Be careful around food you choose. We got food poisoned and stayed out for a couple of days. People ignoring no smoking signs inside and outside.

I gave 3 star because there is not clean in the rooms, toilet stinks. Also is very loud and noisy at night. Wanted a quiet room, but refused to ofer. I think they need a good remodel 😇

The food at the resort was amazing! The staff was a plus as well. The resort on the outside is visually stunning…but inside the rooms is totally different. The rooms were very dated and showed severe signs of deterioration. I disliked that the resort uses brown towels, so we really didn’t know how clean they were. The room was not the cleanest. A ROACH literally fell on my head one day when we walked in the room. On my 4 day trip, I saw a total of 6 roaches in the room. The hotel was sold out so we didn’t have an option to move.

Most staff were nice and worked hard , some however were a bit grumpy

The beach and pool areas were pretty good. We could hear the night entertainment from our room but it was not a deal breaker. Overall a really great deal for the price.

We didnt drink the tap water, but my daughter, son, and I all got sick with diarrhea on day 3, had fevers, and just didnt feel well the rest of our week. I also cut my foot on a broken pool tile which was loose on the bottom of the pool. The shower in our room was not hot, and our plumbing made groaning sounds when the shower was on. The building and pools are showing their age. The staff were fantastic! Next time we probably wont do another riu. We've never been sick before from an all inclusive and it really made for a hard week for my kids, which was supposed to be an awesome family vacation.

I liked that the property was kept clean and the staff were friendly and accommodating. I wish there were more food options & that the food was more flavorful. I think the rooms need to be cleaned more thoroughly (I found mold on my curtains & the towels smelled odd). Other than that, my experience was good.

Great resort for families with great beach, clean pools, kiddies area, lots of loungers, variety of restaurants. The buffet was particularly good in variety and quality. Shout out to breakfast gal Vicenta.

The property was great. the kids loved the pools and beach area. The kids pool slides need some upgrades The staff were very nice and kept everything clean. The only part that i didnt like was our specific room had a couple problems which were addressed. bit our friends did not have any problems with thier room- just bad luck for us

Overall, the price point is right for this property. The staff was hardworking and friendly although at times could use more in dining, pool areas. They were great with our kids, so nice. If somethings like pool chairs and pool were updated it would do a lot for esthetics. We definetely got what we paid for, but if looking for 5 star on a 3 star budget you will be disappointed

Transportation no good I paid too high price for route trip to pick up @ air port and bring me back but they schedule wrong time they cancel I have no phone to contact I have to call taxi with extra cost that NO good !!

I don’t believe my family will be staying at any further properties of RIU. The rooms were outdated and not very clean (rust was everywhere). The room that we actually got was completely different from the one we booked. It was a family suite with 2 bedrooms and common area. We got no common area and the “two” bedrooms included one with a little sofa sleeper for one. The sofa sleeper smell of urine /was completely worn in and not comfortable for someone to sleep on. The 2 queen beds in the other room were pushed together. The common area has the king size bed in it/only a tv stand. The rooms view was very pretty which looked out to the pool and you could see ocean but the position of the room on the property was horrible. The way the property was built allows for the entertainment space to echo through out the property. It was so loud that we attempted to use a sound machine but really only slept a couple hours at night. The restaurants did not give a proper description and were a let down. All were a buffet style except the steak house. The main buffet area with the Mexican buffet were the best to eat at. The steak house was horrible. Terrible service but also I was served an inedible steak it was so tough. The rest of the food was just bland/we had to wait over an hour to be seated when we got there 15mins after opening. There is no call ahead reservations. My family and I made the most of it and ended up going into town for a delicious Mexican dinner.

I was supposed to get a family room upon arrival. Instead i got two beds pushed together. The elevators dont work and there only in the lobby. The shower is small 3 feet by 3 feet to be exact. Underneath the toliet was dirty and smells. The dirty toilet paper you have to put yourself in a small paper bag eveytime. They are short on towels. No gym towels. Gym is outdated and old. Some machines dont work. The chairs are old and dirty. There is no waiter service poolside or beachside. No bathrooms in majority of restaurants. Service is ok in the restaurants. Staff friendliness is good. Food is good. Riu stage partys are cool.

We love the location and it’s a very nice and safe resort to stay with the family and little kids. The hotel towels/rooms could be updated and deep cleaned. The food is fantastic and staff is very nice and pleasant. Thanks

This was a pretty great resort. Gym wasnt the best and it was pretty far from town, but overall good!

We were facing shade all day and had no sun all day in the balcony. Made our room very damp and gloomy. We know it’s humid but we slept with air off as it was actually cold at night. You could see mold was building up in areas of the room.

Liked food and beach. Adequate beach and pool chairs. Property older but well manicured.

The grounds were beautiful, the staff was great, and there was a lot of nature on the beach. I wish they strictly enforced the no reserving chairs with towels. It was impossible for us to ever visit the main pool. All the seats were reserved from 6:00 a.m.

It was nice having multiple places to eat. We ate at each restaurant while we were there. The bathrooms/showers should be the first thing they update but it was fine. It was interesting how everything shut off when you left the room or air conditioner shut off when balcony opened. Great idea!

The property really needs a few more bathrooms in the public area. The bathrooms that are in the public area is not always working properly. It is really dark on the walkways after dark. More lighting on the paths would be really good. We had a great time. The staff are all wonderful. The food is good. The splash area for the kids is really good. The pills are nice. All in all we did have a great stay.

Leaving today! Had a wonderful trip! Heard this resort will be Reno’d in August-December. The pools were beautiful and had character! Iguanas and Nacho the duck hung out everyday. Water aerobics class was so fun! The beach by the resort was outstanding. We took walks every afternoon as the tide is lower and lots more room to walk. The food was really good! The Mexican and Italian were awesome! The steakhouse was busy so if you want in go early!!! We never got to try it. The Asian food was meh… The entertainment was amazing! They know how to put on a show. I really enjoyed the Michael Jackson night! The whit party was insanely fun, and was like clubbing. Got your face painted by resort for the party. It was awesome! Loved that they had lots of hand sanitizer to use after touching all the handles to the spoons. Was super clean. The rooms were nothing too special, but were clean and nice and cool. The one thing that did really bug me so I hope they change it. Is they have the smokers all smoke by the lobby, so the lobby always smelled like smoke. Would probably be better to have them smoke a bit to the side so it didn’t blow as much in the lobby. If you have any issues walking ask for a lower ground room as the elevator is quite busy. We were on sixth floor and did quite a bit of stairs everyday. All in all it was an awesome resort! Very family friendly! Great service, great food, great entertainment. Can’t wait to come back after renos next year!! Best Trip!

Beautiful

The food and staff were amazing. The property is showing its age, but kept up well except if you shower stinks just put a wet towel over the drain when not in use. The beds are very firm. Everything was in working order. The multiple bars and pop machines were very convenient.

Overall liked property!! Too many kids for me at this time in my life!! I also don’t care for all the pool chairs being reserved by people and not being used! I know every resort does this but this resort has so many people that there are no chairs available by 8am

Clean and friendly staff.

Staff is super friendly and easy to work with. Amenities are great. Pools are not heated so cloudy days are chilly. Easy to book extra services.

The thing I didn’t like is no service by the pool.

Food, entertainment pool, and beach were amazing! Very clean large property but easy setup to get around.

It was so difficult to sleep that my family ended up booking a different resort for the last few days of our trip. The yelling outside went until 2-3 in the morning, the beds were awful - hard and they felt wet from so much moisture in the rooms, and the dining areas were so crowded it was hard to find a seat. The food was decent, but it was the same thing every meal. Staff seemed stretched really thin, and while they were all incredibly kind, they were too busy to really be helpful. We had been to Riu in the past and had a very different experience. It is definitely not what it used to be.

Great place to stay. Not too fancy which was just right. Staff was very friendly and accomodating. Great food and overall amenities. Would definitely stay there again.

What a beautiful resort. The staff is wonderful. We wanted for nothing. Our experience was wonderful, and our expectations exceeded. We will returnagain and again. This resort feels like home away from home...except it is paradise! Thank you for a wondrous experience.

They property was good just need a little update on bathroom and shower and needs event shows

The rooms looked old and rundown. There was a leak in the bathroom , and it smelled bad. The front desk overcharged us and we requested a refund and we were denied by management. There was a musty smell in the room. Overall , we will not come back to this hotel.

We really wanted to love this property but it was really hard. When we checked in the room that was given to us was tiny for 4 people, and the toilet leaked. We asked for an upgrade and were able to get one 2 days after check in. The new room had 2 bathrooms, and 2 bedrooms. The space was much nicer however there was a pretty big leak in the ceiling and we had to keep a trash can under the leak. The rooms were clean however, just very musty. There was moisture on our windows every morning. The pool and beach area were great. The food is terrible… everything but the steakhouse was buffet style. Everything pretty much tasted the same. I would not come back to this resort based on the food. We ate at the steakhouse, ordered steak and I am not sure if it was even steak. It was by far the very worst steak I have ever tasted. We finally went off property to eat.

I love the consistency of RIU hotels. The staff is always amazing, kind and personable. I food is fine. It's never great or the best, but it's never bad! For the price, RIU is a great fit.

Food was a hit and miss. The steakhouse was terrible. The Italian was good. Had a complaint and after 6 days no one got back to me. Ran out of condiments.

It was clean and very safe

I am big fan of RIU and I use the ones in Cancun more. This one RIU Jalisco was good but not great. No waiters at the pool. The second day I stayed they didn’t bring me new clean towels. And also the sink and the wc were clogged. A bit disappointed of this RIU. Very probably I won’t come back to this one and I won’t recommend it to my traveler friends.

We moved rooms two times and finally got into our third room. The first two rooms had cockroaches in it. Hotel is old and outdated. Shows in the evening time were, just average. Way below what is normally expected for the price we paid. Pool had bugs and felt dirty. Specialty Restaurants were just average. Buffet felt dirty.

Just finished my stay and I would recommend this place to others. I think I will stay here again next stay. Rooms were clean and had everything you need. The restaurants were some of the best I had in Mexico. Very good service and great drinks.

Staff was amazing. Food was terrible. The Italian Restaurant food was the worst Italian food I have ever had!

Musty, moody smell in rooms. Shower pressure poor, water in shower luke warm. Entertainment very poor, especially for children.

Did not like the pool with constant adult oriented entertainment. We chose the Jalisco because it was “family oriented” If I wanted a constant miked party, I would have booked the “adult venue”

The hotel & property were nice. The pool could have been kept cleaner. Lots of bugs & trash in the pools from the beginning to end of every day. The food was not good & left a lot to be desired. The events & shows were great.

Service from staff was exceptional. Food was very good. Was able to access all the "special" restaurants without an issue (other than one, but it was an unusual situation). We aren't pool or nightlife people, so can speak to the shows, etc. Needed to make use of local medical services due and had no issues at all. 2nd time at this resort and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Las habitaciones son viejas, la cadena del baño no funcionaba y el aire acondicionado hacia mucho ruido, la calidad y variedad de los alimentos disminuyo en comparación a nuestra ultima visita. Los elevadores tiene algunos detalles como la falta de las pantallas en las botoneras, solo se le ven los cables :(

It was a lovely location and property, staff were friendly and helpful, some fun activities and very clean. I didn’t like it was very echoey and noisy. Too many kids.

We come to Riu first time. We like this resort and most probably will comeback next vacation. The stuff at the front desk very professional and good communication in English. The food in buffet, Italian and stake house restaurants very good. The services is good too. The room is clean. We like the beach very much.
