Hotelet var et ældre men charmerende hotel - dog trænger det til en meget kærlig hånd - det er meget slidt - men det var rent. Hvis man kun skal sove der og skruerne forventninger helt ned er det ok - så kan man sparer penge ved at vælge dette hotel, beliggenheden er super god lige nær underground og Oxford Street. Amazing location, clean and comfy beds

Great location, staff were lovely. Place is a bit old, but beds were comfy and clean. Cannot complain. Ideal place if you are wanting to sight see and just need a bed for the nights. Great price as well

Not the best unfortunately

Needs a major upgrade inside not cleaners fault they do good job however the rooms are well dated falling apart closed the door and light bulb fell out , plug sockets hanging out of walls no plugs for bath tv remote don’t work beds knackered , receptionist polite and so were the cleaners they just trying to do good out of a run down building until it’s been renovated I wouldn’t stay again

House keeping every other day. Only however when they did go in, they failed to remove the dirty coffee and replace them with clean coffee mugs.

Excellent location, especially for Hyde park and Oxford Street, Marble Arch station is about a 3 minute walk.

Lovely friendly pleasant staff. Shame about the hotel, its very old and in desperate need of updating. The bed was quite comfortable so at least we slept well. Great location with some lovely restaurants around the corner and few minutes walk to Oxford Street & Primark. Nearest tube is Marble Arch, 5 mins walk.

Worst place ever.

This place was dirty. Very old..bed was horrible. Heat not working had to bring in a portable heater still didnt work. Room was dirty. Elevator broke. Has to take the stairs. Slippery steps when it rains. I fell 2x and was hurt. The owner didnt care. Move me to a lower floor room which was worse. Dust on ceiling fans were horrible. Heater were dirty and had cob webs. Very noisy... Do not stay here.

Clean but in need of modernisation

Very basic rooms with small bathroom clean but needs a good lick of paint only 1 plus socket which wasn’t by the bed

The hotel is inexpensive. However you get what you pay for. The mattress was poor, the room was small. The pillow was thin. Great location. Friendly staff.

The Rose Court is an old unique hotel. It has not been updated and is worn out. There is no other way to describe it- the facility has so many a red as needing improvement/ repair/updating. The bathroom was just deplorable. The staff are long time employees and are very nice. This hotel is now on my do not stay list.

Could do with a bit of a face lift. Bit dated.

This is an ancient & faded hotel; like something from the 1950’s. But it’s very convenient location for central London. My room was tired and tatty but had clean bedding and a clean bathroom. It was a very late booking at an excellent price and so it did the job it needed to do. The lady at check in was very friendly and helpful.

Convenient for the weekend

We’ve stayed in quite a few hotels lately and thus one featured a kettle plus coffee/tea. However it was the smallest room stayed in and very basic. Understandably the cost was great for London on a bank holiday weekend. Polite and friendly staff on the phone and reception upon arrival and check out.

The hotel was not refreshed since 1950s. needs major repairs. No breakfast included or even available. UK electric outlets and only 2 with no adapters for US or Euro , Bathroom about 60 years old with not repaired water damage. Toilet not flashing properly. On going construction outside. Smoking area right under our window. Expedia should be ashamed offering such hotels.

Low end hotel with about the least comfortable bed, springs from 1972, dingy bathroom, poor access to outlets to charge devices, overall about the least nice hotel I’ve stayed in years. No AC but fan was working. No character whatsoever. Nice helpful front desk guy when I arrived at 11pm. Needed to take mini elevator to 3rd floor and carry my suitcase up another flight of stairs. Would only stay here if you cannot find a room anywhere else.

Was expecting hotel to be old fashioned but was in terrible condition, disgusting bathroom, more like a 1970s student bed sit - don’t really know where to begin - it was cheap though and if it had been clean, we would have had no complaints due to fantastic location. Room needed hovering, curtains laundering, electrical nightmare……list goes on

durty room, annts in the room, very very old

This is slightly scummy property. Rooms didn't feel clean. Shower was definitely not clean. TV remote didn't work. the snib of the door latch didn't work, so no security.

The hotel is in need of major renovations. Lots of rotted and peeling wood. Beds have vinyl peeling etc…. Carpet worn. We just needed a place to sleep, close to the underground. Linens were fresh, staff was friendly, bathroom was clean, plenty of hot water. Wi-Fi was functional etc… It was fine for us. We only slept there.

Does the job!

This served the purpose that was required, a bed for the night. We had a quad room. The hotel is old and dated and needs a coat of paint, but the linnen was fresh, the room was clean and after changing my expectations, it was all ok. It's not for a luxury weekend away but it is for a touring of London, being central and divvying up the costs :)

Avoid--Hotel needs complete renovation

This hotel needs to be completely renovated including putting in a new elevator and you should not display it. Bathroom so small you cannot open the door fully without the toilet stopping it. Carpet bad...I could go on and on.

Convenient location

If you are ok with old and rustic, Rose Court Hotel is all of that. Well situated is the main advantage, easy to catch the underground, bus or simply walk.

Badly needs a makeover. At over £200 per night it isn't up to the standard you expect.

Terrible hotel. Do not stay here.

I am a fire safety officer. Doors were wedged open, an electric bike was charging on the means of escape (big no no), a fire extinguisher was missing from its hook, another fire extinguisher was wedged by a door open, the room was damp, the bathroom ceiling was leaking, the shower was disgraceful, (only had a very hot setting and the rate of water flow was abysmal), the room smelt of damp, the bedding felt wet due to the damp in the room, the bed was so hard. Terrible stay all round. I’d like a refund actually. It was a fire safety hazard and I almost reported it to the London Fire Brigade.

DO NOT STAY HERE

This hotel is a sham. It is plain unsafe. The pictures posted are NOTHING like the actual hotel. We had a broken window, trash left in the shower, stains ALL OVER THE FLOOR, tile floor covered in mold, dust covering the water pitcher and other things that hadn't been touched or cleaned in a long time. Our door was also destroyed as if it had been jimmied open many times and did not have a doorknob on the inside. We felt unsafe and did NOT stay at this hotel. We ended up having to book and pay for a complete other hotel and they will not refund anything. Beware of this junky hotel.

Extremely disappointing room, very aged and unkept. Bedding & towels clean, mattress protector full of stains, general room condition extremely poor and unloved. Aged facilities shower head fixing loose so doesnt hold shower head properly bath mixer difficult to adjust due to aged and probably seizing taps. Poor workmanship and maintenence throughout, i know its London but Ive stayed in far cleaner for money, location for purpose of stay was good with easy walk to Paddington

Dirty Room w/ Potential for Bed Bugs

The room was not clean and very dated. The floors were not vacuumed. The light fixture was a ceiling fan, which appeared to not have been dusted ever. The headboards were also dusty. Our room was on the 4th floor, and the elevator only went up to floor 3. My friend who I stayed with says she was attacked by bed bugs. I had checked my bed and didn't see any bed bugs

It was shabby, but the location makes it up. Also the staff was very helpful and nice.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Front of house staff very rude. Room was dirty, dirty coffee mugs, carpets stained, bed worn, extension leads and cables hanging all over, mould in bathroom, shower curtain dirty, handle in shower hanging off. Complained and told take it up with your estate agent. Hoovered ourselves with a hoover we found abandoned in a hallway, but still unsanitary. Our company withdrew us from property due to unsanitary conditions which would have breached their duty of care for their employees. Contacted Hotels.com who resolved, but only 40% refund, and even then Hotels.com had to fight for it.

Disgrace !!!

Room was very tired, doors hanging off wardrobe, bed bases had seen better days, could feel springs in the mattress. Carpet needed burned, was badly stained. Final straw was bugs on the bathroom floor when we returned from our evening out. Having disposed of them, more were found in the bath next morning.

Clean but very dated

For the money it was great but we only stayed one night it was clean ,the bed was comfy ,no plug for the sink and our friends room was the same but we improvised, ok for an overnight stay , the lift wasnt working but ,,,clean but dated

Inadequate - not fit for purpose

Avoid as a plague! The place is not fit for purpose and needs shutting down. We are filing the complaints to health, fire and hotel authorities as we speak. We only had a glimpse of the "accommodation" and left- the room was stinking and the windowd were wide open to get rid of the smell to no success. Filthy carpets, tea bags under the table, broken table, beds looked like they were retrieved from a skip, blood stained mattresses, the window missing fixings so we were unable to close properly - the rain and wind were coming through. We were on the top floor and the drop down was scary and the ground underneath covered with In rubbish and food leftovers. Nothing to secure the window from children. The entrance door to the room was flimsy and an easy push would open it- no way anything would be safe in the room. No deposit box. The electric sockets were hanging out of the walls. The ceiling fan fixed with a builders tape. Empty soap dispenser. No water coming out of shower head. The shelters for homeless look and smell better - avoid! You have been warned! I'm trying to add photos but hotels.com website won't let me for some peculiar reason! I'm still trying though!

This is a very old property. If you prefer a modern life style, it is better to choose others.

1 night stay

This was an alright stay for one night. The room was tidy but steps had been missed during the cleaning process, dust through the room, rubbish left in drawers, water over the bathroom floor, cobwebs in the room and bathroom, etc. Check-out was at 11, yet I got a knock on the floor at 09:30 am and housekeeping seemed surprised I was still in the room. The front desk staff were very friendly on check-in and check-out. An alright place to stay if you want to just sleep

The carpet was dirty. The room smelled. Although the basin and the toilet bowl, bath were clean the rest of the bathroom was dirty. I wouldn't stay here again.

Location was excellent for Hyde Park. Bedding and towels were clean, beds were comfy. Brilliant for what we needed. Needed a good clean and extensive refurbishment.

This is not a Hotel!

This place should not be a Hotel in any way or form. Dirty, Smelly and seriously uninviting. The ceiling leaked when it was raining. I would seriously like my money back.

We had a great stay, very charming. Perfect for a simple place to stay while close to great things.

STAY AWAY!

Shocking hotel! My wife cut her finger when trying to turn on the shower. Went to reception to discuss and the service was appalling! After much arguing they moved us rooms and said they’d just put other people into ours. Location is fantastic but unfortunately everything else is shocking!

Even though it was listed as an air conditioned property on Expedia, it is not. It is filthy with stained carpet and ceilings. The location is excellent and that is what you pay for (too much).

This hotel says it is 3 star. Never in it's wildest halucinations is it any where near that. It is shabby, and that is being polite, run down and frankly awful. I am trying to think of one good thing to say and all I can think is that at least we did not eat there soI am unable to say what the breakfast was like but dread to think!

I could be a great hotel if it was updated ie internal paint job moe choice of food or abar the lift was not very Disable Friendly it be difficult to get a wheelchair in (even closed) but you get what you paid for.

Lots of winding stairs!

The man at the desk didn’t give any indication of where to find the room, just a vague wave. If you aren’t particularly mobile or have a lot of luggage, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. There is no useable lift and the stair cases are spirals. The shower didn’t work, only the bath.

Very poor

I have been coming to this property for quite a few years and have always felt satisfied. Staff are friendly and helpful and the area is excellent. Some rooms are sometimes on the smaller side but thats OK. All in all its is a great property considering the location and everything else.

Decent place and cheap but unclean.

- The hotel wasn’t like the pictures. - the bathtub had hair and pubic hair. - the heater in the room, that was in the basement, didn’t work: it was really cold. Even the staff was covered with jackets and stuff. - it was difficult to communicate with the staff cause of the language barrier. - asked for two more blankets, the man at the reception asked me to wait cause he had to watch the football match. - after 15 minutes I had to go back to the reception and I noticed the blanket upstairs on the floor. He then gave me that one and went to get another one. After 10 minutes we got the second one. - the price wasn’t worth. - only positive thing: it’s near Hyde park and the underground station

Ok for a few hours of sleep

The rooms are nothing like the pictures looks like. Very old hotel, dirty carpets. Check in person was sleeping in the couch at check out.

Only stay if you have no choice

The building is like a rabbit warren - lots of narrow corridors going this way adn that. The hotel has not seen a decorator in decades. My room was on the top floor and only had a skylight - with no curtains. The TV was defective. The shower needed attention. The price was not cheap.

Very basic but does the job considering we were barely in the room. Our main issue however was a leak in the room right by the entrance to the bathroom. The ceiling was dripping and had soaked the carpet. We had informed reception and the only thing the gentleman at reception offered us was to put a tin bucket under the leak filled with water to help stop any sound (this didn't help at all) we were still left jumping over the enormous wet patch to go to the toilet. They hadn't even offered us a room change, just the bucket. We requested to speak to the manager who was shocked we weren't offered a room change, and due to the issues faced, we ended up receiving an additional discount. The manager and owner, however, were accommodating and ensured we left the property happy. If we hadn't had the issue with the leak and the only 'solution' being a bucket underneath this review would be slightly higher. In our room, the bathroom door didn't shut fully either however this isn't the end of the world. Yes, it does need a little bit of TLC here and there but considering the location and its price you do get what you pay for, however, we didn't expect to be jumping over a wet patch on the carpet to go to the bathroom.

The property was in a terrible condition- old , not well maintained, very poor hygiene. I’m happy to provide pictures. Bed sheets were clean - that’s the only think . Hairs on sink , dust , dirty stains all over the room . Walls not decorated it full of stains and paint off. Tv not working. Missing bits from tv remote . Falling off door from wardrobe (it was broken and half down on the floor- that’s how I found it when I walked in the room . Nasty smell .I asked for refund and to leave the property but they refused and offered me two keys to two other rooms . The other rooms were in the same critical condition .I had nothing to do so late in the night than to stay I a terrible condition. Creepy dirty hallways with broken old pics hanging on walls. Broken locks on the door .This place need to be shut down and have a major refurbishment. Seriously I felt scared to stay it felt like in a coast hostel .

I very rarely write any kind of review, but we couldn't let this one slide. Do not go to this hotel for any reason. We chose this hotel based on its proximity to Hyde park. While is very close to the park, it is one of the dirtiest hotels I have ever been to (and I have traveled all around the world). Avoid this hotel at all costs.

As is typical with properties found online, Rose Court fails to meet the expectations as portrayed. A labyrinth of hallways, extremely small quarters despite clearly booking for 3 people, bathroom in very poor condition, on-location restaurant closed, and the ONE key for the room was unavailable at checkin because previous clients had failed to return it and only did so when they came back to lobby to retrieve their luggage.

Enjoyed our stay

Very nice hotel, staff was very friendly, excellent breakfast. Room was very clean. Location is brilliant, few minutes walk to Hyde Park and tube station Marble Arch.

Good location, near Hyde Park. Other than that I would not recommend The Rose Court Hotel to anyone! Old, outdated, unclean appearance! We saw our room and immediately booked another hotel and left!

Funky but not in a good way

We loved the location, but the property is falling apart… literally. The arm on the chair fell off, there were two tvs and we asked for the control and were told, “I have no idea where it is….” The doors were cracked, the floors are uneven.

Basic accommodation, however was in the hear of London, which is what we wanted. Difficulty in turning off shower, had to call maintenance and could only get piping hot water. Maintenance turned up in minutes, there was knack (not obvious) but managed to have a shower in the end. Tea and Coffee making facilities but URT milk lumpy. Comfy bed, clean, TV, stay was adequate and for central London pricing is as expected.

So close to Marble Arch. Appealing from outside but that’s about it. En-suite had leak somewhere on floor, sink plug didn’t work and door didn’t shut. Also en-suite door very narrow (probably not meeting regs). Net curtains filthy. It served a purpose but won’t be revisiting.

Just a room for one night only no more!!

Check in was okay, but I wasn't able to get a receipt from the him. The bedroom is very tiered including the bathroom. The ceiling fan was a bit damaged and wasn't wanting to turn it on. We hear the road noise too, which didn't help much with the sleeping

best location

The hotel has excellent location.But there was no breakfast and cleaning was done twice a week.But front office staff was very humble.

The hotel was extremely disappointing. The room was dirty, the bed base was stained, the carpet was stained the chair was Stained. Extremely tired decor. We didnt stay and checked out straight away. The hotel and Expedia wouldn’t refund my money, so I am extremely out of Pocket having to Find Another hotel at completely last minute, which made my whole weekend horrendous and Stressful. I still can’t understand why a full refund wasn’t offered as the room was not as described.

Basic

Very run down hotel. Room very very basic. Toilet door wouldn’t close fully and the toilet obstructed getting into the tiny bathroom. Strange smells of sewage in the morning in the room and toilet areas Check in was ok and no offer of food or any other services.

Staff at this hotel are very friendly and helpful and try their best to help out in all your needs. The hotel itself does need a bit of refurbishing. The building shows its age and needs to be renewed. The area is excellent, within walking distance of Oxford Street.

Hostel

Where do I start, awful from the minute we got there. Terrible service hard to communicate with the staff. Even after mentioning I had a disability we got given room 401. 5 stair cases later I was hating the experience already. To only find the room the be even worse. Leaking sink dirty bathroom unclean bedroom taped windows and NO HEATING. My partner went to the front desk to only get told there is no heating no more heaters and they can only supply blankets. As you can imagine this put a huge downer on our trip. £135 I paid for the worst experience ever. Not even a bar or a choice to have breakfast. I strongly recommend to stay clear of rose court hostel hellhole.

On arrival to hotel the 'welcome' was very minimal. On arrival in the room we had tje wrong sleeping arrangements in comparison to our booking confirmation but beds were clean. Overall the room needed some TLC as did the bathroom. We were informed no breakfast was available even though booked on confirmation, no price adjustment was offered for that either. Also on the Sunday we were unable to have showers as water was running cold. Overall location was great for us but hotel lacked in offerings.

Get whst you pay for I guess being central

was a good central location to Oxford Street and walk to soho. the hotel needs alot of updating. the men on reception could be more friendly. The room, I'm so glad we got it at the price we did. wow totally needs updating. the carpets u don't even want to step on without socks. the beds where very comfy. and clean. ok for a nice sleep as we did to go out and somewhere to stay.

Not worth the money

Hotel is dated, rooms have damp and water damage, water pressure (especially for upper floors) is minimal, taps are broken so sometimes don’t turn off the water, mattresses are old therefore do not offer much support, electrical wiring is old so some plug sockets do not work, light fittings are on wonky or not fitted correctly at all and the room door locks don’t work (you can easily lean on the door and it’ll open).

Upgrade and avoid…

If you can afford £20 extra a night to avoid this place - spend it. I knew what I was getting for £63 a night in what is basically Mayfair, but still. Also this building could be beautiful, just needs acquiring and renovating

Worst experience avoid.

The heating was broken and stuck on in the room with no access to a working window. When I complained they didn’t understand and brought us up another heater. Then their solution was to try and wedge the bedside cabinet to prop open the hotel door! This leaving us exposed to everyone walking past the room. I told them I didn’t want this and the man working there walked off! They didn’t offer a different room or fix the heater! After continued complaints we got another room where again the heater was broken and stuck on! This time we had an opening window. There was pubic hair all over the toilet, which was leaking all over the floor so could not take shoes off even at night. Then when it rained the ceiling outside our room was leaking. On a plus the beds were comfortable. Honestly, the worst place I have ever stayed in with zero hospitality.

We were very disappointed with our stay . We chose this hotel as breakfast was included in the price. However, on arrival we inquired about gluten free options only to be told that breakfast wasn’t served at all . Also the only teamaking facility in room was three teabags , a kettle and sugar. We had to purchase everything. Our room was not serviced at all during our stay. On our last morning, we were disturbed early by workmen digging up the road right outside our room. A room for leaving luggage was also quoted but the only space provided was behind a door in a public room which was not secure. We would stay in the area again but not in this hotel as it looks very tired.

The welcome was poor and disappointing. The hotel is in need of updating and the room was small. The cleanliness was poor in the room, the bathroom basic and did not feel clean

In dire need of TLC

The hotel is very dated. A lovely building but very much in need of some TLC. They have tried but bodged. Window in our room was cracked, so they covered it with a frosted sticky on panel. The window sill in the breakfast room was so dirty you could write your name in it. Such a shame as its in a prime location and the front desk staff were lovely.

Good value and in a very good location for price. Basic but is what we expected for star rating and price. Spent most of the time sightseeing, so was perfect for our needs.

No to bad, the heating was flat out all night and was a sauna.

The location was good. That is the only thing that we liked. The property is very old, but that's not the problem, its not maintained. Things are falling apart. Tiny lift, can barely fit 2 people. No way to lock the door from inside. Heating can't be controlled, the thermostat doesn't work. Fan doesn't work. The bath tub tap has its own mind when it comes to controlling the temperature of the water. Hangers in the closet are literally from the cloths from Primark. No hooks or racks to keep towel or clothes in the super tiny bathroom. No side tables for the beds. No PHONE.

Location was great, beds were comfortable. Plumbing was sub-par and the street was noisy. Staff was great. The breakfast was very nice though I’d wished it opened at 7 a.m. rather than 8.

Sad experience

I chose the hotel for it's location. From the outside, it looked fine, but the interior is shabby and in the main, dirty. To look for the positive, the bed linen was clean. I booked for three nights and left after one. The price was low, but there is no price low enough for squalor.

The rooms were clean and tidy and the staff were very helpful and pleasant breakfast was good and some good choices would stay again if in the area as the prices are good aswell.
