Property is definitely in need of updating. Staff is amazing. We had a few issues and they were resolved. Unfortunately they need to coordinate their renovations. We had to change rooms twice. Once because of lighting issues and once due to cleanliness and the fact that we could not fit into the shower access. The third room also had air conditioning issues. The staff are absolutely top notch. They tried their best to fix everything right on the spot. The rooms are also spacious as well. The location is also great with easy access to the major roadways. Once the renovation is complete it may be worth a visit.

Very comfortable with a great, friendly, helpful staff. Great location if you are interested in the Ramblas area. Our room was great - clean and comfortable and pretty quiet - even with the construction on Ramblas.

All the Staff we dealt with were excellent and happy to make our stay as comfortable as possible.

2 night city break!

Great location for our short break exploring Barcelona. Room was great, view of Rambla our only gripe was that our air conditioning didnt work, but we didnt actually go and make a fuss about as with the window open we managed to get a breeze in.

Excellent staff, the area is under construction...

Very noisy outside due to the road construction. This also caused long delays in traffic. The staff and room was excellent though, and the location to restaurants and shopping was outstanding.

The Property is in a great location! The Wall paper in my room was old and pealing off the walls in certain places. The toilet in the bathroom is at a very strange angle I doubt anything can be done about this immediately, but some thought should be given to relocating it within the rather large bathroom space. The rooms are basic, comfortable, but do need some maintenance before they begin to downgrade and look completely shabby.

Great location. Walking distance to lots of different attractions. Subway station 2 minutes away. Easy commute to the airport!

good sized room

While staying there in June, the hotel is under renovation so you have workers around in the hotel. And the renovation started even before 9am and we had to feedback to concierge on the renovation noise. Moreover the light turns off on its own as the sensors were not sensitive or missing to detect there’s people inside the room. The location of the hotel is great but properly would only stay in this hotel after it completes the renovation.

Property is in a convenient location to everything

The hotel room was great. Loved that everything was digital and easy to use. The staff was courteous and very helpful for most, but did sell us tickets that were supposedly “skip the line” for the Sagrada Familia at an extra charge, which we later found out do not exist. Lobby and front desk area is a bit small for check in, but aside from that it was a very pleasant experience!

Is a nice hotel

The Hotel is lovely. Modern, Clean and chic. Staff super nice. Bathroom & Shower very nice. The mattress was absolutely terrible. Honestly, I’m not high maintenance at all, and the mattress felt like something you would put inside of a tent at a campground. I would ask for a pillow top of some sort if you are going to stay at this Hotel.

I stayed at this property last year and liked it so booked again this year. The location is so perfect! Although the customer dress excellent, the hotel seems to have deteriorated a bit since I was here in 2023. Some updating would definitely be welcome. It would have been nice to have some more bathroom amenities. They’re light on these. The only disappointment I have is being a VIP Expedia member doesn’t seem to mean anything outside of North America. No room upgrades were offered until I verbally asked if something was available. They told me nothing was available but that we would get a bottle of wine, but we didn’t get that either. Other than that, we love this hotel.

I booked two rooms. One is much better than the other one. One is newer, recently renovated and clean. The other is older and not enough lights. Overall location is great. Close to everything. Busy but quiet. Staff were ok. The boys helping with luggage are good. The front desk staff so so. I would come back but will definitely ask for the newer rooms.

Best location for a stay in Barcelona the hotel is modern and has all amenities . Staff was very helpful they even gave a Europe converter for my charger till I stayed . Would recommend everyone to stay here .

The AC at the room I book was not working. I asked the hotel staff to fix it with no response. Sewer water was dripping from the bathroom ceiling. When I asked the front desk to move me to another room, they did not assuming that there were no available rooms. They offered to move me to two other rooms to accommodate my family. The rooms were freshly painted and we could not stand the smell of the paint. It took them almost three hours until they offered an alternative room at a nearby hotel belonging to the same chain.

Renovations very noisy, alarm (malfunction) during night and very small room

The location is convenient. Hotel staff is friendly. The hotel is newly renovated with a contemporary vibe. We stayed in a room for three with good storage space. Bed is comfortable.

Horrible check in set the tone of our stay.

Check in was terrible. Are room wasn’t ready at 3p and the front desk kept helping others while we were waiting. The front desk staff made us feel like we were a bother every time we asked if our room was ready, yet. We were extremely tired after flying for over 24 hours and all we wanted to do is get to our room.

Love the location.

Location excellent, near to everywhere. Good breakfast. No chair in the room, no place to put the luggage and not the cheapest room.Told the hotel but nothing changed. The shower room was good but not very clean.

Renovated doesn’t fix all problems

We were given a “renovated” room that the ac didn’t work and a shower leak that flooded the bathroom floor. The hallways and room smelled very strong of paint. We kept going back and forth with the front desk about it being way too hot in our room, it took them 2 hours and 3 rooms later to put us in a ac working room. They would send someone to our room, he’d push a button each time and gave us 20 min time frames before we could call them back. Mind you, this started around 10pm at night and we had an early flight the next morning.

this hotel is in need of very serious upgrade...

The room was very small not worthy for 300EUR per night. The noise near the room was loud not to mention the fire alarm at one in the morning with no reason.

Bait and switch

Reserved for a comfort triple with a separate bedroom with 2 twins/ 1 king and a twin in living room. Was put in a double with smaller room and no bedroom living area separated. The hotel staff continually argued that it was an upgrade like I was stupid. They did give me the room reserved after 2 days and provided free breakfast. I had to argue to get back the free breakfast when they removed the breakfast after 2 days.

We had an excellent sty at Royal Ramblas. We got in very early and they were kind enough to hold out bags until check-in time so we could park and go explore the city. There is no parking on site but there is a garage a few blocks away that was very easy to get to. We were able to unload our things at the curb in front of the hotel so as not to have to drag them around from the garage to the hotel. The hotel is located right on Las Ramblas which makes it very convenient to walk to shops, restaurants, and attractions in the area. Our room was comfortable and clean with good WiFi. Breakfast was excellent. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

Great Location and Service

Great location in the heart of Barcelona. They are updating the rooms and we had a newly update room. Modern, but the hvac was a little confusing to operate, but once we called, someone was there in a few minutes to show how to operate it. Nice to have both heat and air conditioning. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was large. Our room overlooked Las Rambles and it was well insulated from all the people and potential noise down below, especially during the evening. There is a subway running under Las Rambles which you can slightly hear when it goes by, so if you are very sensitive to sound you might want a room on the other side of the hotel. The breakfast was good (same every day) scrambled eggs, meat, cold cuts, cheese, breads, fruit, etc. We paid for it as part our room and don’t regret it. Nice to get a full meal before starting out on your day. The staff was very helpful with holding our bags (we came off a cruise ship and arrived in the morning) and getting us a taxi for our trip to the airport. Good customer service.

Great location

Great location in the middle of Ramblas, close to all the restaurants and shops. Friendly staff during the check-in. Only negative that I can’t get over is the cleanliness of the rooms or lack thereof. Carpet needs to be replace and you can see how dirty the tables and other furniture are.

The hotel is under construction and shakes from a jack-hammer being used one floor down. I'm the type who always tries the stairways as practice for a fire. The carpet on floors four and five at the steps was so poorly installed that anyone using the steps will trip. I;ve stayed in 50-60 European hotels, and this is a two-star, NOT four-star hotel. Two occupants should expect to get two bath towels--- don't yah think??

Walkability

The hotel staff was excellent - helpful, professional, and polite. The property was upgraded, clean, and perfectly located. The only issue we had was the underground subway ran constantly and bothered us while we were trying to sleep. Also did bit receive the VIP perk. Otherwise we were extremely happy with our choice of hotel

The only unique feature of this property was the totally unacceptable construction noise (drilling and hammering) on the 3rd floor especially on a weekend! For what they charge! Stay away!p

First, this hotel is under construction and it should be disclosed at some point. There is hammering and saws on the 4th floor during daylight hours. If you like an afternoon nap after sightseeing, forget it. There are two elevators in this hotel and they were both occupied by construction workers at one point. After being told to “get the next one” a few times, we finally just started hopping on w the guys regardless. There is a bit of party noise at night, but it usually quieted down by 2400-0100h. Our room was comfortable enough, but I would expect a shower head that hangs in a direction other than horizontal and conditioner dispenser along with the provided shampoo and soap. The lobby staff were great and definitely 4 star plus. The facility, not so much. Maybe after the renovations are complete?

I wouldn’t consider this a 4 star property. More like a 3. No dining option. Ancient dusty carpet that needed to be replaced. Safe didn’t work. Loud, touristy area. Didn’t feel safe walking around after 23:00.

This was an amazing place for our family to stay. However, there was construction in the hotel which was very noisy. We requested our room to be changed and staff were very helpful with this.

Royal Ramblas.. mixed feeling

It was our first trip to Barcelona and after researching where would be the best spot for our 3days trip, we decided to pick Royal Ramblas Hotel which was in close proximity to the catalyuna plaza. Overall, it was good spot. Very close to the public transportation systems (bus/metro) and there were alot of commuting people almost every hours of the day, so it was a good and safe spot for us first comer in terms of getting around the city. However, there was few (imo significant inconvenience) things that I did not like which were the construction going on during the day and almost into the early night, lack of water service (clients are given 2 bottles and they have to refill it themselves), and the room temperature. It was very cold in our room (we went in late March) and we could not figure out how to operate the room temperature. Since I have been in Barcelona now, I don’t know if I would ever visit Royal Ramblas or recommend it to anyone unless they are okay with the location. The location is very good and the price you pay for the location, in my opinion is worth it.
