A few of the taxis did not know where the riad was but we finally found someone who did. We were dropped off in the street and given vague directions of how to get there through narrow winding streets. We had to ask directions from someone but eventually found it. We arrived a little earlier than 3pm but a warm welcome awaited us. I had asked for 2 single beds so the room had to be rearranged for us. The riad was beautiful, amazing artwork, furniture, pool and a wonderful rooftop terrace. Sorry we weren't there a bit longer really. They arranged a taxi for us to go to the airport the next morning at 8am and actually walked us through the streets to the taxi. Some confusion over an early breakfast but we got there in the end. I would definitely go back. It was lovely.

Amazing Stay!

My husband and I stayed here and absolutely loved our time here! The service was beyond our expectations, the food was great, our room was very cleaned and had everything we needed. The hostess went above and beyond to ensure our stay was pleasant. The location is perfect. Short walk to the markets and the main attractions. We will love to go back! Totally recommend!

Just outside the walls of the new palace, easily walkable to all main attractions but far enough away to feel immersed in the local culture. Lovely view from the terrace. Breakfast was always very good and everyone extremely helpful. The pool was a bit too cold for February and our apartment was on the ground floor which meant there was some street noise. However, would be happy to stay again.

The staff and service was excellent. They made us feel so welcome and relaxed at the property. The riad is in a quiet place and although cars cant get to the entrance of the road, you can easily walk to the place from the main street. Tucked in a little corner and although the outside might not look impressive, the inside is certainly as reflect in the picture. Unfortunately, I was looking forward to swimming but we couldnt use the pool as the water was cold. Also note there is no actual spa in the riad but the owner can easily recommend some good places for you which are close by. Breakfast was nice and typical morrocan styled, there is option to request for dinner should you wish to and you just need to give the staff a heads up. Overall, i had a pleasant stay at Road Nafis

My first time staying in a Riad. It really is like living in a pleasant house, so don't expect as much privacy or isolation as you might get in a typical hotel. It's a lot more intimate and close quarters. I enjoyed staying at the Riad Nafis - it was comfortable and you were well looked after. Yassine, the owner, went above and beyond in trying to assist me after I left my wallet in a taxi. He was always happy to help and welcome you as were his team. I happily recommend.

Anniversary trip to Marrakech

We loved our stay at Riad Nafis. The owner was very friendly and helpful, with excellent English which was a relief as my French is not very good. The service is very good, on par with a 5 star hotel. The room was very comfortable, it is not palatial, but is very nice and a great value. We enjoyed the location, it was 10-15 minutes walk away from the main square and was a little less hectic, though I would not say quiet. There are 24 hour guards at the adjacent Royal Palace so the very unassuming little alleys to access the Riad feel safe at all hours. The Riad is a little confusing to find at first and looks very plain from outside, but this seems to be common with riads in Marrakech. Yassine arranged several great excursions for us and also arranged a romantic dinner at a very nice restaurant for our anniversary. The personal touches that he arranged for us for dinner were a wonderful surprise. I included a picture of the dinner setting, even though this is not in the Riad. There was also a stork's nest on a nearby mosque that was very visible from the rooftop terrace and a great photo opportunity if you have a good camera (I only had my iphone)

It was as beautiful as the pictures, the staff were really friendly and attentive, the pool in the heat of the day was fantastic, and it’s only a US$1-3 ride from the main square. Lovely riad with excellent service. The riad itself was very nice and our room was clean. Breakfast was amazing- fruit, yogurt, lots of bread/pastries, coffee/tea, orange juice, eggs. Within a 10 minute walk of the main market square. You do have to carry your stuff a short distance (2-3 minutes) because cars can't reach the raid, the roads are too narrow (this is very common). Would dedinitely recommend!

Really good owners and staff, nice breakfast. Safe area as next to Palace walls and close to main square. Nice rooftop terrace. Our room was twin on ground floor and would not book this room again as toilet functions can be heard by guests having breakfast due to thin internal window. Lack of privacy very disconcerting. We were taking by a porter to the wrong place and owner came and found us. Also allowed us to leave bags after we checked out as we had shops to visit before we left town. Great service.

Nice Riad with Lovely People

My brother, cousin, and I travelled throughout Morocco and Riad Nafis is was by far the best place we stayed at. The room was clean. The terrace and pool made the riad even better. The staff were exceptionally accommodating. The riad was a little hard to find at first, but someone was there helping us with our luggage and leading us inside even when we arrived at 4AM. Breakfast, especially the tea, was amazing every morning. I had an excursion one day and a staff had graciously walked me to where my tour bus was meeting, since I was on my own and was confused with the directions. As I was coming back from the tour, the riad had called my tour guide to make sure I was safe and had not gotten lost on my way back. This was so thoughtful and I was touched by their kindness. Marrakech was beautiful and staying at Riad Nafis made the experience much more memorable.

A Authentic Moroccan experience

I booked this thinking it was a hotel, as that was my search parameter on Expedia, however it’s listed as a boutique hotel... which I would say is actually a bed and breakfast. Regardless, it’s a gourguoulsy remodeled authentic Moroccan Riad, it was comfortable, and the owners are very gracious and accommodating. If your looking to get away from a traditional hotel, and you like the bed and breakfast concept, this is your place. It’s tucked away in a winding alley so be sure to call or use google maps to find it... but it’s within walking distance of everything you want to see and do in the Médina.

Not A Good Idea

Small and cramped, room poorly lit and poorly furnished, and Location not good. Nothing interesting about building or architecture, no ambiance. The hotel staff however are nice and try to be helpful - they are doing the best they can with little to work with. Food gets an above average score. If cheap, value to price might be satisfactory. It’s current ratings are beyond me.

Nice Riad, great staff, inside the medina.

What a lovely little jewel. It's location is very good as you are inside the medina and the staff is so friendly. Abdou will give you a very informative talk of the things to see in the medina and the kind of stuff to avoid (which is important). We also had one of our dinners at the Riad and Naima prepared such a lovely three-course spread. Breakfast is great with most of the items made by Naima, and it would sustain us way past lunchtime. Ismail the guy who does night duty made our dinner memorable, as he took great photos and was such an attentive host. The room was well appointed and typical of a modest home in an old medina. The bed was really very comfortable. 5 stars to Riad Nafis and the team.

Couldn’t recommend more!

Abdou picked us up as the riad is a little hard to find. He then spent a good 10 minutes explaining where to go and what to do before we set out to explore Marrakesh. We were 10 minutes to the Jemaa el-Fna by foot. The room was lovely and the riad an oasis of calm in crazy Marrakesh. Breakfast on the terrace was excellent. At night when we had trouble with the wifi Ismail called someone and fixed it without hesitation. On our last day Abdou offered us the terrace while we waited for our transport, then walked us all the way out to find it. Best service we had in Morocco by far.

I could live there

We stayed there twice, in 2 different rooms. Both experiences were very good. The reception by Abdu was fantastic as we arrived very tired and grabby and he offered tea and this beautiful room with a bath tub. The second time it was almost coming back home and we stayed in this beautiful room with shower. The water in the inns and hotels is very hot and good pressure so it felt always good to come back from the souq and the walks and be able to relax. The service is excellent, the food is great and there is a fantastic terrace you can spend some time reading or just listening to the city. It feels safe and relaxing to be there. The common spaces are small but they only have I guess 4 rooms so everybody gets plenty of space to read or drink tea, outside of the rooms. If you have mobility problems you need to book the room in the ground floor.

Very recently decorated place. A little hard to find but great support from staff in finding our way around. We had issues with the wifi and a few other amenities that were broken or not functional. Perhaps due to renos? Either way, this place is pricey in terms of value. The breakfast was pretty skimpy and we were offered stale baking a few times. Convenient location to Jemaa El Fnaa

It's a small riad right next to the Royal Palace and 10 minute walk to Jemaa El Fnaa. You dont really see the palace but the walls surrounding it. But since its next to the Palace there are guards all over which makes you feel a little safe and easier to find your way back to the riad. From the main driving road, you have to walk about 5 minutes through an alley way to get to the Riad. Dont be alarmed even though it looks sketchy. The staff at the hotel are super friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and good but be ready to wake up around 5:30 AM with prayers over the speaker. It goes on for about 30 minutes throughout different locations but since we were next to the palace, the palace's speaker went first and it was pretty loud. Lucky for us, we had to wake up early that day so it worked out. The only disappointment I had was when our driver who the hotel arranged didnt show up on time at the airport for pick up. There's pretty much only one exit with all the drivers holding their signs with customer names but ours wasnt there. We waited 30 minutes but still didnt see him so I had to turn on my phone which cost international phone fees to call our hotel and let them know that we have been waiting at the airport. That wasn't a pleasant experience especially when you are at a foreign country.

Gorgeous Riad with the warmest staff imaginable

Came here for my birthday and was not sure what to expect from a 'Riad'....Well the warmth of the staff and the lovely rooms made our stay one of my nicest experiences. I woukld like to thanks Abdou, Ishmel and the lovely cook Naima who made me a birthday cake and brought it to me on the roof. That really made my day. On a more functional basis the Riad is very close to the main square and yet is in a very quiet and very safe area (it is next door the Kings residence so armed guards are everywhere) The beds are super comfortable and the room was pleasingly quirky in a very Moroccan style. There has been a lot of thought put into the Riad and it shows.

Just short of excellent

My fiancee and I checked into this hotel for 3 nights on a short break to the city. I must say that the location is stunning: right next to the King's palace so is incredibly safe and secure, 10 minute walk to the Jemaa El Fnaa, Khotoubia mosque and the souks in one direction, the Saadian tombs, Bahia and Badi palaces 10 minutes in the opposite direction. The staff are exceptionally hospitable and will go all out to make you comfortable with transfers arranged, your luggage carried and escorted from the car to your room and then a quick overview of the city and its sights over mint tea and pastries on arrival. The pool at the centre of the house is cool, welcoming and beautifully clean and the roof terrace with amazing views, sun loungers, oleanders and bougainvillea and wonderful pergola is a highlight and is a stunning place to have breakfast or to escape the hustle and bustle of this vibrant city. My only gripe is the fact that our ground floor room, Mogador, was terrible. It was dark and felt slightly oppressive and had a small bathroom with a large bath and no enclosed shower. The bathroom power point wasn't working and the tap dripped and there is a major lack of mirrors in the room. The Sultana room above it on the 1st floor was much, much better and was airy, had a 4 poster with white drapes and a beautiful enclosed shower. If you are to stay here, avoid the ground floor rooms like the plague. Other than that, this is as good as riads get.

Riad very close to Kitoubea Mosque and Medina.

Nice comfortable riad close to Medina. Lovely friendly, helpful staff. We stayed 3 nights and returned for one more night after travelling to the Desert and Essaouira. Two different rooms. Both comfortable and clean but snug. One had a mildly unpleasant smell but not at top of bed. Breakfast tasty and filling. Location and staff best points. Value for money.

Perfect choice in Marrakesh

Marrakesh has the reputation of being fast paced, hectic kind of city, but this little riad is a quiet haven in the midst of all that. The hotel is as advertised, we found everything in perfect order. The facilities are very good, staff very friendly, and the delicious breakfast will keep you going all day!

Nice Riad, a few things would have made it great

Nicely located, super safe area, short walk to Koutoubia Mosque, and thus a bit more to Jemaa el-Fna. Quiet, terrace beautiful. Has a pool, but was freezing (better for summer I suppose). Room good. Breakfast simple, a little too simple (1-2 days sure, 3-4 days...we needed something else). We were disappointed with the dinner, far better and far cheaper nearby, but that wouldn't be the reason to stay here. Very nice staff, helpful with organising day trips out of Marrakech. Wifi was practically unusable, we must say.

This place was really nice. We stayed at another Riad and you could definitely tell that this place had done its research to please their guests. Many places don't have proper soap or even towels. This place gives you face clothes, a hairdryer and has windows to the outside. A beautiful Riad with great staff, would definitely recommend. We stayed in the Berber room and payed around 60euros a night.

I am sorry to say that i find the place very depressing as there are no windows, no sufficient lights, no fresh air, no tv, very limited wifi (you have to go out of your room to receive a phone call), etc. However, without the pleasant and supporting staff i wouldn't stay there. The two gentleman, Zohair and Abdul-Rahman provided excellent service to compensate the shortcoming of the accommodation.

Home away from home

The Riad Nafis staff took care of my husband and I from the moment we landed. We were anxious about visiting a new country and the put us at ease which made our short weekend very enjoyable. They arranged a taxi pick-up for us and met us in the street when our taxi arrived to walk us down the alley's to reach the Riad. This is a typical city with streets and signs that are easily read on a map so that was very helpful to us or we would have been lost immediately. Check-in was very easy, the room was comfortable, well cleaned, had soap, shampoo and even hand towels ( which I forgot to pack this once). They booked great excursions for us at reasonable prices. Even though there was a bit of a language barrier the man helping us was very patient and went out of his way to help however he could. We were glad they served breakfast here so we wouldn't have to wonder around for food in the morning. I enjoyed my first experience with Moroccan mint tea and now I love it. The location can't be beat! I specifically picked this because of other reviews. It is about 7-10 min walk to the souks and restaurants. Depending on traffic it can be a 5-10 drive to/from airport and walking/pick up tours were easily done from here. Our stayed felt like we were welcomed into someone's cozy home and the staff really made our visit to Marrakech memorable!

Amazing Staff!

Loved it! From booking to check out the whole staff team was so friendly and helpful. They really went above and beyond to help us get the most out of our visit to Marrakech. It was great to have them to help arrange our transfers and activities, and Abdul was kind enough to sit us down when we arrived (with mint tea and cookies) and showed us on a map the best sightseeing places and gave us tips and a brief history of some of the area. Shukran Jazilan!

Location excellent

I loved our stay in marrakech, the riad was great, the staff were very friendly, I felt the only thing that let the riad down was the lack of the staff, you would often find yourself walking around the place trying to find a member of staff to help you. The food. Breakfast was repetitive, no choice to order what you liked, the one evening meal we ordered was a disappointment, they ran out of gas and had to go and get some we were waiting well over an hour, over all if they had more atentive staff and a menu that had choices it would be a lovely place to stay.

a perfect base to explore Marrakech

Starting with the friendly welcome by the superb host Abdu everything about the Riad was a joy. Abdu introduced the city and its people at the first meeting and was always accommodating. Sumptuous rooftop breakfast under the azure blue sky and the Atlas mountains in the background, a pure delight. All the rest of the staff were very friendly too and spoke good English. The rooms were very clean and air-conditioned. Hassan the driver/guide was such a gentleman, he picked us from the airport and also took us on unforgettable day trip to the Ourika valley, taking us to a Berber home and stopping at the right places and to the waterfalls (with very reasonable rates). He organised another excellent guide Hisham to lead us up the mountain (which was a good idea as the track can be tricky in places).

Beautiful Riad with friendly staff

The staff at Riad Nafis really made this experience. They made us feel at home and welcome, plus we were only a short walk to the centre of the medina. Our first night we had dinner at the Riad, it was so good we asked for it again on our last night. We accepted the transfers offered from the airport which was a breeze. The room had the basic ammenities like a hair dryer, soap, etc. but it was enough. I can't be happier with the staff though! They were there for every need and very attentive! We highly recommend you stay at Riad Nafis!

First trip to Marrakech

Upon our arrival to the Riad we were met by Abdul, who welcomed us with mint tea and some lovely Moroccan biscuits. Abdul then went on to spend some time explaining the different areas of Marrakech and made several suggestions of places to visit. He also kindly gave us some useful tips on Marrakechi etiquette, to avoid any undesirable situations. The Riad is located about 15 mins away from the airport and is at the back of the Royal residence, its about a 5-10 mins walk to Jemaa El Fna and the souks and is within walking distance of other sites such as La Koutoubia, Saadian tombs etc. I must admit on our first day out, I did expect to get lost, however to my surprise we managed to find our way back with no problems. The area is quite safe, with police and royal security guards patrolling the area. I had pre-booked a 2 day excursion to Zagora desert and a day trip to Ouzoud waterfalls with the Riad. Both excursions were enjoyable, but involved a lot of time driving. All in all I would definitely return to Marrakech and stay again at Riad Nafis. Marrakech is a bustling city with kind and welcoming people. Riad Nafis was a wonderful base, offering a convenient location from both the airport and centre of town. However the best part about the Riad would have to be the wonderful and helpful staff. Thank you to Abdul, Isaac and Ishmael who made us feel so welcome.

Great location.

The entire staff at Riad Nafis is welcoming and kind. Abdou is very knowledgeable about Marrakech and helped us navigate through the streets and alleyways. The riad is in a great location, most places are within walking distance. The area is safe. The walk to the riad the first time may seem sketchy, especially if you arrive at night as we did. Most of the old city is made of alleyways, do not be alarmed. With the kinds palace near by, there are guards on foot nearby. The riad itself is quaint and beautifully decorated. I would definitely recommend staying here.

You MUST stay here if you're visiting Marrakech

I immediately felt welcome and comfortable when I entered the Riad. The Riad is located in an amazing location, close enough to the important sites such as Jemaa el Fnaa but far away enough from the hussle and bussle. The Riad is also located in a very safe area and I never felt uncomfortable or weary. Upon arrival Abdou showed us a map of Marrakech and explained where to go, what to do and little tips here and there - I have never received such attention to detail service before this. Throughout the stay all the staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating and were always more than happy to help out and would do so with a smile. The Riad even has a booklet of excursion they can help you book so you're in good hands in regards to site seeing. I have told all my friends and family about Riad Nafis and I would urge anyone to stay here as it will make your stay in Marrakech unbelievable. I can't wait to book my next trip back to Marrakech just so I can stay here again. If this review does not convince you to stay here, I don't know what will. My last tip is that you MUST try the food in the Riad at least once because Nayema is an incredible cook and you'll be sorry if you give it a miss.

A beautiful and relaxing place to stay

We loved this Riad! It is ideally located in the Medina, close to the Royal Residence so it felt completely safe. The staff were attentive in just the right way and the attention to detail was impressive. There are beautiful things to see on the walls and on shelves and these, combined with the architecture, made it a wonderful place to stay. It was a relaxing place to return to after a busy day sight-seeing. We are so glad to have discovered it. We would definitely return!

THE Place to stay in Marrakech

I was booked at the Riad Nafis for 7 nights but stayed for 13. My plan was to spend the additional 6 nigths at another Riad but loved the Nafis so much, I could not leave. The staff; the food (pre-ordered; the service were all outstanding. The neighbourhood is safe as it is next to the smaller Royal Palace with guards and police posted 24/7 in the immediate area. The owner (Sophie) and staff made my stay feel like a home away home. I will definitely stay at the Riad Nafis next time I'm in Morocco.

Wonderful Riad with a Warm and Friendly Feel

We had a great experience at Riad Nafis! What stood out the most about this place was the customer service. Our layover in Casablanca was delayed by 4 hours so we ended up getting to the Riad past midnight. They were so accommodating and prepared our dinner at the late hour! We had a beef tagine home cooked meal and it ended up being our favorite meal of the entire trip! I would strongly recommend eating their tagine meals during a stay. Great location, beautiful riad and fantastically a

We stayed at Riad Nafis for 3 nights in December and had a brilliant time! Although it was our first time in Morocco and had done little research on Marrakech beforehand, the helpful staff at Nafis played a significant part in making our short trip a memorable one. They went above and beyond to make us feel at home and spent time recommending (and organising) several excursions/activities. It felt a very personal, bespoke experience. We would definitely recommend getting the riad to organise a transfer from the airport as it can be a little hard to find the first time. Once there, though, you are well looked after. The riad is in a secure location, very close to most of the key parts of the Medina, with clean and comfortable rooms. Having the excellent breakfast on the equally excellent roof top terrace every morning was definitely a highlight. We can't fault our experience and wouldn't hesitate booking again or recommending to others.

Authentic Riad with super helpful staff

I stayed at this road for 3 nights in January and I have nothing bad to say about it. The check in was anytime and breakfast could be arranged for anytime as well. Upon arrival, a staff member took as aside provided a map of the medina and explained where everything was relative to the road and gave us tips on how much can fare should cost to different sites. The area is very secure due the the proximity to the royal palace. There is no tv in the room and no restaurant but at the price point that was minor because for me vacations are to be spent exploring new cities. There is an excellent restaurant at a nearby riad (villa des orangers). The staff are understanding of English but are much more comfortable conversing in French or Arabic. It gave me the opportunity to practice my French. Distance to the airport is about 10k. The one difficulty with his riad is that it is located in the medina so transport will pick you up and drop you off at the medina gates and then there is a 5 minute walk through a labrynth like path to get to the front door. Everything within the medina is walking distance from the riad.

Peaceful place to explore Marrakech

My daughter and i arrived in Marrakech and were glad to have accepted the Riad's offer to have driver meet us at airport (cost 15 euros). It was our first visit to Morocco and it made it super easy not to figure out transportation. Abdu greated us at Riad with hot mint tea and the most delicious cookies . He then sat with us and explained all major tourist attractions using a local map. The location of Riad is ideal because it is walking distance to all attractions and it is easy to find one's way back. All of the narrow streets with no street signs can be a bit overwhelming but this location made it easier. We requested the cook make Tanjine for us one evening and it was delicious. We also had them schedule massages which took place at the Riad making it super convenient . Staying inside of Medina can be a bit overwhelming if you are not used to constant action, but we always found safe, quiet , peaceful place at rooftop terrace in Riad Nafis. The manager Mohamad was always very helpful and available via email. He graciously coordinated our transportation to our next location for us and they picked us up at the Riad. The owner Lilou stopped by to introduce herself and check to see we had everything we needed. These extra touches made us feel at home. Thanks to all the staff at the Riad Nafis our first visit to Morocco was very enjoyable.

A great little riad in a very safe area. The staple breakfast was enough on its own, but the addition of personal requests made it that much more perfect.
