Lovely hotel that could perhaps have done with a little more TLC. The floor in my room was well past it's sell by date and the WiFi was a bit flakey.
The stay was wonderful, I have stayed at the Royal Mirage previously- this was my 6th visit The staff are amazing, in particular the reception staff Nagoua in particular was amazing. Lovely service overall and the location is brilliant for quick walk into downtown and Medina
No dining option besides their super expensive options. Amazing location though!!! and very confortable and cozy environment
nose of traffic and night Clubs
nose of traffic and night Clubs i We couldn't sleep
Nothing
Some broken door security items in room, not very safe.
They are remodeling some floors, so it was super noisy. The hotel is 2 to 3 stars at best. Doors are squeeky with a very load noise.
Wifi didnt work.bath tub kept blocking
The staff was nice. Housekeeping would come in and clean the room and once they had left the floor with really greasy and it made it dirty to get into bed. Had to continue washing feet. I got abouts 8 bug bites sleeping in my room. I'm not sure if it was from a mosquito or bed bugs. Overall it is a nice hotel but it is not worth the price you pay.
Run Down
This is a very run down hotel, but the hotel was clean, service was okay - except for the lady in reception who claims to be the manager was not polite at all
Would not class it as a 4*. look tired in need of a clean up and paint. Breakfast needs improving, Very little veg, vegan option, Need fresh milk. need to change breakfast around. Same thing every day!!
The property is tired and in need of renovation. When we got thee we got maintenance in 11 separate items. Even then, some items were not reported. The staff seemed indifferent and appeared not to care apart from the reception staff, who were attentive. The breakfasts were appalling- the cooked food was dried out, fresh food tasteless. Not a good advert for Marrakesh. We tried another hotel in a similar price range - a very different experience,
Room was next to room with inside door .You could hear all their talk late night and early morning
have come from usa to marakech with my wife to spend our hollymoon something stranger happend to us while iwas at the front disk and my wife went up to the room ad the security stop her not to go up he thought she was sneaking up steers he considring her she was ahoor icome ad iwas very mad iwent immediatly to the front disk to make accomplying and the lady said to me she iwill pass this message to the manager you should fire that guy he should learn how to treat costumer service
the hotel is old on not well maintained. so it look a bit dirty
A 4 star hotel with beautiful decoration. Room sizes are bigger than other hotels
Hotel has big touch of local culture, unfortunately feels rather old and things are broken, sink in the room etc. Also no visits possible in the hotel pool or for ridiculous 40 eur a hour. They are trying the best though by delivering during the night, taking care of you everywhere.
Close to all attractions
Not good when I arrived couldn't find my reservation,I was over charged 1000 dh,orbitz was partially responsible for not confirming my booking.
Great for a short break!
I made a late booking and chose this hotel as close to the Medina & tourist sites. Despite other negative reviews, I found the staff at the hotel friendly and helpful. I booked a Junior Suite room which was HUGE! More than enough room for 1 person that's for sure. The food in the hotel restaurants is quite limited but for 3 nights it was fine. The pool is lovely, towels are provided. The hotel is an older property but still very grand - lovely Moroccan styling
Overall very nice!
Had a very good time. Staff very friendly, room amazing and had everything you could want and very clean. Only negatives we had were the shower didn't get very hot and the wifi didn't reach our room properly so that wasn't great as well. The breakfast was great and had a large selection but as for lunch and dinner it was very limited and the quality wasn't great, but that still wouldn't put me off going back to stay there really. It was really good! It's in the new town which is much more developed with all the bars and restaurants around it so I would definitely recommend staying around this area rather than a riad in the centre of the old town
Not 5 star
Marrakesh
The hotel is pretty central so all good there but needs a refurbishment No hot water on a daily basis / daily door problems card readers very old so daily visits to the receptionist Nice view from poolside rooms
Very nice place in the area called hivernage a litle far from everything but also quiet from the very busy market and daytime trafic, there is WiFi but always seems have connection problems on the 3rd floor verry good breakfast
The Hotel was in a quiet location but near enough to the centre. The room was of a good standard and spacious.
Delightful hotel that is definatly faded opulance
Great air con, helpful and friendly staff and big bedrooms rooms with lots of storage space , fridge and safe
Convenient to main square and new area
Staff a bit off hand. Distinct lack of both pool and room towels. Had to ask for them on 2 seperate occasions!
Warm, Friendly, Comfortable & Great Value
Would stay here again. Very friendly and cooperative staff. Good quality food and exceptional mint tea. The only area of improvement is general room cleanliness.
hotel its close to everything
i hade good experience but before i perchese this hotel i was thinking its was 5 star but that not true for me its was between 3 to 4 star the breacfest in the morning its was very bad its always the same not taesty not to mutch choice very limeted , when you order morocan tea be very careful they charge evry glass 30 dh that a lott for morocan tea so if you are family of 3 to 4 person they will charge you 30 dh each glass that very very expensive for that beside that its was ok
Hotel was empty with hardly any guest all.
This hotel is big and beautiful from some parts. However it has hardly any guests staying there we checked in for 5 days left after 2. All other hotels around where full and busy. Rooms and place need updating, room facilities are a few and TVs don't work. Views not good from window and staff are nice but you can tell they are bored. Price was good but after staying there you can guess why.
Royal Mirage Deluxe Marrakech - good experience
Walking distance to the main square & new market. Breakfast generally good. Not much to do in the hotel. Western food places are all local.
Overall my holiday went really well, Staff were very friendly and helpful, they informed us of the different activities and tourist destinations around Marrakech. They also provided us with a driver who understood and spoke English.
great hotel bad internet connection
great hotel for a decent price but really bad internet connection.
great hotel, bad internet !
really great 5star hotel for a good price, but bad internet connection, hope they solve this.
Brilliant location but not 5*
Good location, helpful staff, pool was freezing, breakfast limited.
Hotel
First it's not five star need trading stranded to in shoul not b on internet class as 5star this hotel only 3.5 star even bed rooms 3star dirty bed sheets broken shower no sleepers in bathrooms I got pic for all these no internet in rooms I am goin to put complain regarding this
feed back stay
was nice but the wi-fi is not available in rooms only in The lobby , conditions of rooms must be rewied! the management was helpful and tried to fix wi-fi
Could not sleep at nights due to noise from the st
I was expecting a five star hotel , but unfortunately it wouldn't make a good three star hotel. Breakfast was also horrible .uffff I would like to forget about this experience!
Was goood
Was very good
Superb friendly hotel..
The stay was superb and very relaxing, plenty of facilities in the hotel with very warm welcoming staff, outside pool was very spacious with lots of sun loungers.. Rooms very lush and very clean..
Good
It was good
Former luxus hotel
This has been a great hotel I believe. Now it is in need for maintenance. Now this is not a 5***** hotel. 3 maybee. The room and the bed was OK but nothing more. When we came there were no towels in our room. After 4 phonecalls and 2 visits to the front desk we got towels after one hour. The pool area was great. The breakfast was approved.
This hotel does not deserve more than 3 stars
The condition of the room and the bathroom is very poor. It is very dated and it needs refurbishing. Many of the fittings fall apart. The room service is bad and slow. The only good thing about this hotel is its location in the Hivernage quarter, near to good restaurants and clubs and close to the Medina.
Trip to Marrakech
Hotel staff are very helpful and friendly. Room are big and comfort.
Decent hotel, close to Gueliz & Djemaa el Fna
The hotel was in a very good location, in between the new town and the medina. Me and my partner had no trouble walking to Gueliz which was only 10mins. If youre brave enough, as the traffic in Marrakech is hectic and no one will stop for you-even at a zebra crossing. But hey thats part of the experience I guess, we didnt find it a major issue & at times made them stop for us lol. Getting a taxi from the hotel to either Medina or Gueliz is 20 Dirhams but does increase to 40 Dirhams in the evenings. Make sure u get a small taxi as they will only charge that price. Larger taxis charge 50 Dirhams minimum but me & my partner are good at haggling so sometimes if we got a larger one we managed to cut down the price. It depends on how you speak to them I guess-we're persuasive people. You will get stopped alot by beggers asking for money as they can tell youre a tourist from a mile away-just avoid eye contact & walk on is the best solution. The food price is the same as UK and sometimes even more. The hotel was ok, wasnt too bad for a 3 night stay. Staff were always friendly. The room is spacious with a balcony. I wouldnt class this as a 5* hotel even though its what is stated. The hotel seems nice but is in need of a renovation. No bottled water or kettle & mugs are supplied in rooms. Buffet breakfast was good-extensive selection: hot foods, breads/pasteries, cereals, fruits, pancakes, tea, coffee and orange/tropical juice.
Within easy reach of everything you need to see.
Pleasant environment with very friendly and helpful staff. Good location within walking distance of main square, great restaurants, bar and even casinos.
Okay, but not great
Standards of cleanliness and upkeep are not what you would expect given the rating, and although the location is good, there were people who had been clubbing in the area that were outside my window making noise all night for two nights until 5:30 am, which made it hard to sleep even with the windows closed
Good hotel but service needs a massive improvement
The hotel sevice needs improving. The breakfast was included n the facilities are good but they are short on staff. No one to serve your tables at restaurants and breakfast. You have to wait for ages! And even then you dont get served properly. The location is great with easy access to medina. The pool is nice but the gym equipment wasnt working in case you fancy doing some exercise.
Not luxury, not 5star, dodgy neighbourhood - avoid
Inhad a one night stay at this hotel. I thought was more 3 star than 5. I wouldnt be going back, nothing luxury to talk of.
Looks great but doesn't deliver on service
The main entrance and lobby is stunning, but went we arrived our room was not ready, we had to wait until 4.30pm and did not get towels and bedding until the evening after numerous calls to reception. Our friends who were also staying had no towels on a daily basis. Room was spacious but not very clean with stained chairs and dirty bedding. No water or drinks are provided, and none allowed into the hotel forcing you to buy at hotel prices.
Very poor
I booked 2 nights but was that disappointed I only spent the first night there. Approx 1 sun lounger per every 3 guests. No toilet roll, towels or batteries in TV remote when I checked in. No attempt at English translations on any hotel documentation. I even asked for a menu in English and was told "non". 20 - 25 minutes wait for a drink by the pool from ordering to delivery. Balcony covered in bird pooh and feathers. These are a few of the issues.
Nice hotel
It should be a four stars hotels really as the breakfast buffet was so horrible where food served was poor quality and truly basic nothing was a five star hotel experience on food side the room service is so slow it took us 50 minutes to get a bottle of water after 9 calls to room service and reception
Decent for Marrakech
At first glance, this hotel was great... ornate furnishings in Moroccan style, big pool, bar, restaurant, big room... but at closer look, it was actually pretty shabby. The rooms furnishings were old and falling apart and the deck was incredibly dirty. The restaurant and bar had just an ok selection and were relatively expensive. The pool was the best part of the hotel. It's not that close to anything, which is inconvenient since you can't go anywhere in Marrakech without getting constantly harassed by taxi drivers or to buy something. Their service was spotty at best. There didn't appear to be any personnel dedicated to any one task... they were all always just running around helping people when they passed by.
Nothing special normal hotel
It was only 2 night it's only a normal hotel I won't say it's 4 stars hotel in general we spent nice time
Definately not 5* - More like 3*
Stayed May 2014 - Where do I start - the business centre is two desks with a computer in the lobby area, bed sheets dirty, bathroom floors not clean, breakfast selection is small, I saw the breakfast manager using the same napkins to clean the tables after a guest had finished and then fold it back up for the next guest, no guests are allowed in the room (apparently this is the law), no iron in room, mini bar was empty, room service starts at 08.00 - not before you have to wait, lobby lights are switched off at night. Very short staffed, nobody picks up the phone in room service, house keeping - and the receptionist wont transfer the call - "please call back dialling 7 or 9!" This hotel is 3* not 5*and priced accordingly.
Oppressive staff at a shabby hotel
Hotel is worn and dilapidated. Staff follows you everywhere to insure that no guests are invited to your room unless you can prove that you are married to them. Felt more like a prison camp than a hotel. Refused to get me a taxi after 11pm telling me it was time to go to bed. I understand the strict customs of the country, but to impose them on a visitor is absurd. Not a good place for anyone other than a married couple, even then, shabby. The pool was nice.
~Rubbish hotel, hot, smelly no pillow cases on bed
Dreadful hotel - could not eat the breakfast. Wont stay there again or recommend it to anyone
Good location
Overall the hotel does need to improve as it does not deserve it's 4 star rating, The décor is very tired, service especially in the restaurant was very poor - not enough staff replenishing the food at breakfast and often had to get our own knives, forks, serviettes etc., not bringing enough glasses & cups for the beverages. Toilet seat was broken in one room and was still not fixed after 3 nights, also air con was not working but at least was fixed after two days ! Need to vastly improve on getting room complaints sorted much quicker !
Well located and good value
It was pretty good. The internet worked well and quickly, the TV worked, there was both shower and bath and the room was large, and it was mostly clean. It is in a quiet side street just near the ramparts, between the old city and new. Overall not bad.
Nice hotel close to Medina
The staff is not service minded. Fitness facilitets are very bad.
Good location, poor service
We were only staying for two nights. The hotel grounds are beautiful but the service is very poor. The staff were never available and we waited 15 minutes on the second evening just to be allocated a seat when the restaurant was empty! We then gave up and went to Mai Thai restaurant nearby (excellent). It is a nice hotel but don't pay full price, it's not what you would expect from a 5 star hotel.
Thin walls, lies, slow, poor & inaccurate service
Hotel lobby is stunning, swimming pool is large but the service was very slow and we were not given what we ordered. The walls were very thin and you can hear conversations, televisions and arguments in adjacent rooms. In addition, while we were told that breakfast and lunch were complementary, on checkout the same clerk that told us this refused to acknowledge her previous conversation with us and tried to charge us. When we asked for a taxi from the hotel, we were shown to an unmarked private car whose driver attempted to charge over 150DH (over 3x the standard rate) for a 5 minute trip to the medina before giving our suitcase to another person who tried to take us to a completely different location than the one we wanted. The room was okay, the bed was large but soft. Overall, a poor experience. Would absolutely not recommend. Do not go here.
Drop the "Deluxe"
Good location a stones throw outside city walls and great outdoor pool and the hotel is cheap. However, hotel staff really don't want to be bothered, restaurant closes when it wants not when it says. Hotel the size of an aircraft hanger and looked like a faded conference hotel. Nothing left that is "Deluxe" any more. A good budget hotel - that's it.
not 5 star hotel
very bad room with bad service and very bad internet , i will never stay there again
Should they fix the wifi and aircond....
The hotel room is absolutely okay! But aircond and wifi as you promise us never works! And remember thats called cheating! But other than that everything is okay! I mean everything! Called the reception about the aircond they dont even care. But other department staff was so great! At the restaurant everone was so nice and the breakfast was absolutely great! The security were so responsible protecting us! The hotels scenery and design was a marvel! Should they fix the wifi and aircond it would be a great place to stay!
Great Business Hotel
Staff very helpful. Left my iphone charger in room on departure and when I went back for it a few days later it was there for me
nice hotel for a few nights
The location of the hotel is pretty good ,in Hivernage neighborhoud ,close to most of the modern bars restaurants and clubs and at the same time just a stone throw away from the Medina . You can easily get to Jemaa el Fnaa on foot in like 10 15 min. The room was big and nice and clean. We did not have any drinks in the fridge so i went to the nearby shop to get some water but then I had to argue with the security gard at the door because importing drinks or food in the hotel is not allowed. I had two bottles of water because we were htirsty and we need water to brush our teeth etc. so after a discussion with him and with the reception staff I was allowed to enter the hotel with the water I purchased from outside. First time ever I have problems in any hotel because I have water from outside. Did not get that ,it is hot there, nothing in the fridge. They should provide at least 2 small bottles in the room . Anyway. The decor in the hotel is very islamic if I can call it this way. You have the impression you are going into a mosque. The swimming pool was good . I think for the price ,location and room this hotel is a great option.
O.K but it is a 4 stars and not 5
a good experiance but the hotel is very hot in summer.
Overall pleasing BUT disapointed with service
The hotel is actually impressive to look at with a wonderful pool area but that is all. The service is terrible, we were constantly running to the reception desk for service. The reception desk had too be called 3 to 4 times before any one turned up.....the management staff were simply not bothered. Its a shame because the hotel is really nice
Average hotel .Not 5 Star
Hotel was ok,nothing great. Service is a bit slow and forgetful . The plus point is the size of the pool which is quite large .The hotel was a bit dark with no natural light to brighten the lounge . Breakfast is poor with very little choice.
Good, with room for improvement.
Our stay at Royal Mirage Deluxe was generally good but we were not pleased with the following 1. The Air conditioner did not work despite the fact that your maintenance crew came to the room 3 days and tried their best to sort it out. As we came from UK where the temperature is cold we found sleeping at night uncomfortable. We therefore consider that it will be appropriate for the Hotel to offer some compensation as the other room where our daughters were staying did not have any air conditioning problem. 2. The quantity of food served was small in proportion to the price when compared to the other hotels of the same standard. 3. There was very limited variety of food served in the restaurants. We suggest that a Hotel of your standard which has tourists of all Nationalities staying, you should at least have 2 dishes from the European and Asian cuisine to widen the choice. 4. The coctails were expensive and tasted very flat because the alcohol portion was less than the quantity necessary.
Beautiful pool, overall not at all 5*
Overall would not call a 5* hotel. service slow but clean and fantastic pool. Very disappointed with the fitness room many machines were broken.
Nice Hotel
Nice hotel..more like a 4 star than a 5 star. good breakfast. Had a very nice room with beautiful view. Just make sure that you don't get any of the rooms above the night club. The party dosent stop until 5 o'clock in the morning. Also Note that the hotel does not allow you to bring any food or drink from the outside into the hotel, not even to your room.
Untidy Hotel
The staff were not transparent and did not inform us prior to us having a buffet dinner of the pricing. The price is too high for the quality of a buffet dinner. There was hardly any meat in the Tajin that was served and the food was not hot. The hotel lobbies were filthy as construction work was being carried out and those areas to the suites were not barricaded by the hotel. Dusty and dirty curtains were poorly hung. The fixtures in the bathroom and bedroon are very old and not well serviced. The shower is very small and old fixtures where the shower door could be locked from the outside of the shower. That was quite scary! It is definitely not a 5 star rating.
Hotel was under renovation, this REFLECTED poorly
Absolutely horrible and a disappointment. We left!
The hotel may have been great at some time but it almost appears to have been deserted! On our way to the room through the service elevator there were sofas in the back area that were all covered with sheets. As if it was the off season but it was not. The hotel was completely empty and dark. Our room was OK but a big disappointment. First thing I did was looked at the bed linens and the sheets looked clean but the comforter on the top was disgusting! We went to look by the pool, which could be nice but again it was also abandoned. There were guests but no staff and the pool bar was not in operation. We went and looked in the spa and I can honestly say it was disgusting! So dirty I would never has a treatment in there. We asked reception for a map and they didnt have one. The hotel smells of cigarette smoke all over! Which isnt that abnormal for Marrakech as you can smoke inside. We made the decision to leave the hotel and go elsewhere because we could not stay for four days here. I had looked at reviews of this hotel and they were all mixed - some good some bad. I dont know where the good reviews have come from. The biggest frustration was that this hotel has massively misrepresented itself. It says it is 5 stars on its websites and all of the pictures are clearly from a different time. The hotel does not look like this anymore. This is by no means a 5 star hotel - it is a 2 star hotel by American standards and 2 star for european standards I would say.
Marrakech Hotel
Basically, an excellent hotel - let down by a total lack of ambiance in the fairly expensive evening dining room (only one dining room whilst we were there). The food was OK - the service definitely not so! 20:05 to 22:05 is too long for a 3 course meal - when we already knew the menu!! Breakfast, on the other hand, was comprehensive and most enjoyable!!
Some staff unhelpful. No hotel information provided. No local trips advertised. Hotel restaurant had no menu displayed. Good location. Could be easily improved
Wait, wait and wait again
Arrived in a taxi and waited for someone to help us with our luggage but nobody showed up so ended up dragging it up the stairs ourselves. Waited at the reception for ages to be checked in as there was only one person who was busy with a French couple complaining about something. Then we were given a room that was already occupied by someone else. Then waited again at the reception for a new room. The room was large but not particularly inviting or comfortable. Had to go to the bar to buy water. We couldn’t sleep at all until 6am because of the noise of some party. Made a mistake of having dinner at the hotel restaurant. It was empty but had to wait for over 15 minutes for menus. Ordered steamed sole with vegetable ratatouille and was treated to fish fingers with boiled cauliflower and carrots. I should have taken a picture to proof I’m not making this up. The soup was nice though. And there was very strong unpleasant smell around and inside the lifts. I was very happy to leave the hotel the following day.
Good hotel with major issues - far below 5 stars
Pros: great location - nice rooms with space - big and nice swimming pool - friendly staff Cons: Walls are made of paper, I could hear my neighbor coughing - Although staff is friendly, service is terrible. It took me hours and hours to have any tiny issues (electric outlet not working, wifi down, dozens of flies in my bedroom, room service not answering the phone etc.) fixed. There is a bar and a disco inside the hotel, so expect to hear some music from your room until 12am or so. Overall it is a nice place that isn't worth its price and that I wouldn't recommend to any one looking for the quality of service that is supposed to come with 4 or 5 stars hotels.
Comfortable but lacking character
Located near the medina - rooms were clean.
Not recommended
No room service I guess!! Asked for a bottle three times and I didn't get it!! Not a great service in general disappointing... Not recommended
Good place to stay near the Medina. Close but not right up in it, which is great. Food prices are high for what is provided. This is rated as a 5 star but is really a strong 4 that needs spruced up but the feel of the place is very Marakech. Good breakfast
Good Hotel with and excellent location
The hotel was perfectly situated to allow the guest to get to both the old and new parts of town by foot (if you choose to do so) or cheaply by taxi. The staff in the hotel are friendly and helpful and whilst the hotel room was spacious and clean there were one or two slight issues with the condition of a couple of areas. The hotel was beautifully decorated and all in all it was a pleasant stay...
Not 5*, but good value
I's not a 5* as rated, but if you get a good deal it's location & facilities make it excelent value for a 3 night stay. Breakfast is nothig more than ok. Food limited & service poor. We booked a Double, but they expected us to stay in a twin & move after the first night. Complained & got upgraded to a Junior Suite - happy with that. Pool good. Location ideal by the city wall & good for Medina/Souks & gardens etc.
Ok
The hotel was amazing when you walked into the lobby, because of the interior and the view of the pool. However, that's where it stops. The room wasn't cleaned properly, the bathroom was out dated, toilet was broken, towels were never in the room after they cleaned, it got returned to you in the late afternoon. They speak minimal English so getting things understood is a challenge. There is no "gym" unless what they call a dark dingy room at the back of the hotel in the basement with some loose weights and a bicycle a gym. The "spa" was next to the "gym" with similar features. Don't bother go on the account of this!!2 Breakfast however was really good! Wide variety So if your just looking for a hotel with a ok room just to crash and a great breakfast to get you started on your day of exploring about the city and come back to cool off with a splash in the pool then this is great !!!
Our stay was very memorable in Marrakech! Our hotel was close to alot of attractions and most important within walking distance of the best market I ever shopped in! There were a few little set backs about our room as one nite no bathtowels were left ect. One good thing was they tried to correct these problems rights away! Very clean hotel which was most important. Good coffee and the buffett breakfast was quite good! Beautiful lobby and free computers to use in the lobby which I most enjoyed!!! Nice big balonies though a problem with pidgeon waste but our maid cleaned it thoroughly everyday! The hotel also paid to dry clean some bathsuits ect. that the pidgeons decided to use the bathroom on:(We found if we tipped our maid she would go all out and sprinkle rose petals throughout our room and bed , which was very nice!!!The pool though not heated was the cleaniest pool I was ever in and felt quite refreshing on a hot day. The poolside food was good and displayed very nicely when delivered to your lounge chair! We would go back to the the Hotel Mirage deluxe in Marrakech again!!!! Decent price as well!!
Great Location but not 5 star!
Hotel is average, if you are expecting a outstanding 5 star don't go here. Like all the other reviews I agree it is more like a 3 star. Hotel is in a great location, walking distance to all the sites! Rooms are big and clean but need a bit of a revamp. On arrival a lot of things were missing from the room, only one glass and bath robe, no hand towels, and no toiletries, by the next day, these had all been replaced. Also toilet did not flush properly and no tea/coffee facilities in the room. Hotel was very very quiet and lacked atmosphere, a lot of staff standing around doing nothing. Pool area was very nice, but water was cold! Bar area was also empty and a lot of choices on the menu not available. In all would probably stay there again as it is good value for money and a good location! Just don't expect luxury I had a great holiday!!!
Magical and unforgettable...
We've just returned from a wonderful 4 night stay in Marrakech. The hotel is ideally situated to explore the city. Although cheap, there's no need for a taxi as the Medina is a pleasant 15 minute walk away. The Hotel is charming, decorated beautifully and elegantly furnished however it is a little tired in some places. Our room was clean and breakfast was delicious with an excellent selection of both hot and cold dishes. They also have a Chef who is worth her weight in gold, cooking fresh omlettes to order... I'm missing them already! If you get the opportunity there is the most amazing Ryad where we had dinner on our last night. You will need to ring to reserve a table however I think it was possibly the most magical experience yet, having drinks on their roof terrace and then eating the most exquisite three course meal in there restaurant. Ryad El Fenn just 10 minutes from the Hotel is worth every penny although a special treat to enjoy with a loved one!
Room service not so good
The hotel is perfectly luxurious, and staff are friendly etc. Room service is debateable. The tajine ordered for room service was cold and had to be sent back and re-heated. Not the service of a 5 star hotel especially if you paid full price for it. However the breakfast we had in rom service was perfect and the buffet breakfast is also good. The tajine was the only thing that let the hotel down.
Excellent breakfast
The staff in the hotel were pleasant and friendly. I felt our room and bathroom were a bit "tired" but they were perfectly clean. The hotel felt like a calm oasis after the noise and clamour of the medina but some evenings we felt it was just too far to make the walk back to the medina, alongside a busy main road, having walked around all day. Although there was wi-fi access if you had your own laptop, there was not a computer available for guests. The breakfast every morning was excellent with a very wide choice of food.
DO NOT TRY IT
Nothing to say rather then please DO NOT BOOK in this hotel and it should be rated 1 star but not 5.
jan 2012 review
well overdue for a refurb...we went in low season so hardly anyone there which created a dead atmosphere...we had problems with our balcony door which wouldn't lock..they sent a handy man to bodge it back together but was never reassured it would have taken much to brake in
Royal Mirage Marrakech
Unglamourous worn-out hotel.
Lovely Pool area
This is listed as a 5 star hotel. I would say it's more a 4 star hotel. it looks grand but that's about it. There was gum on our bathroom floor - it had never been picked up. the toilet smelt of urine. a dirty wine glass was left in our room for days. Breakfasts were very nice. We ordered a glass of wine and it was not clear that we had to buy the whole bottle for £25. We told the waiter we only wanted a glass and he never said anything. they said the internet was available. it never worked and when I pointed it out it was still not working the next day. Some of the reception staff were very helpful.
Watch the traffic!
Within 15 minutes walk to the Medina but need to cross some very busy roads whilst having to dodge the numerous motor cycles who have no regard for other road users or pedestrians.
Fantastic pool
Very impressed overall with this hotel, it was beautifully and traditionally decorated and very comfortable. The service was good and the location very good as it is located between the old town and the new, both of which are a short walk. It has a lovely pool and no shortage of sunbeds along with a good spa. The only issues we had were our balcony being prone to pigeon dirt and feathers due to nest just above and we had a long wait to check in not made better by staff not communicating how long the wait would be. We were told half hour on 3 occassions. The food could certainly have been better However despite these I would recomend the hotel highly.
Excellent Value for Money
After booking this hotel, we read some reviews, and were concerned about some of the comments made. The facts are that we had asked for a double and a triple room, this was provided precisely, three separate full sized beds in the triple room, all prepared beforehand. The rooms are large and airy, airconditioning works (even in temperatures of 43 degrees outside. Almost everyone spoke English, including the pool attendant, and location was within 15 minutes walk to the centre. This hotel has grand lounge and restaurant, staff were very obliging, and certainly better than most 4 star UK hotels. It does meet the International 5 star standard, in comparison to the UK I would put it at 4star plus. Very good value for money, with very clean pool. Certainly no hesitation to stay here again.
poor
terrible service and very rude staff! we had to change our room because of a smelly sink releasing disgusting oozing smell but failed to respond to us quickly wasting our whole day waiting to change rooms. very sloopy staff who give u one word answers. car park attendent however was the only pleasent member of staff we came across there. not a five star hotel!!!maybe four or three for its service. room service poor and quality of food was horrible. extra charges were made too. regretful we stayed there. Air con was broken and they couldnt even fix it for us.

Very good location close to the market and the centre of Marrakesh yet enough out of the way to be very quiet
