DO NOT stay here under any circumstance
Booked a twin room with bathroom but were given a double room with no bathroom which isn't what we payed for. I asked for a refund for that day and was told to go to another riad in the night. We swapped rooms the next day, but the staff were awful. The riad was managed by a couple. The husband was okay however the wife was horrible and made our stay uncomfortable and scary. She physically harassed me at one point, violently stroking my thigh in my bed to grab my attention, even when I pulled away. The tax in € needed to be paid and the husband said to pay on the day of check out as I only had dirhams and needed to exchange. The wife constantly begged saying please every time I walked past and did for days. I gave in and paid by card. She charged me extra but wouldn't tell me why. It incurred a charge for me but I could no longer deal with the harrasment. At one point she was demanding it and wouldn't let me out the riad when I told her I would pay when I got back as our taxi was waiting. The TV in the room was not working as the box was missing. They kept blaming it on the wind, however after constant complaining she suddenly brought the box. Only one remote had working batteries and instead of replacing them she made us swap the batteries every time we needed to use the air conditioning or remote. We couldn't find the riad staff in the morning for breakfast most the time, and when we did it was only 2 pancakes. No one cleaned the room or replaced towels in a whole week.
The real Marrakesh
Wonderful staff nothing is too much trouble, great surroundings and excellent value. Some of the building is showing damp issues but it was winter and had rained a lot. In an authentic part of town so u can experience an area that is not full of tourists but the real people of Marrekesh. They can organise trips for u. A bit tricky to find so better to get them to arrange a taxi to meet u , the driver will take u to the door of the Riad. They don't speak much English , but certainly make up for it with their enthusiasm
Nothing but Problems... Avoid this hotel
Beware! Do not trust the Riad Haj Hotel. Do not pre-pay I have had nothing but problems and unfulfilled promises since I stepped in the door. This hotel should be avoided. My bags were placed in a room rented out to strangers without my knowledge or consent. My room was changed to a smaller / cheaper room (instead of a private bathroom I was offered a SHARED BATHROOM ON A DIFFERENT FLOOR). The hotel would not allow me to cancel my reservation without paying full price. What I found unbelievable however is that after all that (and even having hotels.com kindly intercede on my behalf without success) This “hotel” had the nerve to ask for one of the two pillows on my bed so they could give it to another guest. Really, I’m not joking, they wanted their extra pillow back. Again, I have had nothing but problems and unfulfilled promises since I stepped in the door. You really should avoid this hotel for your own sake. All in all this has been a stressful and disappointing experience. Don’t wind up like me.
Not a great experience
This place isn't in a nice area, our taxi driver dropped us 15 minutes away and said we had to walk the rest of the way, it was a complete maze and not another tourist around so we were hounded by Moroccan men! When we finally arrived the hostel was pretty clean and the people were nice but they didn't speak much English, but there was an weird vibe. we felt we had to walk on egg shells and whisper and although it said it was fully booked there was no one there. We decided to move to a different hotel the next day because we didn't feel safe at all.
NICE RIAD A BIT AWAY FROM THE CITY CONFUSION
This small Riad is situated in the Medina, 15 minutes walking from the main square of the city. It is in the very centre but a bit away from the touristic area, which is a plus :-) The Riad is small and clean enough, with a nice roof terrace where you can relax and have a tea. Try to book a room with a private bathroom, or else you will have to use the shared one which is on another floor and not very comfortable. We had to use this room for the first two days as there was a problem with our room, but then the owner and receptionist found a solution for us and we could move to the other room. The room was big enough with a nice closet and bathroom with shower. It was very clean. Breakfast is served in the living or in the terrace, and it is homemade and delicious with the best orange juice I have ever tried! Everyone in the Riad is very nice and helpful, starting from the lady of the house, Hadija, and the receptionists Mohammed and another two guys (Sorry, I don't remember the names!) to the housekeeper lady :) I would recommend this Riad to everyone looking for a peaceful and not too fancy place to stay when in Marrakech.
Keine Ahnung, was damit gemeint sein soll.

Bad experience in Marrakech.
I didnt like. They didnt send me the transfer to the airport, I have to call and finally someone arrived to pick me up. I The accept it and the manager by phone told me to go to another Riad that Hotel.com agreed to change my reservation. When I arrived the next Riad, they didnt know anything about it. At the end I found by myself a hotel in front of the Square and stayed overthere my days in Marrakech. Hope Hotel.com reimburse me.

this riad was a short walk through the souks
since the riad was in the medina the taxi dropped us at a point in the city walls where Hamid the riad manager met us and walked us the short distance to the property. Hamid made us very welcome with mint tea and directions through the souks and plenty of information re how to haggle in the stores etc. he was also happy to arrange tours and evening entertainment for us
