Excellent
I chose this Riad since it was good value and also had the pools and spa. I booked the spa package which was excellent and refreshing. Place isn't new but it's charming and I had a nice stay there. The breakfast was simple but nice, beds comfortable and they had air-conditioning which is much needed as it was very hot. The staff went above and beyond to make your stay comfortable, very helpful and friendly. Overall it was an excellent stay.
The services provided by the property were ok. No complimentary tea or warm reception. Just water was provided. One issue I had and wasn’t addressed properly by the staff was about arranging a pickup from the station to Riad, I contacted the property via Expedia and there was no WhatsApp info, they didn’t respond to query in time. When I showed them unanswered messages the staff was trying to tell me that you may have contacted wrong property. I politely explained pls check this message it is sent directly to your property, there is no other property. I had to arrange a private pick up, wait at the station for 30 mins, pay extra for the trolley service and the staff response was “oh well you are here now”. One more time I asked for transportation back to the Airport I asked for help but their reference rates were very high as compared to services offered by others in the same area. To be clear these are not their direct services but extended services or through their affiliates. But for a tourist not familiar with the area and to get an end to end experience these were big gaps that I didn’t experience at any other Riad. All other Riads in Morocco were very helpful and arranged these services happily, Going out of their way and tried to make a good experience for me and my family.
The room was spotlessly clean and well equipped, but extremely small, especially the bathroom. It was a very slim single bed with a hard mattress, and noise during the night from the power unit. The breakfast was fine, and location good (nearby the road and the main square). Also very good and fast service at check-in.
One of my best holidays. I was welcomed by staff. Great location, few minutes walk to Djemaa el Fna.
Very friendly & helpful staff very convenient for the shops & square
Clean, comfortable, great bathroom
This place was perfect!! Really clean and comfortable. Room was just want I needed. Bathroom was clean and spacious. Hotel is located in the old town about seven minutes away from the big market. Walking through the little shops leading to the market was great too! Would definitely recommend.
A superbly welcoming and traditional Riad
Absolutely amazing! Hassan and the rest of the team were so friendly, welcoming, informative and helpful. They couldn't do enough to make it the best possible stay. The roof top terrace was superb, with secluded areas to sit separate from other families, with sheltered areas to sit out of the sun if needed. Breakfast was also served on the terrace which was a gorgeous setting. The riad was situated perfectly, at the bottom of the souks, but away from the main market square, which was about a 5 minute walk. The Riad gave us a unique and traditional experience of Marrakech, a very cultural holiday. I would definitely return to Riad Africa, we absolutely loved it! A Mum who travelled with 4 older teens/early 20's, who also thoroughly enjoyed staying here too. They even got into the pool, and spa, even though it was a little cold!!
Had a delightful 8 night stay at this gorgeous riad. Great location. Very quiet and only a 5 minute walk to the bustling souks. The staff are so friendly and helpful and the roof terraces are so pretty where breakfast is served every morning. The riad boasts an elegant library comprising of sumptuous sofas with an array of books and a separate room for playing chess. Very comfortable canopied areas all around the riad if the heat is too much or in the event of a shower. Top terrace has loungers with large sun umbrellas and there is an abundance of outside seating with tables. It was a joy to stay there!
nice place to stay
Nice location, but was hard to find. I booked an room with twin bed and ac on expedia, but got an small room without ac. This was very hard to endure on the first day when it was 30 degrees. When asked to staff they told me all other rooms were booked for the first day, they offered me swap to other room, but that would be unneccesary because i had to leave late on the last day (2 day stay). Still strangely they asked me to pay for the water and printing (paper fly ticket). Overall decent location, with strange advertisement on expedia. Bit dissapointed.
Terrible experience—this hotel was apparently overbooked, so they sent us to another tiny hotel, charging us same high price. Credit card machine didn’t work and they demanded we pay the entire bill upfront in cash. Worst check-in experience I’ve ever had, this place is a complete rip-off. Now I’ll try to get some money back through Expedia.
Central location but average comfort
Central location, in the heart of the old city. 10mins walk from main old city square. However property is old and cramped. More like 2 star standard
Some of the outdoor furniture was shabby and outdoor space did not feel very relaxing. Nowhere to get a drink in the road - both would have been greatly appreciated after the hustle and bustle outside. Staff were very attentive and helpful, with service at breakfast and daily room cleaning deserving of a special mention. It was in the perfect location close to lots of restaurants. Not sure I would book the trips again as we were the only people in the groups!
Riad Africa was fully booked. Stayed in a sister hotel Riad explore. Very well looked after
It’s a 20 minute walk to Jemaa El Fnaa and 2 minute walk to Tinsmith Square. Google map doesn’t give the accurate location. It’s better to have the property pick you up.
Good central location, nice sized room, friendly and helpful staff.
We felt comfortable and safe at Riad Africa. The location is fantastic and staff were very friendly.
Staying in this riad was such a unique experience and we loved our stay. Check-in was quick and easy and the staff was very friendly. The room was nice and clean and we really enjoyed the pool. It was pretty chilly, but we were visiting in August so it was a nice relief from the hot day. Breakfast in the morning was delicious. We also had our 8 year old with us and felt like this was a family friendly accomodation.
Way over expectations!
This place is an oasis in the centre of the ville and the staff is amazing! The property is located in the heart of Marrakesh, in the middle of busy small market streets, but once you are inside you feel completely isolated of this vibrant market. It is like entering an oasis in the middle of the dessert. Rooms are clean and nice, air condition, private bathroom. It includes a delicious breakfast in the terrace of the riad. But the best of all is the staff. Very friendly, helpful and honest. We left behind a small bag with souvenirs, called them, and they sent us the bag to Tangier where we picked it up two days later. It was an extra mile for us. Thank you for the amazing time
Great stay in a beautiful spot
Overall we really enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect (less than a 15 min walk to many Marrakech attractions) and the building was spotless and beautiful. I think the room we'd reserved was double booked because we were placed in a smaller room the first night, but were subsequently upgraded to a junior suit the second night. The staff were very helpful and did everything they could to improve our stay, including finding a room that was a bit more accessible for my mobility issues.
Excellent service from Issam and the Team!
Staying at Riad Africa in Marrakech
The location is great. Close to everything in the Medina area. Accommodations are great. Breakfast has a lot of selection. Ask for an omelette and they will make you just eggs. But then you can add meat and cheese from Buffett to fill it up. A big wind and rain storm came through during my stay and the Riad weathered it well. WiFi did not work the first day, but worked after that. Not super fast, but was able to get a few basic things done. I arrived at night, and it was a little difficult to find. Ignore the references in their directions (telecom sign and glass shop). I did not see those. But otherwise their directions are spot on. Your first left is a bigger alley/street at about 4m wide. It is the first alley. Make the left there and follow the rest of the directions. The only negative might be the hot water in the shower of my room. Eventually it would get hot, but it was just a trickle of water. It was not a shower head issue, as on cold it had good pressure. Leave your key when you leave if you want to have it cleaned. There was a television in the room, but I could not get any channels (I did not try very hard to get it to work. I also did not ask for help).
Really enjoyable stay.
Great experience. Location in Medina near Mellah was fantastic. Riad has real character and is well maintained. Terrace is very comfortable for relaxing. Worth doing the trip to the Casbah in the Atlas Mountains and also having a treatment in the Hamam at the Riad. Staff were extremely helpful (especially Issem) - not at all pushy but willing to make suggestions and discuss what suits. Overall, a really enjoyable trip.
I liked everything about it, it was a special experience
Property manager s difficult to access right in the heart of old Medina! Streets are unpacked making it difficult to roll suitcase. The rooms were unaired and smelled terrible so had to move to 3 different rooms! No hot water, and my third night no heat so I literally froze. Rasheed who seemed to be the only handyman, concierge cook, cleaner... tried to fix the heater for over 20 minutes He just gave up in the end and left me to freeze till morning. Faisal was the property manager was very apologetic but was there daytime. No one during the night hours. I stayed 2 nights then went to Chefcewan, and they kept my suitcase for me. The third night as I described above was a disaster and I had to book another hotel and leave. Very disappointing indeed!
10 out of 10, would come again
Right from the start my trip started out excellent being picked up on time from the airport by a very friendly driver. The Riad is located in a very central location making it easy to walk out into the main square. I felt very welcomed into the property by the very helpful staff, especially Redouan who was very attentive whenever I needed any help or had any questions. Travelling with COVID meant I was the only guest staying but it was made very easy, everything was kept very clean and as safe as possible.
Good, but not very cheap.
I was for the second time Marrakech, first time in Riad Africa. I was very much surprised, when I entered the room; it was depressingly small and had no mini bar and free bottle of water, as promised by Hotels.com publication. I came late on the evening, so I accepted it. The first good surprise next morning was Breakfast: the Continental Breakfast was actually the English one with everything and with fried eggs or omellettes. The juice and coffee were very good.I had - after Breakfast - the talk to Hotel Manager, Mr. Redone, who is wonderful person, very kind and a real proffessional, always prepared to help.He understood I couldn't stay in such small room and he upgraded me to the much better one, where I could really breathe. The room had small fridge, safe, tea/coffee facility and I also got the free water. So, because of Mr. Redone I really enjoyed my staying in Riad Africa. Each room has its name and mine was Okavango. The price, however, is not very low (about 57 euros, including good Breakfast and all taxes). I am staying again in Riad Africa, if I come back to Marrakech. This "if" is because of Marrakech traffic system. The narrow shoppong streets should be for pedestrians only, but there are so many motors, small cars and vehicles with different animals, that it is very dangerous for shoppers, as they are driving as if they are crazy, men, women, young and older ones. They have all priorities on these narrow streets and I've been hit by them several times. The air isbad.
TOP HOTEL!
Best trip amazing hotel!
The service and location were fine. The visit was marred by heavy smoking in the central area that filled the adjacent rooms, my family members left their room to sleep elsewhere. I did not have this issue at the Riads we have stayed at.
The riad is beautiful but my room was unexpected small. You basically open the door then jump onto thr bed. However, there is all you need.
We had a great experience at Riad Africa. The room was great, but a little cold at night. Breakfast was good.
A nice friendly and extremely well run Riad. Located 5 minutes walk from the main market. The Riad also offer personalised trips to the Atlas Mountains as well as other day trips which can be booked in advance. They also have a spa/hamman which is a must! They did every they could to look after us. Abdul on reception is an absolute asset. We will definitely go back.
My experience with Riad Africa was simply amazing! The staff provided superb service--even going out of their way to prepare breakfast bags for the nine of us to takeaway early morning on our day trip to Casablanca/Rabat. They were also very friendly, genuine, and caring. The facility is a bit small, but a gem inside the gates of Medina. Water pressure esp. for shower was not that great, but workable. We also didn't have any issues with securing our valuables in the safe provided. All in all, I would definitely stay at Riad Africa again and highly recommend it for your trip. Thank you Riad Africa!
Great location in Marrakech near Jemaa el Fna
We loved our stay at Riad Africa. We had great communication with the staff before our arrival as well as during our stay. They were very helpful in giving us suggestions for what to do, directing us toward the souks and being available for any help we needed. The room was great -- I had a pool right outside, a heater, tv, safe, a comfortable bed, robes, and a nice couch to lounge on. The shower was great with lots of hot water. Shampoo and body wash were provided. The wifi was pretty good too! I really enjoyed the breakfast on the rooftop terrace where we had made to order omelets, moroccan pancakes, coffee, juice, tea, fruits, olives, yogurt and cereals. I would recommend Riad Africa as a great place to stay in Marrakech!
Very Welcoming
I really liked Riad Africa, they were very helpful at check in, felt very welcome. Our room was very clean, enough space for our kids, I have no complaints about the place. My kids did complaint that tv was not working but we were fine without it.
A good first impression of Morocco
From the punctual and friendly collection from the airport to the punctual arrival to escort me through the alleys of the medina and order a taxi to take me to the station, the staff were exceedingly helpful, friendly and willing to take trouble to attend to your wants and needs. Abdul and Ismail went out of their way to be of assistance and were always good-humoured.
The best client service!
I loved this hotel. The riad was beautiful, great pool, good food, transmit all the culture and the workers were amazing! They help you in everything you need, with your luggage, booking transport, tours, etc. If you need to, they can serve you the breakfast earlier wherever you want: dining room, your room, or the terrace! Which is fantastic! The terrace is lovely and a nice place to chill. The best worker: Abdu!! They really care about your comfort and stay at Marrakech. Totally recommend it! Just check ver well the directions to get there because Marrakech has a lot of tiny streets and can be confusing.
Nice riad if you get the right room
This Riad has a good location and some nice rooms. We booked one of the cheaper rooms which was located up 2 very steep staircases. It faced out on to another property that housed a workshop whos primary trade appeared to be angle grinding metal, all day. If you plan to be out all the time, there is no problem. I think this only affects 1 or 2 rooms. As not all the rooms appeared to be full, it would have been nice to have been offered an alternative, a little easier for my pregnant wife, but we didnt ask, so we didnt get. (Too tired after having to stand for 1.5 hours in customs just to get stared at and a stamp in the passport plus another 45mins waiting for the arranged taxi that never came) The breakfast and dinners here were nice and the staff always tried to be very helpful. I would not recommend that you use their airport transfer or have them arrange a car. Local taxis charge half what the riad does, which is a shame they feel the need to inflate the price instead of securing at the local price for the convenience of their customers. When the car does show up it is no limo. If staying i would recommend the superior rooms, and probably not the ones on the ground floor, unless you like people eating their breakfast outside your single glazed window.
People couldn't do enough to help and were very hospitable
Exceed my expectations
Very clean, helpful staff, lovely owners and great location.
Perfect location
Loved our stay at Riad Africa. Perfect location inside the Medina. Walking distance to all the palaces. Beautiful hotel.
Riad Africa is outstanding.
From the location right in the heart of old Marrakech, to the outstanding service from all of the staff there is nothing where Raid Africa falls short of high standards. The cuisine is extensive & beautifully prepared. You can choose to organise trips to local sights of interest or go further to visit Berber Villages and Kasbah Africa. You are treated with respect and personal preferences are catered for and remembered. Every staff member excels and even when we were delayed arriving, our airport transfer was there waiting and made getting to the Riad so much easier.
Lovely time at Riad Africa
Great time at Riad Africa, staff are absolutely lovely and place is beautiful. Such a shame that we came when it was raining! We met other couples at the riad who said that the weather had been amazing prior to our arrival and that the riad pool and roof top were great during that time. Rooms were clean and spacious and breakfast was perfect. The egg cooked in the tagine is a must eat.
Good place
Couldn't et the hot water fixed during our stay but happily compensated us for it. They did try but apparently the plumber they were able to get didn't do it right. The staff did everything right.
Riad Africa , secret gem ,for a quiet getaway
a group of 3 males , had 2 rooms , PROS: 2 rooms next to each other , very comfortable , big bathrooms, plenty of shower get , and shampoo , ,best air con ever used , and dressing gowns, small free safe CONS, dark rooms, and not much English TV on satelite,
Fantastic
I had an fantastic stay. The people who worked here were super nice and helpful. The place was beautiful, clean and comfortable. Everything you can ever need and want. And it's super sentral, but without any noise from the streets. I wish i could live here 😄

Close and walkable to most places of interest. Didn’t get to spend lot of time at the property as I had a packed short trip but they have nice rooftop space to relax and enjoy
