Try a different Riad
Air conditioning was terrible! It was over 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Also, not the best area at least for me. Service was wonderful, staff was great! We also had booked a different Riad (not sure if it was this one or a different one, supposedly a "sister" Riad) but I never found out if the price was the same, which I think the one we stayed at was less expensive online. They never answered my question.
Beautiful Riad and great location.
Riad was very beautiful and comfortable. Manager was nice and friendly too. Food menu was also great. We enjoyed the massage too but hammam was a little small. Miscommunication over the billing led to an innocent double charge but we spotted it and it was quickly resolved. Overall a great stay and experience.
Awesome, safe, authentic
Awesome hotel. GREAT Breakfast. Totally cool experience, super authentic Marrakech experience... Safe and clean and comfortable. Right in the middle of the action... Literally 50-100 steps from the Souks (shopping market).
Great Riad in amazing location
Riad was great, the host was really helpful and lovely, breakfast in the morning good and location really amazing
Amazing Staff in the heart of the Medina
I loved this Riad, Adil was absolutely amazing and made the stay fantastic. He went above and beyond to help me with my car. He and the rest of the staff made it an incredibly enjoyable stay. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone going to Marrakech.
Lovely riad in good location
Lovely riad in a quiet but ideal location in the medina and very close to Jemaa el Fna square. Room was very pleasant, tastefully decorated and very clean. Good breakfast. Roof-top terrace with jacuzzi, sunbeds, and shaded areas was good to relax on after a day of wandering around the nearby souks. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Good value for money.n
Awesome cosy Riad in the centre of the Medina
We had a great stay at the Riad. The staff were super helpful and friendly. The location was very close to the centre of the Medina. I would definitely recommend staying here!
Nice hotel in the heart of old city Medina
Very friendly and hospitable hotel staff. If you're looking for a nice, comfortable and inexpensive accommodation this is your spot. It's located in what seems like the center of the souk area so there's always things to see. Medina Marrakesh: The people in general are eager to please and help you, so you'll never feel lost even if you travel alone (which I did 🙂). However, they are not shy about asking for a tip in return but no pressure to do so. Overall, I had a great short and sweet stay!
Beautiful Riad in the heart of Medina!
I loved the Riad Villa Wenge! It was beautifully decorated with modern moroccan touches throughout. The staff were extremely helpful and spoke english. It has an amazing terrace where we enjoyed breakfast the first day. The breakfast was delicious (juice, coffee/tea, breads, cheese, yogurt, crepes, fresh fruit, etc). The location was great as well, right in Medina. Can be a little confusing to find the first day but easy once you get the hang of it.
Best riad in the souks
We have a wonderful stay at this beautiful riad, would highly recommend. The rooftop was a beautiful retreat
Not worth it
Very small rooms with open bathroom. Felt cold and non Morrocon. I would avoid. We stayed at another Riad Karamela and that was much better
Excellent hotel in the Medina, Marrakech !!!
Excellent location, well presented hotel, staff efficient, lovely room and facilities.
Very lovely hotel and very clean.
Had a warm welcome from Ajib, day one ( hope I have spelt the name correctly) then from the next day until we left (one week) we had the lovely Mohammed who was very fluent in English and very very very helpful indeed. We enjoyed our stay and the lovely hospitality of the staff at the Riad.
Medina magic
In the heart of the medina, this gem is a perfect balance of comfort and affordability. Staff was attentive, room clean, breakfast delicious. Keep in mind it's in the soul so you will need to walk a bit or get the hotel to arrange a porter at their expense by calling before you arrive.
Lovely stay. Great location
Great location easy to find from Jeema el fna (less than 5 min walk). Incredibly quiet considering location. Wenge Suite is very nice and comfortable, with shower and separate bath. WiFi is fast and reliable. Hot tub lovely, but no pool. Staff very friendly and welcoming.
Nice hotel, close to centre, fantastic staff.
The bees threw us at first! Then we found out that Morocco had bees everywhere. The hotel had found a way to control them. The hotel itself was very nice. Loved our room. However, ordering a meal at the hotel is on the dear side better to go out for a meal. Also got better deals on adventures using local agents.
Perfectly located Riad
We stayed 3 nights at this Riad. Location is great but be sure to call the Riad before so they send someone to guide you. Decoration is very nice, lovely installations and the roof terrace is very relaxing, including the hot tub. We were recommended a restaurant close to the square which wasn't good, Rahba Lakdima small square is 3 minutes from the hotel and has 2 very good restaurants.
Very nice hotel
Excellent experience very helpful, friendly professional staff. Simon thanks for everything even to arrange breakfast earlier then hotel timings on our departure keep up with the good work
Different experience
Not used to staying in these types of hotels which is probably why I didn't enjoy it as much. The hotel was ok. Bathroom needs to be cleaner. Room Was very nice! Good location for the main square.
Great location
Great location & staff could not have been more helpful & friendly
Exceptional service, great location excellent Riad
The customer service ethos at Riad Villa Wenge is apparent from everyone who works there, or who is sub-contracted by the hotel. The driver who transferred us to/from the airport, the porter who carted our bags through the mesmerizing maze of streets to reach the Riad (and insisted on buying us bottles of water en route), the ladies who provided in-house hammam and massage, the restaurant staff, the maids who kept the place spotless, the night staff, the private tour guides, and especially Fouzia on the reception desk – from everyone, we experienced throughout our 6 days stay a level of service that was welcoming, friendly, accommodating, and exceeded our expectations on numerous occasions. Truly exceptional customer service. The location is perfect for walking to all the sights, souks, and eating places in the Medina. Despite being just 2 minutes’ walk from the hubbub of the souks and Djemaa el Fna, the Riad’s location provides a welcome peaceful haven. We stayed in the Red Room, which was very comfortable and clean. The Riad itself is attractive and modern, and we liked that it had in-house spa services, and a roof terrace with sun beds and Jacuzzi. The healthy fresh breakfasts served each morning in the restaurant were excellent and nicely varied. We had dinner one evening in the restaurant, and this was outstanding (we chose the tasting menu). An excellent Riad that contributed much to a memorable stay in Marrakech. Thank you, Fouzia, and the whole team!
Great hotel in the heart of it all
When we arrived our taxi driver showed us to a porter who took us to our hotel which was needed otherwise would have never found it! But the hotel was close to everything and in the heart of the Medina. The staff were super friendly especially Braeme who actually walked us to a hotel when we got hungry around 10pm - he didn't have to but he was happy to leave the hotel to show us this restaurant. The hotel organised an adventure day (camel riding and quad biking) for us which took out the stress for us and all we had to do was walk to the square and get picked up by our transport which they had organised.
Definitely worth a stay
What a fabulous tranquil oasis in the heart of the Medina!!! My wife and I have just returned from a short break in Marrakech and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Riad. The staff were absolutely fabulous and always on hand to assist with queries - however trivial. Breakfast exceeded all our expectations and the room was comfortable and clean. The location doesn't get much better - less than a minutes walk from Jamaa El-Fna square. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back.
Nice Hotel. Good location
A very nice hotel and surprisingly quiet as it is in the heart of the Medina and only a couple of minutes walk to the main square. Staff very friendly and helpful. We had the Wenge Suite which was very spacious and was good value.
Great
great stay and staff were very helpful and nice. The riad was quite difficult to find as there are no signposts and down small streets. Good location overall the best place ive stayed in Marrakech
Hidden away
Excellent short break in Marrakesh. Hotel arranged transfer or we would have never found the place but it was perfectly situated for the main square and all its attractions. staff friendly and helpful.
Nightmare maze
Our stay was fine and the host and hostess were incredibly nice and helpful. However, getting to this Riad was a nightmare! Proximity to the Jemaa al Fna was great but navigating the dingy souk was not fun. Beware of "helpful guides"...their mission is to rip you off. I would not stay here again just because of where it is situated.
Great staff and great location
The staff at this hotel go the extra mile to ensure you have a comfortable stay (even waking up at 3AM to make our breakfast).
Riad villa wenge
Small but very cozy, quite and clean. Staff vey accommodating and friendly. Slept very good after a long trip from the desert.
Comfort close to main square
Hotel was difficult to find, but very close to main square and markets. The decor and cleanliness were great and staff were very helpful.
Relaxing stay in great location
The hotel staff were great, really friendly and very helpful. The Riad is ideally located in the Medina, close to the markets and cafes/restaurants. It felt very relaxing coming back after passing through the Medina, it was nice to sit on the rooftop, which has a jacuzzi. I would definitely recommend this Riad, and stay here again if I was to come back to Morocco. The only negative I would say is you can hear people moving around the Riad and eating breakfast from the room. It didn't bother us too much as we were up fairly early each day, but might have irritated us if we wanted a lazy morning!
The Riad exceeded expectations for design style (60's Modern - very crisp). Location is superb- in Medina, 120 meters from Sq, but quiet. Very good value.
Good experience
- nice side of souks - manager can get things done - renovated so it's nice a bright - cheap laundry service - decent breakfast Caught it on a deal at 68/night so it was well worth every dollar
Amazing riad and staff.
Amazing riad with staff who can do enough to make your stay special. We stayed for 4 nights over new year and it was so relaxing. The riad is an oasis of calm away from the hustle and bustle of the main square. We slept late on new year eve so we thought we had missed breakfast, but the staff had saved it for us. Amazing. Cant wait to go back.
Super Riad. In great location
We had a great stay here at Villa Wenge. It's in a great location that gives you easy walking access to the heart if the city. The staff were excellent and did everthing they could to ensure we had a great time. Nothing was too much trouble for them for anything we asked for. Their breakfast was excellent and a great start to the day. Lovely to sit out on the roof either for breakfast or for a nice drink as the sun went down.
Exceed expectation, excellent value for money.
The Riad is situated in the heart of Marrakech, within easy walking distance of the Museum s, places of interest, markets and a variety of restaurants. The Riad arranged a half day personal guide for four of us to see the places of interest in the city, great value for money at 15 Euro per person.
Amazing time in marrakech. Staff can't do enough for you.
Great Hotel!
Stayed here with my partner in December and it was a lovely hotel. Staff were amazing and the room was great. You will need to get the hotel transfer as it is a little hard to find but when you know how to get to the main square then it is easy. Great breakfasts in the morning the the food for lunch was stunning.
Cozy place in the Old Medina
If you want a western style hotel with a lot of services, this is not your place! This Riad is an authentic, beautifully designed Morrocan building. The staff is very, very friendly, the rooms are cleans well designed and big enough. Those who work there speak good English and are very helpful. We were on the second floor in one of the suites. There's a cable TV with a lot of channels and there's also Wi-Fi access in the first floor of the riad. It is great to have a coffee at the top terrace under the morning sun, which we did. The hotel is good if you want to see authentic old Marrakesh, not the tourist New Medina. The museums, the spice market and many souks are 3-5 minutes walking distance. The Riad Villa Wenge is next to one of the largest souks.
Wonderful Riad
If you want to be near the action of the Djemma El Fna then the Riad Villa Wenge is perfect. Easy to find down the backstreets of the souks, a five minute walk from the main square and an oasis of peace in the noise of Marrakesh. The staff were very friendly, the breakfast was fantastic, the room comfortable and clean, while the rood terrace was a great place to relax. Would recommend to anyone, or, as my girlfriend and I said, its a million times better than the Travelodge in Reading
good riad, close to the main action
difficult to find if you are unaccompanied (like may riads in the medina), but friendly staff and a good choice for my family and me for a few days prior to heading into the mountains - it is about 5 - 10 minutes from the main square where all the evening activity is focused in the medina.
Cosy medina very close to jemaa el f'na.
Just returned from a comfortable short stay at this riad. As i was on holiday with a friend, rather than partner, the lack of bathroom door took some getting used to. The staff could not be more accomodating or helpful. Note to future travellers: please arrange airpoort transfers through the riad to ensure comfort and price.
Good choice for the Medina
We booked a room for three nights in this comfortable riad having canned the hotel to which our tour operator was planning to send us. It is situated off the Berber Market, to the North East of the Medina, so it takes about 10-15 minutes to get from a bus/taxi drop off and across the main square (the riad will arrange a porter with a trolley for your bags - cost was 20dhms.) It would be difficult to find if you are unaccompanied (but they will come and meet your taxi), but well located within 5 - 10 minutes walk of the main action in the Medina. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and there is free wifi downstairs. Breakfast was included and can be taken downstairs or on the roof terrace. Staff were pleasant and helpful, and friendly to our children. Overall, a good option and I would certainly consider staying there again.
Great hotel
Amazing hotel and staff. Would definitely stay here again. Close to suuks/shopping. Easy access to taxi and excursion deals. Lots of restaurants available. Only downfall is finding the hotel. It is located in behind the markets.. Got lost many times trying to find the right turns to take, however, people are very helpful and will walk you to the location (with a little tip of course). Everything is rather cheap so it balances itself out. Loved it!
Lovely riad
Would definately stay here again if I go back to Marrakech and would recommend to friends.
Marrakech hide away
Pleasant place to stay in the bustling Medina of Marrakech
Comfortable, relaxing raid in the Medina
While not the easiest to find (the map on their website could be better and they need a proper sign on the door), this was a cool, calm and comfortable riad in the medina, located close to the Djemaa El Fna. Our room was spotless, and service was very good. The price we paid offered good value relative to other riads. I would definitely recommend it to other travellers.
Book it Now
Sammie, Moustaffa and the entire staff are a sheer delight. They are committed to an incredibly pleasant and stress free stay. We were lost several times in the huge and crazy medina and called Moustaffa for help. He literally sprinted to our rescue in the spice market and calmed a situation that was unnecessarily brewing with a local bad guy. The villa staff are attentive, thoughtful, and provide great guidance on how to spend the day. They even offered local healing treatments when I suffered from cold/flu symptoms, prepared us for taxis, guides, etc. They were exceptionally accomodating when there was a conflict with our original booking. Simply put, we did not want to leave because we had such a feeling of peace and trust with Riad Villa Wenge. I highly recommend this Riad when in Marrakesh! Book it now.
A delight in every way
Keep in mind that one should never attempt to find any riad inside the old city walls without careful arrangement with the hotel who will send a porter to meet your taxi or bus. We thoroughly enjoyed the warm hospitality and professionalism of the Manager and staff. We had a lovely dinner as well that was delicious. If you are a late sleeper you may be a tad bothered by other guests enjoying their breakfast as they will be heard given that all rooms open onto the garden dining area. You would enjoy being here I am sure.
close to the centre of Marrakech
Excellent
Quiet and relaxing riad
The riad was generally great and the staff were more than helpful. The riad is located in a quiet side street a few minutes walk from the main square and is a perfect location. Breakfast was different every day and very pleasing although the coffee could have been hotter! We would have liked tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Hot tub on the roof terrace was great. It was helpful that the riad staff let us use the facilities until late afternoon on the day that we left and to leave our baggages there during the day. all in all a very pleasant stay in a lovely riad.
Pretty Riad Villa Wenge - perfect location!
Me and my sister went to Riad Villa Wenge last week (15-21Sept 2012)... We had an amazing time, located in the Medina close to the square. Location location location is all I say when it comes to it, perfect location close to all Marrakach tourist attractions. The Villais very pretty, clean, quite and very therapeutic in the otherwise busy and noisy Medina. Breakfast is very simple, more options would be ideal... Fruits, cereal and eggs! The place is maintained really well. Bedrooms were very comfy and beautiful as we moved between the sweet suit, the white room and the green room. The staffs are very polite and nice. However there is a language barrier except for Adil who speaks good English. We had one issue while staying at the Villa: one day me and the sis decided to go Esauiera for a day which we made the staff aware, however when we got back from our trip we were told that they moved our things to a different room without our permission. That was very upsetting and was very disgusted. We spoke with the manager who sincerely apologise for what happened. We also had the pleasure to meet the owner and who was very helpful in a sticky situation with our transfer to the airport who offered us for her husband to drive us to the airport. Very kind of her. Overall, We had a wonderful tin in Marrakech and also at the villa. Would recommended to everyone except when you go to the villa ask for any changes that might happen while you are staying with them.
nice hotel but unfortunate incident
nice hotel. very comfortable. authentic. wonderful terrace where you can sit or lie down to count the stars. two issues: 1. hotel located in a quiet place - if want to stay out late after 11:00pm, may present an uncomfortable 3 minute walk back to hotel because all the streets are deserted and dimly lit. 2. taxi ride to hotel 70 dirham for large taxi and 30 dirham for small taxi. had hired porter arranged by hotel waiting for us at drop off just in front of market square when we arrived at approx 9 pm. thought porter was part of hotel and tipped porter 15 dirham. unfortunately, did not realize porter was a hired hand, and he wanted 50 dirham for his portering of our luggage from the square to the hotel (10 minute walk). somewhat embarrassing and confusing moment when the porter stood there impatiently waiting for more money. I suggest the hotel include the fees upfront, or inform the guests that there is a 50 dirham charge, to avoid the confusion. I am told the charges may be more if we arrived later - again, they were unable to say how much more. when we left, we took our own baggages out to the square and flagged a taxi without troubling our porter. (incidentally, we saw a similar porter advertising his services with a similar cart for 38 dirhams).
Good start, bad end!
This Riad is in the heart of Medina near the famous square. It is very chaotic with many motor bikes and cyclists speeding down small lanes and alleyways on your journey to this Riad so you have to walk to the side for safety to ensure that you don't get knocked down! You will also get hassled by many of the stall holders insisting that you should buy from them. The very unhelpful taxi driver who tried to overcharge us just dropped us off near the square and we had to find the Riad with an aid of a stranger. Without that person, we would still be looking for the place! I would recommend using the number 19 bus which you can locate outside the airport which drops you off at the same place as the taxis and is also a cheaper option. Like most reviewers, this Riad is in a relatively good condition but lacks the quality to give the 4 star credential to which it boasts. Also, as previously mentioned, there are no doors to the shower or toilet so it may not be ideal if you are travelling with a friend (due to a lack of privacy#. There is no mini bar or fridge in the rooms, no table #for the use of a laptop# and I could only find 2 power points which were behind the headboard of the 2 single beds #not easy accessible). We stayed 3 nights; 2 of which were enjoyable until they asked us to change to an inferior room to accommodate 2 other guests and in the end, we demanded a move to a new Riad/Hotel. Hardly a great way to treat your paying guests is it?
A little bit of luxury
The only thing that was a little difficult was finding the place. Once we arrived in was very beautiful, slightly Japanese style. We were welcomed to our room and offered cold beer, water or tea - we opted for beer as it was the first beer we had all week. We also had dinner at the restaurant in the Riad which was really delicious and lots of food, it was a little more expensive than we were used to but it was higher quality. However one thing that was not good was the wine, we were offered it with dinner and it was not drinkable - not really sure what we were expecting, but I would definitely stick to cold beer.
Nice Oasis in a Sea of Chaos.
I liked my room and the Raid was quiet, nicely decorated and the staff, especially Adil, were excellent. The location was good if you want to be in the old city. I felt the breakfast could be a little more varied. It was crepes everyday, white bread and a white bread bun so a lot of white flour and little else except orange juice and coffee. Eggs or cheese and especially fruit would be better. Riad Wenge was great but I would warn travellers about Marrakech. The shop keepers are a constant nuisance including the ones around the Riad. Everytime you walk by the store they ask you why you have not bought something. Then they tell you it is a poor country and you should help them by buying something. Fake guides are every where and you are pestered frequently for money. Taxi drivers are variable and the main square is full of hawkers and the acts are tired and the treatment of monkeys and donkeys etc depressing. People that tourists meet are only interested in money and the city has lost much of the charm it apparently held from the late 19th century to the 1970s. Hard to imagine Mick Jagger or others discovering themselves in this city. Fez is a much better option.
Great hideout in the middle of Medina
The Riad is located just of the main square which proved to be ideal, close enough to the action and quietly hidden away to enjoy a peaceful rest. The hotel appears as depicted in the pictures with the air condition unit keeping you cool. Although the staff speak little english, they are very friendly and very helpful.
Very nice Riad
Very nice Riad, would recommend. Clean and tidy with nice decor.
Riad Recommended
Our flight was delayed getting us in to Marrakesh after midnight but this was no problem for pick up. The Riad staff adjusted their schedules accordingly. The staff was extremely friendly and always willing to help and any emails sent in advance were responded to very efficiently and punctually. We had originally planned on staying two nights but turned this in to five as the Riad was a superb quiet haven from all the hustle bustle only a few minutes away and a great place to return to after the many one day trips that are available out of Marrakesh. The Riad is very clean and organized and the rooms have a modern contemporary look while still in the Riad style. While imposing at first to find the location through the narrow lanes, once it has been done (while remembering certain landmarks), it becomes second nature and is quite straight forward to get away and back again. French is the main language spoken but 'anglophones only' do not need to be concerned as the broken english is easily understood and they understood everything we were asking. This was a great place to stay and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a Riad experience just a stones throw from the square.
Very hard place to find but nice once you find it
This Riad is really hard to find. Taxi's can't take you all the way there becuase it is right in the market. You can get people to cart your bags and things there if you are able to find one. People will try to help but as this is Marrakech they will want you to give them money for helping you. When we got there the man I guess is the manager was helpful showing us around and bringing us some mint tea. This was great after all the time it took us to find the place. There did seem to be renovations or improvements going on at the time that we were there so some things did not feel finished and the drill on the stairs was a bit worrying. But it should be fantastic once it's all done. The breakfast was lovelly and is served in the courtyard on the ground floor. There is an amazing roof top terrace which would be a great spot to longe around during the day once the markets gets too much.
Abdul Complimenti!
Me sorprendió
El hotel es encantador sobre todo el trato y la comida, si repito marrakech no me cabe la menor duda q me hospedare en el
Sådär boende men bra läge
Tolles Riad

Likes: Close proximity to Jemaa El Fnaa Square. Dislikes: Property is not sound proof, had to be whisper when speaking during breakfast, this is not how it should be.
