Top!
Everyone who works at The Royal Hotel was very friendly and helpful..... Really great people! The location of this property is perfect in Nimes, everything is walkable from here. Beautiful city!!
We had a spacious room. Wonderfully helpful staff. Ideal location. No elevator.
Great location, friendly staff, good breakfast, good value!
Love the vibe.
Loved the room and the general atmosphere of the hotel. The staff were always welcoming and positive in their approach to my family. I would love to return to The Royal if I was ever in Nîmes again.
Cannot fault the location but that’s where it ends. Looking at other reviews a lot depends on your room. Ours was the broom cupboard. So small the door hit the bed when you walked in. Staff initially friendly but when we found out the Festival was on and the hotel was hosting a party they became very unfriendly! They’d known about the event 3 days before but hadn’t thought to inform us. If they had we would have cancelled. No chance of a room on the other side as fully booked. Expedia was useless too. They gave us ear plugs - marvellous! No free breakfast or any other basic compensation to make us happy. Manager couldn’t care less. No lift by the way, young man helped us with them but no offer to bring them down on the day we left. Hotel a mess due to all the work going into the party and restaurant closed.Shower broken - nothing done about it
Nice traditional Hotel
Stayed here for one night on our way home from the south. Lovely central location, friendly staff, buzzy restaurant, a/c in the room - though room 10 has v.small windows!
Being a 3 star it was excellent. The staff very friendly and helpful. Although restaurant under our window it was very quiet. Close to all tourist attractions and opposite the Temple. The continental breakfast was very good. Good value for money.
Short but welcome stay!
This hotel is in an interesting and historic building. The room was small but had all we needed. The ensuite shower room was new and pleasant, and overall they had made the most that could possibly be made of the space! The staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, even though i have many allergies, and as we had an early taxi, which they booked for us at short notice, we appreciated the quick and efficient service. Our main difficulty was that due to a train delay of over 2 1/2 hours, on Labour Day, the front reception was closed when we eventually arrived. However an arrangement was in place where we were able to access the key code to the hotel and our room, and paid in the morning. There did not seem to be a lift, which was difficult for one member of our party with ann injured ankle. But overall, we loved our stay, with a fab feature being the view of the Maison Carrée from the dining room window!
Lovely property in a good central area. Nice big comfortable room which was very quiet.
Not worth the money
The location is great, the staff members are friendly. Stayed in room 2, which is over the reception/ bar payment area / staircase, the noise was dreadful every night, that went on quite late, as my bedroom was over that area. You could also hear every noise from the room above. Couldn't turn the air conditioner turned on despite asking quite a few times. A staff member did try, but wasn't successful. Then said it was too cold to have it on. It was 26 degrees. Quite a few mosquitoes in the room too. Shower in 2nd bedroom was hit and miss with the temperature of the water. After complaining about the noise (really couldn't sleep!) I was told they'd look into getting me another room which would have been nice if they'd actually told me if they had one spare or not. No one came back to me on it. And reception "closes" between 7pm and 8pm. So over all not an enjoyable stay and definitely not worth the money we spent. I did ask reception if the owners or manager could contact me but have not heard back as of yet. If there's a reply to this here, I expect it to be the usual auto reply they leave. Wouldn't it be great if they would indeed "progress and improve the experience of our future customers" It really took the goodness out if the holiday. "Thank you for your feedback, it is important for us because it allows us to progress and improve the experience of our future customers. Looking forward to having you with us next time. Sincerely, The reception."
Staff was over the top friendly.
Arty hotel well located for the main attractions, canal and gardens. Reception staff were most helpful and friendly. Excellent restaurant too although run separately from the hotel. Garage parking under the plaza just outside. Lift access to street level but note no lift in the hotel. Contact hotel in advance to book parking at reduced rate.
Great staff
Terrific staff, very friendly and accomodating.
Loved the eclectic decor, the fact that is walking distance from all of the major attractions of Nîmes and there is an underground parking ($) right below the hotel.
Great stay. Location was fantastic and the hotel staff were extremely friendly. The decor is quirky and modern.
Central location, but hard to access via auto. Must first find and park in adjacent undrground garage, after negotiating one-way streets.
Great location
Nice hotel and great value in the centre of the town. Easy walking distance to most sights. Great bar and terrace in a nice square.
Lovely location, shame there was no lift.
Nice hotel at a fair price
The photos of the hotel are better than the real thing, but it's in a great location. Parking is a snap in the immediately adjacent underground lot. There's an Elevator from the parking lot, but not in the hotel, but staff was willing to help with luggage. The Lobby is disjointed, sharing a wait staff station from the connected restaurant, but that's easily overlooked by the helpfulness of the staff. There is ongoing adjacent road construction, but access to the hotel is maintained.
Charming surprisr
Unexpectedly charming, spacious room! Fantastic location with great surrounding restaurants.
Downtown Hotel Stay
This hotel was very comfortable, but was undergoing some renovations during our stay. We were not alerted of these renovations and was not compensated for the mess. It was still a pleasant stay and great location in downtown Nimes.
Hotel located in a great location. Need to create the hotel parking
art culture style -superb locale
its style and superb location make it 4 star anyday -easy to get around -chic punk artistic décor -good food -quiet place -no complaits -the place de assess is a gem of a space itself -loads of gastronomy and culture all around -----
Great value for money
lovely hotel for the price. Room was clean and comfortable
Good hotel for short stay
Stayed one night here. Very central location. Rooms are a little old with minor updates. Shower is hand held and dated. Overall comfortable and what we needed for the night.
Helpful staff, great location
I was attending a wedding and needed an ironing board, however the hotel couldn't provide me with one, but were happy for me to use the laundry room ironing facilities. The staff spoke good English and happily helped with taxi booking and directions to various places. The hotel is very close to all the main visitor attractions, shops and places to eat/drink. The only down side I'd say is that the room was very small and there was no shower screen (possibly a french thing) with the shower head being on the taps which made washing a bit tricky! Other than that it was reasonably priced and clean.
Perfect location in Nimes. Beside car park and city centre. No lift, so you need to be able to deal with your luggage. Small room and bathroom - fine for one or two nights.
awesome location
a lovely old building in a great location beside a lovely square, the restaurant attached to the hotel is great for a drink and has a great tapas menu. enjoyed our stay.
Terrific location, great price
You could hardly ask for a better location, right on a beautiful Square, half block from an old Roman temple, and a few blocks from the coliseum. We got a beautiful, comfortable and spacious corner room looking out over the square. The hotel staff was friendly and efficient although the night manager did not speak English. The hotel restaurant had one of the best lunches that we had on our trip. All this for €59 a night off-season. Parking was not included, another €17, but was right under the hotel. No elevator, so you have to haul your luggage up the stairs. But overall, we would highly recommend Hotel Royale.
The room was small and not like the pictures shown. Bathroom had no heat and was cold. Disappointed.
Friendly and helpful service and good location
Good location and very friendly and helpful service. Arrived on new years day and could not find a restaurant for dinner - the receptionist tried to help us by calling and checking if the restaurants were open/available. Also bumped us up to a bigger room, which was much appreciated. Restaurant at the hotel was good as well
Nice , affordable hotel in the downtown area
It was a very convenient stay; the staff was pleasing and cordial. Even though there was no parking dedicated to the hotel, the presence of an underground public parking right next to it was very convenient and sufficient. The room was a bit small but it is almost inevitable in those old building. the room had an old ceiling fan right on top of the bed somewhat wobbly that only had one speed (fast) , so it was a little uncomfortable to fall asleep with the fan on.
Excellent hotel!
Very satisfied with all aspects except the size of our room. I could not use the basin in the bathroom if the door was closed. We were given the option of a large standard room without air conditioning or a smaller room with AC - July in Nimes, no contest! It would be good if all the rooms had AC.Everything else was great, the staff were lovely and breakfast outside was perfect. The location could not be better, in the center of the city 200 meters from the Maison Carre!
well located - very sall room
nice hotel, with very small rooms, though. it is well located from where most places can be reached by foot. tourism ofice is just around the corner. internet didnt work in the room, in the lobby only.
Royal
Hotel was nice and convenient. Get your reservations early for dinner, it gets busy!
Hôtel central et accueillant
Accueil sympathique. Chambre très confortable. Très central au cœur de la ville
Dom
Tres bon acceuil, personnel tres sympa. A recommander.
Parfait, personnel sympathique, accueillant.
Nice Hotel in a lovely central square.
Lovely hotel in a great location to enjoy Nimes. Standard room is pretty tight at 18m2 but has a big bathroom.
Situated in the millde of i all
We stayed two nights at the Royal Hotel which is situated in the centre of Nimes close to all attractions. A very nice airconditined room. Small but ok bathroom. Very good french breakfast. The Royal does not have any parking but offers discounts for parking in the public underground parking house right next door to the hotel. Very helpful and nice staff. Wi-fi was not very fast, but ok.
Billig, men dårlig.
Lovely hotel on a quiet square. Great location. Friendly staff
