We enjoyed our stay at this riad the family was very pleasant and hospital. Great location when visiting Rabat
The Riad Room decor was nice, there was no air conditioner or ceiling fan. But we were provided with a table fan for 5 of us. The owner/staff were extremely friendly and nice. Home cooked Breakfast was delicious. They arranged very good transportation for us which was very helpful. It is probably not the cleanest Riad, there was an awful smell in the room. But with its rich history and the cordiality and the warm hospitality of the owner and his son compensated for it.
Property is great. We were there on a Holiday so the area was very empty and everything was closed.
Great service! Very nice people. It seems no hot water for shower, maybe I did not figure it out.
The family that owns it is awesome. The faughter is fluent in Arabic, French and English. They are all polite and take notice to make their guest comfortable with the addition if maps to areas worth checking out. Overall, it was a very nice experience.
This was my third stay at Riad Dar Jabador. My daughter, who speaks Arabic well, was with me for the second stay two years ago. I messaged about 18 hours before my arrival this week that I was sorry to be arriving so late. When i arrived, after midnight, the owner talked about how they had been reminiscing about our last visit, how much she had enjoyed getting to know my daughter. We love these people, who have become like family. I also love the location, that it's in a quiet, traditional neighborhood, that one can easily walk down to the shore.
Very beautiful riad! We got a suite to fit 5 people and it was very comfortable and the owners were very friendly. They made us a delicious breakfast in the morning too! Highly recommend this experience.
Amazing service and a great house!!
Staff was nice but our room extremely dirty and smelly.
Easy parking and friendly staffs. Breakfast is pretty good.
The most amazing place to stay. There can be nowhere better than this. It’s like being in your own palace! Totally beautiful and wonderful hosts!
If you value cultural experiences as represented in this Riad's architecture (300 years old), neighborhood and people, then this place has you in mind. Well preserved aged architecture like this is only possible with family history/legacy that was mindful enough to have passed this home down from generation to generation in a desirable location. The ocean is walking distance, and i also was able to visit the Oudayas Kasbah, and the Hassan tower. The family was warm and inviting with top notch hospitality. I highly recommend staying here!
Wonderful experience
We enjoyed our stay in the Riad Dar Jabador. It is an authentic family run riad and we were made to feel part of the family. They arranged airport pick up for us and even drove us themselves to the train station when we left Rabat. We also had dinner in the riad one evening which was delicious. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
The owners were very warm and welcoming.
A wonderful family run Riad close to everything
Stayed in the Zafran suite on top floor, felt very welcome from the moment we arrived. Family is great, super helpful with directions, maps, suggestions of activities.. not just for Rabat. Riad is well situated near local square, markets, beach, bank/cash point. A few minutes from fresh bread and markets. Room clean and spacious. Lots of hot water, fridge. Enjoy Salé from here or catch the small row boat 7MAD for 3 people 1 way across to Rabat and the Kasbah, souks there.. we were able to store bags on last day and were kindly made tea with cake at 4pm just before we left for our flight home. A big thank you to father, son, daughter for allowing guests to your beautiful 300yr old Moroccan home, breakfast fit for a king and freshly made daily, coffee was good and Moroccan tea always did the job.. would like to come back one day.. cheeeers
Not a good location
This riad is a long way from Rabat, in what appeared to be a rough neighborhood. It's a very long walk down to the river opposite Rabat. I booked as other reviews said it was great. I can only assume that they were on acid. The riad itself is very old, and very traditional if that's what your looking for.
Big lie No swimming pool NO ocean view NO AC NO spa NO hotel it's Room in old house with a lots of noise you can't sleep
Located in the old city Sale, this Riad is a diamond in the rough. Excellent service, very friendly owner and delicious Moroccan breakfast served at your convenience.
Nous sommes restés dans la chambre familiale qui est spacieuse, très propre et magnifiquement décorée. Le déjeuner était délicieux et il est facile de stationner la voiture. L'accueil est vraiment chaleureux. On se sent chez soi.
Excellent facilities and staff service. Recommending strongly.
What a beautiful traditional riad with all the character one would hope for. The hosts were most solicitous for our comfort and well being. We are very grateful for the opportunity to have experienced it and the care we received.
Pretty pretty
Pleasant stay + lovely family. Breakfast in the riad was very calming. I was provided with instructions and a map of how to tour the city, as well as finding places more catered towards my interests both in Rabat and Salé. The minute or so row boat ride to Rabat cost 2.5 dh. I also had a home cooked dinner here, which was a nice way to try things I’d probably never try, and a nice way to not have to think about dinner. Obviously, the riad is also beautiful.
This is a comfortable Riad owned by the loveliest of families who go above and beyond to make your stay as perfect as possible. There are several options for parking within a 5 minute walk of the property.
It was an amazing stay! The family is super friendly and helpful. It was one of the best Riads during our trip to Morocco. I would definitely go back! Thank you for everything:)
They are nice and friendly!
The best experience in Moroccan place. The owner and daughter are adorable
Beautiful setting ! Pleasant staff!!
Very friendly and pleasant staff, nice, clean, comfortable room, building and environment. Beaufutul buidling. Very impressed !
An absolute gem of a place!
From the first entry into Riad, the key feature is the impression of past grandeur, antiques around but above all, a family feel from the time we entered. We felt immediately comfortable in the presence of the owners (Ahmed, his daughter and little baby granddaughter). Our room was on the top floor (no lift being 300-400-year-old property) but Ahmed helped us with taking the luggage up (despite being in his 60s) and explained everything. Our suite was comfortable (sitting are, two bedrooms and bathroom), nicely decorated. The roof is high with plenty of windows. It could do with one or two wardrobes (for hanging and tidying clothes). We did not even switch the TV on as no time. The property is in Sale which is different town than Rabat the property is in old part but I loved it as I felt so homely here. The key thing that make our stay so comfortable and enjoyable was the host. They are so helpful and go extremely out of the way to genuinely help. There was an issue with hot water due to faulty battery, and Ahmed just sorted it outwithin minutes. He gave us all the information about local sightseeing. The terrace is beautiful and relaxing. Ahmed and his daughter helped us with local Hamam/Massage which was absolutely authentic (not rip-off like in resorts sometimes). We used their kitchen like our own and shared recipes. One can not go wrong with this property as long as you go with mindset that it is a traditional Riad and not a resort and it is completely a family affair.
Nice antique looks, yet comfortable. Nice breakfast, and friendly staff
Delightful owners, located in old city of Sale, easy access.
The property is owned and managed buy a family who live in the property. While we were there they provided a type of barbecue for us to prepare our own food. Everything was done for our comfort, from the electric heating blankets in the bed's to breakfast at a time of our choosing. Even the music was provided to our taste. Our room was quiet and very private. The Riad is located only 10 minutes walk from Oceanside and a large Beach on the Atlantic. Advice about Rabat and Sale was accurate and helpful.
The family that owns this riad is amazing, so warm, generous, and hospitable. Bahija, the owner, is a fantastic cook, and I definitely recommend enjoying dinner here. It is conveniently located and close to the ocean. We walked a short distance and took a row boat to Rabat from Sale, which costs about 25 cents and takes about 5 minutes. It is a fun thing to do. You will love these people! Ahmad and Koutar, husband and daughter, are jewels, as is Bahija. This was our second time staying with them, and we look forward to our next time.
Very friendly & helpful hosts. Property is well maintained & we enjoyed the stay there.
Very nice property. Nice dinner and tourist suggestions by the owner and we enjoyed the short stay in the Raid.
Beautiful and lovely Riad
Beautiful and lovely Riad with the nicest staff we had in Morocco. Their advice, breakfast and service were amazing.
TRAVELERS BE WARE
Room is dirty - floor black in areas from build up. Bathroom had mold in corners of the sink Beds are hard like sleeping on the floor - I really wanted to say something positive, however with the lack of directions in getting to the location and the mafia like practice of Luring in tourists through the congested streets to a parking lot controlled by what appeared to be the whole town of Marrakech and forced to pay 50 denar to park and 200 denar for the guild to our Riad After refusing to pay - I felt threatened and after finally paying- I was surprised (or not) to see that when I had expressed Ann early departure that a car was behind my car (i was the only one ironically) when I asked to have it moved I was again charged to also help the two gentlemen push the car from the ass end barely out of the way to move my vehicle- paying once again. It appeared the whole town was involved like a mafia ran system. For this reason and the fear of my life along with my wife - I truly disappointed and warn ant travelers to avoid this area as you will be scammed for certain - if not possibly harmed (personal property or self) AVOID AT ALL COST
Real Marrocan Experience
Real Marrocan experience. The welcome was GREAT! The service, advices, food was perfect. We loved our stay at this riad and would definitively go back. Lovely place with lovely people !
Super friendly and helpful family-run. Quaint, huge suite of rooms. Terrace with amazing views!
This beautiful Riad exceeded our expectations! To have an opportunity to stay in a family home that has been in the their family for over 300 years was remarkable. The home was beautiful and comfortable.... picture opportunities galore......and the family and staff were very helpful & welcoming! Wish we could have stayed more than 1 night. Many thanks for the wonderful experience!
Unique... building..Morocco style beautiful..but most strong point in this experience is service from the owner...so nice people...polite..wonderful...we did enjoy everything...
The property was beautiful and charming in a historic sale destrict. The staff was great and friendly. Location was great next to a centuries old Kasbah fortress and close to the Atlantic Ocean. Truly a great experience.
This was the last Riad I stayed at in Morocco before returning back to the states and I wouldn't have had it any other way. It is a family owned Riad and they were very accommodating. The meals they prepared were so good! It was just a really great experience. I would definitely come back again.
owner pick us up from the Rabat medina. cooked Tagine very good. offer us to the extra room 2 nights for free during our stay. they are so nice welcome us. nice and clean. good breakfast. we feel like home here. i would recommend to stay at this place.
The property was old and not well maintained. The rooms were hot and not well ventilated
We were welcomed as family members. Mohammed pick us up at the train station. He organized a private driver who took us around to see the most important sites in Rabat. While we were touring Rabat, our laundry was done. Later we had a private cooking class with his family that was an amazing and tasty experience! Tanjine was delicious! Muhammed made sure we were happy and made it in time for the next leg of out trip. Thank you very much for the incredible hospitality!
Riad Dar Jabador is a study in family friendliness. Aches and Bajira (I am so sorry if I misspelled your name!) and their children Mehdi and Kautar are wonderful. They took us in, cared for us beyond what was expected, and treated our little one like a rock star. Their riad is beautiful, so much color and quiet spaces to relax in, especially the roof terrace. Thank you so much for an awesome stay!
Wonderful host family, very welcoming and friendly.
A great place to stay with a hospitable and friendly staff!
Very amazing property, our room was an historic room, we were felt previleged to be in that riad and in that room, so much of culture and characteristics were found. high ceilings, spacious rooms with all good amenities. Very nice family took care of us in all possible way. Always smiling and helping, I would love to go there again. They also helped us with transportation from Rabat to Chefchouan and then on to Tangier. Excellent RIAD deservers 5 star in all possible ways. Even though Rabat is my favorite city to visit I took this riad even though its little off after reading reviews, we were not wrong, we were so happy, the commute is so easy, just walk 10 minutes to get to boat or tram to get to Rabat and all attractions. Enjoyable Stay, very nice Moroccon tea and breakfast. Excellent place to stay, I can't wait to get back there.
The property had some history, but was very well maintained. The family who owns it was amazing. From the moment we booked, they were always available to answer my questions, and even picked us up from the train station. The room was large and easily accommodated four of us. Breakfast was great every morning. The family even booked us a tour of the city with a trustworthy guide. Fantastic place to stay!
Best Riad in Sale Rabat
Amazing Riad fantastic location next to the markets and beach. The family is the nicest people I av ever met very friendly and welcoming and so helpful the breakfast is great with fresh bread every morning and great coffee the Riad is so beautiful my children loved it fantastic rooms especially the suite zafran so spacious also a great terrace to sunbath and relax looking at an amazing view of the sea Thank you so much Dar Jabador
Stay here is you want a local Moroccan experience!
The service here was amazing. A bit hard to find if you're alone and don't have cellular service but they are willing to help. They also upgraded my room for free because the room was available. I would definitely stay here again no hesitation!
It is a beautiful property with amazing owners! We had a kind welcome and were served a nice Moroccan breakfast every morning. The owners were very accommodating and friendly.
The staff were the best feature by far. So friendly and helpful. Can’t recommend them enough!
That it was totally in Moroccan style, very beautiful and welcoming.
We had the most wonderful time at the riad. Mehdi and family were so beautiful and accommodating. We stayed two nights and wish we stayed for longer. Thank you for a fantastic welcome to Morocco for us.
A BIG 10
Very friendly owners and they actually became our friends. Will definitely stay there again and refer others to do so too.
There was Moroccan ambiance throughout this 300 year old dwelling. The host was very friendly and helpful. He was a 3rd generation host in this "hotel". Great location, just inside Ribat's Medina.
This Riad is run by a really lovely, very welcoming family. The father is a retired travel professional who has excellent advise on where to go and how to get there, special thanks to the daughter too who helped us out finding a place to sort out our iphone problem.
The owners of this Riad were super me of the kindest people we have met in any of our travels. If we were to cone back to Morocco we would come here just to stay with them again. The Riad is nice and clean, not the fanciest we stayed in but the most welcoming and loveliest by far because of that. We highly recommend coming here, the owners go above and beyond to make your stay exceptional.
Great family
Great family! Very helpful and they genuinely care about your stay. Place is clean a little pricey for what you get in terms of amentities but worth the service. There is no heat but they have warming blankets. Located outside the Médina in Sale, and with a little bit of a walk and the tram or boat, you will be in Rabat. They have parking but it is not included.
Nice riad
Nice comfortable family ran riad. Owners are very friendly and welcoming. The only issue is the early morning "prayer" from the nearby mosque.
Wonderful stay in a well run Riad hosted by a really hospitable and attentive family.
The hosts were extraordinarily wonderful. They made us feel welcome, were very informative, and catered to our every needs. We look forward to staying at the Dar Jabador again should we be back in Rabat. Thank you, thank you, thank you
Wonderful old large house with a great family running the riad. Very nice neighborhood, and the hosts were great.
Hotel Jabador is the best!
The hotel staff/family were exceptional in all fasests of our trip. They made us feel at home and took care of all our needs.
The hotel owner family is excellent. Mehdi is very friendly and he gave us very important information about our visit to Rabat and Sale; his parents and sister are very kind and helpful. we strongly recommend this Riad. Silvia and Nestor.
It was an amazing experience! The staff was so nice and accommodating! Medi took us to Sale Medina to buy our rotisserie chicken combo because we arrived late! Our breakfast was awesome! The architecture and art work of 300plus old Riad is exquisite!
This one is personal
During our visit in Rabat, my family and I stayed in Dar Jabador, a Riad run by a moroccan family of four: a father, a mother, a son, and a daughter. Mehdi and Khouta(?) greeted us on our arrival with warmth and the most genuine smiles. We were refreshed with homemade cookies and Moroccan tea, in their gorgeous family room, where we were briefed about the history of the building – a Andalucian style property of over 300 years. Our suite, which we were later taken to, was on the second floor. It included a living area, a master bedroom, a secondary bedroom, and a spacious full bath. The master bedroom was gigantic; all of the main rooms had high ceilings, and were decorated meticulously. Both beds were double. Everything was clean and cozy. Outside was a beautiful rooftop terrace. In the morning, delicious Moroccan breakfast was prepared by the daughter and mother (whom I only met briefly due to language barrier) and served in nice dining sets to us. The entire Riad to me was like a museum, as every piece of décor and collection in it was worth gazing at. The hosts always made sure that we had everything during our stay. But what overshadowed “everything” were the hosts themselves. They were all gregarious, charming, and objectively easy-on-the-eyes. They exuberated passion and ingenuity as we exchanged cultures and knowledge. And such quality of theirs was so uplifting, and almost healing as I felt. I presumed it must be the power of Moroccan hospitality.
Cute riad with amazing staff
Nice family run riad with very friendly, accommodating and welcoming staff. They know everything about the town and are incredibly helpful. It is in a peaceful location with traditional decor and comfortable. Lovely breakfast as well, which is always a bonus. Great connections by car/taxi. You can easily go to the centre, train station, Rabat or to the airport from this riad. It's a bit out of the way from everything so if you like to explore by foot, be prepared to walk! Great place to be for a short stay or if you will be making lots of connections to other places.
Wonderful family run riad
This had to be the most friendly and welcoming riad we have stayed in. The family gave us lots of tips about the area. Made us feel at home
Safe House in Sale
Like being a guest in someone's house. Personnel couldn't be friendlier or more accommodating. Aesthetically captivating. Arguably best feature no TV!
Owner and his family are very friendly and treated us like family. The bathroom in our room was very small and could have been cleaner. Overall it was a good stay.
Beautiful place!
What we loved: 1) Mint tea reception upon arrival 2) Very friendly staff 3) Very comfy beds and clean room 4) 300-year-old beautiful, very well-kept house 5) Great wifi 6) Help with printing boarding passes and getting taxi 7) Easy check-in and check-out 8) Lovely rooftop terrace The area surrounding is pretty off the beaten path with not much to see, but the main drag (about a 15 minute walk) is aflutter with locals by 6 p.m. or so, which was cool and interesting to us.
A very enjoyable stay....felt like our second home
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Riad Dar Jabador. The experience was like staying with an extended family where we were well looked after. The small kind touches, like being given a lift to the train station for our trip to Fes and Casabkanca....the delicious evening meals and the conversations with the family in the evening made us feel as if it was our second home. Thank you to the lovely family for your kindness and hospitality. It made our visit to Morocco memorable.
Lovely family and lovely Riad
We really enjoyed meeting the whole family at the Riad, and having dinner made for us after our late arrival from Marrakech. Loved staying there, would recommend it.
Riad Stay
The stay at this Riad was excellent, the family that operated the home was very polite, hospitable and helpful with advice on getting around the location. I highly recommend staying at this RIad!
Outstanding
had the most amazing stay in Riad Dar Jabador. The house is a treasure with high ornate ceilings. The rooms are all well maintained and clean. The house is well known in the area and if you are lost in the medina most people around there are able to help you with directions as they know the Riad - it is 300 year old house. The best part of it is the family. On arrival I was given a refreshing mint tea and home made biscuits. The daughter (sorry I forget her name) gave me a map and instructions on what to visit in the medina and how to get there. When I was leaving I asked the owner (again I forget his name sorry) where I could get a blue taxi to the station from but instead he took my bags put them in his car and drove me to the station. A perfect send off from a really outstanding and hospitable family who went out of their way to make my stay comfortable. Highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a nice home to stay in.
The best anyone could ask for!
This riad was incredible! Although it was over 300 years old it has been maintained very well. Some of the original tile was still visible and just incredible. Ahmed the owner and his daughter seemed like they were old friends or family and treated us like we were the most special guests they ever had. You can tell the owner loves his riad, is very proud of his riad, and he puts all his resources back into the property. I love the fact it was a smaller 4 room riad made it feel like staying at a home instead of some hotel. Take it from someone who stays over 100 days a year in hotels and on the road, this riad is highly recommended over any 5 star hotel!
Place must see and stay in Rabat
Beautiful place and wonderful people taking care of the place and you too, Luther, the beauty with an excellent customer services, always smiling and providing an excellent services. Very beautfull building, 350 years old with tradional Moroccan style you must see.
Super beautiful and clean Riad with helpful stuff
It was an amazing Riad that belongs to 300 years ago. The owner was the father and the son that they were super helpful. The son was very polite and he gave a map of Rabat and describe all the places I wanted to visit and he gave me new suggestions. Riad was so beautiful and my room was big and clean. The breakfast was breathtaking. I stayed one night there and I will definitely stay in Riad Dar Jabador for more days in future.
Great experience Relaxing Staff are great and caring
A Must-Stay / Il faut y rester
This riad was a charming, lovely stay and true to what others have said, the family is a terrific, loving group of people. Multilingual, I conversed mostly in French, a bit in English (my native language), and a bit in Arabic (learning, they were nice enough to hear me slaughter their beautiful tongue). They were SO welcoming and nice and helped Amber every question I had. Because of where the riad is, just off the street, it is very easy to find and away from the Rabat craziness. It is VERY easy and cheap to get to Rabat, either by boat across the oued/river or by tram, both a 10-15 min walk away. Also the food is soooo good! Definitely get dinner. Shokran bizaaf.
Nice Riad, wonderful family
The Riad is nicely appointed and the family will take good care of you. Located at the edge of the medina in Salé it's close to everything but far enough away so that it's quite peaceful. Within 20 minutes walking to Rabat. If you want a good place to stay, I'd highly recommend it.
Nice Riad with Friendly Owners
I can't say enough about the helpfulness and friendliness of the owners of this Riad. We arrived very late in the evening and were graciously greeted by the owners who helped us with all of our luggage. They then proceeded to serve us tea and cookies. We had to get up at 4:00am to catch our flight the next morning. Despite us telling the owners over and over that we didn't need any help in the morning, they still got up and helped us get all of our bags into our car. This was also during Ramadan, so for them to get up again during the night after their 2:30 prayers was amazing. The accommodations were charming and comfortable. We enjoyed our brief stay at this Riat immensely.
Stunning riad in an interesting old part of Sale
A truly exceptional experience. Such a joy to stay with a wonderful family in a lovingly restored beautiful and ancient riad. We were very well looked after by our gracious hosts and very well fed, the food the most delicious we had while in Morocco!! Riad Dar Jabador is an absolute treasure of a place and I would recommend it to everyone. Thanks again to Ahmed and his lovely family.
Moroccan Hospitality at its Greatest
What a fabulous experience! For us, staying at this riad with this incredible family was an experience of a lifetime. It is a small riad with 4 guest rooms, which makes it very special. The whole family, Ahmed, Bahija, Kaoutar, and Mehdi, are exceptionally warm and kind. They have a very positive attitude about life and share that with their guests. It feels like you are staying with a family rather than at a hotel. We loved being in Sale, rather than Rabat. It is a 10 min walk from the ocean and the river, where you can take a row boat across to Rabat. This takes about 3 mins and costs 25 cents. You can also take the tram which is very close to Rabat. The family is very gracious and extremely helpful with information. Bahija is an incredible cook, and I definitely recommend arranging for the dinner, as it is reasonably priced and very fresh and delicious. I can't say enough about this family! We want to return again and again, and we are already planning our next visit. As we would say in Morocco, it is "moumtaz"!
Good Riad
Very very very very very very outstanding service and great Riad
Perfection!
From our first step through the front door, our host and hostess greeted us with joy, wondrous mint tea, and biscotti cookies! Great suggestions from restaurants to shopping to sight seeing-!
A perfect base to explore Sale and Rabat
The hospitality of the owner was excellent. Both husband and wife welcomed us with mint tea and cookies. The owner used to be a travel guide himself so he was nice enough to give us a map of Sale and Rabat along with recommendations. His wife cooks delicious crepes so a must have! Riad is about 20 minutes away from Rabat, however the host gave us a map and exact directions to make our visit comfortable Heated blankets on the bed was cherry on top!.
A beautiful Riad and a wonderful stay
We had a wonderful time and would recommend the Riad without hesitation. Everyone was welcoming, informative and couldn't do enough for us (thank you!). The Riad and the rooms were beautiful and the beds comfortable. The dinner that we had in the Riad was one of our most enjoyable in Sale and the breakfasts were filling and good.
Bon prix
Bellissimo palazzo storico a gestione familiare.
Very good
Very good
Everything was good, only the tipp for dinner
This Riad is a beautiful traditional Moroccan home with guest rooms located off open air courtyards that are weatherproof but airy. The extended family who run the business is lovely and although their English is somewhat limited, they always figured out what I was asking and made every effort to assist. For instance, I was able to access the kitchen to use their kettle and get ice from the freezer. The location is connected to the Medina and adjacent to the large Mosque. The only sound that penetrates from outside the Riad is the call to prayer. If you are looking for a traditional Moroccan experience, I would highly recommend the Riad Dar Jabador. This is not a hotel. Upstairs rooms offer more privacy but there are no lifts. They seemed to have hot water for showers in the evening but not in the morning.
