Bad Experience

The riad cancelled my reservation the night of the stay. They did nothing to help me find new accommodation. This ruined my evening as I missed a dinner with friends and wasn’t able to get into another hotel until very late.

My first trip to Morocco and I loved it! I was there on vacation and landed the next morning after the earthquake. The staff was so friendly and helpful. Very clean and comfortable. The rooftop is fantastic.

A haven during the earthquake

From the welcoming glass of sweet Moroccan mint tea on arrival to helping us survive the earthquake everything was outstanding

This riad has just changed ownership, so they were in the process of renovating the property during my stay. The first room I was in was gorgeous and large, but immediately off the common courtyard/dining area and was loud and did not feel private. They were kind enough to allow me to move to a more secluded room upstairs which was small but perfect. The staff were extremely sweet and welcoming, helpful in making recommendations for activities, making meals, helping with transport, etc. This was my experience with a few different riads in Marrakech. The location is ideal because it is close to the action but in a quiet side alley, also near an ATM and food. For a mid-range riad it was perfect.

The Riad Jonan is full of good quality Marrakesh character, everything in the room works, conveniently located and easy to find on arrival. small shops and good, clean restaurants nearby. Helpful staff and good on-arrival orientation. It is faultless.

Great place to stay near the Kasbah

I'd highly recommend this Riad. Hassan was extremely helpful prior to our arrival. Upon arrival everything was ready for us as we had pre-booked excursions. We were given advice on accessing the souks and Jemaa el-Fna. Along with tips about getting around and what was near by. It made our stay very easy. The rooms are lovely, breakfast daily and the pre-booked excursions were exceptional. We chose to go to the Sahara, the hammam and on the city walking tour it was all very enjoyable. The trip to the Sahara was incredible although a bit exhausting as its quite a long distance across the mountains which were also beautiful. Overall we had an amazing trip and I attribute this in large part to our stay at Riad Jonan

Fantastic! Can’t wait to go back

The Riad is stunning, and we were made so welcome. The staff couldn’t have been friendlier and so efficient. Nothing too much trouble. The food was delicious. I really cannot praise highly enough!

Nice to be in different part of town

Lovely hotel. Bit further out but more chilled with good restaurants close by. Tourist tax is taken at booking but hotel staff asked for it again to make the taxi charge seem less so watch out!

Great riad

Close to the Saadien Tombs and Cafe Clock. A comfortable walk to Jemaa El Fna. A long walk to the Marrakesh Museum and the Photography Museum. Hassan was very welcoming and helpful. Breakfasts were great. The shower heads could be upgraded and the housekeeping was somewhat intrusive. Overall very good.

Authentic Riad with Traditional Vibe

I enjoyed my stay at Riad Jonan. It was different from the typical hotel because it was in the Old Medina of Merrakech. You are surrounded by the cultural vibe, amazing food, and true Moroccan lifestyle. The Riad was clean and welcoming. Abdou who was the caretaker was very welcoming. He treated me like a brother and made sure I was well accomodated to. He even woke up earlier to serve me breakfast because I had a train to catch. Usually breakfast is at 830am, but he served it to me for 715am because I had to leave. My experience there was great and I have no regrets, I most definitely recommend this Riad and would personally stay there again. Thank you Riad Jonan! :)

Good breakfast, great location and superb service

We had a great stay at Riad Jonan. It was very good value despite being a 3* hotel. The hot/cold ample breakfast was served at your table (not buffet/eat as much as you like). It included orange juice, tea/coffee, bread/cakes and a choice of hot and cold main dishes including eggs, cereal, and fruit with yogurt. We managed to get a free updgrade to a superior room which was more spacious than a standard room and included a mini bar/fridge but no TV. A deluxe room is also available which is more spacious and includes a TV. The hotel can arrange airport transfers at an extra cost if required, or you can just pick up a taxi from the airport. The riad was clean and very tastefully decorated in the morrocon style of ceramics. The service from the staff (Hassan, Abdul & Yasin) was superb, who are very helpful in giving advice, planning your days and booking visits for some of the attractions. The private Hammam booked through the hotel was very local and superb but quite expensive. We booked an expensive one-night trip to the Atlas Mountains, Sahara Dessert which included a camel ride, dinner and simple basic breakfast with a stay in a tent. The trip was quite tiresome and most of the time was spent travelling to and from the edge of the Sahara dessert. I would suggest a day trip to the Atlas Mountains only.

Really friendly staff and great location

Hasan and all the staff at Riad Jonan are outstanding, they are so helpful and make you feel really welcome. The breakfast in the mornings is great and the location inside the Medina is also excellent! A must stay place for anyone travelling to Marrakech.

Fine riad

We stayed 5 nights at this Riad and loved it. The staff--especially the manager Hassan--are excellent; it is on a peaceful side alley in Kasbah, walking distance to everything. They serve dinner (and wine). Nice roof terrace on which to chill out.

Great location

Highly recommend. Appreciated that someone was at RAK when we arrived. Staff very welcoming. Breakfast was good. We were able to leave luggage and retrieve 6 days later after side trip. We appreciated being able to buy beer and bottle of wine and be served on terrace. Alcohol is scarce in the medina.

We stayed in Riad Jonan for 7nights from 12-19th of Sept. We were so delighted that our room was upgraded for free! It was just the end of the peak season so we were the only guests for The first two days of our stay. The staff were so helpful and kind. They always greet you with a smile. The riad itself is amazing. The tranquility when you are inside is amazing. You wont believe it is situated in the near a busy street in the Kasbah. Breakfast in the terrace is a must! The only downside was the poor connection of wi fi in the room. Overall, it was a really lovely experience of staying in Riad Jonan

Lovely traditional Morrocan hotel

Lovely little traditional Morrocan hotel, easy to find in the Medina and not far from the main square (about 10-15min walk). The room (Safi) was a little rough around the edges but was clean and of a reasonable size. Downside to room was that the bathroom wall does not reach the ceiling so didn't feel very private when visiting the bathroom! We ordered an evening meal for our first nights stay, one lamb and one beef dish from the 200 dam set menu, it was delicious, one of the best meals we had in Marrakech, but very big portions. I have a healthy appetite but could only manage half of the main dish. Breakfast was nice with a number of options on the menu, and you can take breakfast on the lovely terrace. Staff were very helpful & friendly before and during our visit, providing lots of advice and a map for places to visit.

Great location and lovely hosts

The location is great, in walking distance to a number of key sites but out of the way enough to be quiet. The venue has everything you need and the hosts are great
