Absolutely beautiful, friendly. Hard workers, especially loved ceclia our omelet lady. Always happy, she was fantastic. Italian was delicious, tried the steak house, food was very good, service not so much. Our first te we were rushed through dinner.. my husband got his dessert before i finished my meal. . Thought we would try a second time, still was not happy about service, food was ok..overall hotel, staff, fantastic. Would definitely come back!
We loved how clean it is, the design is so nice especially all the flowers around the pool area. We loved the food and the staff were so nice !!
The RIU Palace Cabo San Lucas is the nicest hotel I have ever been to. The staff works 24 hours a day cleaning every inch of the property. The care and attention given to each guest is so comforting. The property has the most amazing views and the Spa is so clean and the staff is so qualified. If you want genuine all inclusivity, stay at the RUI Palace. It is a great resort for any age.
Loved it here! Beautiful place to unwind and unplug. Very clean, great service. Everyone was so kind and everything was so clean. We will return!
Really love this resort. The only complaint is that they charged me for a person when I arrived when I had already paid. They said the name was not correct. I originally paid for 3 rooms and 5 people and had to cancel 1 room and 1 person. I went through Expedia. I really feel like they ripped me off. They said when we got there, I had to pay for the person(who was already coming) because Expedia didn’t inform them correctly and once Expedia contacted them they would reimburse me. Expedia did contact them but they denied it and wouldn’t reimburse. So disappointing on an otherwise great trip. Total scam I feel. Be warned! Both Expedia and Riu let me down here.
Good food , fast transportation, convenience
The amenities were great, as was the food. I found the size of the resort a bit overwhelming but did manage to find my way around. We did, unfortunately, have smokers either above or below our room and that was annoying. It made it difficult for us to enjoy our deck. I think the 'no smoking' rule should be enforced. We were impressed with the cleanliness of the place. Loved the swimming pool!
Wonderfull
Customer service was great. Property is beautiful.
Our trip started very poorly, as my wife and I had $2500 pesos stolen from our room the first night! This was a very uneasy feeling, after only one evening at the resort. Staff, meals, and resort are good, but unfortunately when an event like that takes place it doesn't sit well with you
Need to check outlets in the room. Some don’t work!
We usually stay at RIU property and this one didn't disappoint.
Such a beautiful property that is only 1.6 miles from downtown Cabo. Very walkable if you don’t mind walking Lots of dining options and good food. Our only suggestion: The Riu parties at the adjoining Riu, while I’m sure are a blast to people a little younger than us, were just not our night out thing. We would’ve loved to have some live entertainment, dancing whether Latin, rock or country at Riu Palace from 8- whenever. Maybe some type of show etc. We had a hard time finding in house entertainment before 10. It was hard to bridge those hours between dinner and 10pm there wasn’t a lot to do if the Riu parties weren’t your thing. Overall very relaxing, clean and beautiful. Great for couples with young children.
Beautiful property and grounds. Food was average, service was excellent
We had a wonderful stay for a friends 50th birthday! The cleanliness of the property was outstanding. Someone was always cleaning various area of the property. The restaurant choices were good. We enjoyed breakfast every morning and most restaurants for dinner were very good.
Amazing place!
Fun for the whole family
We had a wonderful vacation with family and friends. The facility had many events for all ages: the Rui Party at the sister hotel - Santa Fe - for the younger more energetic people, fitness and sun games round the one pool or a quiet more relaxed atmosphere at the other, lots of food and drink choices. All the staff were friendly and the service was great. The hotel was bright and cheerful with lots of flowering plants and shade trees. I will go back to this resort.
A staff and amazing food
Property was beautiful. Had everything we needed on site and couldn’t have been more satisfied. Once off property, street vendors were a little pesky. RIU kept them at bay off the property for the most part, but there were some inside the ropes and bothering guests.
Staff was friendly and helpful, everything was clean, great waiter staff
Although the decor is a bit dated and it is showing some wear, the staff do an excellent job of keeping it clean! The employees were always smiling and courteous and helpful. I can see how they take pride in what they do, which is amazing considering the size of the property and the number of employees it takes to manage and maintain not only the grounds, but the food service, bar areas and entertainment. Everyone was kind and helpful. We loved our stay there and will stay there next time we are in Cabo.
As expected for a very busy resort. Bed was a little too hard but rather that than too soft. The resort was fully booked but didn’t feel overwhelmed. I would come here again if I return to Cabo
We had a fabulous trip and will be back!
The room seemed beat up and not fully clean. The other areas around the property were great.
This place was awesome. The food was amazing and the staff top notch. The lady omlette lady from the buffet was so nice. Extra cudos for the lady who made tortillas…super delicious!!! Eloy at the pool with our drinks…never let us go empty. Love ❤️ it!!!!
We didn’t have transportation included for aeroport to hotel!!! Steam shower was out of order!
Fun
Enjoyed the hotel. Very clean and staff were great, very attentive. The shuttle service was confusing got sent around but regardless would definitely stay at this hotel again.
Not happy with hotel
Room was dated needed a lot of work, bed was horrible it felt like we where sinking, also the pillows where to tuff and huge. Food was mediocre at best. We opted for all inclusive will not opt for this going forward not worth it.
Overall excellent experience
The staff services wasn't too good, took long time for most simple requests, from an extra blanket to requesting for a beverage or a meal. The drinks were super sweet because of all the syrups used... I feel I have heavily overpaid for this hotel..
Amazing! Can’t wait to return!
The staff is great, the hotel is very clean. I would personally like the food and beverages to be slightly better.
Amazing property!! Gorgeous views!! Drinks are good and plentiful!! Food great as well!!! But the people here are the true gem!!!
Staff were very lovely and attentive. The restaurants were great, including the buffet with many choices.. the grounds were so beautiful and kept clean. We will definitely come Back
This place could easily get a 5 but the rooms will need renovated in the near future. The staff are INCREDIBLE Breakfast and dinner buffets were amazing Lunch buffet was meh. The resort was so clean. People never stopped cleaning every square inch of this place The views from the resort were extraordinary I can’t wait to go back!
Very clean and safe. A lot of activities for all ages.
I’ve been to Mexico at least 20 times and RIU resorts are awesome. We were there January 9-15. The staff is amazing, the resort was unbelievably clean our room was perfect. Food was good but DRINKS were the best!
The property was beautiful. There were several places to eat and the food was actually very good and a big variety. One of their adult pools had to close because a swim up table collapsed. Nobody was hurt and it reopened the next day
It’s a beautiful place and my wife and I will be back.
Our family of 4 loved the stay at RIU Palace! Check in was fast and they accommodated our two joining partial ocean view rooms. Clean, spacious and beautiful views from our deck. The buffet had a ton on variety and was very good. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. The beach and sand were absolutely gorgeous. We were able to go in the water a bit and more if you walk a couple of min to the right It was just what we needed. We celebrated my 50th bday there and was so excited to see a tiramisu bday cake in our room on my bday from the hotel. Great memories were had at Rui, Cabo!
Good size rooms, friendly staff, well looked after. Beach was not easily walkable and ocean nearby not swimmable.
Staff was very friendly and helpful! There are a lot of stairs in this resort and very few elevators.
Fun place to stay
The property is in great shape, well maintained, run, the food is excellent (in most cases). Amazingly hard working staff in all areas - restaurants and hospitality. However, there is very little to do outside the property. So if you came to Cabo to relax, have good food (sometimes very good food), unwind with friends and family - that’s perfect.
The food was actually good unlike the regular all inclusive resorts.
Parking was very Convenient, I was able to park my g wagon and didn’t get stolen or scratch.
Riu Palace is my favorite, the location is great & it has best view. The staff were so helpful & they provide excellent customer service, thanks to Miguel & Brenda at upper bar! Rooms were clean & buffet had lots of food to try. Will return back again :)
Loved the location Disliked the feeling of being obligated to tip
One of the best all inclusives, we've ever been to, super friendly staff, rooms were amazing and the beach was very beautiful. Food was really good too. Definitely a trip to remember.
We had a wonderful experience, but the dining options were not great. The general dining hall was very good except for the fruit which was not particularly fresh. The ethnic options (Japanese, Indian) didn’t really deliver. On the other hand the service was fantastic and the grounds are wonderful. I would definitely go back.
Beautiful hotel and room
We stayed in the room that had the ocean view with a hot tub and the room was so beautiful. The pictures on the site do not do it justice. It was a two level room with a full size closet, hot tub inside the room and on the balcony. The food was really good and we like that. The buffet stayed open until 11 PM. Lots of food options and the drinks were really good. We also like that we had access to the other hotels. 10 out of 10 recommend this hotel.
The property needs some updating, but overall the resort is fine. The food is terrible! It’s plentiful but not very tasty. They need to update their option for room see ice which are currently terrible.
Great view. Excellent staff.
Nice place
Our stay was great. Staff was amazing everywhere in the resort.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. Everyone is always happy to help in any way! It was a great vacation!
Customer service . Excellent whoever is in charge of room 4157 housekeeping excellent service . Room is always clean . The only thing needs a little improvement will be the lunch food choice and some dinner choices too . Need to focus on every night theme . Like if it’s seafoods night expecting to have oysters , crab legs and etc. Asian night will have some dimsum . The presentation of the food needed a little improvement. I expect more good quality of food in comparison with other Riu facilities . We visited Mexico 6x and most of the food choices are great . Riu palace needed to improve the food choices and the quality . Also need a little improvement with live entertainment. Need more improvement regarding the show . If it’s Mexican night , we expect a Mexican singer with guitar that will make the place more happier. More costumes and effects . This was the most expensive place that we stayed in Mexico so we are expecting more that the previous hotel/ resorts that we stayed . I will give the place 7/10. Just need a little bit improvement with the food choices and quality. More live entertainment.
The property is absolutely gorgeous!!! The staff is extremely friendly and very attentive. There are so many staff members and they act as a very well oiled machine. The food is amazing, the property is very clean. Would absolutely go back!
The property is nice and clean. However, the biggest problem we had was the high humidity in the rooms. The air is so humid our clothes got humid while hung in the closet. We even switched rooms once but it was the same story. At least on the 2nd floor. My brother's family has been staying there 3 times and theg had the same issue on that floor.
EXCELENTE PROPIEDAD
Fantastic property
I thought everything was wonderful and I really loved the accommodations and service. The only thing I feel needs improvement is the buffet food was barely warm. The hot food needs to be put on a hot plate to keep it warm/ hot . Ty
Very pretty setting, rooms good, bed uncomfortable but clean. Very noisy at night outside. No place to make change for American currency so we could tip.
I had very high hopes of having a good time in Cabo because I had a great times in Cancun, Punta Cana and similar places. I and my wife went there for 4 days. The first night we reached there at 11:30pm. We were very hungry as our flight was much delayed. When we went into the room... jeeze! first thing that came to my mind was "is this a 5-star hotel???". The room was fairly big. Furnitures were awful/broken. Curtains were torn/stitched. Sofa was like bought in from a second hand market. Anyway, we called for room service. All they had was sandwich and nachos. REALLY??? Ate it reluctantly as there was no other choice. OK, it was time to sleep. I called to get an extra pillow. Half an hour passed and no one came, so I called again. Some one came after another 20 minutes with two sofa cushions and said they don't have extra pillows. WHAAAAT!!! 5-star hotel and they don't have extra pillows??? That was our first night experience/impression. Very bad. Next day we called for breakfast and ordered continental b/f with fruits and hot tea. They bring 4 toast, 2 butter, 2 small pieces of pineapple, two small pieces of cantaloupe and some hot water. THAT'S IT for continental b/f. I had to call again for tea bags. They say they have 7 restaurants. We tried all of them. Except for the buffet place, other restaurants were pathetic. We couldn't eat one bite in the Bombay restaurant, not one bite in the Japanese restaurant. Food was served COLD. Preparation was as if it was made 2 days a
Overall the service was really good. Staff was always very nice and accommodating.
Noisy people
The rooms and property are clean and well kept. The servers in the restaurants are good and attentive. The bartenders at the pool are very good! They say they don’t take reservations for dinners, so you show up at 6:30 or 7 pm (a reasonable time to eat dinner) and they tell you they have no more seating for the night. You look in the restaurant and it is half full. When you ask for an explanation they say that you have to show up at 5:30, when they open, and put your name on a wait list. Then they’ll tell you when to come back - which is a reservation!!! They should just have a place where you can make reservations every morning for each restaurant. Guests could get in line and try to get a reservation or choose to eat at the buffet or leave the property. This way, the staff and chef could better prepare and guests could plan their day around their dinner plans. We’ve been to other resorts in Mexico that do it this way and it is very effective. Otherwise, the food is very good.
my only complaint was the quality of some food was mediocre. New Year's buffet was great!
Wonderful vacation spot!
We enjoyed our stay. Food was excellent! Extremely clean property. Rooms are a bit dated but very comfortable bed. Only wish was for an adults only pool and area.
Great location, beautiful hotel and friendly staff.
We came here for a family reunion and we were not disappointed. We were a group of 50 year olds with our 20 year old grown children. Palace is not super new but was very clean. Excellent staff tending to our needs and keeping grounds clean. Food was excellent, particularly the buffet. We could walk to adjacent property Santa Fe for parties and entertainment but it was much more crowded and loud -I was glad we didn’t stay there. At the Palace, NYE was especially magical. Pools were lovely and uncrowded and chair hogging was not a problem here. I would definitely recommend- classy and very nice stay
Food ok. Facility aging. Staff good. Surrounding area bleak.
Good: friendly staff, uber options, free parking Areas to improve: more specialty dinner choices, more swimming pool activities, USD ATM,
Review of RIU Hotel in Mexico: Key Points • Food Quality: Subpar, with poorly prepared meals and low-quality ingredients. The only acceptable meal was breakfast; the rest were dreadful. • Room Conditions: Musty and damp rooms with poor ventilation. Basic requests like extra pillows or blankets took hours to fulfill. • Towel Policy: Inconvenient and unreasonable, requiring guests to return wet towels to the pool area daily to avoid penalties at checkout. • Room Key Issues: Key cards stopped working daily, forcing multiple trips to the distant front desk. Staff was unhelpful and rude regarding replacements. • Rude Staff: Consistently unprofessional and unhelpful across all departments, from front desk to housekeeping and food service. • Unjustified Cost: At $1,000 per night, the services and experience are far below expectations. Final Recommendation Avoid this resort at all costs. The combination of poor service, substandard accommodations, and unappetizing food makes it one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve ever had. We hope this review serves as a warning to future travelers considering this property—spend your hard-earned money elsewhere. There are far better options that offer the quality and service you deserve.
The hotel is very clean and attractive but it is a bit dated. The adjacent beach is gorgeous and well maintained. The staff was excellent in every way. The all inclusive food was good but not great. The seafood was excellent. The other entrees were generally OK. The deserts were bad. The coffee and mixed drinks were average at best. I think a hot tub was available with some of the more expensive rooms but I didn’t have access to one. It was a little bit rowdy at night but it died down before midnight at the latest and you could sleep with all windows open. All kinds of activities were available. No one tried to sell me a timeshare. The guest population was diverse in age, nationality and language. The RUI Palace is a very good value. If your main purpose in going to Cabo is to eat gourmet food then this is not a great choice. But if you want to hang out on an excellent beach and sleep in a comfortable bed in a nice room in Cabo then this could be your place.
This is my second time at the RIU. palace. And I enjoyed it the same as the first. Decent food and the staff is always so nice and accommodating.
Overall, a great stay. We liked the different restaurants. The hotel was very clean and the staff were very nice. We never had to wait for drinks. The pools were great, we enjoyed the swim pool bar.
Breath taking views of the ocean. Beautiful property. Gym beach front with equipment facing the ocean. Food options were great and most restaurants allowed food to go pool side. Yoga by the palm trees. Clean and rooms well stoked. Service was perfection with multiple bars to choose from. Only con was entertainment. One show a night. Excellent stay! Would recommend this resort to anyone.
The property is beautiful with an amazing view and a great staff. I had a wonderful time here. Thank you.
The staff are always reminding you of tipping them. I tip well, but I do it without having to be reminded. It was distasteful and at times very annoying. I have been in multiple All-Inclusive resort and the staff made you feel welcome which led to bigger tips for them. Asked multiple times to get our in-room safe fixed and they never fixed it.
Average
Beautiful and AMAZING stay for my Fiance and I from December 21st to December 25th. We had the best time. Hotel is so Gorgeous, So many Beautiful ammenities, restaurants, pools , gym, Etc. Incredible Service and Employees that go above and beyond to take care of you. Ones that stood out and were extra special was Maria (housekeeping) America and Ariel at the (Buffet Restaurant) Jorge at Cappucino Bar and Lounge 3rd floor. Food was incredible, great quality and delicious everywhere we went to in the hotel. Along with the perfect weather, everything was so awesome. Magical paradise for sure and we will definitely be back. Lana and Robert from Las Vegas. :)))
Great place. Would stay here again.
Fantastic Christmas stay
Beautiful resort with a perfect ocean view! Close to town.
Amazing property for families. Very clean and food variety is great. The staff is very helpful. Best vacation ever.
Excellent experience! My family really enjoyed staying in the hotel! Think of coming back in the future.
I love the variety of choices, whether you think about food, drinks, or pools. One day, I was swimming in a warmer pool. The next day, it was colder.
Beautiful hotel. Had everything we needed
The food was very good with a large selection christmas dinner was above are expectation the beer was horrible with cheep spirts
This property wasn't adults only but there weren't too many babies around so it was doable. Also, they had mostly separate areas and I went before school let out for the holiday. Drinks were great, service was impressive. My room was beautifully decorated. I loved the food, I DID have their ice and I was fine. Bottled water in the room. The jasmine shower gel smelled delicious. As with any place, tip the staff, but even if you don't, they're so sweet. Decorated for Christmas- it was beautiful. The concierge has all the information you need to make your stay perfect. My only, minor issue was the cable was out (for the times I stayed in my room with a bad ankle) and there aren't many protein options that aren't pork. Had a FEW mimosas and i didn't care anymore lol. I will definitely come back, next time with a partner. Yes, I went alone. I felt very safe. Also, I'd arrange my airport shuttle through the resort next time. The one at the airport had ties to a shady, time share/vacation rental.scam group so when you get off the plane, don't stop until you get outside where you'll wait in the cab area. Amazing place! And stay here, you can go in and out of their sister properties. I didn't because I was alone, but I would've if I weren't.
Nice
Enjoyed my stay with you. Too many stairs to walk. Next time I stay with you I'm gonna get closer to Lobby. Overall I the trip to your hotel was excellent.
Always a wonderful stay. Super friendly staff. Hotel is older but in great shape. Super charming. Food is fine. I am looking to relax and be taken care of and that's what I got. Highly recommend.
Beautiful place was clean and staff was very helpful and professional
Very clean and large resort
We enjoyed this resort so much. The food was amazing the views and the staff was amazing. Highly recommend. We will be back.

Loved the grounds and how clean it was. Everyone in our group loved the little cats on the property they were very cute.
