One of the most amazing resorts in Switzerland.

Hotel, restaurants and location are great - be wary though that it cost CHF150+ just to get to the front door once you have added up the parking in the previous town, taxis and trains - this is not communicated in advance by the hotel at the time of booking unfortunately.

The resort could not have been in a more beautiful setting staring at the Matterhorn. Conveniently located to walk or train to hiking locations. Staff was incredible

By far the best ski-friendly hotel at which I’ve ever stayed! Good food, charming and helpful staff, and perched mid-mountain among ski slopes of Zermatt. Unbeatable!

This is me and my wife’s second time staying at this resort since 2019 and it is absolutely wonderful from staff members to the newly renovated guest room. We will definitely be back next time that we come to Switzerland.

Amazing! Perfect ski in and ski out location with great view of the Matterhorn! Restaurants were amazing and all the staff was very kind and attentive! Truly paradise!

It was a great stay and the property is fantastic. The only issue we had was with the ski instructor who arrived late to our lesson and they charged us more than what they were supposed to.

Fantastic luxury hotel

Fantastic luxury hotel to enjoy after a long hike through the alps - loved the view, the pool, the attention to detail and the friendly staff who made for a wonderful stay.

Perfect Hotel

This was the best hotel I've ever stayed at. The location gave stunning views (especially in the outdoor pool), the service was superb with every staff member going above and beyond, and the food was amazing. Never been so sad to leave somewhere.

This is an amazing but expensive place to stay partway up the Gornergrat railway. Fabulous views of the Matterhorn, rooms, staff and pool/spa area. It’s just what we wanted as a special experience!

I first visited Zermatt 34 years ago and walked through Riffelalp before the current hotel was built. It’s just a perfect and unique location for an Alpine hotel and delivers true luxury while retaining a friendly and family like experience. I left yesterday and as usual I can’t wait to return.

Wonderful hotel with an absolutely amazing view

The location is absolutely perfect and our room had an amazing view. All of the restaurant and bar staff were extremely warm and welcoming. Loved it!

The best Zermatt hotel!

This is one of the most amazing hotels I have ever stayed at. It's truly a destination experience to stay here!

Wonderful vacation. Ski in and out with top grade everything. Getting to town is a train down the app which is a wonderful experience. Everything too notch and the team make it seamless in and out.

Loved it all . Attention to detail was amazing with friendly, helpful staff. The room was cosy & wonderful with fantastic bathroom & comfy bed. Could up grade the breakfast dining area just by removing the tall reeds in vases.

Would recommend to anyone - AMAZING

An amazing hotel and I would recommend to anyone. The only downsides are that the train up and down from the hotel are not included when this is the only way to get there and the only other thing was the pillows were paper thin and very uncomfortable. But other than that, everything was perfect and the staff could not do enough for you from arriving in Zermatt to when you leave

What a gem. Great views. Nice staff. Cute cows. The pool was great but closed very early even though it was an outdoor pool.

The setting is unbelievable. Even the experience of arriving is an adventure. However, the front desk staff, particularly Stephan, were rude and unhelpful. Because it was our first time in Europe/Zermatt skiing, we needed some explanation as to how the lift/train tickets coordinated and how we would get from place to place. We felt very snubbed when we asked these questions. If we walked by the front desk toward the bar or restaurant, we were not greeted unless we initiated the greeting. No where else in Switzerland did we have this experience. It really down graded the stay for us.

The​ hotel​ is​ very​ clean, big​ room, quiet, full of​ amenities​ with​ excellent service.And the​ view​ is​ very​ very Nice.You can​ see​ a​ Matterhorn​ from​ every​ area from​ this hotel, your​ room, Spa, restaurant.

Modern resort with a lot of amenities yet kept in a mountain cabin style. Most staffs are friendly and helpful especially from reception and housekeeping. Great view of the Matterhorn and Alps in general. However, some guests are rude and selfish whom probably just here to spend one night and think they own the right to make other guests uncomfortable and picking on staffs as well. I strongly suggest all guests to be respectful to other guests as well as staffs.

A flawless blend of service and scenery!

I recommend this hotel without hesitation. From the personalised pickup from the train, to providing tickets to the railcar up the mountains, to the quaint and charming minitrain to the hotel, arriving was a delight. Each and every employee had a smile and a kind word. I was travelling on my own, and with an injury to my leg, and I felt as well cared for as if I were in my own home. My bags carried, my needs accommodated. I received an upgrade to a lush room with access to a balcony under the Matterhorn itself! Dinner was spectacular, and Alcindo Costa, the maître d'hôtel, treated me like a queen, which is so special when one is dining solo! The bed was exceedingly comfortable, the turndown service unexpectedly lovely, and the detailed level of control of the lighting and curtains of the room right from the bedside was a fabulous touch. This spa and resort is very special, and made me feel as though I was a valued customer. In contrast with a miserable experience the day after in Sankt Moritz Hotel Steffani, this was absolute heaven. So grateful, and I sincerely hope I am afforded the opportunity to return soon!

Amazing Hotel

It was my 9th stay at this hotel and each time I return it is with the same great joy. In spite of the fact that I got a problem with my knee and after only one and a half day, I was not able to ski for the remaining days, I had a fantastic week. First, the location is just amazing... The staff is so professional, helpful and kind. The food in all restaurants is very good. The rooms are very cosy and equipped with everything you could ask for, and even more… far above expectations - they have thought about some small useful details both in the rooms and in the bathrooms, many of which you don't always find in other 5* hotels. The only little ”minus” that I wish to point out (and other people have expressed the same) is the fact that, in comparison with other 5* hotels, there is no soft background music in any of the restaurants - not even in the Waliserkeller which is supposed to be a more joyful place. This time I had dinner several times in Al Bosco and there were not too many clients so the silence was rather disturbing - the few clients hardly dared to talk normally and were whispering... All we heard was some noise of plates being moved and from the kitchen. Even in the bar during the day there is no music at all, totally silent, so it is not really inspiring to go for a drink in a nice atmosphere – you rather go to your room. In the evening from around 19h.00, there is some live music on an electronic piano. That said, I strongly recommend this hotel.

Fantastic Property!

Fantastic resort with amazing view of The Matterhorn! The pictures online don’t do it justice! You need to experience in person! Our room was lovely with plenty of space. All the employees are friendly, especially the Maitre D. Zermatt can be crazy crowded, but the hotel takes you step by step from the car park to their front door!

Beautiful view but isolated

Beautiful hotel with view of the Matterhorn. The issues are that you are isolated and they don't provide passes to and from Zermatt during your stay. Alcoholic beverages were too expensive.

Love the Remoteness

We visitited Gstaad, before going to Zermatt. While, Gstadd has a lot ot offer in shopping and dining, the Riffelalp Resort offered a whole new experience. We were running behind schedule and were not quite aware you had to take a small train up the hill to the resort which ran less seldom after 6:40. The staff actuall called me to check on us and our arrival. Not being famiar with the distance, I indicted we would be there around 6:00. Around 6:30, the staff called to make sure we were okay and our journey was okay and if we needed anyting. I have traveled all of the world and never had a Hotel or Resort to call and check on me- twice. Once the staff learned we would miss the 6:40 train, he asked if he could arrange dinner for us while we waited for the next one and would make arrangements for our luggage at the restauant and a cab which would be ready upon our arrival. This was the beginning of the exemplary service, which for the next five days, was exceptional. Upon arrival on the train, a snow mobile and sled for our luggage awaited us. Wasn't expecting that! -the proper gentleman, put our luggage on the sled, ask my wife to sit on the snow mobile and in an english accent, said sir "you may stand here and hold well to the basket" and we headed to the resort. Location -cannot be closer to the slopes as you can sit on your balcony and watch the skiers ski by. The restaruants at the hotel are excellent and have the style and grace of fine dining with a family feel.

Wonderful and extremely luxurious hotel-

First time in Switzerland and a wedding anniversary gift to my wife. Another great wonder -rooms has every possible luxury-the spa and pools in a class of it's own Breath taking view and setting Breakfast spoilt for excellent choices-the one and only failure -restaurant meals over price -setting great but meals not memorable experience. But I feel a excellent hotel Impossible to list all the good points A wonderful place to be stranded with a love ones/family A library would compliment or reading room-with a picture gallery with a local history journal

Outstanding hotel with a view of the Matterhorn

After the train ride up the mountainside from the picturesque village of Zermatt and a short tram ride from the station, we arrived at the one-of-a-kind, five-star hotel with beautiful accommodations and breathtaking views of the Matterhorn. Our charming room with detailed woodwork and walls of floral fabric, featured two balconies, both with an incredible view of the mountain. The tranquil setting, far from cars and buses, encouraged rest and relaxation. Seemingly limitless numbers of hiking trails were available from the resort or by taking the train to other stations on the Gornergrat railway. After a day of hiking, the "world's highest outdoor pool" provided relief with it's constant temperature of 95 degrees and multiple forms of bubbling action. The unique grotto in the spa area featured saline baths and waterfalls. We enjoyed dinners at Ristorante al Bosco and the breakfast buffet each morning. The beauty of the Matterhorn cannot be overstated. We left with wonderful memories of the Matterhorn at sunrise, the Matterhorn at sunset, the sky above the Matterhorn filled with thousands of stars, the alpine meadows lined with trails within site of the Matterhorn, and lying in the bubbles in the pool with a view of the Matterhorn. The lovely accommodations, the peaceful environment, and the beautiful location blended luxury and nature into a fabulous experience!

Vista espectacular acceso caro

La vista privilegiada. El hotel cómodo y muy atentos. Todo es de primera Lo único malo es que la única forma para llegar al hotel es un tren “interno” de esa zona y cada viaje redondo sale en 54 CHF (unos 67 dlls por persona) Así que si tu plan es disfrutar el pueblo quédate en Zermatt pero si lo que quieres son días de paz y tranquilidad estás en el lugar correcto

Hôtel incroyable

Hôtel magnifique à 2222 m d’altitude Piscine exceptionnelle avec vue sur le Mont Cervin . Restaurant Al Bosco : service très aimable et très bonne fondue . Bcp de tables avec vue sur le Cervin disponible Notre chambre : n*45 : chambre sous les combles donc des fenêtres hautes / pas de vue car elles sont vraiment hautes / pas de balcon . Je ne recommande pas cette chambre . Cependant literie ultra confortable / couette en duvet et chambre très calme. Petit déjeuner excellent Le service de navette est très bien organisé. L’hôtel nous a même transporté gratuitement nos bagages à l’hôtel à Zermatt où nous dormions la nuit suivante . L’hôtel possède un parking avec navette à Tasch :15 CHF / jour et service de taxi 30Chf / trajet jusqu’à Zermatt.

El personal del lugar es excelente, amable y servicial siempre listos para ayudar. En la recámara tienes todos los servicios disponibles para que tu estancia sea placentera. La ducha es inigualable ! En recepción puedes organizar actividades si así lo deseas. En el hotel hay Ping pon, boliche y hasta un kindergarden! La vista desde la piscina exterior es sin duda hermosa! A el lugar se llega en un tren adicional que está cerca de la estácion principal de Zermatt. El hotel es bastante privado ya que se encuentra arraigado de la sociedad así que no esperes tiendas (solo hay un restaurante), el restaurante del hotel es delicioso y hay gran variedad de opciones a elegir. Encantados con nuestra visita!
