The hotel and service we received was excellent the manger made our stay memorable could not do enough for us. I would recommend this hotel .

This is such a wonderful place to stay! The riad is a beautiful building with lots of places to sit and relax - including wonderful roof terrace. The location is walking distance to everywhere in the medina area - but most of all such friendly helpful people! Mint tea and pastries on arrival, help to sort out balloon ride, get taxis, map to get around . I would definitely recommend this as a really special place to stay

OUR THINGS WERE STOLEN - DO NOT RECOMMEND

My boyfriend & I booked this Riad for 5 days & while the Riad itself is really beautiful and the owner was very welcoming we did not have a good experience 1. WE WERE ROBBED BY AN EMPLOYEE OF THE RIAD! before we booked this Riad we had read a review about someone who stayed there & had something stolen from them but my boyfriend did not believe the review & thought it would be fine. (He was very wrong) On our last day at the Riad we had packed our bags & went downstairs for breakfast & in the 15-20 min. that we were eating, someone went into our room, went through our bags & stole hundreds of dollars worth of things. (none of the rooms have locks on them, so anyone can go into your room at any time) Looking back on the situation that morning, as we were walking downstairs for breakfast we saw the night manager almost hiding in the corner & we thought that was weird because in the five days that we had been there we had never seen him up there & we had never seen anyone up in that area. (The owner did reimburse us for the items that were stolen & he was very very nice and helpful about it, but it was something that should not have happened) 2. It is located down a small alley, too small for taxis so you have to walk from the main road. The last few nights we were harassed by a few men, it was scary, they were yelling & threatening us. The Riad does give you a key if you come back late at night which was nice but just be cautious

Beautiful property the only thing that would make it better is if you could order food/snacks during the stay

Great authentic property, full of charm and history. Hosts very friendly and helpful. Location convenient for exploting the winding streets of the city and we felt very safe doing so. Don't miss spending some time on the terrace, it is large and very comfortable to sunbathe or tske some quiet time out. Whilst they don't serve drinks they are happy to store beers etc in their fridge. Breakfast is generous in size and whilst the same every day stocks up the energy levels for the day ahead. Indoor pool looked nice although too cold for us to try and more likely of use in the really hot months. Decent restaurants near by for dinner options. Msin tip would be try to source a detailed map to try and minimise time getting lost!

Nice place but...

It was a nice stay but felt a little off with naked paintings in room. Weird feel to the place. Staff was very polite and nice. However, we did lose a few hundred here from the safe in the rooms that only had a key to the safe without a code.

Considering the location, right in the Medina and around a 3-5 minute walk from the souks, the Riad is a surprising little oasis in the middle. I loved the tranquility and appearance of the two courtyards in the middle and the pool was delightful (if pretty cold), as it definitely worked to cool us down in the heat of the day. The bedrooms were also tastefully decorated and unique, each in their own Moroccan styling- even the ceilings are beautifully painted (a classic Moroccan feature). Lastly, the terraces above are peaceful, sun-soaked, and full of plenty of seating areas, and wiling away some hours in the day, up there, was very relaxing, indeed. The best things about Riad Monika, however, are the wonderfully attentive Zouhair and Khalid. These two really helped to make it feel like home, and no request felt too much of an ask. I must add that, at one point, I lost my phone in the back seat of a driver’s van, and we had no idea how to get it back- but thanks to Zouhair, I had my phone back within 1.5 hours! He is the kindest, most decent, and honestly hard-working person, and it was a pleasure to meet him! I really loved this Riad, and I would definitely return because of how comfortable and homely it feels.

A intimate oasis within the medina

I recently stayed at Riad Monika with my boyfriend. We loved the riad - it is beautifully kept and feels like an intimate oasis within the hustle and bustle of the medina. The staff were so kind and friendly. The manager of the riad helped us navigate the medina and was there if we needed anything throughout our stay. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Charming Moroccan Oasis

The Riad Monika is unequivocally one of the most architecturally charming homes I have ever seen. There is so much appeal that it is impossible to take in everything. We swam in the pool which sits in the middle of the building. We lounged on the rooftop, which has multiple comfortable sitting areas and ate a delicious breakfast there one morning. It was truly romantic. The bathroom was grand and completely unexpected. And to top it all off, the service was immaculate. We were welcomed with delicious mint tea and cookies. While we were swimming one day, our host Zouhair was so kind as to magically appear with freshly squeezed orange juice for us. Our hosts (Zuhair & Khalid) made sure we became familiar with the medina, made restaurant recommendations, and even offered to walk with us one morning. I only wish I had stayed longer and will definitely consider this place when I return to Marrakesh.

Beautiful riad, located a short walk from the souk and main square. The staff were friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the surrounding area. I would definitely recommend. The only point to note is it's difficult to access by car due to the narrow lanes. Closest access point by car is just under 10 mins walk.

We were looked after so well. The customer service is excellent. Evening meal we had in the Riad was delicious. Location was great, very close to the Souks. The house itself is decorated beautifully.

Would highly recommend staying here, the riad is beautiful and in a great location 10 mins walk to the souks and main square. The manager who runs the riad could not do enough for us. Delicious fresh breakfast is served on the roof terrace.

We stayed for two fabulours nights at Riad Monika --March 16th/17th and loved everything about it! It was such a beautiful calm oasis in the medina of Marrakech and is in a quieter area ---about ten minutes walking from the main square. The host, Zouhair was absolutely wonderful and was so kind and helpful as were the rest of the staff. From the moment we arrived and had our welcome mint tea to the time we left he was the perfect host. He walked us down to the meeting point for our rental car delivery and waited patiently with us. He also put our mind at ease about finding our way in the medina and driving in Morocco. Our room, the Bahia room, was just beautiful as was the entire riad with the pool in the courtyard and all the beautiful details and architecture. There was a bowl of fresh fruit it our room and Moroccan black soap in the bathroom ---special touches. The breakfast was served on the large and pretty rooftop terrace and it was a great selection of fruit, breads, eggs, yogurt and juices ---loved it. We also liked how there were a variety of areas that you could relax in at the riad. The riad is quite close to the photography museum(Musee de la photographie) which helped us find the location easier. It was the beginning or our Morocco two week trip and what a way to start! You will not be disappointed. We highly recommend Riad Monika and really hope to return one day. I could write more but please stay and see for yourself how wonderful it it.

We were not sure when we get to the door what kind of a place it is. The outside door is deceiving. Raid Monika is a unique hotel where you can find peace, cleanliness and great food. The hotel is a gem in a Marekesh medina. The cleanliniess and the architecture of the place is amazing! It is in a medina but away from the noise. We ate breakfast on top of the terrace. It's set up for every family. We had fresh bread, croissant, freshly squeezed mandarin or orange juice with boiled egg and different jams. Whenever we ask a different kind of egg, they made it for us the way we like it. We ordered dinner one night and the food was amazing! I felt like I was at home away from home but with full concierge onboard. The staff welcomes you with a smile and makes sure you get what you ask for. They are decent, kind, and well mannered people. Zhuhair is an amazing guy! You can ask tea every day and they bring it to you with almond cookies. I would definitely bring my kids next time I come to Marakesh! By the way they will renovate the place in August. I can't wait to see it with added Hamam, Morroco Bath!

Riad Monika is an absolute oasis in the intensity of Marrakech. The Riad is in a great location, within walking distance to so many sights, yet is itself incredibly quiet and comfortable. Zouhair and the rest of the staff were incredibly accommodating and helpful. It was such a relief to come back to this lovely place after a day spent in the chaos of the souks. Everything was perfect and comfortable. I stayed in the Bahia room, complete with hand painted ceilings, a fireplace, large closet and huge bathroom with soaking tub. Even after I was ready to leave the city I was not ready to leave the Riad. As a solo female traveler, the Riad was safe and secure with plenty of spaces to just hang out and relax in. I am SO happy I found Riad Monika and can't wait to stay there again. I would highly recommend to anyone wanting a relaxing spot to escape to in a busy city.

Everything was perfect

Zouhair is an amazing host, the place is beautiful and the location is just perfect for visiting Marrakech. The breakfast was also very nice and complete, i would definitely recommend Riad Monika to anybody. I don´t think you can ask for more when staying in Marrakech!

The location was great, nice mint tea and swimming pool. Very unique and the roof was awesome. Complimentary breakfast was very nice. A real Moroccan Riad experience. Highly recommended.

My partner and I had a great stay at Riad Monika. We loved the traditional Moroccan style and relaxed atmosphere, especially hanging out on the rooftop in the evenings. Zouhair was very friendly and helpful with extras like printing off our boarding passes for us and recommending places to eat. The location is ideal, being in the Medina and a walkable distance to attractions but in a quieter part of town. We felt that we were away from the hustle and bustle and could relax at the riad. Would highly recommend a stay here.

Beautiful Riad!

Riad Monika is a really gorgeous place to stay in a quiet area of Medina, next to all the souks and things! We were welcomed with great care and served mint tea on the amazing rooftop while we were given all the information we needed! The staff were very helpful and generous. Our room was so luxurious, we specially like the calm and charming courtyard and the spacious and beautiful rooftop! Highly recommended!!!

I don't normally write reviews, but this Riad is an exception. Absolutely beautiful Riad with a tranquil home feel which is 3 minutes walk from the Musee de marrakech and Musee de la photographie. It's also 5 minutes from the Souks and probably 10 minutes walk from the main square and Mosque. Zouhair delivered an outstanding service and gave useful tips to seeing the sights yet staying streetwise in marrakech. Thankyou. NB: as a handy tip, I would download google maps so it can be viewed offline before you go as it's very easy to get lost here and get taken advantage of by the local boys taking you down winding roads and expecting a hefty tip for their service. 'Riad Monika' is on google maps so they're easily avoided if you know where you're going.

A wonderful peaceful Riad, superbly run by Zouhair, who went out of his way to ensure our stay was so memorable. Great location in the heart of the Medina, and a haven to come home to from the whirlwind that is Marrakech. Would highly recommend staying here.

Beautiful riad, quiet place to sunbathe on the roof. The manager Zouhair couldn't be more helpful and welcoming, and his wife is an excellent cook- we had dinner there on the first night. Breakfast was v impressive too! Located right next to the souks which we probably would not stay so close to if we went again as it was a bit intense. Room was lovely and clean with open fireplace which was needed as it was cold at night, lovely decor but could maybe use a few more lamps.

Riad Monika is very tastefully and traditionally decorated. Location is a little difficult to get to. Zohair is a great host and very willing to help in any way he can. He accommodated us by giving us a very early breakfast. Riad Monika is 15 minutes walk from Jana al Fanaa. I would recommend this property.

Riad was beautiful and well-kept. We got a warm welcome from the owner. Located right in the hustle bustle in the heart of old town Marrakesh so was exciting but can be difficult to navigate the streets to the riad. Be careful of the motorbikes in Marrakesh - always keep to the right hand side when walking on the street!

Great stay

Arrived evening, massive delays through immigration then taxi driver didnt know hotel location but after getting lost a phone call to hotel and one of the evening staff met the taxi and collected us.. As the hotel is in the heart of old Marrakesh the streets near to the hotel are pedestrian only so its a 10 minute (safe) walk down cobbled streets Hotel is very traditional, comfortable and quiet. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Only a small number of rooms so you have the hotel pretty much to yourself. Beautiful rooftop area with comfortable seating. Internal courtyard with pretty pool. Breakfasts are a treat with crepes, croissants, fresh fruit, hard boiled eggs baguettes. honey, jam, yoghurt etc etc. The staff couldnt have been more helpful or friendly - we were served mint tea and biscuits when we were relaxing in the courtyard. Location is great unless you have a car as there is no parking and not directly accessible. The hotel is central and only 20 mins walk through the souks to the main square, main mosque and palaces restaurants and shops. The new town is only 30 mins walk. Overall a great place to stay and experience a traditional (but modernised) Riad.

Excellent Riad in a brilliant location to the souks, museums and other easy accessible taxi links from a nearby post office. The manager Zouhair greeted us from the airport transfer we arranged with him prior & was an amazingly welcoming & accommodating host throughout. Excellent English & more than happy to assist us with any queries. Dinner at the Riad one night is a must! Possibly the best meal we had in Marrakech. Wonderful Moroccan home cooking. Breakfast is also amazing with a great selection of breads, pastries etc which will keep you going long in to the day. Highly recommend this Riad!

Wonderful Riad in Marrakech

We arrived at the riad after a long road trip to the desert and were thankfully met at the local parking area by Zuhair who walked us back to the riad and gave us a lovely welcome. He was the most helpful and friendly host with perfect english. Special mention also to the lovely Mohammed -together they made us feel very welcome. The communal areas and roof top were so relaxing and well decorated. Location is only about 5 minutes walk to the main souk street (once you have figured out the way). We stayed in the suite Hayat which had plenty of space and a great bathroom. If we are being picky our only downsides were that the bed was too short for us and the pillows were lumpy. The curtains didn't block out the light so no sleepins and the TV also didn't work. If we were to stay again we would also choose another room away from the front door so that couldn't hear everyone coming and going. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this riad for the friendly staff and relaxing feel.

Great location near the souks,restaurants and bars

Riad Monika is a lovely place to stay in Medina, tranquility by pool and lovely roof terrace Zouhair took care of us he was very welcoming and helpful. spend 5 days here I highly recommend if you fancy a relaxing break away with a traditional touch of the rich Moroccan culture.

Wonderful, a true gem! Made our trip delightful!

Buried deep within the hustle bustle of everyday marrakech life, Riad Monika was a true gem that simply took our breath away! It's decoration, design and glorious detailing were inspiring to be in. Zouhair and his team ( including his wonderful wife) were absolutely brilliant and our family room suite was stunning! They were kind, helpful and extremely honest people which made our trip what it was! The food( including rooftop breakfast feasts)at Riad Monika (made by Zouhairs wife) were delicious and they even catered for the fact that it was my partners birthday by making everything so special! After a full day of walking the city, the pool and calming internal courtyard space was a delight to return to. Thanks to Zouhairs daily tips and directions, including easily arranging an early morning taxi for us to the airport both ways and to take us out of Marrakech , to Ourika valley to see waterfalls at our convenience meant that we felt safe and looked after. I could keep writing about how great Riad Monika and Zouhairs team are but instead I will say , please visit Marrakech and please stay at Riad Monika! You will not be disappointed! Wajiha and Jack

Das Gefühl wie in 1001 Nacht findet man im Riad Monika vom Zimmer bis zum Poolbereich und auf der Dachterasse. Sehr liebevoll und bis ins kleinste Detail wurde hier wert auf eine traditionelle Atmosphäre gelegt, die einen in eine andere Welt entführt. Toll!

Un remarquable accueil pour un séjour réussi

Les lieux sont très agréables, bien décorés: belle ambiance orientale dans un Riad de qualité, d'une parfaite tranquillité. L'accueil est très personnalisé, et Zouhair met toute sa connaissance de la ville et de sa région, ainsi que toute sa disponibilité pour rendre votre séjour le plus agréable possible. Nous avons séjourné une semaine à Marrakech (fin février est une période idéale) et la situation de ce Riad dans la partie nord de la médina nous a parfaitement convenu.

Wir würden nachts sehr herzlich begrüßt und uns wurde das Riad noch gezeigt. Am nächsten Morgen gab es ein sehr lecker Frühstück. Es war jetzt nicht Übermaß aber man wurde mehr wie satt und absolut ausreichend. Der Besitzer hatte uns noch mit einer Karte ausgestattet und uns die wichtigsten Regeln für das "Leben auf der Straße" ausgestattet. Welche man sich wirklich zu Herzen nehmen sollte. Das hotel war sehr schön und sauber. Wenn wir wieder nach Marrakesch kommen wird es unsere erste e Wahl. Die Lage ist perfekt und man erreicht alles Fußläufig. Vielen Dank für das tolle Erlebnis

It was a great stay at Riad Monika, we enjoyed it a lot. The staff is super friendly and the rooms are great. It is a small oasis in the middle of the old Medina. Outside of the riad the city is chaotic and it is pretty poor. Breakfast on the terrace is good with a nice view. Everyday you will get fresh fruits, water and towls. Moreover, the riad is super central and the shuttle from the airport is good and quick (also at 3 am in the morning). We can recommend the riad!

tolle Lage, wie ein kleiner Palast, sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal, jeden Tag 1,5l Wasser und Obstteller auf dem Zimmer, wunderschöne Dachterasse, kleiner Pool im Innenhof, hervorragendes Abendessen

Eine tolle Unterkunft, wie aus tausend und einer Nacht!! Sehr liebevolle Details und sehr zuvorkommendes Personal , stets einsatzbereit und hilfreich!- ist leider etwas schwer zu finden.
