This is a very fancy hotel, and the geography is beautiful. The staff is solid, but they cater to the owners of the villas located on site…not the hotel guests. There was also loud music until late at night two nights we were there, once until 4:00am.

This is a beautiful property. The pool and beach areas are well maintained and the landscaping is gorgeous. The room we had in the pineapple house was well appointed. The amenities were very nice. I was unfortunately disappointed by the service. Our driver from the airport took a detour in route to run an errand, which was alarming. Most of the dining staff seemed unconcerned with serving us, the only exception being Kenneth in the main dining area, who was wonderful. The beach bartender was downright rude. I was also disappointed by the food quality. It was expensive, but just not very good. I also should mention the resort is very family friendly, which some may not mind, but there were lots of small children and it’s not my preference when I’m on this sort of trip. There is some sort of bar across the water from the property with loud music, which kept us up til after midnight our final night, which was also not great. Overall, I would not recommend and would not stay again.

Round Hill is spectacular. The property is beautiful. The staff are attentive and friendly. The amenities are high quality and spacious so you can have privacy and your own space. The food and food service is the highest quality.

Round Hill is a magical place with excellent service. Customer service is wonderful and the property is par to none. Only request would be for more food variety, especially vegetarian / vegan options (although they were very accommodating when asked for more option while we were there). We will definitely be coming back! Thank you for an unforgettable stay!

This hotel is amazing all the way from the pool boy David to our driver Andrew to bartender Larry and ottis and the front desk Tiffany. Me and my girlfriend picked this place to celebrate my 30th and they exceeded any expectations I had I felt like I was at home. Without a doubt I’ll be returning here.

The people and the environment was absolutely breathtaking

This unique resort exceeds all your expectations. The service is beyond compare. They genuinely care about your comfort and needs and are always happy and courteous. The food is excellent and live music and dancing every night. One band was better than another. The landscaping is worthy of a botanical garden. The water is calm and infinity pools just beautiful. A complete resort. This is my second trip and it won’t be my last.

Wonderful stay! The staff is welcoming and has a strong attention to detail. The food excellent. If you are staying in the hotel rooms the all inclusive meal plan is the way to go, however you have to know to ask for it at check-in. The tennis lessons, spa and glass bottom boat tour are all worth checking out. We plan to return again and again!

Terrific property, service and dining. Major upgrade at check in to Villa. Staff, particularly Kingsley, friendly and efficient. Food exceptional with theme nights including wonderful beach barbecue. Beach area good with bar service, water sports and plenty of sun and shade. COVID procedures appropriate. COVID tests available on site for US return. Great place highly recommended!!

Superb! Even as the world was dealing with a global epidemic, this resort did not miss a beat~ a well oiled machine! The grounds are stunning and the staff is warm, gracious and professional; many loyal staff members have been with the resort for decades which is a good sign! Food was delish and the theme dinners and entertainment were creative, special and authentic. Round Hill is old Jamacian charm with understated luxury~ Ya mon!

Amazing!!!! Nothing more to say!

The grounds were lush and well maintained. The adult only area at the spa and gym was a nice touch and having a better beach access there would have been nice. The villa was lovely and laid out well. There could have been better communication regarding the staff hours and responsibilities. Finally while the local food was delicious, we would have enjoyed having a larger variety of options.

A pristine property that is the definition of luxury and relaxation. I would recommend this property to anyone traveling to Jamaica.

We stayed in a standard oceanfront room with a patio which was a lovely room with all you need. The property and amenities are excellent with beautiful manicured gardens, friendly staff and a brilliant location. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a top quality resort by the sea.

Always love this hotel and villas.

Ultimate getaway resort. Secluded and luxurious beach, pool, and spa. Excellent on site fitness center. Villas are incredible, but smaller rooms are nice too. Lavish bathrooms, They filmed MTV’s Real World/Road Rules Challenge Battle of the Sexes here in 2002 (can be found on YouTube). The resort looks exactly the same today.

First class property that exceeds all expectations.

The definition of relaxing

By far one of my favorite places I’ve stayed. The staff was so kind and helpful, making our time there truly relaxing. The rooms were beautiful with gorgeous views. I promise, you won’t be disappointed with your visit.

Love the smaller intimate scale, everything you need or want is at hand.

We loved that it was secluded, you felt the tranquility. Loved the scenary, all the local greenery, trees, the rooms were vintage, it fit the ambiance. Totally pleased.

Love the resort and staff but other issues

Loves the resort. Bed was very uncomfortable, like sleeping on a board. We were not happy that, to arrange a late checkout because of departing flight, we had to wait 1 hr before regular checkout time to find out if we could get late checkout! That was too late to take advantage of - ridiculous, since the resort is less than half full. And food prices/tax/tip is way overpriced for what we received. Shouldn’t cost $41 for 2 margaritas...

- incredibly beautiful grounds and cottage with several outdoor seating areas, beautifully decorated, private pool etc - very courteous and helpful staff - nice beach area and beach bars - would be good to not have cleaning staff arriving and hanging out until afternoon. Lose privacy and quiet when several workstaff are around the room and then cleaning room while we are there - Hotel should disclose that breakfast is for charge, ask you to order etc but only later do out discover the steep fees - main restaurant is exorbitant but mediocre. Minimum $40 for entree plus a side then fees and expenses comes to $50. Maybe I would pay that at a Michelin star restaurant but this food was bland, cold and not special at all. More dining options would really help improve the resort especially given the limited dining options nearby and difficulty of getting a normal cab (hotel arranged taxis also exorbitant) - gym and exercise classes are fantastic. Donovan a great instructor and a high point of the resort. Jackie very friendly and helpful.

loved the Villas and private pools, did not like the lack of privacy. There seemed to be someone lurking around all the time from 7:30 am to dusk.

It was an amazing property. Service is ok, for what you pay I would not expect to hear cars all day. Mosquitoes are a disaster and they don’t provide cream. Everything you order requires you to sign a ticket with a 28% fee plus they ask for tip. ;( Would not go back... go to Jamaica inn

Beautiful, serene setting. Excellent staff. Feels like a secret hidden gem. Room was well appointed but showing a little wear and tear, although nothing that bothered me at all. Hope to come back again next year. Incredible intimate boutique experience. The opposite of a mega resort all inclusive.

The property was close to MB airport, but tucked away so it felt like a true escape. The grounds are absolutely georgeous and the staff is the real gem of this location - best service I’ve ever experienced.

This is a uniquely beautiful and sympathetic property which cultivates an effortlessly luxurious atmosphere. The facilities are elegant and old fashioned but all the amenities are state of the art. Staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful; we loved our cottage and the food, especially the breakfast terrace. Spa and gym are located in this incredible garden with ocean views. But being a family with a young child, nothing beats the child friendliness of Round Hill.

This is truly a one-of-a-kind place. Everything feels so thoughtful and cared for. And the staff is truly extraordinary. You definitely have to go and say hello to Kingsley.

Always wanted to stay at Round Hill. My sisters and had a Villa suite with an amazing staff. Jennifer & Keisha. I can’t say enough about the people at Round Hill. It is the people that make Jamaica truly amazing. I lived here as a child and Round Hill has sparked my love of this place. We plan to return next year.

Beautiful people, place, food. Clean and luxurious. Villa was gorgeous with a stunning pool. Indoor shower with birds of paradise growing in the shower. Lovely plants everywhere. Hard working happy staff.

Nice but

This hotel is ideal for people wanting an escape from life. It gives serenity, quiet peace and calm without the masses of the other factory resorts. There are not a ton of activities, but I believe that's the point; relaxation. There's more personal attention but you definitely pay the pricetag. The buffet for breakfast is not extensive but several things things are freshly made to order from French toast, pancakes, frittata and more. The rooms are spacious and clean. Thought it was too far from town but again, if you're looking for a getaway, this is it.

June Couples Trip

The resort is absolutely beautiful. It reminded us of the resort on Dirty Dancing in the Caribbean! The resort is very laid back and relaxing, there are not even TVs in the rooms, which was fine by us. Kingsley, the concierge was great! I would highly recommend for a couple's trip, but we may bring our kids back next time.

Practically perfect family trip

My husband and our 15 year old son just returned from Round Hill. We stayed in the Pineapple House with a view of the trees and ocean that I would describe as breathtaking. I couldn't get enough of it and pictures don't do it justice. Note: We are pretty seasoned travelers. My husband and children have taken numerous trips. I sit here and try to think of one single honest complaint of Round Hill and realize that there truly is nothing I would change, folks. The service is second to none, every single employee greeted us warmly all the time, heck they even had left us snacks and drinks in the refrigerator when we arrived later than expected due to missing our plane (entirely our fault, but the RH staff quickly made us forget our woes). The food was delicious, and even my teenager drank the delicious blue mountain coffee every day. This trip exceeded our expectations. We almost never return to a destination, possessing an eagerness to travel to as many different places as we can afford. But we are already planning our next trip to Mo Bay and we will be staying at the amazing Round Hill.

Inconsistent Service & Several Hiccups

The service at Round Hill was inconsistent. A bartender accused me of stealing a $12 drink and yelled at me across the beach in doing so. After I spoke to management, he apologized for wrongfully accusing me and comped my drink, but regardless, it was pretty humiliating for their staff to make a scene in front of other resort guests. We booked an ATV experience and were told to be at the lobby at 10:05 AM for our bus departure. We arrived at 10:05 on the dot only to find that our bus had left us. It was a hiccup that should not have happened. We told concierge we wanted to visit MB's cultural center/museum Monday morning. They suggested that we take the hotel shuttle to the city center, which departed at 10 AM on Monday. We hopped in the shuttle and drove to the city center only to find that the cultural center is closed on Mondays -- another example of a hiccup that shouldn't have happened. Our room was spacious and boasted great ocean views, but it was loud. We could hear our neighbors talking and making phone calls. The villa next door hired a live band late Saturday afternoon that started playing loud music and woke us from our Saturday afternoon naps.Our proximity to the tennis courts also wasn't ideal as the courts were quite loud in the morning. The food was fantastic, spa was lovely and the beach was great. But given the inconsistent service, loud villa and hiccups that did not make for a seamless vacation, we will not be returning.

A wonderful place to get away

Loved the options of water sports and also being able to just relax on the beach. Food is great- they keep the menu interesting and there is always something going on. The staff are so friendly and it really feels like paradise.

Great Place to Vacation

This is a fantastic resort with great efforts by the staff to make your stay very welcome. The food at this Resort is fantastic this morning a butler and a chef came to my villa to cook breakfast for me and my family everything was cooked to perfection. The resort has many activities from watersports to tennis and is also nearby excursions that you can take in the Jamaica area. One caveat the food at this Resort is very expensive.

Outstanding service and friendly staff

This is a gem of a resort if you are looking for quietly elegant surroundings and excellent but unobtrusive service. The staff is so welcoming, genuinely takes interest and remembers your preferences. We stayed in villa 22 which was perfect for this mother and daughter. The veranda looked out over the water, had comfortable sofas and a table and chairs where we had a home cooked breakfast every morning thanks to our housekeeper Mergow. The bathroom was spacious with a lovely bathtub and separate shower. The bedroom was large and comfortable and had an additional little indoor living room. The food was great with specialty nights, especially good is the Friday night Jamaican food and entertainment. Oh, and don’t miss the daily complimentary high tea served at 4 on the sea terrace. The ELEMIS spa was delightful and an introduction, for us, to a British luxury line of all natural skin products. I could go on and on but if you are looking for a resort The service whose staff are genuinely friendly and the grounds, beach and accommodations are immaculate choose Round Hill.

Fantastic Place!!

Best vacation, best stay, best staff!!! Already planning next trips back in October and again in January. First time at Round Hill, now my stay of choice. I highly recommend staying here to be pampered and ultimate comfort.

Number one hotel in Jamaica

If you don’t like all inclusive factory-like hotels, Round Hill hotel is perfect for you! We stayed at an ocean view villa with a private pool and had a cook, a cleaning lady, a serving lady and a gardener working for us 24/7. We had breakfast in our living room with ocean view every day and went to restaurants for dinners. It was a true paradise experience!

Elegant, serene, beautiful

Villa 16 was outstanding! Exceeded my expectations. Staff was very attentive, warm and welcoming and made us feel special. Our daughter had a blast in the private villa pool and included water sports. Villa views were spectacular. We will definitely return, our stay was magical!

Resort Does Not Live Up to 5 Star Reputation

It started with hotel room with air conditioning that did not work and it was a steam bath. Then room service wine came with wine glasses but maid took away. Second request for wine glasses not delivered by room service. Dinner of July 4 featured a limited menu and poor execution by wait staff. Let me sum it up without particulars. Staff had no clue on how to wait tables, what a Manhattan was and served bread after dinner. Kitchen staff sent rare lamb chops instead of medium in part because butchered unevenly. Normally would return but service was so bad just gave up. We will give them a passing grade 4 based on other dining experiences during our stay but definitely not five star experience during four night stay. For the most part it was unknowledgeable staff and under staffed that led to some seriously poor execution at the Round Hill Resort.

Lovely rooms. Plantation shutters opening up to the ocean. This is an independent property with character. Sometimes it's nice to get away from the chain resorts and go somewhere which has character and is individual.

For a resort of this quality the shampoo and soap were of poor quality,also the hair dryer was from the turn of the century. The band was exceptional, gym exceptional.

Best upscale resort in Montego Bay.

If you are looking for a drunken spring break party with bad food and cheap liquor than this is not the place for you to stay. But if you are looking for a spectacular resort that frequently hosts royalty, presidents, and A list celebrities than welcome home. The photos on Expedia do not do this resort justice. From the moment you drive through the guarded entrance to this meticulously manicured plantation you realize you have arrived to a true luxury paradise. The resort consists of 27 privately owned villas (more like mansions) that are situated on the hillside overlooking a private bay. Each villa has their own staff that will attend to your every need while there. Whether it is making you fresh squeezed orange juice in the morning or preparing a gourmet private dinner they will truly insure that you are spoiled while there. Each villa has its own private pool and secluded lounge area making it possible to never leave your own private resort. But the real beauty of Round hill is appreciated once you head down to the main grounds that are sprawled across a former 100 acre plantation. Whether it is relaxing with a cocktail on the private beaches or strolling through the jungle trails Round Hill has every amenity that you could possibly want. The staff throughout the resort is attentive and polite. They will make each guest feel like family whether it is your first visit or you are a villa owner.

Incredible hotel, phenomenal people...superb stay!

Round Hill is an superb resort with incredibly attentive and kind staff. The private beach is incredible and the room was both elegant and casual at the same time. The view from our room was gorgeous. Our daughter is both allergic to many things and she is also celiac and Chef Godfrey and the entire staff outwayed themselves to accommodate her needs at any meal. Great family vacation! Incredible hotel!

Paradise

I have stayed at a lot of resorts but nothing has EVER compared to the Roundhill. The staff, service, location, facilities, food and EVERYTHING is perfect. It is truly understated luxury, warm and a slice of paradise!

Great secluded jewel

I spent a magical weekend in this hotel. It was my first time in Jamaica, the experience was so positive I will surely go back. The hotel is located on an isolated hill (hence the name), it is a great location if you are looking for a secluded, quiet, vacation. The place is a good fit both for couples and families.

Most beautiful resort and very accommodating staff!

Beautiful hotel and staff

The hotel looks exactly as pictures. Extremely clean, excellent/authentic Jamaican cuisine. Very tranquil atmosphere and the staff treat you like family. My sister and I were especially taken with Kingsley who welcomed us like family. My only issue was with the shared villa. My expectation was that I'd be able to relax and have complete privacy..walk around in my underwear if I wanted to..or nothing at all :). We rented a beautiful deluxe suite. We didn't know it came with a shared kitchen where your breakfast could be cooked each morning. We ordered breakfast on two mornings..but the other mornings the staff was there cooking for other suites we assume. The kitchen was in the area inclusive of our suite. So we had to be wear robes..be appropriately dressed at all times. After a night of dancing it was hard to sleep in because of the activity in the kitchen. When I return I will stay in a villa that doesn't include a shared kitchen. This way I can relax more..and have complete privacy for my entire stay. I would not recommend a villa with a shared kitchen as there will be activity in that area all morning..with very little privacy. Probably wouldn't be the best villa option for couples..people on their honeymoon. Outside of that I fell in love with this beautiful place. The entire staff was friendly and very welcoming. I will return to Round Hill every year. It was an amazing experience.,

Vila is a must here!

We cannot describe the beautiful view from our villa! it was just spectacular to wake up to the view of the mountain the pool and the bay. the stuff is just wonderful and greed you by your name and your kids name, which is very cool for them to learn everyone's name especially my boys have not an easy name to remember...) Everyone is super friendly and make you feel just like home . We've also got and I'm grade in our villa which is include another room very much needed and we were very happy with that . What make this trip even better is if we can actually use and cook in the kitchen . It was very challenging for us since the boys are very picky eater and the price for food is on the high side . 90$ for breakfast and $150-$200 dinner. The place offer coffe/tea, sandwiches and cookies between 4 and 5 PM! that is a nice complementary touch! Thanks for Mark for handling our special request for our kids in the restaurant . We are definitely want to come back to Avilla but we will make a request to be able to cook for her self We are definitely want to come back to A villa but we will make a request to be able to cook for ourselves. We highly recommend this place the beach is just fantastic for little kids as well as adults .

Beautiful Old world Charm on the beach !

The upgrade to Villa no 12, left us speechless , the views were breadthtaking as was the villa itself , our own private pool was such an added bonus but that's not all breakfast every morning was fabulous which is prepared by two wonderful girls at the villa . The staff go out of their way to please , everyone is friendly truly felt like a home away from home ! Were we in any other room we would have been happy too as the hotel itself just oozes charm and elegance , but yes , our next visit would be a villa , thank you all at Round Hill !

Couples Retreat

Overall I had a wonderful time, however this Property is geared more toward couples it families. If you are with a friend or single you are limited on affordable transportation. Food quality is good, but more choices are needed. On special theme nights no ale-carte menu is availanle which limits your choice of cuisine.

As fans of the Mr and Mrs Smith properties, we always start there when searching for hotels. Round Hill looked quant and had all the amenities we needed - family friendly, spa, beautiful beaches, night time entertainment etc. The staff were friendly, resourceful, and it felt like we had known them for years, likely due to the tenor most of the hold. Our cottage was charming with a lawn for our son to crawl around in, a beautiful view of the sea and a kitchen where Primrose would prepare our breakfast each morning. The spa was exceptional - the serenity you felt once walking on the path towards the adults only area, the view back to the hotel, the treatments and complete fitness center - made me want to spend all morning there. The food was great as well and the hotel did a nice job in changing up the menu / evenings theme. From Jamaican night to farm to table, the food was fresh, local and delicious! We will definitely be returning to Round Hill, the question is how soon can we get back?!?!

Late August 2015 Daddy/Daughter Trip to Jamaica

5 night stay with my daughter. We stayed at Cottage 19-room 82 (1600 sq. foot mini-villa). Nice property/grounds with good pool and beach access plus gym. Hotels.com got us a sweet deal. Breakfast option at cottage was a plus. Overall the food was excellent. Staff (especially Kareen, Angella, and Donette) were very helpful. Kids menu saved $'s on meals for my 11 year old daughter. Overall, a nice visit to Jamaica & Round Hill is a great place to stay.
