Outstanding, Excellent room, main restaurant was not open, but service was provided adjacent to the bar (breakfast was very good). Great service and attitude overall.

Overall, a very nice hotel. Hotel service was excellent. The food was interesting, not terribly tasteful. Food service was less positive than the hotel side. They were slow and mostly inattentive for the breakfast and dinner meals.

Great property and location to easily get around the city and other destinations. The customer service was amazing by the front desk, concierge, door men, and restaurant staff.

Second time I have stayed here. We got an amazing 7th floor room with a nice view. Had a fantastic massage and tasty free breakfast. Staff is always so kind!

Excellent location, service and accommodation

Fabulous hotel

It is centrally located and easy to reach by car. Enjoyable interior design, and quality materials throughout. We liked the room with its excellent bed and bathroom, the assortment of fresh and tasty produce at the breakfast, the dinner at the restaurant, and the professional service. We felt pampered. However, I will rate it only one star because, two weeks after check out, they still owe me €300 which they blocked on my credit card at the check-in. I paid the room well in advance and I paid all the additional charges at check-out. I called and e-mailed several times. They told me there were “some complications with our payment provider, which did not allow us to see your authorization.” Nevertheless, nothing happened since, and this is unacceptable, especially for a hotel of this standard.

The staff were excellent. Room service wasn’t the best. We asked for a mattress topper which we received but to my horror there were dark brown stains through it. The restaurant was exceptional.

Great hotel, but the fridge took a day to repair. The rooms are very comfortable, we loved the breakfast. Good location, simple walk to the centre

From arrival we felt the hotel was excellent. Superb staff at the desk, upgraded to park view room, nice touches in the room for our daughter. Breakfast although quite expensive was superb. I’d go as far to say that The Charles was faultless…

The hotel infrastructure is world class, and so is its staff. They are not only cordial, as each and every one of them tries to provide us the finest experience.

Lovely hotel, perfect for our needs

Great staff at a great hotel made for a superb experience.

The overall experience at this establishment was quite delightful, with a charming location and impeccable service that I would readily recommend to anyone. Upon entering our room, however, we encountered a minor hiccup as there was leftover food on the desk. A quick call to the front desk prompted an immediate and apologetic response. The staff was genuinely horrified and worked diligently to rectify the situation, providing a commendable effort to make up for the less-than-ideal welcome. While the staff's response was impressive, I did notice a lack of VIP access offers or room upgrade options during check-in. Despite having shortened our stay from two nights to one, we were assigned a classic room on the second floor with no notable view. Although I personally chose not to dwell on this, an upgrade with a better view would have been a welcomed enhancement to our experience. Nevertheless, the staff exhibited excellent training, contributing to an overall enjoyable short stay. My only qualm was the absence of any indication that this was a VIP access hotel, as no special offers were mentioned during check-in. It might be worthwhile for Expedia to cultivate stronger relationships with VIP access hotels to ensure that guests receive the anticipated special treatment that comes with such accommodations. Overall, a positive experience, but a more seamless integration of VIP perks would elevate the guest experience.

Staff was excellent!!

Service is inconsistent. I had to call 3 or 4 times every time I made a request, be it from Room Service, Laundry, Etc. I had an incident with a rude waitress at the restaurant and requested to speak to the manager. He never acknowledge my request and simply sent amenities to my room (as if that solves anything). Overall, the experience was so negative that I decided to leave three nights before the end of my planned stay. This hotel definitely does not conform to the standards that you would typically find in other Rocco Forte hotels. Terrible experience.

wonderful hotel!

Best hotel in Munich

the sauna, steamroom, pool and massage areas are only open until 8. If I am visiting Munich I am probably out shopping sightseeing and I will come back at lets say 7 p.m. So I would have only 1 hour to use the spa pool book a massage, that dissapointed me a lot. I ended up never using the sauna,pool areas. I booked this hotel because of their sauna and pool. :(

Disappointing not a typical Rocco forte group hotel . The location is scary I felt like I was going to get robbed . Beware before booking !

Over the top Service!

The staff was fabulous! Initially I had a small issue Claudia went over the top to fix and make my staff one of the best I’ve experienced. She is kind, professional and one of the most valuable employees I’ve ever met! Ma Milligan the Concierge too was extremely helpful and pleasant. I couldn’t be happier! I’ll be back in a month on business.

Reception staff good; housekeeping needs attention

Stay for two nights. Housekeeping: There was a sign in the room complimentary tea and coffee; however we only had coffee. I asked for tea and it came but the man asked me to pay for it. I explained and the problem was sorted. The next day more water was given but again no tea. Asked housekeeper who passed message on, but nothing turned up- no one appeared- bought some! Expect more from an hotel with this reputation. Additionally only one small shower gel and shampoo between two of us. I had to ask for more. I did appreciate the reception staff being extremely helpful and accommodating though. They organised and early check in as we had travelled over 48 hours and needed a rest thank you to them.

Great location and very confortable hotel, with friendly staff and good room service. Restaurant has good food, but service needs to improve. Walking distance to museums and old town. We will defintely return!

Rooms were nice, service not as good as we hoped. Breakfast was terrible , service was terrible and coffee cups not replaced after room made up. Not a major thing in real world but paying $1000 per night expect perfection

The first day we were put in a noisy room opposite a construction site and after complaining we were moved to another room the next day. Room is spacious and relatively clean. Unfortunately my sons AirPods disappeared from our room the night before we left and the hotel didn’t even have the decency to compensate our loss. Safe to say we will not stay there again. Breakfast was a good standard and service was ok. Concierge was very helpful and so were some members at the reception.

Wonderful staff, great location, classy hotel, good breakfast, comfortable amenities. There’s nothing I can say besides I’ll be coming back to this hotel next time.

The Staff were all very attentive and fulfilled all of our needs. The breakfast was not great and one day the staff was really overworked.

This is a lovely hotel with a quiet park setting in a nice area. Rooms very spacious and service was excellent. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back. (We have been traveling throughout Europe for the last three weeks and this hotel was such a nice change of pace due to it being in a quiet location and large rooms). I highly recommend. staying her.

Incredible staff, professional, knowledgeable and friendly!

Amazing staff, poor room specs, over-priced

This is a five star hotel. We have stayed at another five star hotel in the city with comparable suite room, but The Charles was above and beyond in every way. It feels like a new hotel because of the well-considered room layouts, furniture and amenities. Everything is well-placed and working. The bathroom and plumbing, the size and location of closet, the seating and beds, sideboard and tables. The breakfast dining was excellent, the concierge and staff so helpful and accommodating for anything we asked, for arranging covid testing for our return home as well as taxi scheduling to the airport. My daughter's cot bed was ready when we arrived, and her bed was as comfortable as the permanent kind sized bed in the room. They had provided slippers and a robe for her, too. We especially appreciated the location: We were centraly located to everything - an easy walk to the station, museums, and shopping, but surrounded by trees, greenery and a park. We would absolutely stay there again.

The property is impeccable

Truly had a wonderful stay at The Charles Hotel! Our expectations were high, but they were exceeded. The staff of this hotel were what really made a difference, they were very friendly and helpful and went above and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable and extra special stay.

The staff in the Charles hotel is so far the best I have experienced. Professional, helpful, polite and respectful. The bar and the spa also get five stars. You can define a hotels kitchen by its Club Sandwich, and this Club Sandwich was worth its salt – five stars. The only problem which surprised us, was the bed and the sheets. The beds had a fall away from the middle – which meant you couldn’t sleep in the middle at all – on the king size bed. The sheets where made of average quality synthetic fibers, which isn’t common at this level hotels. Quality of the beds are key.

Wonderful Hotel!

Staff was very responsive. Doorman were attending to every need with the bags. We arrived early, and the front desk staff and doorman were very helpful, letting the children change clothes and directing our family to Christmas Markets until our rooms were ready. Wonderful! We will definitely choose this hotel for future trips to Munich.

It was true perfect choice for a birthday dinner and overnight. It’s beautiful and the restaurant is excellent It’s real strength is a superb set of staff We were made to feel very welcome. And virtually everyone I met wished me happy birthday! Highly recommended

Great quite location but also walkable to most attractions. Staff and service deserves 6 stars. All rooms other than suites are over 400 sq. Ft. In size and only difference is the view. Great breakfast buffet and also ala cartel ordering as well. Booking this hotel is the smart choice in Munich!

According to the staff the business center was shutdown months ago, so now if you have any issue with your travel app or your mobile connection and need a desktop computer in order to print some docs or access to Internet, you must look for the nearest call center or Internet cafe which are usually very small and crowded premises, an experience that I´d not recommend to anyone.

The hotel is in a beautiful parklike setting that is also within walking distance of the Marienplatz as well as the main train station. The staff is extremely welcoming and happy to serve their guests, from the doormen to the front desk as well the restaurant and housekeeping.

Perfect location to see Munich's sites. Close to Ubahn and Sbahn stations. Walk to the museums. The staff was excellent.

Best in class

Hotel was very nice & some extra little details made our stay memorable. HOWEVER upon arrival our AC didn't work & the room was so hot you couldn't even sit inside. Despite telling 4 staff members about it, we returned to a sauna. They did finally fix it but then the heat didn't work so when it cooled off in Munich our room was freezing. Again told every staff member we saw but never did get fixed.

Gorgeous hotel with brand new rooms, plush bedding and bath, and huge breakfast offering including drinks and Bavarian specialties. Hotel service was impeccable. The pool is not quite a lap pool but worked out fine. The area around the hotel is very commercial near train station so while convenient it wasn’t a pleasant neighborhood. Would stay here again no hesitation.

Excellent hotel, staff is very accommodating, and welcoming, location is perfect, right at the centre and metro, breakfast is great, I would absolutely stay there again.

Beautiful rooms and high quality, attentive service.

The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. It was our honeymoon and they had a plate of treats in our room! When they brought our car to us in the morning they had out water and mints for us! So thoughtful!

Location to train station was great. My reservation didn't include breakfast buffet and when I asked to add it to my room fee on check in they would not do it saying to just pay each day at restaurant. Service average. Room service staff was very good however.

Great Classic Luxury Hotel but Smallish Rooms

First class hotel convenient location. Beautiful bathroom with soaking tub. Rooms were smaller than I expected for a luxury hotel, but beautiful. Great 15 Meter pool with sauna and steam room. Fun restaurant on property.
