What a fabulous place! So different from anywhere I’ve stayed before. Beautiful! And as for the staff, so, so good. They could not have been more helpful. Breakfasts were amazing.
Our stay at Riad Safar was fabulous but especially our wonderful hosts. Laaziza and Hammid were so accommodating and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Lasziza especially was truly a gentle and lovely soul. The coffee was excellent and the pool terrace relaxing and quiet. A great stay all round and would recommend this Riad if you are visiting Marrakech
Beautiful and traditional Riad
Beautiful Riad with calm and relaxing atmosphere after the hustle and bustle outside in the streets of Marrakech. Perfect place to stay with helpful staff.
Lovely Riad close to Souks
Lovely Riad, friendly staff, accompanied us to and from airport shuttle. Very quiet place to stay, stones throw from Souks and easy walk to main square, restaurants etc. Highly recommend.
Lovely hotel, very friendly host
Lovely renovated boutique hotel. Very friendly hosts but you should have at least a bit of French language skills in order to communicate with them. The room was very cozy. Please also note that this hotel is in a very small and quiet dark alley (even during the daytime) and as such might be not the place for the faint-hearted.
Great experience..
Very nice traditional Riad. Centrally based within easy walking distance of most tourist attractions, restaurants etc. Food in Riad also very good, we ate there twice during our 5 night stay Breakfast great with something home cooked every morning.. Staff very helpful & obliging. Pick up from airport also appreciated as Riad can be a bit difficult to find initially, but soon got our bearings. Better lighting in alleyways would be beneficial, although never felt unsafe. A torch might have been helpful when returning in the evening.
300+ year old authentic rial style home
Outstandingly authentic 300+ year old privately owned riad style (central garden/courtyard) three story home. Quiet, simple but elegant, personal (four guest rooms total) touch service, exudes the desert legacy without the usual generic big box chrome and glass hotel experience. The hotel itself is worth the trip, add in the fact that it's situated in the middle of Marrakech's centuries old medina and it's well worth the trip.
A fantastic stay
You must ask them to cook a meal in for you it was the best food we tasted during our stay. We had dinner in 3 out of the 5 nights. A lovely couple manage Riad Safar, whatever they are paid it is not enough!
Tranquility from the madness..
Riad Safar was in a great location and the breakfast was excellent. Only a short walk to the main square and 10min cab ride to the airport... Brush up on your French before you go, as they speak French in the Riad.. Great stay, highly recommended
Excellent location
Once we got our bearings, we found this Riad to be perfectly located. It is just outside the madness of Souks. Hamid welcomed us & did everything he could to make sure we were happy. Very clean and beautiful inside. We took advantage of the roof gardens every evening. Would recommend having a glass of wine whilst watching the sun go down on the highest deck.
Very authentic
The Riad is very central, you really are in the centre of all the action but finding it is difficult and need to go down lots of winding paths and tunnels which is a bit daunting although seemed safe. The main issue is finding the Riad after being out especially at night the manager in the Riad booked our restaurants and they did accompanying us to find the restaurant whichever as very helpful. You can visit everywhere on foot but if you want to get a taxi they drop off point is still a good walk from the Riad. Once inside the door of the Riad it is very beautiful and perfectly renovated It advertises a pool but I would call it a plunge pool as it is very small. Most people speak French rather than English so if you speak French that's good
Great Raid in a very good bit of town.
Beautiful Riad. We really enjoyed our stay. It was relatively cold in Marrakech in February (of course) Unfortunately we weren't in the room that has an open fire (the family room is the one with the open fire). The building is rather open to the elements and so you will feel the cold outside of the summer months. The WiFi is a bit flaky at times, slow but passably good. Other than this, no complaints at all. The Riad as I said is really stunning, great roof terrace, really wonderful decoration and condition throughout. The welcome is good, lots of free mint tea when we requested it, and the meals there are fantastic and good value. We had a second meal there on the night before we left and we're glad we did. The Riad is easy to find, you will have no difficulty as long as you arrange for someone to meet you the first time you go there. The immediate area is fairly gentrified for Marrakech - certainly a great spot to base yourself from. I would recommend this Riad to other people coming to Marrakech for sure.
Great riad
Very friendly staff, tranquil location, easy access to all of the main tourist locations (once you find your way around Marrakech). Personally met from the airport transfer taxi so we didn't get lost on our arrival, with advice on general direction to the the Jamaa El Fna and the souks en-route. Comfortable, spacious room (we had a junior suite). Breakfast served on the terrace every morning, and the evening meal we had was really good. Highly recommended.
A Quiet Oasis in the Hub of the Medina
A very authentic yet rustic-opulent Riad. Lovely staff, Delicious and filling breakfasts and the best Dinners we had were at the Riad. Quiet and relaxing.... we had the place to ourselves as no one else was staying, so we felt truly spoilt. Pure indulgence for adults away from the chaotic souks and square. Late afternoon we would sit on the roof terrace and play cards till we were too hot, then slide into the plunge pool to cool down.... Marrakech was an eye opener but I can truly say I was sad to leave. I really hope to go back and would definitely visit Safar again ! A wonderful 3 night trip :)
