Paid for double beds and was only given a king size. Staff lied and said they would work something out but never did. Rooms outdated. Staff professionalism overall was okay. Food was poor besides the jerk hunt and restaurants. Definitely will not be returning.

The AC unit went out for 3 nights out of a 5 night stay. But all other amenities were above board.

So if you’re looking for entertainment this is the place to be. The food is decent. Some days have better options. The jerk chicken hut is good. I do like that everything is close by to each other we didn’t have to walk far from one place to another. Again is a turn up Resort so don’t expect quietness. However the room service was horrible we got our room cleaned in our 4th day there and only got towel exchange our 1st day. We did have a great time bc we came to party and to be entertained.

Overall review

Excellent entertainment performance day and night from live band, dance performances, games and theatre stage. A variety of food stations at breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets to satisfy all our taste buds. Buffet ranged from local Jamaican cuisine, American, Italian, Asian, Chinese, Mediterranean, grilled fishes, carvery, various delicious desserts, fresh range of juices and smoothies and fruits. I did not watch the entire theatre night performance but my family commented that it was world class. You can also walk 3 mins to Riu Montego bay next door from lunch time to attend the night club or to switch activities. However, Riu raggae was equipped with activities, performances and food. The beach, jerk hut, swim up pool bars, swimming pools, riu water sport centre, restaurants, indoor and outdoor bars and spa were in close proximity of the room, which was a plus. If you want to be close to the restaurants including buffet, choose the tropical garden view.

A few updates and this place would be a 10/10

My stay was good especially by the pool but I think u guys can do better with the ac in the lobby and it’s really a lot of walking to get to the rooms but overall we had an amazing time i will come back

This property was very nice staff is excellent but the guys that come up to the property come to change the place to another character and the youngsters that were vacationing this past week have no respect for them selves and came to this hotel to act to wild treating this hotel like carnival cruise otherwise a very nice place. And Attention the liquor is tampered with it’s not real liquor in the rooms it’s rubbing alcohol so please be careful

Great resort! Has a great layout with lots of pools, It's right next to sea. Beach is absolutely beautiful. Rooms were nice and clean. Staff were very friendly. They also had lots of fun activities during the day and amazing shows at night. I'd definitely come back here again!

My first experience here was in 2017, it was great this experience was terrible I did not have a blanket and froze when I returned to my room everyday no blanket was in the closet …sheets were never changed. Reservations for restaurants should be transparent and made during check in. The air went out one day so my room was hot. The massage in spa was the best. This resort needs to be rehabbed upgraded rooms are poor quality.

There’s little food to eat after dinner I think it should be open 24 hours so you can eat 7-11 breakfast 12-5 lunch 6:30-10 or 11 dinner after franks nachos chili veggie patties, popcorn sandwiches. Pool close at 6pm WHY and it’s a swim up bar so you start drinking around 9am beach is open at your own risk after 6pm

Unique..clean very clean..housekeeper amazing..male manager horrible...I at front desk....Air conditioner keep shutting off and fan was making loud noises...mangement did not help...i will not stay here again

1. Not enough staff to cater the pool area without a bar 2. Safe in the room never worked even after batteries were replaced 3. Waitresses weren't very welcoming at ackee 4. Massage services were excellent 5. Entertainment every night was excellent. Bubbles, Rapture and Mr. Pineapple were the only 3 that actually got to know the guests and were very welcoming 6. I love this property! Had a great time I had 5000 provisional RIU Class pts and when I checked in they disappeared and now I have 40pts I have no clue what happened and customer service had no answers and I returned to the resort because of them; not happy about that!

Staff are rude. Unfriendly

The food was not very good at all and the property needs to update and renovate. Also, when the wind blew a certain direction there is a very foul odor of sewerage which was disgusting. The staff were amazing which was the only reason to give the property three stars.

Property and staff was great but was a unpleasant smell of weed at many open air places at the resort like the lounges chairs by front stage and bar. Walking to my room the hallway had that unpleasant smell too. I couldn’t use balcony due to neighbors smoking weed. The property was very welcoming, from the staff to just the hotel environment! The rooms were clean as well as the entire facility! The food was great and restaurant staff were 10/10 as well as bar staff! I would recommend and also visit again!

great property, really fun to stay food was great beautiful pool the destination services transportation was not good- they never confirmed our pick up back to the airport despite it was paid for, and we had to get a cab to go back to the airport. This is not related to the property as they do offer their own cabs But this transportation service was offered by Orbitz and there is no other place for me to leave this comment.

Loved everything! Clean, friendly staff, lots of variety at buffet and jerked chicken near beach! Best pina coladas😜 just don’t seem to have adequate wash cloths nor hand towels. Some days we didn’t have wash cloths nor hand towels. Lots of bath towels.

Riu Reggae was a beautiful and memorable getaway. There was lots of activities to do, and so much of the resort to explore. While the food was slightly lacking, it was decent. The rooms are pretty accurately depicted as well. Overall a wonderful stay, with helpful and attentive staff.

I stayed at the Riu Reggae for four days and three nights. Upon arrival, I was greeted with a rum punch and a warm, friendly welcome from the staff, which set a great tone for the trip. Rooms: The room was clean but very bare-bones—only the essentials. If you like fancy décor, plush bedding, and a soft mattress, this is not the place for you. The mattress was rock hard, and when I asked for a blanket, I received a very thin one. The overall feel was functional but far from luxurious. Vibe: This is absolutely a party hotel. There are lots of young people having a great time, with nonstop entertainment and music. If you love to party, you’ll be in heaven. If you want peace and quiet, you’ll have to actively seek it out—there is a quieter pool on the property where you can relax, which I really appreciated. Some of my travel companions had late-night noise issues with neighbors throwing loud parties in their rooms. Food & Dining: The buffet was delicious, and the steakhouse was also excellent. No complaints there—the food was a highlight. Other Things to Note:    •   If you book a “double room,” be aware this means two people, not two beds. Some people in my group ended up having to share a bed despite paying for a double.    •   There’s a one-towel-per-person-per-day policy for the pool/beach.

The experience at RIU reggae was truly a fun and enjoyable vacation. The staff and the facilities were design for happiness. This is a location I would recommend and return to in the future

My husband and I were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary. We enjoyed our stay at RIU Adult Resort. It being adult only, it had a more mature age group which was important to us. The activities, shows and excursions were great! The free access to the other RIU hotel which was walking distance was a plus because it provided a different experience/flavor

We liked the fact that the resort was on the smaller side. Very clean and the staff was amazing. The entertainment was pretty nice the food was good but could of been a little better. I would definitely stay again.

Everything was easy walkable, the overall atmosphere was relaxing, laid back and easy going. If I could change anything it would be to retrain the facilities manager (Ismael) on customer service. Otherwise the place was straight out of a dream.

The staff was extremely professional, personable, and hard working.

My stay at RIU Raggue was wonderful the staff was friendly and the environment was clean, refrigerator was stack every other day and the house keepers-left a nice inspirational note on my bed every time they clean.Awesome awesome great time. Only cons they need more than one entertainment at night time to give the guest choices. Other than that everything was great.

Room 88 had a horrible sewage smell for days until we called the front desk and they did fix it. The night life at reggae wasnt that great, riu montego bay has a club thats open nightly. Next time i would rather stay at the palace to have access to all 3 resorts.

Rooms was dirty

This property was very nice for the money that you spend securing it. Ive been to many RIU Resorts, and this one was nice. Food was good, the beach was small, but clean and good for a swim. The staff was mainly friendly and helpful. Close proximity to the airport. The vibe was a live and fun!

Everything was unique and well done.

Group of 21 for a 50th birthday celebration. For the adult only hotel it didn't had much entertainment. What they did had was great.

I like the various food options and the activities but I did not like the customer service at all.

The resort offers great service and a beautiful, accommodating atmosphere that makes for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. The spa and massage experience was absolutely amazing, and every food venue exceeded expectations with delicious options and excellent variety. However, the rooms are noticeably outdated and in need of renovation to match the high quality of the rest of the resort. Overall, a wonderful experience with just a few areas for improvement.

Riu Reggae Not Worth Staying At

The hotel was too loud. The bathroom door had to stay open in order to use the toilet. The food at the restaurant was subpar. Riu reggae is for young adults who just want to party & don’t care where they stay at

Hello i just recently stayed at this property and everything was good besides the front desk staff. The front staff particularly the women that were there on the 17th of July really needs to work on their professionalism. They were really rude checking in and out. I scheduled a double room and when I got there at 4:00 and had to wait an additonal hour and a half for my two beds when it is what I reserved. The Akee Staff was extremely pleasant and Kadijah and Desmond were rock stars

I want to start this review by saying to like the RIU brand resorts. I typically stay with them when traveling because they are moderately priced for nice accommodations. So this is just my experience at the RIU Reggae in Montego Bay, Jamaica. For context, I’ve been to at least 6 or 7 times and have always stayed on a resort. Most of the times I stayed at either RIU Montego Bay (my favorite 😍), RIU Palace or RIU Negril resorts. This was my first time at RIU Reggae. I wanted to try this one because I heard good things about it and it was one of the newer RIU resorts of the Montego Bay set. The staff were nice. Of course the entertainers spend a lot of time throughout the day being great and welcoming and their performances were amazing. The crowd, like other vacationers, not so much. Talk about bland, like they were forced to be there. It was so crazy to see. Lol. There were a few people, of course, who were hype and were fun but the overall the crowd was not my level enjoyment at all. The other staff were ok, they spoken when spoken to but nothing beyond that obligation. There were a few who were very welcoming and initiated in normal chit chat. We arrived an hour or so before check in and they were able to accommodate an early check in, which was greatly appreciated until we saw the room. We opted for a “garden view” because most of our time would be spent outside and didn’t care, until we saw it was over the driveway 😩. Never in my life have I ever been placed over

I wish they would allow guest to bring food to their rooms being there’s no room service you find yourself constantly sitting in a cafeteria style buffet feeling like you're in high school all over again. Decent peppery rooms kind of small hated my balcony was facing other balconies do no privacy. Food was good. Kind of boring and lacked entertainment at times but overall definitely would call it a party hotel. Not bad but probably won’t return. Front desk could benefit from training regarding professionalism and attitude.

The entertainment was awesome and the food was good.

The resort had a nice, chill vibe during the week, and I really enjoyed my stay. The hospitality was great, and I felt well taken care of. One downside was that they didn’t provide makeup wipes or designated rags for makeup removal, so I was charged for makeup stains on the sheets and face towels which I didn’t appreciate. That aside, my overall experience was a solid 4.5 out of 5.

Riu reggae is a nice hotel with party/fun options. If you want a constant party all the time check out riu Montego Bay. If you want a combination of turnt and chill party then riu reggae is the place to be.

The resort was nice. It was clean and with great amenities. I loved the jerk chicken hut with freshly cooked food daily from 12-3. I wish they had a better selection of snacks available during that in between time of lunch and dinner when the restaurants were closed to transition over. The pools and entertainment were great with the option also to go over to the sister properties for more fun and entertainment. Check in was a little slow but that may have just been the time we arrived. The staff was nice.

This is the loudest hotel I've ever stayed in. The noise was inescapable. There's loud music all day—you can't relax or read a book. I literally paid a staff member to turn the music down. The guests are mostly drunk, loud, obnoxious Americans. The food was so-so. A few good dishes here and there, bust mostly mediocre. There's a constant shortage of towels, both by the pool and in the hotel itself. Guard your towel with your life. The dining and pool staff were mostly lovely. We had a few cranky staff members, but you can't win 'em all. I won't be returning.

My room air conditioner was not working properly. Someone came to fix it twice. The room started smelling mildew and stuffy.

My Husband and I overall had a great experience. The guest at this location was more on the loud and party vibe, we were looking to relax. The hotel staff was great, food delicious ... but our favorite part was the AMAZING ENTERTAINMENT!

The food was good and the excursions were good too.

We’ve been to Jamaica before and absolutely loved it, mainly bc of how fun and friendly the staff was. This was not the case at this resort. Some were very rude. If you don’t have cash on hand (while in your bath suit) be prepared to be ignored or scowled at. The one time I did bring cash down to tip, it was stolen within the hour. And the cleanliness was not great at all.
