I love the different room themes

This was my 3rd stay at Roots. Loved it everytime. The staff are brilliant. Especially Opia and Matthew who go out of their way to make you comfortable. Mon, Wed ànd Friday nights are free party nights there. The place was rocking! Loved it n thanks again RB youll be seeing me and mine again soon.

I have always loved Roots Bamboo. I really appreciate the upgrades and new amenities to the property.

Internet access poor.

The property is centrally located on the 7mules beach. All staff members were professional and friendly. A good place to stay if you are looking for a hassle free stay in the beach.

The staff and facilities were excellent.

Facilities good but the early morning barking dogs are Annoying and disturbing

This is a reasonably priced, comfortable and quiet resort centrally located in Negril and directly on the beach. My room on the upper level was recently renovated and was clean and spacious. The room had a comfortable bed, efficient air conditioning, ample closet space, a safety deposit box and wall mounted TV. In addition, it included a kitchenette with microwave, fridge, stove and kitchen sink. The bathroom had a walk in shower and was spacious. There was plenty of free on site parking for my rent a car. Resort staff was courteous and professional. The restaurant at the resort served delicious meals and the beach area was well maintained. I would definitely stay here again when in Negril.

Comfortable stay

The place had everything I needed refrigerator sink and two beds. Also had a spacious bathroom.

My sister and I stayed for a week! Ms Denise and her staff were most excellent in meeting all of our needs. So courteous and helpful, ALWAYS with a smile. Cottage was very clean, bed was comfy with clean crisp sheets! Kitchenette with a fridge, was a nice addition! We were just a short walk (one minute) from the beach. A shower area where ww could rinse off after the beach. The garden areas were always being groomed. And our room had air conditioning, I believe they all do. Thank you Denise and your staff for making our stay the best!! I cannot recommend this gem enough!

Centrally located on SMB with easy access to all. I had a comfy stay and a great experience, especially in the modern upper level apt. I enjoyed the nighttime live music. Staff was very personable and quite responsive. Special mention to Ravel and Theo. See you soon!

We paid in full for a room with a kitchen but got the cheapest room they had which was worth $25 canadian but expedia charged us $158 This place is literally a dump!!

A safe place to call your second home.

I love visiting family in Jamaica, but when i need to get away from them, i always go to Roots Bamboo

Room was a shack. No security, anyone can walk right up to your room. Bar and resraurant/hotel are separate neither is anybgood.

Nothing fancy here however it’s very clean and comfortable and friendly staff. The beach area was not kept there was a lot of seaweed which should have been clean to give the beach area a better appearance instead of looking dirty.

Live music on wednesdays and fridays to good time for all

My stay was good. My only issue is that I didn't have time to wait for the Jamaican style breakfast, which is made to order.

Walk ways were slippery with moss. Cottage style rooms with slat windows. Because of this, there's not much privacy.

Best customer service in Jamaica, Ravel!

The service by Ravel was the best part. His custom service is unmatched in all of my frequent travels to JAMAICA!!! We had six rooms of friends and family and were well satisfied. We will be back!! The music was great, the sax player Richard was amazing my husband and I enjoyed!

The front desk staff and dining area staff were very professional.

The staff was pleasant and friendly. I would definitely stay here again.

Cosy environment

My second go around and I absolutely will be returning. I love how attentive the staff is. Great party area and the food is off the chain.

Immersed in culture, Roots Bamboo gives an experience you just can't get anywhere else. The live music, excellent service, and proximity to the beach are truly unequaled.

The rooms were lacking even basic maintenance such as changing light bulbs.

Intimate chill spot

It was a nice spot to spend a night. Some of the rooms looks like little houses with a veranda. Small paths that lead through the bar/restaurant to the beach. I loved the live entertainment and being right across the street from a club. The only downfall is the mosquitoes in the room.

People were friendly and polite .. Just a bit pricey when the Wi-Fi wasn’t able to Connect … so that was very disappointing to be honest

Check in with Revel was awesome! Super friendly and personable. Staff approved a later check out, and the bed was super comfy.

I like the proximity to the beach.

The property need to be renovated. The ants was horrible. Floors was slippery do to leaks from toilet and kitchen sink. I made the best out of it. Over all entertainment, food and staff was on point.

Very dated rooms. There were lots of ants in the room and there were no other rooms were available. We moved to another hotel.

The night office staff/ security was very rude.

Our home away from home.

Stayed at Roots in the early 2000's the first time and it was nice. Went back this year and things have changed. The place itself is the same but lots of hustlers walking by rooms daily trying to get you to buy many things , nice and bad. Employees were very nice and helpful. Bartenders at night charge what they want.

Low key,

The property as a whole was very quaint and beautiful. We decided to stay one night in Negril during our weeklong stay in Montego Bay. The beach was beautiful and we enjoyed an extremely delicious dinner at the bar/restaurant. HOWEVER, there was no working air conditioning in our room. That would’ve been fine as the ceiling fan kept it cool-ish, except the noise from other guests and the ridiculous noise from cats fighting ALL NIGHT, made it impossible to get any sleep. Would recommend going there for dinner, drinks, and the beach, but sleeping somewhere else.

It’s a cute beach side hotel with individual cabins. Check-in was quick, the room was clean, the water in the bathroom was hot, and the mattresses were comfy. Only real complaint was that the WiFi was spotty but if you walked around you could pick up a signal. I’d stay here again.

The property is in a great location in the middle of 7 mile beach. Several great restaurants and bars are within a short walk. The rooms were very basic which is all we needed. My only complaint is that when we booked the site listed AC and we only had a ceiling fan. This wasn't a problem at night in March, but it would be in the hot humid months.

Roots Bamoo

Roots Bamboo consists of simple cottages and is great for couples on a budget. The beach is beautiful and the cafe offerings are delicious. A wonderful stay!

I liked all of it. Hope to stay there next February

Low budget accommodations

The WiFi did not work in the room. There was no AC. Our room was right by the bar so couldn’t go to sleep until the concert ended at 1am. Toilet didn’t flush well. Window shutters didn’t open/close well. Not so friendly/helpful staff but neighbors and other guests were nice. Live music. The room (while small) was clean. Cheap price so get what you pay for.

Very basic hotel. No amenities at all. Everything overpriced.

Relaxed vibes

We had a fantastic time at Roots Bamboo. Prepare for a lot of action when you stay here! We enjoyed every minute.

We had an amazing stay at this resort. The staff were extremely wonderful, helpful, polite, and attentive! We really felt the love and connection with the people of Jamaica and will be back. Would also recommend to anyone wanting a lovely, authentic Jamaican experience in Negril! ❤️ Respect 👊

I was pleased with entire stay. This is a great little hideaway. Love the access to the beach. Wish that the restaurant next door would have been open. Will return again.

It was laid back and the room was clean. The pillows were wonderful and the bed was comfortable. Had my own "bungalow". On 7 mile beach for great walks and has a beautiful veiw. I will go back. Price is great!

Staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. Very charming property and great location.

Love the little cabins and the rooms were in great condition. A/C worked great and there’s free safes in the room. The beach is right there as well as 2 bars and a coffee shop next door.

Arrival at the property went smooth. Conditions of the property were rustic at best. The water pressure was very weak, but eventually went back up. The beds were very uncomfortable, and the rooms allowed bugs to get in (space between the floor and bottom of door.) The beds were thin mattresses only on wooden frames, - very rustic- you could say.
