Stayed for 4 nights and had a wonderful stay. The place is an oasis of tranquility in the busy medina. The room was beautiful and the bed was super comfy. Breakfast was lovely. We had a massage there and that was better than the massage we had at another place where we went for a hamman. But on top of that it’s the staff that get this place 5 stars. Welcoming, attentive, friendly and extremely helpful. They gave us recommendations, made phone calls for trips, organised taxis and tuktuks and changed money. Without them we’d have spent a lot more time searching the medina - which is also part of the point of going to Marrakech -but not if you want to be somewhere at a set time!

Bed was rock hard and very uncomfortable. Otherwise the place was satisfactory.

The front desk was very helpful, Mohamed was very patient with us. He took the time explaining the maps going to Jemma el Fnna, but we still got lost twice. He also checked on us when we were walking to the square. At 1am we were going back to the Riad, we couldn’t find our place, I used goggle maps, there was no connection. It was very dark and scary, we called the hotel but could not connect. I would not want to stay there next time because of the difficulties finding the Riad. There’s should be more lights and signs visible for the location.

We enjoyed this property as the location was pretty central to everything and the breakfast options were great!

We spent 4 nights at Riad Karmela Princesse in early April. The staff at both Karmela Princesse and Riad Karmela opposite could not have been more helpful, friendly or kind. The Riad was an oasis of calm in the middle of the Medina. We had booked a suite for us and our two teenage children and had great rooms next to each other. The kids had a wonderful time with a great mix of activities as well as time on the terrace in the sun and in the pool. The Riad also had wifi everywhere which was super useful. Everyone was keen to ensure we had a wonderful trip and offered many suggestions for day trips and outings. We booked a day trip Ourika Valley, an evening trip with camel rides in the Desert D'Agafay as well as Jardin Majorelle during the day and the trips and transport were ideal. All of the drivers were friendly and informative and the map that the Riad provided on day one was brilliant and easy to follow through the Medina. As it was Ramadan while we were there we ate most of our evening meals in the Riad (due to timings) where they offered a choice of two set menus that changed each day. Every meal was fantastic and there was plenty of it. The breakfasts were also delicious and offered plenty of variety. Would highly recommend Riad Karmela Princesse

Absolutely fabulous stay! Incredible location (yes, like every Riad, hard to find, so use their air transport). So accommodating and helpful. Steps from the souk and all your dinner options, yet quiet and delightful.

Quiet refuge in the chaos

The room was not in great condition. Curtains didn't close properly. Room fridge didn't cool. The bathroom tiles cracked and tired looking. The general lobby is nice and comfortable. Breakfast is good and the staff are friendly and helpful. One day there was no hot water and that was annoying but eventually fixed. Airport pick up and other transport arrangements were good. The Agafay desert outing we booked thru the hotel was horrible and wouldn't recommend.

We had an amazing stay at Riad Karmela Princesse. It is a stunning property, beautifully designed in true Moroccan style. We stayed there with our 2 kids (11 and 8) and had a family room which were 2 rooms next to each other. The rooms were spacious, both with lovely bathrooms. The staff were so warm and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. It is located in the heart of Marrakech and close to cafes, souks, restaurants etc - all a short walk away. We'd highly recommend it.

Everyone was very welcoming and Armine in particular looked after us very well. It’s a welcome haven of peace and calm from the bustle of Marrakech. Food lovely and rooms very individual. Swimming pool not used as not sure how clean it was. Will definitely book to go again.

pleasant experience after some problems

Initially messed up with wrong room allocation for two nights. after several complaints the owner sorted everything out. Staff were excellent and service was excellent. Overall, we had a very pleasant and enjoyable experience.

This is a truly wonderful Riad in the heart of Marrakech. It is spacious, clean and well decorated. Most of all, the staff are amazingly helpful, gracious, warm and kind. Nothing is too mych trouble for them. They gave us useful advice about where to go and arranged a three day trip to the Sahara for us, which we would definitely recommend. The around around the Karmela Princesse is busy and noisy, but the hotel itself is like an oasis of calm. We have just left and already wish we could return.

We had a wonderful stay in the Raid Karmela Princesse. Hospitality was great, room was clean and spacious. Dinner was very good the one night we ate at the Riad and buffet breakfast in the morning was nice. At check-in they went over a map of Marrakech with us and even gave our two kids cards with the Riads address and phone number in case the got separated from us (which did not happen). Porter helped us get our luggage to where the driver to the airport was going to be meeting us since it is difficult for cars to reach where the Riad is loacted. Overall a wonderful stay.

If you want a real riad in the real life Marrakech this is the place, staff are great they will get you something or do it if you ask and leave you alone if you want nothing. The place is amazing. A 5 minute walk to the famous square following a simple route. Get picked up from the airport with them, makes life easy untill you find your own feet, this was the first time for us and it made it easy for us x

Pool may have been oversold..it is small, cold, and in the dining area. Service was amazing!

My friends and I had an absolutely fantastic time at the riad. The staff were very hospitable and catered to all of our needs without hesitation. They were even kind enough to minus taxi fares and food that we had during our stay there. The manager, Mohammed even brought us back to the riad after a night out of clubbing. My friends and I really appreciated that as the Old City can be quite scary to walk in during the night. I would definitely stay at this riad again. Thank you very much for everything.

The staff are so amazing at this hotel. I have never had such tremendous service. Everyone is there ti make your stay excellent. The rooms are all different and very clean and very Moroccan. Hotel can be hard to find at first as you need to walk about a block to it...but excellent location..in the medina but just off the main area so you have quick access to the excitement but you are just far enough away for peace and quiet. Also excellent food!!! Best place we have stayed.

Fabulous stay! Very accommodating and kind team who gave us great recommendations and advice for making the most of our stay. Plus a lovely welcome complete with complementary mint tea! Plus the riad was beautiful with a lovely plunge pool on the roof to cool off after a busy day in the medina.

The Riad Karmela Princesse was a great lodging. Located inside the Medina, it was a short walk to the souk ( a massive marketplace of 100’s of stalls) and the Central square of the city. Even though we were in the midst of the old city, once you entered the Riad you were in a new world. Entering through a small walkway, the the first floor has a totally enclosed courtyard with pools, fountains and plentiful outdoor living space. The next two floors are rooms. These rooms are beautifully decorated and generous in size. The roof terrace is where the inluded breakfast is served each morning and where you can arrange to have dinner. And I should mention they arranged to pick us up from the airport and had a book of tours they could arrange for you through the hotel. We went on 4 of them—-all excellent. We would definitely stay at the Riad Karmela Princesse again

Incredible Riad, an instagrammers dream !!

I stayed at karamela Riad about a month ago with my boyfriend for 7 nights. The riad owners, a lovely couple were both welcoming and knowledgable about the medina and Marrakesh. They took us through the do's and don't's of the city and shared insiders tips and knowledge. The Riad has been carefully decorated to be fun and colourful - the sister to riad karamela (the more traditional riad next door) owned by the same couple. We were able to use both riad amenities and had the pleasure of dining at riad karamela roof top traditional restaurant - we ate there around 3 times as their beef and Courgette tagine was one of the bests we have tasted! There is also a hammam spa where you can get a traditional scrub or massage, I highly recommend the scrub. Riad karamela has a fusion restaurant, the dishes were light and modern - taking notes from traditional flavours but with a twist. The meal was delicious and creative - I highly recommend having dinner at the riad. The staff were incredibly helpful, friendly and accomadating. The rooms are stunning - this really is a reason I would go back, check to see which colour scheme and style you prefer before you visit as each is individually decorated - to a very high standard. Our room had a private balcony, we had been kindly upgraded. The riadcan also book you in for a variety of activities to do in Marrakesh such as camel riding, biggie driving and atlas mountain trecking. I suggest booking through the hotel

Les chambres sont propres, petit déjeuner copieux et les soins hammam et massages excellent. Un merci particulier à Mohamed qui nous a chouchouté pour l'anniversaire de mon mari Au top ! Nous recommandons fortement ce Riad. Notre séjour était parfait !

Highly recommended. Location in centre of old city: you can walk everything from there. Beautiful interior design. Good restaurant. Very helpful staff. Few minor points are quality of wifi, and the rooms have little to no noise insulation.

Quelle magnifique semaine nous venons de passer avec Joël et son épatante équipe au Riad Karmela Princesse, un endroit plein de charme en plein centre de la Medina et à quelques minutes des souks et de tous les points d’intérêt de Marrakech. L’endroit est somptueux, le service digne des plus grands palaces, les repas préparés par Fathia tout simplement succulents. Toute l’équipe a été d’une attention remarquable, d’une sincère gentillesse, et a fait de notre séjour en famille un moment de détente et de dépaysement dont nous avions besoin et dont nous nous souviendrons longtemps. Merci aussi à Mohamed et Mohamed, à Bouchra, et à tout le reste du staff. Nous vous disons à très bientôt !

Wat hebben we een heerlijk verblijf gehad @riad Karmela. Heel sfeervol, superhosts, heerlijke ontbijtjes,... Van alle gemakken voorzien incl goede tips, taxiservice en vele aanwezige voorzieningen. Echt een aanrader!

Le personnel a été très aidant et sympathique. Le Ryad est situé au cœur de la médina dans un quartier très sympa... à 5 minutes de la place Jam el Ef na et surtout à 2 minutes de la place des épices avec le fameux café des épices très agréable.
