From the madness of the medina, this Riad was tranquil and peaceful to come back to which was needed most days! Breakfast was great, hospitality was great, rooftop was great.
Tranquil and pretty
Riad was beautiful and really calming to stay in. Eating breakfast / dinner in the evening on the terrace was lovely. This might not be so nice in cold weather, although there were outdoor heaters. The food was good and the property itself is well kept. The staff are friendly and very helpful. They provide you with a list of some of the main attractions and show you where these are on the map, but equally you can make your own plans. The room was a little cosy for 2 friends, but would be excellent if you were a couple. The only downside of the room was that there were no curtains (frosted windows) which means you will get light in the room in the morning. Also as the Riad is next to a mosque you will hear the call to prayer very early morning. Otherwise, the stay was very good and the property a peaceful sanctuary from the mayhem of the city,
This is such an exceptional riad! Alexandra, the owner is beyond amazing. She was so gracious and generous with her time, ensuring that we had a proper introduction to Marrakech. She went above and beyond. The entire staff is kind and professional. The whole place exudes peace and beauty. Our room was immaculate. The decor is just stunning- everything so attentively restored. The food was delicious. We were sad to leave.
Beautiful Riad! The owner is Australian so it has all the comforts expected by Westerners as well as the charm and warmth of the local Marrakech people. The rooftop terrace is great. We ate dinner there and it was our favorite meal in all of Morocco. Breakfast was huge and eggs cooked to order. Our room, Olivia, was lovely, big and comfortable. Only con is the WiFi strength at times. Otherwise, it is a superb choice in Marrakech. Much better than a big, impersonal hotel.
The Riad was beautiful and the location was excellent for exploring locations within the Medina. The staff was wonderful and gave us helpful tips for navigating the Medina and scams to be aware of in order to stay safe.
The owner of the Riad is so nice and helpful. The house is gorgeous and the staff are ver nice.
Great experience!
The Riad is beautiful, clean and comfortable. Alexandra was a gracious and helpful hostess. Made the whole experience wonderful.
Delightful Riad with a beautiful courtyard and heavenly scent from the orange and lemon blossom. The owner is so knowledgable about Marrakech and really does everything possible to help. Very welcoming and a pleasure to meet
A Very Nice Stay
Our stay at the Riad Emberiza Sahari was a very pleasant experience. Alexandra (owner) and the staff were nothing short of fantastic. We easily saved a few hours at local tourist stops with her sharing tips on where to get tickets/how to avoid lines. Complimentary breakfast that came with your stay was great, comprised of made to order eggs, along with an assortment of fresh squeezed juices, coffee, tea, multiple breads, fruit salads, and yogurts. The entire staff was extremely pleasant. They have a very nice rooftop to unwind after a day walking through the city, with drinks made to order if that is of interest to you. The level of cleanliness inside the riad (rooms, rooftop terrace, communal spaces were all top notch.) Information that may be worth noting: The rooms do not come with locks and padlocks must be requested upon arrival. With that said, it should be noted padlocks were quickly provided upon request and we had absolutely zero issues all week. Security guards and multiple doors needing keys/entry permissions prevent any unwanted outsiders from venturing into the riad. The internet was a tad on the slower side. Safety deposit boxes were not bolted down in the rooms and rooms did not come with TVs. The area immediately surrounding the riad is a bit tougher than you would like (not much they can control). You must walk a block to get a cab With all of this said, we had a lovely stay and would definitely return.
Superior Riad in Marrakech
This Riad is an oasis in the frenetic city of Marrakech. The property has been stylized in a really tasteful manner. The rooms are serviced daily and spotless. The breakfast is in the courtyard, with the smell of orange blossoms and the water feature flowing. There is a chef should you chose to have dinner in. There wasn’t any request, I.e. tours, that wasn’t handled. Julienne was the manager while i was there. She would check each morning to see if dinner plans/reservations were needed. I stayed eight days and didn’t want to leave. I doubt there is a finer Riad in the city.
An oasis fit for the king
Hidden in a quiet street within the Médina. An oasis and an escape from the chaos outside. Lovely courtyard with pool and orange and lemon trees. Rooms well appointed with most amenities. Gorgeous terrace roof. Staff is there to meet your every need and they have exceeded expectations. After traveling to other parts of the country, I have to say this tops them all.
Fantastic Stay, Great Staff
We stayed at the Riad for 4 nights in early November 2018. Positives The property itself is lovely inside, with the terrace in particular being very nice. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They were always available to help us out whenever we needed it whether to get a taxi or to make reservations at restaurants or other attractions. Overall we had a wonderful stay Negative WiFi was a bit spotty in room but fine in public areas The surrounding area was undergoing a lot of construction and the approach to the Riad had been dug up. They seemed to be working quickly and I’m sure the work will be done soon. Calls to prayer - more a feature of the city than with this property, the Médina has many mosques, you will hear calls to prayer. They may wake you up at dawn. If this is not desirable earplugs would be useful.
Perfect Riad.
My husband and I stayed at this beautiful Riad recently for five nights. The Riad is located in a great location - an easy walk into the center of the Medina, but on a quieter street. We stayed in the Isadora room and it was beautiful. The bathroom was spacious and the entire place was spotless. Alexandra was a great hostess, helping us each day plan what to do and tips for getting around the city. It truly felt like you were staying at a close friend's home, as you were greeted at the door each time you arrived. Because it is a small Riad (only 6 rooms), it has the feel of a house so you will hear the breakfast being set up in the morning and dinner being cleaned up at night in the courtyard. But to me that adds to the feeling of staying at house rather than a generic hotel. Highly recommend booking dinner at the Riad on your first night also. There is a beautiful room terrace with plenty of space also to enjoy the sunrise or sunset. Can't recommend this place highly enough!
Best Host in Morocco
We stayed for 2 nights in this riad and it was a very good experience! When we first arrived, Alexandra (the host) welcomed us with mint tea & delicious Moroccan pastries, and gave us a thoughtful and comprehensive introduction to Marrakech. The staff are very friendly and helpful too. The riad looks beautiful as well and the room is very clean! Breakfast was provided and there was good variety. The wifi signal, however, was weak in our room but Alexandra says that they are working on it currently. Also, although we believe that the riad is safe, some guests may prefer to have the option of being able to lock their rooms. Despite these, we had an amazing time here and we would definitely recommend this place to any traveller!
Overwhelmingly Comfortable, clean, conscientious
We were greeted by the owner Alexandra with such warmth and wisdom and with a thorough download of the highlights and mores and terrific advice for our stay at both the Riad and our time in Marrakesh. She and her staff were diligent and attentive and present for any question or concern. We shall DEFINITELY come back to this Riad and without a doubt make sure anyone we know traveling to Marrakesh stays here. Top notch. And GORGEOUS.
Beautiful Riad in a great location
We stayed 3 nights at the Riad Emberiza Sahari. Alexandra and her team were excellent. They made a wonderful 3 course dinner on our late evening arrival. The included breakfast is incredible. The rooms are nice, the courtyard is beautiful and Alexandra is very helpful in setting you up to experience Marrakech to your schedule and interests.
Wonderful stay at the beautiful Riad!
We loved our recent stay at Riad Emberiza Sahari! Alexandra was a wonderful host and a wealth of knowledge with many great recommendations of things to see, do, sites to visit, restaurants, day excursions, etc. The Riad was recently restored and is beyond charming with a pool in the courtyard (unfortunately it was too cold for us to go in in January!) Don't miss the sunset from the roof terrace as well. The staff were lovely and we looked forward to breakfast each morning. We did not eat dinner in the Riad but have heard from many visitors, this is the best way to experience Moroccan cuisine, so would recommend lining that up one night ahead of time! We hope to go back soon and stay again!
A peaceful oasis, a real gem!
The comfort and tranquility of this riad are as unique as the personal service and hospitality provided by the host, Alexandra. Not only did she see to our every comfort in the riad but she gave us invaluable advice and tips on how to make the very best of our stay in Marrakesh. This riad itself has been beautifully and thoughtfully restored, with so much attention given to small details. The restful courtyard with the orange trees overhanging the pool, the open fire in the salon and the quality of the beds soothed any tired minds, bodies and souls after long days on our feet. It was a sheer joy to return there at the end of each day and to wake up to again in the mornings. I really couldn't give this riad a higher recommendation. In fact, I would just say Book it! And book at least one dinner there too!
Lovely Riad
Had five days in this excellent Riad to get a little sun and escape from London for a while. Marrakech resembles a film set and the Riad a quiet escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Easy to organise a trek in the Atlas mountains for a day.

The riad courtyard is really beautiful but the surrounding streets are not very clean. The room is designed to look nice. However, the water for the shower was not very hot, the tap for the sink was dripping and the carpet not very clean with hair and fluff on it. The absolute worst thing was the CRAZY amount of noise from the mosque every day at 6.30!am. We have lived in Dubai so used to that. But this is on a whole other level. The man seems to be screaming for a very long time. We had little sleep during our stay due to noise from the area and the early call to prayer. The main reason for the low rating here. The Moroccan staff are lovely and very helpful but they do keep trying to sell airport transfers, half day tour (without telling us the cost we were forced into this as we were told you cannot possibly manage the Medina without a guide- not true). We were later charged €60 fir a half day tour. A shame. Not about the money but the lack of transparency and pressure put on us just after we have arrived after a long journey, feeling super tired. We certainly won’t stay there as the noise was unbearable but because of these practices. We did receive a bottle of wine for our 50th birthday which was very thoughtful so want to say Thank you! Hope in future can inform guests prior yo arrival about the noise and not be pushy to sell overpriced services.
