every thing is good. Due to covid 19, service for airport pickup was impacted. Otherwise is great.
Location and free shuttle bus to disneyland was good Staff could not help much on disneyland services and provide direct help
LUXURIOUS FIVE STAR HOTEL
Good alternative than going into Shanghai if transit stay
Terrible wifi requires a Chinese phone number to sign in (International Hotel?). An attendant had to come up to the room to use his local cell phone to help us sign in to wifi which ended up to be very weak anyway. It was frustrating. The executive lounge I paid extra for was closed for "renovation". The room ordered was non-smoking but it smelled with smoke. The lobby check-in staff did not speak English.
Great facility nicely maintained, and near PVG airport.
Need to update hairdryer. A 1200 v travel one doesn't work well.
Everything good, outside of urban, but just take 10-15 minutes walk to subway for everywhere of Shanghai.
The staff was very helpful, and the room was very comfortable
3 star hotel
This is only a 3 to 4 star hotel now....over priced for what you get........its all Chinese now.....Same as staying at Green Tree hotel but triple the price.
I liked how breakfast was included with the stay. They were very punctual with the wake up call when it was needed.
Great location
Only the hotel exterior not attracting, rooms and breakfast are fantastic.
The hotel was lovely .. wish to stay longer next time
A good stay option in the suburb of Shanghai
Hotel is very good, the service and support staff are cooperative. But the location is an issue particularly if you are going to move around using subway/metro. The wifi is a problem for outsiders like us trying to open sites which are either prohibited like Google etc. Else local search engine like Sogou etc runs quite fast.
Very poor English communication overall. I used the 2nd floor restaurant, rated as the first class with five stars. None of the attendants understand the basic English and the English menu does not tell anything. At the end the restaurant manager charged me for the wrong table; over charged me. I mentioned the restaurant’s mistake to the hotel manager when checking out; totally in vain.. he does not understand any English... very disappointed.
Royal international hotel
Pleasant though accessibility is abit far from metro
Good Excellent pricing Nice large room Clean room Near PVG Airport Bad Arranged for hotel shuttle, bus never turned up. Rang hotel and they said bus had come and gone, which it hadn't as I had been waiting for 30 minutes. Telling lies to your customers is never a good sign. Tried to arrange airport shuttle for return, shuttle only does fixed times and I would have to wait 3 hours for the next one. Do they actually have a shuttle bus? This hotel is in the middle of nowhere and I mean nowhere. The metro station is about a 20 minute walk and the walk to the station did not feel safe. The area around the hotel is very very local, do not expect to see international restaurants and bars, they aren't any. I found the area outside the hotel unsafe and I saw no tourists in the area. The hotel has a Chinese restaurant, I was the only diner when I went and it was quite expensive. It took about 45 minutes on the metro to get into town. Missed the last train (about 10pm) and struggled to get a taxi. All the drivers refused to take me and eventually when I found a driver who would, they wanted 400 RMB. In summary, this hotel is just too far from central Shanghai and the metro is not as near as mentioned in other reviews.
Very good, nice and clean, I liked shuttle bus to airport.
I loved my view and room. Everyone was lovely. I would have liked to have a room service menu in my room.
lovely rooms with bath. Could not get a decent glass of wine though!!
Very close to Pudong airport only 15 minutes driving,, nice rooms.good breakfast nice indoor swiming pool
Great overall experience, excellent hotel, friendly staff, great buffet breakfast, nice area, malls and stores nearby
Amazing room! Amazing bath! Huge rain forest shower, plus a huge free standing tub. Surprising, a glass wall between the bath and bedroom. But there was a blind that lowered with a push of a button. Close to airport with free shuttle. Robes and slippers. Attentive and very helpful staff.
A beautiful hotel but the taxi driver found it difficult to find.
Nice hotel. Comfortable bed and beautiful hotel room
It was a very comfortable hotel but it was way too far from the city of Shanghai
Very good hotel near Pudong Airport
Great service. The staff was very attentive and kind. If I was in Shanghai longer I would have stayed longer at the hotel.
Nice room except that it smelled like smoke. It was a little annoying that the free hotel shuttle only picked up at the airport every 2 hours, I ended up taking a taxi upon arrival. I tried to order room service for an early breakfast but they were still on the late night menu and could offering me a steak or burger but I could not get a coffee or croissant (no cooking needed) at 5:30 am. I thought that was weird.
Had a long layover at Pudong Airport, we decided to stay and rest at this property for few hours since was only 5 minutes away from the airport, it was a great decision.
A good choice of airport hotel
An excellent choice for a hotel close to Pudong airport. It is clean and comfortable with a good breakfast and the restaurant has a range of choices for dinner. We have returned 4 times and have been happy with each visit.
English is very bad for waitress. When I was in restaurant, I asked in English. She didn’t understand.
Good hotel close to Pudong Airport
Good place to stay if flying out of Shanghai Pudong airport. Room was very comfortable and the service excellent. Hotel was a good price.
We stayed at the hotel for one night because its location is close to the Shanghai Pudong Airport. We arrived after midnight, and requested a taxi at 5:30 am to go to the airport for a 8 am flight to Australia. The desk staff were friendly and helpful. We are non-smokers and react poorly to smoke and smoking odors. We were told the room was non-smoking, but the smoke odor in the room was suffocating, and we were too tired to complain at 1 am. We woke at 3 am and couldnt breathe or sleep, so we left our room at 4 am and waited outside until our taxi came at 5:30 am. The room had obviously been smoked in before, and the air conditioning was so poor, it was pulling smoke into the room from elsewhere. The room was clean, but unfortunately the air quality overrode any other good qualities about the room.
A great choice for a hotel close to Pudong
We have returned to this hotel several times since it is close to Pudong airport. We were completely satisfied with our stay on this trip - we used it both on arrival and before our departure. Our rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice. We ate dinner in the restaurant and were pleased with our food.
Great stay
I was double billed by them and you! I had to pay them as they didn't have my reservation for two nights that was paid in advance to you in the amount of 230$. I want a full refund as i had to pay them again by Visa for over 200$. What happened? I want to understand what went wrong on your end with this.
Standard Room was ok. Comfortable bed. Fairly elegant decor in public areas. Breakfast buffet was typical and uninspired. Japanese restaurant in hotel was very good and reasonably priced.
We stayed for just one night as we had a very early flight from Pudong Airport. The room was very comfortable, great bed and bedding top of the line! The shuttle to the airport was free and took about 10-15 minutes. The staff was very accommodating, restaurants had food for any taste.
Nice room, close to airport, booked shuttle only
Just an overnight layover. Note that the shuttle is reservation only and you cannot just hop on at regularly scheduled times.
it is one of the most fancy rooms I have ever stayed. great experience. :) definitely will come back. the only concern is wifi. not that great.
Room air conditioning didn’t get colder and it was extremely hot outside and in. Asked them to repair but they didn’t change anything. Chinese restaurant expensive. Most breakfast food was cold.
This hotel was a beauty. I purposely booked an airport hotel as I only wanted a short shuttle bus trip to the airport. I was stunned when I stepped into the lobby as it was absolutely ostentatious and I loved it. And the price for this hotel was excellent. The room was just as nice although Westerners aren't really used to the idea of a glass wall between the showering area and the sleeping area (although the central panel was frosted and you could add "frosting" to the panel on either side of the fully frosted area). The buffet breakfast offerings were fresh, varied and delicious. Having two breakfast coupons would be ideal if two people were booking and staying in the room as opposed as to only one coupon per room. But this is a small thing as the overall stay was excellent. And the staff were so pleasant and helpful to a foreigner. The hotel's opulence is in direct contrast with its surrounding area so don't get worried as you make your way from the closest train station.
very very good hotel.
good bed, clean room, free shuttlebus with 15 min to the airport. very very good hotel.
Room full of gadgets. Great value for money
Possibly the best hotel I've stayed in in term of room features. Great value for money and close to Disney. Taxi costs roughly £4 each way. The area is a bit rural but nothing a taxi ride can't fix. Only stayed 2 nights so didn't make use of pool or spa.
beautiful and modern with elegance . This was so much more than I expected
Convenient to Pudong airport. CLean and comfortable.
Executive lounge was not operative which was a big set back. Alternate arrangement was not made. No discount in price was offered due to a promised facility not available. Check in was extremely slow.
For an international hotel no one could peak english which was not good at all. The area was horrific.
Improve communication skills
The location is excellent for pudong airport but the taxi drivers do need the name of the hotel in Chinese to locate it. The hotel is well appointed and good shower. The only downside is the poor communication at the front desk resulting my being told that the shuttle bus to airport was at 8am but no bus appeared and i had to get a taxi in a hurry.
Be careful, they are tricky.
We booked for two adults. The breakfast was supposed to be included in the package. Included was only for one person and they charged us $25 per day. $25 breakfast was even expensive in the US. We ended up paying additional US$100 for four nights stay. We should have stayed at different hotel.
Terrible service in front desk. The manager and staffs are not professional at all and have bad attitude. My room was booked with breakfast in Expedia, but they do not honor my breakfast, even ask me to contact Expdia for breakfast when I was in shanghai , it means I need to make a international long distance call for my breakfast. Ridiculous
The hotel staff was excellent! The front desk assisted when we first arrived and were having issues with our taxi driver. The room was huge! All around a great experience!
Very comfortable and spacious room. Bed was nice. Location is not the best.
A satisfactory stay
The hotel was quite close to Pudong airport, which was convenient for an overnight transit stay. There’s a shopping mall close by with restaurants on the top floor, so there are a lot of choices. Our room had a great view and very nice, except for the fact that the a/c could only be adjusted by a few degrees. All hotels in China invariably provide a heavy blanket, so it’s difficult to get a good night’s sleep without waking up in the middle of the night to either kick off the blanket or cover yourself again after cooling off for a bit. Same with this hotel. Breakfast was included but nothing exceptional. Service was not up to par, but we are not complaining. This hotel seems to be quite popular with guests from western countries.
Third time staying before flying out.
Very nice hotel for the price.
Great hotel close to the airport. Rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. We had lunch in the 2nd floor restaurant and the food was excellent.
Royal International - make a busy visit more relax
Nice clean hotel with great staff. Great place to put your feet up at the end of a busy day
Nice hotel close to the airport
We arrived early evening and were only staying for one night in-between flights. Hotel is very clean, all the mod cons, helpful friendly staff. The area surrounding the hotel is a bit run down which is why I would give it 4 stars instead of 5, wouldn't have felt safe walking around at night. But the hotel staff inside we lovely and friendly. For some reason you only get one breakfast included in your booking even if there are two of you staying - bit weird, so you have to pay for another if you both want to eat. Gym and Pool aren't 24 hours so we didn't get a chance to look at them.
Great hotel
Great hotel, excellent rooms, great breakfast, can’t fault the hotel, just the location is quite far out from shanghai but that’s my fault for not looking into it properly. The hotel is like a jewel amongst rocks in the area. Happy with my stay though and it’s only 10-15 min walk from metro if needed.
Very short overnight stay, but everything in and about the hotel was great - staff, room cleanliness and size, bathroom, restaurants. Happy to recommend
Very nice hotel 15 min from airport
Very clean and modern close to airport for shanghai. Taxi was 46 yuan with three bags two carryons car seat and stroller three people. Many tried to coerce us to use their van service for $400 yuan. Many small restaurants near hotel at chinese prices. Very modern . No complaints. Free shuttle back to airport. Seems like no hotels will pick u up at airport.
The Price is Right! beautiful hotel! staff is nice! I felt like I was at home being taken care of, in a Five Star hotel! Beautiful experience
poor service and bad location
Hotel is quite a way from the city so need to get taxi, if trying tio get from central Shanghai number of taxi drivers refused to travel that far or tried to haggle over price! Hotel is said to be child friendly which we wanted as main reason for choosing was proximity to Disney. However, the rooms are not child friendly, we saw only one other child staying, rest were tour groups and business men. There is also a KTV bar on ground floor complex which is a bit intimidating if coming back at night with children. Room was clean but air con was useless, unless you are looking to sleep in sauna. Hotel was meant to be smoke free, but guests were smoking on our floor. Finally, our advice, if you do stay don't try and get resort tickets from hotel concierge!
Very nice hotel with good breakfast
I spent a night in this hotel to catch a flight the next day. The room is very clean and spacious, bed is comfortable. There is a good selection for the breakfast and the free shuttle bus to the airport is punctual and convinient. Overall experience was great however if you want to visit the city, it is too far from the city centre.
Great hotel but far from airport
We did not realize we should reserve the shuttle a day in advance so we had to hussle for a cab. Driver did not speak any English but accepted 20$. Hotel staff were very helpful once we found someone who spoke good English. Nice little lounge for a drink. Would definitely stay there again now that I understand the rules
Overall good, would be good to have a shuttle to get to downtown as it is a little bit far from the subway station (15 minutes walk) and subway service from downtown to Chuan Sha station is not available after ten o'clock pm.
Not come back again
Luxury in an unusual place.
Hotel is a luxury hotel with a few quirks. Buffet was better than typical, room very nice, roomy.
Decent hotel near PVG airport
One night stay for transit: this hotel is about 20 min drive from T2 Pudong airport. Nice clean hotel with spacious bathroom and good shower. Breakfast and airport shuttle included. However the shuttle only runs to 9 pm and need to book 24 hrs in advance. Smoking smells in the hotel.
Above excellent
Super Hotel with nice people.
Toilet is dirty.
Clean, modern, very well appointed rooms with full-size bath. 20 minutes drive from the airport.
Shuttle bus or not?
Extremely fast and easy check in. Shuttle bus only went to Disneyland twice a day and we had already missed it. Part of the reason for stay, ah well, what can you do. Breakfast was just okay, nothing special. The area had some things to do approximately 1km down the road.
clean and friendly
nice service great staff . A+
Comfortable hotel
A good hotel, ideally located for PVG airport. Although a bit out from the city. The rooms are very comfortable, although the various switches scattered around the room can take some figuring out.
I was very pleased with the hotel.
I was pleased with the hotel. The room was beautiful and they had excellent food in the restaurant. I was a little concerned by the neighborhood as I was taken by taxi, but was very pleased when I got to the hotel.
Excellent. Very good amenities. I would recommend to all travellers
Missed flight stay
Amazingly good hotel. Only disappointment is breakfast not being included, which is customary for hotels in China. Otherwise, great place to stay if you miss your flight.
Good airport option
Good airport option , deplorable shuttle Nice, large room. We arrived late and tried to have dinner at the Japanese restaurant on site. Service was quite mediocre, as was the food. We used the shuttle to go to the airport: no space to put your luggage but on your knees, old vehicle.
Excellent service plus great comfortable hotel. Maybe the western restaraunt needs more variety western food.
Poor Value
I picked this hotel as it has a free shuttle to PVG and supposedly an indoor swimming pool. I needed a place for one night prior to flying home. The hotel feels old and run down. The pool isn’t big enough to swim laps. The Qube hotel just 1.5k down the road is same price category, has a better location and is noticeably nicer.
Okay but not what I expected
The staff does not speak English- there will be times when no one speaks any at all. The rooms had this weird smell, even in linen. The location is okay- 500m from people square station but the hotel itself is in a dark area. Taxi drivers often didn’t know where the hotel was. The staff could have been kinder and more helpful. The laundry is SO expensive.
Excellent hotel, will stay there again.
Very good stay. Hotel is super clean and comfortable. Staffs are very friendly. Loved the air filteration inside the room for fresh air. Enjoyed the free suana and massage chair at the roof top. Will definitely stay there again.
close to airport; helpful staff
Room is renovated and clean; very quite and comfortable. The hotel is close to the airport and offer free drop-off. Very helpful and friendly staff.
Not that near to Metro, booked for 3 person and only provide one double bed. Need to pay for extra bed.
Our happy stay in Shanghai .
Top class room with high specification facilities.Very helpful staff who made us feel at ease and happy .
Excellent Service and very friendly staff
The staff who work here are excellent and they make you feel welcome and always helpful. The hotel is amazing and the food is great,
Smart clean hotel "close" to airport.
I checked in late and was upgraded to a superior room. The bellboy said "we've given you the first room on this floor" - what I didn't realise until I'd gone to bed was that the lift shaft was on the other side of my room, and I could hear the lifts going up and down. Whilst not intrusive it was noticeable - like a distant plane taking off. Didn't stop me sleeping. Don't kid yourself that this hotel is adjacent to the airport. Its a 20 minute taxi ride. I didn't get a chance to have breakfast, dimmer or use the gym etc.
Good transit hotel
Good hotel close to Pudong airport. Free shuttle to the airport, but very unclear where to find the shuttle TO the hotel. Had to take taxi and was charged far more than proper for a 20 minute ride. The hotel is very nice. Good size rooms with over-sized bathroom. Only downside was the staff (other than front desk) spoke virtually no English. Very challenging unlike what you find in the city proper. Overall, if I were transiting I would stay here again.
I only had one full day here and the Concierge was very helpful in finding me a tour for the day.
Gym staff not friendly
I stayed there for 5 days. The room desing is great. It is little bit far from city and need a taxi in and out. The gym instructor occupy the equipment that I want and chatted with other staff to complain about his manager. He definitely was aware that I was waiting next to him. But he totally ignore that. Bad experience.
Good value
The room was clean and in good repair. Comfortably furnished with a good desk and coffee/tea station. I found the bed a bit hard but that is a personal thing. Very few employees speak English which made it a challenge for me and although a business center is advertised, it was not open so I could not print my boarding pass.
Nice amenities, very well thought out for the guest's experience and comfort. Would stay again!
Quick stopover
We arrived late and left early, so we didn't have much time to enjoy the hotel or to experience the surrounding area. The hotel itself is beautiful. We were upgraded to a suite, which was very nice (we had reserved two rooms and were upgraded to two suites). However, some incidentals were over-looked. For example: there were no extra linens for the sofa (we had three people and were supposed to have an extra bed in the room), there was no way to make coffee in the room, there was no soap or hand towels in the half-bath (that's right, the suite has 1 1/2 baths!). It was too late for us to bother with asking for those things, so I can't say how they would have handled it. The main bathroom was super-plush. We enjoyed our short stay. The staff spoke limited English. The bellhop spoke the best English and was our contact for reserving the airport shuttle. There is an airport shuttle, but you have to call ahead and reserve it. We had our Chinese tour guide call for us and arrange for our pick-up at the airport. I'm not sure if we could have done that on our own, but as it worked out, they sent a van just for us. We told them when we needed to be back in the morning and they were ready and waiting for us the next morning.
decent hotel near PVG
There are not many good hotels near PVG when you have a layover. this hotel is about 20 minutes from the airport by taxi. costs around 100yens. The hotel supposedly has a shuttle , but it is only convenience for going to the airport. make sure to inform them one day ahead of your departure time. the hotel is a "Chinese 5 star" , the non-smoking room smells of cigarette. the breakfast not so good. the hotel is in a residential neighborhood, and the way from airport is scary at night!!!! Use this hotel if you are on layover in Shanghai for only one night.
Great stay! No complaints
The hotel was very clean, everyone was friendly, most spoke English fairly well so communication was not an issue. The food was also delicious! Also, very convenient location.
Great hotel
Great, sad we slept through breakfast // airport shuttle is great
Excellent hotel value for money. But a bit hard to get too

Very comfortable and clean, with a great shuttle service to the airport
