Property was centrally located in Gra Via, close to metro, restaurants, shopping, and museums.

Excellent place to be in Madrid Center, close to many attractions and great places to eat. Plaza Mayor and San Miguel market just around the corner . Callao metro station just few meters away.

Was a very nice hotel with a great breakfast. Good central area. Clean and unique.

Good modern hotel

Good hotel in very busy street Gran Via. Reception is on the 9th floor and the rooms below that. We had paid for a street view. Room was modern, compact and comfortable bed. No door on the bathroom but toilet and shower do have doors so don’t worry!! Great sound proofing as did not hear a thing from outside when in the room. Breakfast served on 9th floor were delicious. Small rooftop pool tho too cold to use in February plus we had no time. Would recommend hotel, good location for sight seeing.

Esta bien el hotel, pero de todos los roommates de la cadena que he estado es el que menos me ha gustado. La habitación cómoda pero con detalles a mejorar como los sonidos que hacen las luces detrás de las camas, la incómoda ubicación de la tv y de la calefacción que para que caliente el cuarto hay que abrir la cortina que divide el cuarto del baño. No tiene mucho sentido. El servicio de comida es muy malo deberían cambiar la empresa encargada del servicio. El staff muy amable y servicial. Y la ubicación excelente!!!

Room Mate Macarena was an amazing hotel. Abit confusing to find the entrance as its a small doorway next to Urban Outfitters. However it did NOT disappoint. Central location in the heart of Madrid and iconic landmarks and plazas. Breakfast had alot of variety and the views in the rooftop. Couldnt have picked a better hotel. Only thing i would recommend is just an air freshner in the bathroom. But I will recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone and when I visit Madrid again, I will be staying at Room Mate Macarena

Its a good place

Hotel is nice, clean and very well located. Rooms are smaller than average hotel rooms, which make it very inconvenient for people with family or large luggage.

Madrid stroll

Located at Gran Via closed to everything a tourist wishes to see with multiple transportation venues (metro, bus, etc). Breakfast was ok for a couple of days, one gets tired afterwards as it’s the same every day. Room was clean and very nice decorated, bed was way too firm for our taste. The rooftop was nice but too cold to enjoy it (November). The staff was friendly and attentive, overall a good experience.

The property was very well located on Gran Via, close to lots of the main things we wanted to see in Madrid. The staff were friendly, breakfast was great with plenty of options. The rooms were clean (maybe slightly on the small side, but not too small), and ours was right next to the elevator, which we could hear most of the night when trying to sleep, so if staying here you may want to request one away from the elevator if possible.

Amazing stay

One of the best places I have ever stayed in. Bed was sooooooooooo comfortable, large tv staff very helpful would definitely recommend. Two things could be improved- the shower can get quite slippery and no hand rail to hold yourself and the tv needed more English speaking channels or be able to connect to Netflix etc

Spent 8 nights in total in a city view room. It was surprisingly quiet and peaceful to sleep at night considering how busy Grand Via is. The pro of being so centrally located also makes it a bit of a con when you’re tired at the end of a busy day exploring and have to dodge waves of people coming at you to get back to your hotel. The breakfast was perfect with plenty of selection. The front desk staff are friendly and helpful. The room was large with plenty of storage. I wouldn’t want to stay here with a friend - there is zero privacy for the bathroom but was fine with a couple. Additionally, housekeeping was a bit inconsistent with time - one day they were knocking on the door just before 8am when we hadn’t left for the day, the next day they were knocking on the door at 3:30pm when we had come back for a nap to prepare for a late night. Our last day there, the didn’t restock the coffee and we had run out of hand soap which didn’t get refilled - non of the containers of toiletries were refilled during our stay of 8 nights. Overall a good stay and we will book with the Room Mate brand again, but will look for a less busy neighborhood which is more our vibe than Grand Via with its global brands and constant crowds.

Love this hotel. Excellent location in the city center. The rooftop bar has amazing views of the city. Staff is courteous and very friendly. The breakfast buffet is plentiful. the rooms are spacious and well appointed. I like the mid century modern design of the property. My go to hotel in Madrid.

The facilities of the hotel are amazing. We were very impressed by the hotel rooms. The rooms look even better in person. The terrace has an amazing view of all of Madrid. And being located in Gran Via, you can walk and go everywhere. So excellent stay.

The staff are helpful and friendly. The breakfast buffet had lots of variety. The rooftop bar has great views, and you can't hear the street. The rooms have sound proof windows and thick curtains which makes the room very quiet for sleeping. We had a really enjoyable stay here.

Great place for the price

Incredible hotel! We stayed here for only a couple of nights but wish we were there longer. Exceptional breakfast—so many options. Definitely worth the money for the convenience of having somewhere to go first thing before you start your day. The patio outside has a beautiful view of Madrid. The rooms are super quiet, too, despite being on a busy road and with co striating across the street. The only strange part was how there is no security or receptionist on main floor (at least when we were there). We arrived late, 2am or so. Luckily, a hotel staff member was arriving at the same time, and let us know that reception is on the 9th floor. I’m not sure if you could get up to the 9th floor without a card, though. The rooftop terrace was super cool. String lights, high top tables. Beautiful! I’d only ask for a steamer or iron in the room, and hotel bathrobes. :)

The hotel was close to all, enjoyed the roof top and the friendly staff.

The staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. Especially Andrea at the front desk and Elena at the breakfast cafe. The location was perfect for walking to Plaza de Sol, Plaza Mayor and all the wonderful sidewalk restaurants, including best churro and chocolate shops. I will return to the Marcarena next year.

Well-located hotel. Great staff, clean hotel. The only real negative we can think of is that the rooftop pool was ice cold. Even on a hot day, the water was too cold to get in.

The hotel rooms are smaller than advertised and there weren’t enough loungers by the pool for the guests. The pool was also cold and the water wasn’t super clean. It’s a good location but the pictures aren’t quite reality

This property is in a fabulous location and had an amazing rooftop terrace with a small pool. Super comfy loungers, great after walking the city in the morning. Awesome staff at reception and at the rooftop bar. Unique rooms that evoked a Miami Beach art-deco vibe. Downside was that our toilet area didn’t smell so fresh. Other than that, we highly recommend this hotel for the leisure traveller.

I’m very happy with my stay at the Macarena, very friendly staff, they make you feel right at home.

The breakfast is until 12 pm ! You could seelp more and then have a really good breakfast . I didn't like that some people tray you really good and others just depending how you look . That's a little frustrating 😑. Overall the hotel is located in an excellent location close to eveything ! No laundry .That was my only one concern .

Hotel located on the busiest part of Gran Via. We were surprised to be greeted by a doorman who unlocked the elevator for us to reach the reception on the 9th floor! The rooms are spacious, well-decorated, and soundproofed, but the hallways are dark and the access to the elevators feels disconnected from the rest of the building. It gives the impression that some floors are part of the hotel while others are not? The elevators are also very slow. The view from the terrace is magnificent, but the pool is much too small for the number of guests. The hotel is mainly occupied by young people aged 20 to 40, with few/no families. In short, it was okay for one night, but we wouldn't stay longer.

1. We wanted to change our room to less expensive one, although we saw in the website the hotel had spare rooms like we wanted, they refused to change our type of room. 2. We wanted to drink/eat in the patio with pool, from our own alcohol/food that we bought outside, they didn’t allow it, they said that we have to buy from their bar. I don’t understand, we paid for the stay, and very expensive price, and it includes the patio with the pool (not to drink and eat in the pool of course) why I have to order from your bar? 3. If the towels weren’t on the floor, they wouldn’t replace it, that means, if I hang the towel, it won’t be replaced. Also the glasses, we drunk coffee in it, they covered it instead of bringing new clean ones.

Amazing choices for breakfast. Heathy balanced and good food. Places to eat breakfast: inside or outside terrace dinning with excellent city view. Roof top restaurant bar on the 10 th floor late hours for tapas and drinks along with a excellent music and city views daytime or night. Small pool. Much smaller than pictures on the web-side. More for showing than swimming.
