week 9-5pm (however started at 8am and finished 5.30/6pm) no management intervention. Poor form!

It is nice to stay in a boutique property like Sagara. There was always plenty of room available at the pool, and often we had it to ourselves. The grounds are peaceful and quiet. The staff are friendly and willing to help. The location is fantastic with everything you need within a 10 minute walk. The room was kept very clean and the bed very soft. The cons to consider is that all the suites back on to the road which includes a restaurant that plays live music every night from 8-11pm, so please factor this in if it is something that will bother you. The breakfast will be satisfying for most, but wasn't big enough for my husband. All in all I would stay here again and recommend it to others.

We stayed at SAGARA Villas and Suites for one night only, before our trip to Nusa Lembongan the next morning. We had a really great experience. The one-bedroom villa I stayed in was amazing. A great outdoor shower, as well as an indoor bath and bathroom, a great size room, outdoor lounge, kitchen and a plunge pool. Everything was clean, and the bed really comfortable. The staff were absolutely amazing! They were very helpful, and took great care of us. I arrived and had a massive headache, and they went out of their way to go to the pharmacy to buy painkillers for me. The breakfast was delicious, and the Vietnamese restaurant next door was really good too. We wished we had stayed an extra night as the villa experience with private pool and friendly staff were fantastic. Thank you for a great stay, and for taking such great care of us.

Private pool villas were perfect for a couples getaway, we felt like we were the only people staying at the hotel. Sanur is very low key and peaceful with everything you need in walking distance. All hotel staff were amazing and went out of their way to ensure the stay was memorable

I had an incredible stay in one of the SAGARA suites. The room was comfortable and had everything I needed, was cleaned well everyday and there was also a turndown service which was a great touch. The pool area was great and always a free sun lounger when I went down. I also made use of the spa facilities and received the best balinese massage I've had - highly recommend this service. The quality of food was also great, I had both breakfast and dinner from the hotel menus and couldn't fault it. There is also a Vietnamese restaurant tied to the hotel that you can order from which was also delicious. Finally the staff were really what made this place, I received 5* service from all staff members.

Falsely advertised

Hotel review Falsely advertised. This is by no means a 5 star hotel, rather a 2 star at its best or perhaps a motel. The room was moldy and smelled, the furniture was very dirty and outdated (e.g. chair cushioning and curtains stained), and the towels not white any longer (had a gray yellow coloring). We also got a couple of bites during the night which looks like traces of bedbugs. This is a hotel that has purchased the premises of an old hotel and not updated or renovated anything. We initially booked 2 nights but could only stay for 1 night and instead booked another 4 star hotel instead, which was accurately advertised. Ps. this is actually my first hotel review ever (I’m typically not bothered to leave reviews despite traveling a lot) because I felt so misled by how the hotel advertised on the internet.

Comfortable and easy

Came in late from the airport. Checkin was smooth, nice bfast choices and small but pool area. Unfortunatly the weather prevented me using it. Spacious room and comfortable.

Nice villa with a private pool. Lots of space to relax.

We arrived and were shown to a room that was boiling hot, hotter than a sauna. The A/C was turned off when we entered and it seems to have been off for a long time before then. Very uncomfortable experience on a hot day. The staff was thoughtless to do this to a guest.

The massage

The compound is good with pool at the center but don’t have beach. Our suite room was smelly at the first day and changed to better room. Thank you. The room bit autdated but the room is big with jacuzzi. Breakfast was ok with options. The coffee was great. The massage was great and cheap,also includes lunch. Overall ok, not great

The great on site restaurant,the large rooms,the cleanliness and of course the nice staff.

We liked that it was central to shops and restaurants. As we enjoy walking we found it not too far from the beach. We were disappointed with the cleanliness of one of our bath towels.We returned it to reception as we refused to use....it was very soiled and was supposedly a fresh one for the day! The staff member was very apologetic and embarrassed and they were quick to replace it! A lesson to laundry staff to ensure the linen is in a clean condition before distribution!

Paradise

From the moment we arrived, we felt like we were staying with family. Nothing was too much trouble and the stay went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. We didn’t want to leave! I can’t wait until our next visit to fabulous Kamuela Villas.

What a great hotel to stay in Bali! This place is so well organized, spotless clean, bed is so comfortable, room is very very spacious ( 970 sq ft for the suite)! with the amazing jacuzzi, what a bonus! You can also smoking outside within your room property! The staff are so great so nice , so polite , so friendly and helpful! And I’m talking about ALL staff! Even the manager Chef Dhee is so friendly and helpful to us and asking to provide any help or answer any questions if we have ! They’ve made us feeling like a king and a queen at our own palace! OMG! What a amazing stay! I’ll definitely stay at this place when I come back to Bali next time! Thank you, Kamuela ! :)

Spacious room,friendly staffs and good environment

I liked the location, and size of the property- It suited us as we like the quiet of a relaxing environment . Also the different areas to sit and location of main pool was Conducive to enjoy meals in a tranquil space.

Beautiful villa, great service and perfect little town. Unfortunately we only had a one night stay but enjoyed an incredibly delicious private dinner to celebrate our anniversary by the pool before heading to the reggae bar across the street.

Peaceful and perfect

Such friendly staff made our stay wonderful. The suite is large with a very comfortable bed, large bathroom, whirlpool bath on the private veranda. As there is a water fountain in the room they have eliminated the need for plastic bottles which is a good touch. The location of Kamuela is perfect as there are plenty of local bars etc and a short walk to the beach. There are many different choices available for breakfast and all cooked and served to order. We also dined here for lunch and some evening meals too. The staff are amazingly helpful at all times and came out to wave us off home. Such a good place overall.

This property allowed us the privacy that we were after. We felt a mile away from all the shops and restaurants that were right outside if we decided to venue out. The staff we wonderful and we enjoyed all the food from the restaurant.

Great location

After a little misunderstanding at check in the hotel were very understanding and we were lucky to be offered a villa for our last night, much appreciated. Nice breakfast and overall good experience. The location in South Sanur is great. This would be good for families, suggest couples book a villa for the privacy.

Quite tired and run down looking compared with when we visited in 2016. Suites were musty, and check in staff begrudgingly gave us another room that was not quite as bad. I could not breathe in 224 but 223 improved once we let some fresh air in. The rest of the staff were lovely and friendly. Pool is good and we could always get a lounger. Daily afternoon tea was great. Room cleaning was not thorough. Don’t think we will return even though the price was reasonable for such an enormous space

One our of our 2 Villas was always having a damping smell, and that made the whole experience worst beacause it was hard to sleep in a bed and room with smell. Wifi was the best thing. Private swimming pool was awesome. Breakfast wasn’t nice. Service was good. Location was good.

Nice place

The place was nice with good food, small portions but tasty. The hotel has a great shuttle service that will take you anywhere around the sanur area for free. Good location to plenty of restaurants, and the reggae bar over the road also has great food and live music. The room was a great size but the toilet didnt have a very powerful flush so it blocks up really easily and the jacuzzi in the suite was awesome, i loved it. I will definetly visit again.

Very close to the beach and beautiful, relaxing hotel with amazing team on-site. Only small downside is that there’s a fantastic reggae bar across the street with live music so depending on what room you get, you may have some noise trickle through even with doors closed (I don’t think this is an issue for all rooms, just ones close to the front of the hotel).

Nice hotel close to all amenities

We enjoyed our stay here, we had a suite room which was very spacious and clean but could do with a little refurbishment (don't want to be picky but cupboard had chips of wood out of it). Close to all amenities, was on a road which had loads of shops and restaurants. There is a nice bar over the road from hotel which had bands playing every night (good bands actually) which was cool but could be a bit loud sometimes, they tended to finish playing around 11/11.30pm so if you like to go to bed early on holiday probably not best place for you. We were fine with it though. Hotel staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast. Only 5 minutes walk to nice sandy beach. I would recommend this hotel.

Ok hotel

The room was comfortable but the furniture was old and need replacing. We had a room on the street side, pretty noisy. The worst was a very bad smell of stale oil, I guess our room must have been close to the kitchen. This hotel has no access to the beach. Will not stay there again

Good, but not what I expected

We booked a two villa room, and were very excited to stay at Kamuela. We did have some great experiences (their restaurant was amazing, their staff member who took us out to the airport was lovely, reception staff were very friendly), but we also were at times disappointed. The villa kitchen area was a little unclean. There was nothing to wipe surfaces, no bin liners etc. We had a large pile of chlorine in the corner of the pool which didn't dissolve the whole time we were there. Afternoon tea was provided, however on day two they didn't bring milk, and refused to do so, saying we would be charged. This wasn't a cheap villa, and we felt this wasn't acceptable. The rooms were clean but dated. Unfortunately, when we looked at these villas earlier, we were shown a newer recently renovated 3 bedroom villa which was a lot nicer than the one we stayed in. Maybe that is where the bulk of our disappointment came from. Karmuela is in a great spot, and the staff are lovely. If I was staying in a newer villa I would stay there again for sure.

Great room. Great pool. Peaceful. So peaceful. The hotel was not right in the centre which might not suit everyone but it suited me.

Between jobs

My wife and I stayed at a suite which was lovely and comfortable, the staff are amazing and we will come back to try out the villa s on our next stay. The location is perfect if you like a quite part of Bali.

Smell of damp in the room was overwhelming

They tried to cover it up by installing those scented air scenters, horrible fake smells of air freshener is not 5 star. The room had no window room lot a French door so airing the room was only possible when the door was open. With the water feature outside the mosquitoes many that wasn’t really possible. I rarely complain but this was horrible. The breakfast was tasteless and limp. The staff were lovely though. I just cannot understand how this got a 5 star rating. A jacuzzi in the room doesn’t cut it.

Top Value

This was the first hotel we checked out on our get to know Bali hotel research where we were met by a genuine smile from junior staff, which generally means people care and often implies supportive management. At any rate, we wanted to stay here after that. When we saw our Villa #2 I was blown away by the value: A perfect private experience for double the price of rooms that were half as nice and had half the features. If bathtubs are your thing, you could not end up in a better place. We have found the staff accommodating of a few special requests and offers of afternoon tea on the house are a nice touch.

Good location.

This was our first stop on our trip to Bali. The resort is tidy and the rooms might need some updating. The faucets need to be repaired as they are not secure in places. We stayed in the main part and we were across the street from a place hat had live music for the 4 nights we were there. It can be somewhat loud at times. I think the villas would solve this issue as they are set behind and may not hear it. Otherwise this place met all of our expectations.

First night in Bali. Sanur region.

We booked this hotel for the first night out of 10 nights. Strong moisture smell in the room. Breakfast is not too bad. This is not a seafront hotel. Pool should be cleaner.

Comfortable small hotel in Sanur

Stayed in a 1-bedroomed villa (No 2) for 6 nights. Kamuela is an older property, villas are large and comfortable - pool area was attractive and private. The bedroom area is air-conditioned, the large bathroom (with an external shower) is not. The open-air living area is also large with a kitchenette and seating area. The main pool is a good size but must admit we enjoyed having our own private pool.

Huge room

Excellent holiday in Sanur. The hotel is nicely designed. The rooms are a bit worn but huge and comfortable. Our jacuzzi didn't work which was disappointing. The pool area is small for the amount of guests. Breakfast was great with fresh juice. The spa was amazing! All the staff were excellent , very polite nothing was too much for them. The location is good.

At-home cosy hotel with the friendly staff and wit

All staff were very friendly and service was excellent, providing us with the old Balinese story every day with chocolate, free massage, discount on dinner, free shuttle service in the district, etc.

Scrum in pool. Shower floor sticky. Dead bugs not removed. Had to ask for room change cause of musty odor. Food was delicious, food staff service great.

Nice hotel with great value

Hotel is nice and staff is very friendly. We arrived very late and still got in-room breakfast next morning. The complimentary in-room breakfast with a big variety was very nice. Also liked the big room size and the hot tub in the room. We booked in transition to go to Gili and the location is great to be there fast and not get up too early in the morning. Sanur itself is not the greatest place and it will take 1h-1.5h to get to Kuta, Seminyak etc. However, we did enjoy the stay as it fully fulfilled the needs and expectations. Good price for what you get.

Ripped off by lastminute.com

We bought this holiday as a secret hotel and advertised by last minute as a five star luxury hotel which it is not. From the property manager himself it is a very tired and dirty 3+ property. We have booked with lastminute.com previously and with good outcomes - I also emailed lastminute on our second day staying here and have not even had a response. We checked out earlier than planned, I would be most interested to learn of what compensation you may offer as some form of apology for this gross misrepresentation. One very unhappy customer as you have ruined our annual holiday.

Could be so much better

The rooms are nice and big, the hot water in the shower and the sinks didn't work. The bath hot water was fine, but it didn't work on anything else.

Lovely boutique style villas and suites. We stayed in a large suite which had own jacuzzi. Most comfy bed and pillows I've ever known in a hotel. All the staff are lovely and the food is very good, nice quiet pool area, was perfect for our honeymoon and would highly recommend. The air con is a bit noisy but you get used to it and couldnt be without it! Lots of bars and restaurants in the area but rooms still nice & quiet. 5 mins from beach....we loved it!

Quaint, quiet and relaxing

Just what we were looking for. Quiet, relaxing, beautiful villa in a part of Bali that is not swimming with tourists. We would stay here again.
