I stayed in Marrakech for 9 days and at three Riads. This was the most disappointing stay. The staff met us for our airport transfer and just said, “follow me” no hello, no checking to see who we were. Just took off at an abrupt pace with no offer to help with our bags. We travelled light (just backpacks and one carry on suitcase) but still struggled to keep up in the heat with our bags following the staff through the twisting alleyways. We were asked to pay as soon as we arrived, they told us the card reader was only for larger payments (our total was over 100 euros) and we needed to pay in cash immediately. We didn’t have enough so out we went to get more from the atm. When we returned, they had no change and asked us to go out and get more to pay the next day. Our room was fine, if a bit lacking. Two towels for showering but no hand towels or wash clothes. The whole area is under construction and everything was dusty. The staff showing us the room turned on the light for us, it flickered and kept going out so she just turned it off and then left. The rooftop was a nice place to relax and the morning we left another staff offered us a light breakfast before we had to depart which was a nice touch. Overall, I wouldn’t stay here again. It felt dated, impersonal, and like we were an inconvenience for being there. If you’re on a budget and just need a place to sleep this will suffice. If you’re looking for an enjoyable stay, consider other Riads.
I'll be back
Hotel is in a prime location in Medina in a historic building. The staff were utmost accommodating and helpfull. The surroundings fairly quiet.
This is classic Morocco. You walk down alleys in the Medina to a traditional door with a small sign. Once you step inside, you are in a traditional home, complete with tiled central courtyard open to the skies (they have a roof that closes over) and a central fountain. My room was off the courtyard with a wooden grill over the window and shutters on the inside for privacy. It was a very quiet place, clean and comfortable. I had a glass of wine by the fountain and had a traditional dinner of Moroccan salads and lemon chicken tagine for dinner. (Breakfast was a banana because I don't eat wheat.) They arranged for a taxi to the airport. The driver arrived on time and walked me back out of the alleys. The airport is about 15 minutes away. The taxi, dinner and drinks must be paid for in cash. They accepted dollars, euros and dirhams. When it came time to run the credit card for the room, the machine wasn’t working. I was prepared to pay cash, but the attendant wildly miscalculated the exchange rate (over $20) and would not acknowledge his error. Finally, we were saved when the machine started working.
Very friendly and beautiful Riad, staff great, on site Hamam and massage highly recommended, breakfast tasty and useful though only continental. Nothing too much trouble for them, only downside is location is slightly concerning down a dead end alley which late at night can feel uncomfortable, though we experienced no real issues just one instance of begging.
Beautiful riad but hard to get to
Beautiful. Great service. Only a bit of a walk from the medina gate.
Very nice riad in the middle of medina. Good place to stay to visit the city.
Riad Viva Recommendation
This Riad is perfect for stay more than one day in Marrakech. The location is perfect. Everything is near. The people in the Riad are very kind. They answer all of your questions. The terrase is perfect to take the sun. The room was amazing with many facilities.
Very nice Riad, Convenient, Great Service and Food
Like most Riads in the Medina, you walk through narrow, dirty streets and then enter a doorway into a beautiful, charming oasis. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is typical for the area- very good, but too much food. We had ours on the lovely roof top overlooking the most expensive hotel and garden in Marrakech. Though a few steps away from the main square of the Medina, it was a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of being in the very center at the end of the day. The first night in Morocco, we decided to eat at the Riad instead of dealing with finding a suitable restaurant and it was definitely worth it. We are vegetarians and the food was marvelous!
Idyllic Riad, great location, first class service
Just came back from staying at the Riad Viva. This was my second stay and what brought me back was the beautiful roof terrace, great rooms all of which are decorated and furnished in an authentic Moroccan style, and excellent staff - especially Rahal - nothing was too much trouble for him and he really made my stay a memorable one. Thinking about going back a third time - that's how good it is.
Stunning Riad and amazing staff
My mum and I stayed for 4 nights in this wonderful Riad. Just on the outskirts of the medina, it was an ideal location for walking everywhere. It was a lovely neighbourhood and everyone was so friendly! The Riad itself was beautiful and just what you needed to rest up after the hectic hustle and bustle. We were welcomed in and made to feel at ease. Nothing was too much trouble and they treated us so well. All the staff were wonderful and so friendly. Amal gave me a massage and pedicure and was so kind. We didn't want to leave! Especially not from the terrace where we enjoyed sitting by the pool, listening to the birds and having food brought to us. It was a delightful holiday and i would thoroughly recommend this Riad!
Riad Viva
This place was very welcoming and comfortable. Our room was attractive, clean and spacious. The staff were very helpful and the cooking class was a great way to spend an afternoon. I highly recommend this lovely riad.
Charming respite, close to main market
We transferred to this riad for our last evening in Marrakech and am so glad we did. The walk to the main market was less than 10 minutes and we felt safe walking even at night. While our room was fairly small, the service was exceptional. The rooftop terrace, complete with a pool and lounge chairs were the perfect end to our holiday. The breakfast included fruit and yogurt in addition to breads and jams, which was a welcome addition. The staff went above and beyond to assist when we were faced with the bag handlers strike in Spain and sought cargo options for our luggage.
Top!
Service van het Riad was goed. Medewerkers regelen taxi’s of tuctuc. Alles in overleg is mogelijk.
A recommander.
Nice riad that offers value for money
Very nice riad in a good location that offers good value for money. Only let down was the breakfest the day of departure. We checked out early and we told that they would have a small breakfest ready. It was indeed small and much less than the day before. The guy at the riad did not care much and just replied that the shops were not open..

Central for most of Marrakesh city everything is walkable. Hotel was clean and quite considering how load the city can be. Very helpful staff
