Very close to the square. As long as you don’t expect hotel quality, this is a great option to stay.
We stayed here for a couple of nights and would never stay here again. We didn’t know what to expect as it was our first time in a Riad but since we have stayed in a few different Riad‘s, and this was by far the worst.
Our stay in Marrakesh
It was a last minute booking . And the price was cheap so I guess we get what we pay for. Chris was a really nice guy even though he speaks only French we managed to communicate. The service was very basic. So don’t expect much such as room service etc.. Also during our stay the room was so cold i had to sleep wearing my coat. We tried to turn the AC on but I guess it wasn’t working properly or we didn’t know how to use it . I didn’t bother asking to see how it works because we would come late at night and did’t want to wake Chris up . The rooms are next to each other so you’d hear the doors closing/ opening and one night I think new guests arrived and we were asleep . It was very annoying as they were talking right next to our room and it wasn’t pleasant at all. We woke up really frightened as we thought someone was coming into our room. Other than that the place was close to basically everything . The price was cheap compared to other Riads . I wouldn’t personally stay there again but It’s not that bad for someone on a budget. Thank you Chris
Very convenient location and good value for money
This Riad is wonderful. It has a beautiful Moroccan design and a really good Moroccan experience. My friend and I stayed 3 days and we loved it. The host named Chris is wonderful, he was very helpful and always friendly.
It is very old. Rundown. Need big need for renovation (bedsheets, faucets, shower, sinks, flooring, walls, air condition). Manager pretends to be helpful and asks manager and basically nothing happens.
Not as advertised.
I really wanted to love this Riad, but it was not as described, resulting in disappointment. First, it was very hot when we arrived in Marrakech, and the mini split in the room did not work. The owner brought in a fan. Also, part of the reason I booked Riad Harmattan is because the description stated that English was spoken - that was not correct. I do not speak French, so I was unable to communicate with the owner. The room was dark and certainly in need of a fresh coat of paint. The bed was not comfortable, and the linens were so old that you could actually see through them. We were leaving early the next morning so are unable to comment on the breakfast. If I spoke French, I may been able to ask for another room, and it might have been in better repair. I had reservation to stay again after our return from a desert tour, but cancelled and found some else to stay.
The host was helpful to our questions, beneficial to be able to speak French. It was a very safe location , quite.
Host was at great service very helpful.
The Riad has all the basic amenities you need, clean sheets, comfortable bed, hot water, excellent service, friendly staff and a great location. But the some areas of the Riad are in need of repair and could be tidier. If you arrive at night, definitely arrange a transfer with the hotel, it was excellent value. Overall it was good value.
Excellent Stay
Beautiful Riad for a family with kids, and a few minutes walk to the main square.
If you want to stay in a traditional Moroccan home, this is an excellent one. Make sure that you know a little French as the family does not know English. I felt very relaxed and secure. It has AC, a beautiful courtyard, and several cats. (Marrakech has cats EVERYWHERE.). It’s a little hard to find at first, but in a great spot in town.
At the beginning we were frustrated because of the location, you have to walk 2 minutes to get to the Riad, but after we check in Kacem was very nice and helpful. We really recommend this Riad. Great location, great price and lovely staffs.
.
3 night stay in Marrakech
Nice little Riad. Very quiet at night and only a few guests. Bit difficult to find, but once you are familiar with the location it’s easy. Would probably recommend taking up the airport taxi arrangements with the riad, which worked well. Overall a pleasant stay. Thanks !
I only stayed at small hours here, from 1 in the morning to 6 in the morning, so I didn't get to really explore the food. However, the proprietor was very polite, agreed to send a taxi to pick me up from the airport and met me at a place that the taxi could set me down. This was my first time in Marrakech, so the visual impact of heading into a room with those lamps was like walking into Aladdin's cave, it was impressive. Unfortunately when you are in the centre of the Riad you can smell the souk outside, which spoils it. I also had a dripping tap and a shower that wouldn't provide hot water. However the host was very gracious, the food was good and the wifi worked very well.
Beautiful riad Very helpful stuf
great place to stay
ideal place to stay as central to visit the souks and plenty of lovely places to eat a two minute walk away and easy walks to local places of interest. the owner Christos is great he arranged a taxi for us to and from the airport the rooms are just the right size comfortable and clean and breakfast was good too and there’s a roof top terrace to soak up the sun, we would highly recommend this riad a great place to stay.
Beautiful but...
When I arrived, I was told you don't have a room. I proved my reservation and got it finally. The room wasn't ready and we had to ask for bed sheets. The suite is beautifully decorated but it smells and requires better cleaning and renovation. The room does not have private bathroom and bugs can be found too. I cancelled my other night. For breakfast you get freshly squeezed orange juice, omelette and other local baked goods.
Quiet and relaxing riad, great location...no pool
An amazing riad in the heart of the Medina. We loved the rooftop terrace, breakfast and the turtles. The room was quiet (we didn’t get woken by morning prayer) and very relaxing. Only caution is that there are certain things listed as “on the property” such as a pool that are clearly not. I anticipated this from the photos so wasn’t surprised. I mentioned this to the owner he said he does not manage this information and is not able to update it. I was a bit surprised by this...
Nice, quiet and friendly staff plus the area not far from Jamaa afna square.
Really enjoyed the old time setting of the inner courtyard.
Good location and good Riad for the price.
Like all Riads this was close to Jemaa El-Fina and in unmarked roads/alleys. So very important to get the hotel/Riad to collect you. I could not find email details for this Riad and could not call. So arrival trip was scary and airport taxi cost 250d (100d more) which dropped us 20 away in El-Fina and I had to ask a stranger to get us to Riad and pay them 50). No cable/tv in rooms. Common tv only local channels. Apart from this and not offering early breakfast (pre-8.30) the stay was good for the price and type of Riad.
Not friendly environment
Room we stayed has big gap between the door and the wall. So it was very cold as air comes in. My son and myself fell ill. There was one staff in the hotel. We did not feel comfortable to talk while having breakfast between 9 to 10 am in the morning as we were reminded others are sleeping.
short stay
the place is hard to find but luckly the host came to lead us and later will give us a map. Air conditioner perhaps is not working so it is a bit cold. Good breakfast. Have hot water for shower, but my friend said his room the water is not very hot. I don't know.
Great riad in a good location
Lovely riad, friendly helpful staff, excellent breakfast. Made to feel very welcome throughout our weeks stay. Fantastic location just a few minutes from main square, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily book again.
located very inside , not feel safe at night
lost phone at hotel ! Staff charged me high amount for Sahara trip 650 dirham ,
Charming little riad
Good Stay, welcome
worst experience in life
I've travelled to 80 countries and it's the worst hotel I've experienced. Major issues: 1. Extremely inconvenient location. Not possible to find for first-timers. Local gangsters, who asked for "service fees" by coercion, followed while entering the narrow streets. Hotel receptionists took that for granted, saying that "it only happens when you first arrive". 2. Very irresponsible service (if any). Receptionist promised to book first-class hotel. But only told me to go to the train station to buy one myself on the final day. Note that without first-class ticket, the 4-hour train journal would have no seats available. 3. Receptionist shout at customers in a very rude manner. Not prepared to offer any help as there's only one staff who can manage (limited) English. 4. The gate is locked for customers, who need to ring bell at night. But the receptionist isn't always available. Sometimes other customers have to open the gate for the hotel at late night. 5. No real restaurant available - what they offer is a takeaway menu from nearby soak. In short it's not a hotel that can serve foreigners. Period.
Quiet Escape from the Jemma el Fna
I stayed here for 2 nights with my husband. I wanted to find the riad on my own, but after 30 minutes in a full out sweat with my backpack, we decided to let a local help us find the way. When you check in the riad gives you a map which is extremely helpful. The next time we ventured out we didn't have any problems finding the riad, it was easy to get to once you knew the turns. The staff are all soo friendly and help create a relaxed environment which was so nice as the medina is pretty intense with people trying to sell you things. The riad is beautiful!! Absolutely loved the place, especially the rooftop patio! Breakfast was an assortment of pastries/breads with jam, fresh squeezed orange juice, tea and coffee. I had plenty to eat and was full through the early afternoon each day. The place is so quiet and was so nice to come back to after being in the busy medina all day. It's a short walk to the Jemma el Fna, quiet neighborhood. The streets are dark, if you're a female traveling alone, I would opt for a different location; I never felt unsafe, but was told by locals to be careful at night. I would definitely stay here again!
great location
positive reviews from my folks who stayed there recently. All amenities close by, really affordable place to stay.
great value for your money
This riad is relatively simple but comfortable and clean. The rooms are large and traditionally decorated. Breakfast is included, which is a bonus, although the offering is uniform from day to day and not particularly exciting. The location is very central to everything in the medina, although finding the place is a challenge on the first time. At current prices, however, the riad is a great deal.
Right in the middle of the action
Amazing, you get a good taste of how the locals live and trade.
Very good value for money!
We had a great stay in this Riad. Our room was very big and included a sitting area and was located in the new part of the property. The riad is just 5 minutes walk from the square but bare in mind that is not easy to find the first time and you will need to go through some dark narrow streets so I would not recommend this property is you are a solo traveler. Breakfast is provided and includes fresh orange juice, plenty of coffee and more pastries and sweets you could ever eat. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. I would recommend this property to anyone traveling on a budget.
Great holiday for groups of friends
Friendly, quiet and well run riad. Only drawback is the number of stairs to access newer rooms which may not suit older travellers and families with young children. Located very close to the main square, but hard to find. Recommend calling the riad for directions before leaving the uk
Good ryad but bad customer service would not stay
We stayed as a couple. Nice ryad but we did feel unwelcomed by the manager could have better ,more customer service and more relaxed approach to things. Overall nice decor good food but would not stay again. Ryad is at a good location near the square and food stalls but was not a good experience compared to other ryads we stayed at. We stayed their 3nights ,our bed sheets were not even changed once even thon we had asked the manager to specially change them. Nice ryad lack of customer attention.
Hidden gem
Excellent value riad close to Jemma El Fnaa; Good roof terrace and spacious rooms, located in maze of alleys of the southern Medina.Friendly staff. If you can find it ( don't rely just on the street name!) you will not get a better deal.
Riad L'Harmattan
A lovely place to stay but a little complicated to find but there is a good map on the internet to find it. The staff are very welcoming although English is not their strongest language. Did a lot to make our stay comfortable and for booking restaurants for us. If you stay have an evening meal, they do not oversell this facility but the three course meal we had was excellent especially the tagine.
Buona struttura, ottima posizione
Sejour Marrakech
Suite Sahara come upgrade , grazie Chris.
Sentralt men stille
Litt rustic slitt, men sjarmerende. Veldig hyggelig vert.
A éviter
Très bonne literie. Accueil impeccable
Goed.
Very nice guy Christoph, make a big effort to recive the guests in his nice Riad.
Bella location in stile marocchino, Terrazza interessante. Accoglienza premurosa ed attenta.
Todos los muebles muy gastado poca limpieza . Sitio cerca plaza jama fna y otros sito
Marrakech
Beautiful house with a very nice athmosphere. Only 2 minutes from Center by foot. And very clos car park near by. Definitely would book it again.
Personale molto disponibile e gentile, pronto a soddisfare ogni richiesta
Catastrophique .
Zuvorkommender Service, reichhaltiges Frühstück, Dachterasse, Ruhe im Zimmer
Harmattan
Recomendable
Locatie is goed centraal gelegen.
Bien ubicado . Buen trato. Cómodo y silencioso. Limpio . Muy rico y completo desayuno . Variable todos los dias
Excellent accueil, personnel très consciencieux. Riad proche de la place
